It could have been a 5 if it wasn't for songs like "She's Electric" which ape the Beatles in the worst possible way. Normally I'd consider it an homage but for Oasis its more of a skinsuit and seeing as how the Gallagher's comment on other artists so rudely fuck them twats and their shite beatles shit

This album flows pretty well sonically, and although it isn't a concept album each song seems to make sense in the order it is including the most popular "Alright". Due to commercialization and overplay that song started to be an automatic skip for me but i really appreciated it in the album. This is an album that benefitted from me speed walking on the treadmill because it is an energy album. While it seems to lean a little on classic rock tropes and speed changes it does so with an undeniable energy that is contagious. Heard of super grass forever but this finally got me into them 20 years later.

As someone that tries to make this exact kind of music in my spare time I appreciate it. It is kinda strange on this list and is a little niche but it has inspiered me to try out more settings on my synthesizers with plucked strings and such. Very well done but kind of not for many situations other than taking an exam like i was or doing homework.

It's very difficult not to just hear a swiffer wet jet commercial or any number of garbage products peddled to the soundtrack of one way or another. If you can get past that there is a lot of kinda fun probably good to see live but not great to hear recorded music. its ok

This reminds me so much of Jay Reatard. Listening to this album it really struck me how much of Punk or whatever this is classified as is mythology as is skill. This is a really competent fun, energetic album as good as buzzcocks or joy division to me. It seems what makes this genre timeless is all the palest women of each ethnicity wearing their merch. So maybe the adverts is just a bad name or they have bad merch, but I feel like they belong up their with their peers.

So from what I remember there were 7 questions and I got about 20 minutes of prep time. Question 1 was why am I a good fit went into punctuality and that question 2 was about what skill is best and I said analytical. Question 3 was about inclusivity in workplace question 4 was about time management question 5 was about independent and group work question 6 was about a task I’d never done before and how it worked and question 7 was can’t remember good album

From the opening sonic moment the production of this album almost made me crash my car. The shrill laser beam vocal volume hurt my head. Not to besmirch the newly deceased but just awful.

I have listened to this album so many times and this is the first time I've been old enough for it to make sense. This is Bob Dylan at his most fun and accessible with all the JUDAS electricity.

This album is more about sonic textures than lyrics--that much is for sure. Like most Blur I'm a fan but not a superfan. I like most of what I hear here but don't love it. It's good but not attention grabbing. He gave us Gorillaz though.

This album is so dumb, the lyrics so ridiculously stupid...so why does it kinda rock. Despite all my best knowledge, I like this album a lot and it's fun and has a lot of energy.

This is a tough one because I never enjoy black men singing about how horny and sensual they are...just not my thing! I'm trying to run on the treadmill I dont need to think about you licking someones ear or whatever. Anyway, I digress I feel like I'm supposed to like Marvin Gaye more than I do and I really don't its kinda boring and bad. However "Distant Lover" is cool and I suffer through the pretty bad horny music to try to analyze James Jamerson's basslines which are nice.

This one is tough to judge, the production is great, the sound of the drums and the beats are cool. Vocals remind me a little bit of Dido or Haim but feel unnecessary kinda soulless and get in the way of the music on first listen. It feels like something really good is here but the lyrics kinda get in the way.

It's not a 5 for creativity or ingenuity or anything its a 5 for a very specific homework kinda safe vibe. Parade a banda made it a 4, actually took it to a because at first i thought it would be like a safe to leave on vinyl record while you drink coffee with anybody but that mood shift is abrupt and strange and would probably come on right when youre trying to cum and ruin the whole thing

A really fun album from my favorite era of music. Onie is a nice song it reminds me of Velvet Underground.

There's some really cool drum parts here from Ginger Baker here and the music is mainly cool but it's more like something you would find edgy and fun at a coffee shop but slightly banal and formless in headphones.

This album made me think about a gay guy getting sucked off at a rest stop and thinking to himself, "isn't it wonderful we still have 3rd spaces?"

Reminds me of Queen and Radiohead. Ambitious, sprawling and kinda lacking in soul or identity. There are some moments that rise to the level of cinematic, operatic rock (Knights of Cydonia) but there is also too much little drummer boy snare drum heavy ballads. THe word ambitious comes to mind, and for some reason Jared from Subway. Except in this case when he's holding up his pants he isn't showing how much weight he has lost-- he is showing how much further he needs to go before he can fill them up.

I consider myself a big Bowie fan but this album seems to take away from his legacy and honestly kinda suck.

I suppose it's culturally significant as the Library of Congress thinks, but in terms of its placement on this list I think it can be removed. I don't see it having meaningful influence on current or future generations.

It's a great album in terms of energy and the bass is really cool. Not sure it's something that I would be able to listen to without feeling silly. It feels like it was an influence on Steely Dan or vice versa at points. It's pretty ok.

High 3, low 4. The mixture of dorky and cool mixed with the prog length and change within a song makes it hard to have it make an impact. There's cool sounds in it but due to the abstract structure it's really hard to remember.

Great crowdwork, album captures the feel, energy and sweat of really being there. Good energy, not memorable music.

This is why I use this site. I was ready to think it would be gay and Id hate it. Well it was gay but I liked it. The bass is great, the opening organ from the very beginning is epic. I love the electric piano, drum machine and bass that come together to sound like suites of unused n64 music. Fantastic album color me surprised.

It's really weird to think I was completely aware of this album at the time of its release but could just never find a physical copy or a quality album torrent at the time. Still sounds really great years later

I honestly didn’t think I’d like it that much it’s a really good album until around “easily” where it becomes like a second album of songs that suck ass. Wish they would have trimmed it to like 9 songs then it would be a 5

I feel like personally I have fallen victim for the general repugnance society and cultural critics seem to have for this time period in America. General discourse seems to have gone from Cash being a respected musical figure to kind of like an overrated hack based on albums like American IV (which I stand by as sucking ass, could be Rick RUbin the fat fraud's fault). Regardless and digressions aside i put this on today ready to have an opinion but quickly taken in after Folsom Prison Blues ended by the energy this record captures of positivity and humanity. Cash shines as a natural showman and entertainer, veering almost into children's host sing along hour at points. He has the prisoners joyful and having fun when he says a CUSS. Honestly it reminded me a little of my own time in the psych ward. It reminded me that even if you commit a crime or are in a low point you deserve to have something to look forward to. It reminded me of that feeling of wanting desperately to go home and having nowhere to run to. In this case, I feel like as an act of humanity and good will this album is amazing. On top of that his voice sounds so smooth and good here.

I can't believe an album this contemporary from such an old band at this point is still so good, has no filler tracks and manages to do exciting new things sonically. I like the Smiths better but they done been dead for 20 years and we hear the bullshit Morrisey puts out
