Punishing Kiss by Ute Lemper

These songs all feel very dramatic and exciting. I really like this this was a good surprise Split feels very fun and exciting as well Almost reminds me of Agatha all along songs I think because of the voice I like the male singer that occasionally appears and his voice works really well with utes Lowkey female meatloaf You were meant for me builds throughout the song and is just so fun and exciting. I wish this was the closer instead because the true closer is weaker than the rest of the album Favorites: the case continues, split, you were meant for me Probably closer to 4.5 but I’ll give it 5 case 4 feels too unfair

The Stranger by Billy Joel

Wow! Perfect 5/5 #3 album oat Favorites: the whole album

Risque by CHIC
Apr 04 2026

I had never heard of CHIC before this album so this was my first real exposure to them. I definitely have heard some of these songs at some point because they sound vaguely familiar. “Good times” is the first track and is the one that sounds the most familiar. There’s no reason for this track to be 8 minutes though. This seems to be a pretty common theme across the album of having a groovy fun original 1-2 minute segment and stretching it out way further than needed. “A Warm summer night” and “my feet keep dancing” are the other 2 biggest offenders of this making the first half of the album kinda a slog to get through. The second half continues the trend but because the songs are 2-4 minutes rather than 6-8 it’s a lot less noticeable and more manageable. I really do like the songs here and they sound good just not when I’ve heard the same thing over and over again. “Will you cry(when you hear this song)” is my favorite on the album because I find it to be the most interesting. While this one does have some repetition it’s only 4 minutes long. Overall this album wasn’t bad but also wasn’t anything too special. I can’t see myself coming back to this one anytime soon. The album gets 2.5 stars, decent

Apr 16 2026

I find this album to be a very good introductory album to Nirvana. Not just if you’ve never listened to them but also if you’re like me and only knew nevermind. The songs off of nevermind were the only ones I knew at first from this album but I quickly grew to really appreciate these other ones. This album has incredible tracks spanning all 3 of the bands albums while also including really great covers of a few different songs. This album was my first introduction to “about a girl”. I really really like this song and it’s one of my favorite on the album. It goes so hard. “The man who sold the world” is a pretty controversial one but in my opinion I find bowies to be infinitely better than this cover. It’s definitely not bad by any means whatsoever but bowies is just better. I find it crazy how many people only know nirvanas version of this song. Maybe it’s just because I’m such a huge Bowie fan but I’d take the original version of the song any day. The other covers here are really good such as “Jesus doesn’t want me for a sunbeam” and “lake of fire”. I really like the meat puppets covers and it definitely intrigues me to listen to them. My favorite cover is also the closer of the album, “where did you sleep last night”. I really like Cobain’s vocals here. I think I prefer the acoustic version of “all apologies” to the original. The guitar is so so beautiful. This really is one of the best songs ever recorded and is easily my favorite Nirvana song. The guitar intro is also just so iconic. This album really left an impact on me after I first listened and I’ve continuously come back since. This may be my favorite Nirvana project just for how well spread it is throughout their whole catalog while including additional covers. It gets 4.5/5 stars, nearly flawless. My favorite song is “all apologies”

Apr 17 2026

Very very solid Definitely surprised me Reminds me of Coldplay but less British Favorites: pounding, m62 song, there goes the fear

Abbey Road by Beatles
Apr 18 2026

Out of Step by Minor Threat
Apr 19 2026

Wish it was longer literally 2 minute average song for only 20 minutes total All very similar Very punk This album is just really mid tbh All the songs are the same hardly any diversity And the song formula they found just isn’t that good Green Day level production with not as good lyrics or music Favorites: betray Like 2.5

Let's Get Killed by David Holmes
Apr 20 2026

Just like… not very good Background Noise 2/5 Favorite: title track I guess

The White Album by Beatles
Apr 21 2026

It’s been so long seen I’ve given this album a listen. I used to always overlook this album I feel but this listen something about it changed. I can now confidently say that this album is one of the most engaging and interesting pieces of music I’ve ever listened to. There’s so much going on and so many different kinds of things going on yet somehow they all combine to make this masterpiece in a way that’s so unique. I really don’t know if any other band besides the Beatles could pull this off. The opening track, “back in the USSR” is one of my favorite tracks and opens the album on a fun upbeat sound. I also love the nod to the beach boys in the middle section. “Glass onion”, while not being one of my favorites musically, I really like lyrically and I love all the little references to previous Beatle songs. “While my guitar gently weeps” is in really close contention to my favorite in the album. It’s so so beautiful and is one of my favorite George Harrison songs. I really love all these super beautiful songs on the album such as with not just “while my guitar gently weeps” but also “dear prudence” and my favorite, “I will”. “I will” is one of the best love songs ever written and is one of my all time favorite Beatle tracks. Disc 2 is for the most part weaker than disc 1 but it’s still really fantastic. A lot of the albums quirks come out a little more in the second half such as with “revolution 9”. “Revolution 9” is infamous for being known as the worst Beatles track and I think out of context that mostly holds true. However, despite its obvious objective flaws, I really really like it and it’s such an essential part of the album and it wouldn’t be the same without it. This album really impressed me and I don’t know how I ever felt differently about it. It’s really hard to say because the Beatles have a few albums that I consider to be perfect but this one I’d say is my number 3 Beatles album behind abbey road and revolver. This album will obviously be getting 5/5 stars, perfect

Super super interesting Starts off jazzy and by the time the last track comes it’s just this amalgamation of sounds and fades back into the haziness I loved the flute in the first song Favorites: moon in June, out bloody rageous I expected a lot less because this generally isn’t my genre although I was pretty impressed Probably 3/5 but 3.5 is tempting

Happy Trails by Quicksilver Messenger Service
Jul 06 2026

Under Construction by Missy Elliott
Jul 17 2026

I really liked the intro and the concept of the album. The closing monologue in hot really ties it all together. That being said the music itself wasn’t anything outstanding. It kinda just sounds like your average hip hop album I liked the part in work it with the reversed lyrics Why does she have to tel us every song is a missy Elliott exclusive, I saw that when I clicked on the album Favorites: work it, intro/go to the floor 2.5 or 3/5

Moon Safari by Air
Jul 20 2026

I always see Moon Safari at record collector and it’s always intrigued me, but I’ve never given it a full listen until now. The production is the obvious highlight of the album with this ethereal, floaty sound throughout it all. Instrumentals usually don’t do much for me, but I really like the ones on this album. “Talisman,” “La Femme d’Argent,” and “Le Voyage de Pénélope” are all really strong instrumentals, but I think my favorite one would have to be “Ce Matin-Là.” It starts with this really cool pulsing sound that adds so much to the atmosphere of the album. Then the horns come in and it turns into this piece that, to me, is extremely reminiscent of Mario Galaxy. I love instrumentals that are full of all sorts of sounds that you can’t really describe, and this album does a great job of that. It’s one of the biggest highlights of the album. The vocal tracks here are also fantastic, with all of them having these super delicate and soft vocals that pair perfectly with the established sound of the album. I love the songs where they sing themselves, like “Sexy Boy” and “Kelly Watch the Stars,” I love the super electronic sound of their voices. The addition of Beth Hirsch, who has a much cleaner voice, is also really nice. Her two songs on the album are both fantastic and add a different feeling to the album. Overall, this album really impressed me and I’m glad I finally gave it a listen. It’s a really unique album with a sound I haven’t heard much of before. It gets 4/5 stars, excellent, and my favorite track is “Ce Matin-Là.”

Savane by Ali Farka Touré

Licensed To Ill by Beastie Boys
Jul 24 2026
