Liquid Swords
GZAAwesome. Favourite tracks: 'Liquid Swords', '4th Chamber', 'Shadowboxin''. 4/5
Awesome. Favourite tracks: 'Liquid Swords', '4th Chamber', 'Shadowboxin''. 4/5
Solid album, but it seems a lot of tracks sound the same.
Psychedelic, spacend, some great tracks ('Ladies and..', 'Electricity') but some parts are a bit too weird ('All of My Thoughts', 'The Individual').
Top tracks: Ex-Factor, Doo Wop (That Thing), Everything Is Everything. A lot skits in between songs. 4,5/5
'Bitter Sweet Simphony' remains a classic. Some other good tracks, but also some generic stuff. Overall ok-ish album. 3/5
Solid country album. 4/5
Not really my style. Can appreciate the significance the album had for the dance scene though. 2/5
Great album! Love George Harrison. Stand out tracks are 'My Sweet Lord', 'What Is Life', 'If Not For You'. Liked the (Apple) Jam sessions as well. 5/5
Not a fan of Morrissey, not digging his (whining) voice. Musically a solid album tho, with some good tracks. 'Bigmouth Strikes Again'. 2,5/5
Solid blues album.
Ok-ish album. Not great, not bad. Not really a fan of Neil Young. 2,5/5
Love Marvin Gaye. 4/5
Awesome album. 'Somebody To Love' and 'White Rabbit' are absolute classics. 'Today' is also a beautiful song. 4/5
Pretty good album. 4/5
Great album! Listened a lot to it when it came out in the early 00's. Still know a lot of the lyrics :) 'Patiently Waiting' with a great contribution from Eminem. 'Many Men' is a good track, 'In Da Club' a classic. 'If I Can't' great beat. 'Wanksta'. 4/5
Great album with some classic songs like 'Green River' and 'Bad Moon Rising'. CCR at its best.
Not a bad album, but not really feeling it. Not liking the quiet/loud production. 'Rub 'Til It Bleeds' is a pretty good song. Really bad version of 'Highway '61 Revisited'. 3/5
Nice background music, lots of tracks sound the same though. Tough to rate. 2,5/5
Bowie is a mad genius. The more I listen to his music the more I appreciate it. Liked the tracks 'Watch That Man', 'Drive-In Saturday' and 'The Jean Genie'. 3,5/5
Very good album. Favourite track are 'Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground', 'Hotel Yorba'. 4,5/5
Pretty good album. 3,5/5
Not really feeling this one. Well produced, but not a fan of Cee-Lo's voice to be honest. 2/5
Pretty good album. Gets a bit whiny sometimes tho. 3,5/5
'Take On Me' is an absolute classic. 'The Sun Always Shines on T.V.' is also a good song. Rest of the tracks are pretty boring. 2/5
Ok-ish album, a bit boring. 2,5/5
The track' Green Onions' is an absolute classic! Very good instrumentals of some classic songs as well. 4/5
I enjoyed the first 2 tracks, nice guitars. Third track was a bit boring. 'Down by the River' was my favourite track of the album, the fact that most of it was instrumental definitely helped. 3,5/5
Didn't know a lot about Talking Heads, but they have quite a recognisable sound. A lot of tracks are catchy. Liked 'Take Me to the River' a lot. 3,5/5
I quite liked this album. The man can play some serious trumpet. Makes me want to watch Jungle Book again :) 4/5
'A Forest' is an absolute classic. The album overall isn't bad, but not great either. 3/5
Not bad, but didn't leave a lasting impression on me. 2,5/5
Didn't like it. Didn't like it at all.
Beautiful album! Some great Dylan songs; 'Blowin' in the Wind', 'Masters of War', 'A Hard Rain's a-Gonna Fall', 'Don't Think Twice, It's All Right' and 'I Shall Be Free' are some of my favourite Dylan songs. 'Girl from the North Country' is also a great song, but I prefer the version as a duet with Johnny Cash. 5/5
Liked some songs more than others, but overall a pretty good album. 4/5
Album starts a bit slow, but there are some beautiful songs on it. 3,5/5
I liked the flow of the album. Overall it was good, but not great. 3/5
I love Willie Nelson and I really liked this album. 4/5
Absolute classic. There's not one bad song on the album. Love it. 5/5
Creedence! Awesome album with a lot of hits! 'Lookin' Out My Back Door', 'Up Around The Bend', Who'll Stop The Rain' and 'I Heard It Through The Grapevine'. 5/5
I was a bit hesitant going in this album, but I actually quite liked it. Some really good arrangements. Not sure this album needs to be on this list though. 3/5
He has a nice flow, pretty nice album. Although I won't listen to it again I reckon. 3/5
Ok album, not bad but definitely not great either. 3,5/5
Not really a fan of her voice. Musically it's quite solid but her singing ruins it for me.
