Popular Reviews

The Man Who by Travis

The answer to the question, "What if Keane had a Bends-era Radiohead phase and did very little to hide it?"

Seventeen Seconds by The Cure

Super goth and dark, but also reminded me of modern dream-pop-y bands with the chorus tone on the guitar. Yes, I realize the Cure came first, but that's just what came to mind. A Forest is really good.

Time Out by The Dave Brubeck Quartet
Mar 26 2021

Knew about half of the songs before. Classic album.

Imperial Bedroom by Elvis Costello & The Attractions
Mar 30 2021

I'd forgotten how good this album is from front to back. Two songs from the cooking playlist, too. Such a great record.

Aqualung by Jethro Tull

A little theatrical, but still pretty cool. I'd have to give it another listen I think.

Murmur by R.E.M.

Young Americans by David Bowie
Jul 23 2021

Bowie's a god, but it really felt like every song consistently went on 2 minutes too long.

Viva Hate by Morrissey
Jul 24 2021

Suedehead is a classic, the rest didn't hold me quite as well

Elastica by Elastica

New age Wire

Surf's Up by The Beach Boys
Jun 13 2025

Very hit or miss. Some great ones, some absolute trash

Hot Fuss by The Killers
Jun 14 2025

The first half of this album is banger after banger

Definitely Maybe by Oasis
Jun 16 2025

Definitely the best thing I've heard from Oasis. Still Oasis.

xx by The xx

Appetite For Destruction by Guns N' Roses
Jun 12 2026

Just because it was very important to me as a kid. I couldn't get through more than 4 songs this time around.

Nevermind by Nirvana
Jun 19 2026

This album put guitars in so many kids' hands. Mine included.

Punishing Kiss by Ute Lemper
Jul 05 2026

Very cinematic. Not really my taste though

Bubble And Scrape by Sebadoh
Jul 08 2026

There is a 4-star 40-minute album in there somewhere

Rocks by Aerosmith
Jul 10 2026

The perfect halfway point between 70s and 80s rock. I was not excited to listen to this album but I was incredibly pleasantly surprised. This goes.

Dookie by Green Day
Jul 11 2026
Beggars Banquet by The Rolling Stones
Jul 18 2026

Two incredible standout tunes, then the rest is a little mid

Ace of Spades by Motörhead
Jul 26 2026

Lemmy was a legend, but "jailbait" made my stomach turn.

Traffic by Traffic
Jul 27 2026

Honestly thank God I didn't grow up in the 60s.

Dirt by Alice In Chains
Aug 06 2026
Tago Mago by Can
Aug 07 2026

An incredible case where half of the album is a high 4 and the other half is a low 2. First half is great but Jesus is the second unlistenable

Machine Head by Deep Purple
Aug 08 2026

I actually liked that a lot more than I expected to. Could do with a little less wailing, but it's got its place sometimes

System Of A Down by System Of A Down
Aug 10 2026

Probably a little more than I could take, but very well done

KIWANUKA by Michael Kiwanuka
Aug 11 2026

Phenomenal. Richard Swift meets Khurangbin. Loved it