Rock & Roll! 5/5
Dusty Springfield is a marvellous singer with a beautiful voice. 'Son Of A Preacher Man' is an absolute classic, but the album features more great songs. 4/5
Not a big fan of Jazz, but this album was actually quite good. 4/5
'Smoke On The Water', 'Highway Star' and 'Lazy' are great songs. The whole album is pure Rock & Roll. 5/5
I like Air, but this album doesn't do it for me. Maybe it helps if you have seen the movie, which I did not. 3/5
'Welcome To The Jungle', 'Paradise City' and 'Sweet Child O' Mine' are absolute classics, but the other tracks on the album are also good. Awesome guitar play by Slash and Izzy Stradlin. 5/5
She's a good singer and the album is well produced, but it's not really my taste. 2,5/5
I'm a bit conflicted about this one. Not a big fan of Madonna, but there are some good tracks on this album; 'Ray of Light', 'Frozen', 'The Power of good-Bye'. But also some tracks I thought were too weird and I didn't like; 'Skin', 'Shanti / Ashtangi'. Overall the album is too long. 3/5
Better than I expected. Not a huge fan of Neil Young, especially his voice. But there are some beautiful songs on there. 3,5/5
Nu metal at its best. Really solid debut.
I don't know about this one, all those bongo's are getting on my nerves. 2/5
Really like this one. 4/5
Not really feeling it the first couple of tracks. Album sounds well produced but it's a bit too experimental for me. 3/5
What a performer! I love James Brown. Album was quite short, and the screams from the crowd were a bit annoying at times. But definitely enjoyed this one. 4/5
Very complex but good album. Some great guitar riffs. 'One' is one of my favourite Metallica songs. 4,5/5
Not sure about this one. Not bad, but not great either. Maybe it needs more listens. 3/5
Not a bad album, but most of the tracks sound the same. 3/5
Wauw! The title track alone is worth 5 stars, what an opening to an album. After that the beautiful tracks keep coming, one after another. 5/5
Beautiful album, especially the first half is very strong. 5/5
3,5/5
Better than I expected. Of course I new 'Hallelujah' which is a beautiful cover. And I was also familiair with 'Lilac Wine' and 'Grace', but there are many more good songs on this album. Quite some different styles as well, which I liked. 5/5
Wauw, what an album. Love it! 5/5
I remember when 'Babylon' was released as a single and it was everywhere. It did not withstand the test of time if you ask me. Overall pretty boring album. 2/5
Solid album. Favourite tracks: 'The Age Of The Understatement' and 'My Mistakes Were Made For You'. 4/5
Top tracks: 'High And Dry', 'Street Spirit (Fade Out)'. 4/5
I knew her by name but never really listened to Fiona Apple. Some beautiful songs on this album, the fact she was only 19 at the time makes it even better. 4/5
Not sure about this one. Kinda liked the first track, but got a bit repetitive real soon. 2,5/5
Nope, doesn't do it for me. I like (some) electronic music, and don't have anything against tracks over 20 minutes. But could just not get into this one. 1/5
Awesome album. 5/5
Opening track ('Instant Hit') was pretty nice. Cover of 'I Heard It Through The Grapevine' was ok-ish. Not sure about the other tracks tho. 2,5/5
Beautiful! What a singer, I love Otis. Favourite tracks: 'Ole Man Trouble', 'Loving You Too Long', 'Rock Me Baby'. 5/5
Yes! Favourite tracks: 'Search and Destroy', ' Gimme Danger', 'Raw Power'. 5/5
I actually quite liked this one. Favourite tracks: 'Cemetery Polka', 'Big Black Mariah', 'Gun Street Girl'. 4/5
Never really listened to Rush, but they are sure some fine musicians. Very good album. 4/5
'Don't You Want Me' is of course a classic. The opening track 'The Things That Dreams Are Made Of' was also a good song. Although I get the significance of this album it's too much synthesizers and 80's for my taste. 3/5
It's a good album but I couldn't really get into it. 3,5/5
Liked it. Not the greatest album ever but a nice listening experience. 4/5
I've heard of T. Rex but never really listened to them. Really liked this album. Great opening track ('Metal Guru'). Also liked 'Rock On', 'Telegram Sam', 'Rabbit Fighter'. Very catchy songs. 4/5
'Let's Stay Together' is the best track on this album (by far). But I also liked 'La-La for You' and the cover of 'How Can You Mend a Broken Heart'. Overall a really nice album. 4/5
It was ok. Not much wrong with it but didn't really resonate with me. 3/5
Not sure about this one. There are some good tracks on it, but others I didn't liked. 3/5
Difficult album for me. Some tracks I didn't like, but other I did. But definitely something I did not have heard before. Favourite tracks: 'Closer', 'Hurt'. 3/5
I appreciate the historical significance of this album for music in general and Hip Hop in particular. But the album feels a bit outdated. Title track 'The Message' is still a very strong track though. 3/5
Yes! very much liked this one. Especially liked the guitar parts, had to accustom a bit to the singer's voice. But overall really good album. 4,5/5
I'm not a fan of Coldplay, don't really like Chris Martin's voice. Yet, 'Yellow' and 'Trouble' are quite good songs. 2/5
Mediocre at best. 2/5
I liked it. 4/5
I'm not really a Jazz fan, but I do like Bossa Nova and I liked this album a lot! 4/5
I liked it. Nice country album. 4/5
I don't know about this one. I mean, Ravi Shankar definitely has historic significance and influence on western music. Sort of liked his explanation, but it also interrupted the music a lot. 50 minutes of the sitar became a bit repetitive for me. 2,5/5
Beautiful album. I've heard of the name Nick Drake but was not familiar with his music. Definitely a nice discovery. 5/5
4/5
Did not enjoy this one. 2/5
'Black Hole Sun' is on my favourites list, but this album contains a lot more awesome tracks; 'My Wave', 'Fell On Black Days'. 4,5/5
Awesome album, I love Janis Joplin, what a singer. Favourite tracks: 'Summertime', 'Piece of My Heart', 'Turtle Blues' and 'Ball and Chain'. 5/5
I liked it. Great opening track 'Girls & Boys'. Also liked 'Parklife'. 4/5
Not really feeling this one, don't like the singers voice. 2/5
Tough one. Think this is a bit too experimental/prog rock for me. However, I did enjoy listening to it (mostly). 3,5/5
Liked it. 4/5
Good, but not great to be honest. 'Eight Miles High' is a very good track tho and my favourite of the album. 3,5/5
Beautiful album. 4/5
Awesome. Favourite tracks: 'Liquid Swords', '4th Chamber', 'Shadowboxin''. 4/5
Was not really feeling the first 5 tracks of the album, but the 2nd half was very strong. 'Without You' is a beautiful love song, 'Coconut' is also a classic and I liked 'Jump Into The Fire'. 4/5
I don't know. Randy Newman is a good songwriter, but this whole album feels a bit 'middle of the road' to me. No my jam. 3/5
Awesome! 'The Wizard' is my favourite track from the album. Also liked 'N.I.B.', 'Evil Woman' and 'Warning'. 5/5
I don't know, it's not bad but the first couple of songs all sound alike. Rest of the album did not get better so didn't really get into it. 2/5
Great opening track. Overall nice easy to listen blues. 3,5/5
'Sabotage' is an absolute classic. Also liked 'Sure Shot', 'Get It Together'. Second part of the album was a bit weaker with too much instrumentals, but overall really liked it. 4/5
I understand the historical significance of this album, but not really my jam. The title track was ok tho. 2/5
Irish Folk Punk. This music is perfect to listen to at a festival or in a pub with a couple of beers. Nevertheless, I still quite enjoyed this one. Favourite tracks: 'Sick Bed of Cúchulaínn', 'A Pair of Brown Eyes', 'Dirty Old Town'. 4/5
Liked it a lot, some great beats. Really loved a couple of tracks, but others made me a bit nervous. 3,5/5
'Superstition' is an absolute classic, 'You Are The Sunshine Of My Life' is also a good song. The other tracks didn't really grab me. 3/5
Liked the beats. But thought some of the lyrics were a bit childish at times.
Not really listened to Bowie before, but I'm starting to like him more and more. 4/5
A bit dramatic, had to get into it but it is a beautiful album. 4/5
I don't know about this one. I mean, it's good, but not really my cup of tea.
Pretty good debut album. Great opening track! Although there are a coupe of classic hits on the album, I'm not digging all of the other tracks. Favourite tracks: 'Running with the Devil', 'Ain't Talkin' Bout Love'. 4/5
Ok-ish, easy listening but did not really left a lasting impression since most songs sounded the same. Their version of 'Mr. Robinson' was pretty nice though. 3/5
Not sure about this one. It's not bad but I couldn't really get into it. Felt a bit over the top. 2,5/5
Solid album. Favourite track: 'Superfly'. 4/5
