SZANah super disliked it. Lyrics were so vapid and just did nothing. Lot's of N-__a and P---y in place of actual lyrics and meaning. Overproduced and underwritten.
Nah super disliked it. Lyrics were so vapid and just did nothing. Lot's of N-__a and P---y in place of actual lyrics and meaning. Overproduced and underwritten.
I think my music taste is broken because I actually really enjoyed this. Listened to this a few times. Reminds me of old school playstation 1 racing music which was weirdly nostalgic for me.
A bit one note. Enjoyable but it dragged on too long
I'm not super versed into jazz. I'm a barely casual enjoyer of the popular stuff. I like other Coltrane albums but this feels super weird and erratic for me. With runs going on for a long time to weird places, hitting accidentals that throw my ears off. Everything is purposeful in his album but the language he is speaking in, I'm not fluent in.
I wouldn't put it on myself but I wouldnt turn it off if it was
Started off strong but it really got a bit samey towards the end. As individual songs I'd give it a 4 but as an album it's a 3
Much enjoyed it. Some great songs on there. Waterloo Road is a 10/10 song. But the middle of the album reall had some stinkers on it. But I think overall when considering the state of the music landscape aroudn the time of release, it's an impactful album.
Super enjoyable. Gave it a second listen. Did blend into one at some points but I didn't mind as it was what I was looking for regardless.
Brilliant. My favourite so far. For the time this was punk af. Defo led the way for the mid 70's punk sound we all know. Good songs, good singing and good playing.
Dire. No other words. Truly terrible. Idc if its groundbreaking for electronic music for years to come. Only ground it broke for me was the first album in this list to get a 1. Would give it a 0 if I could.
Feel harsh for saying it but I didn't like the majority of songs on it. I don't think slipknot is for me. Gematria was amazing though and in my regular rotation of songs now but the rest fell flat for me.
Yeee that's what I'm talking about. This is the good stuff. Great tracks, put together brilliantly. I'd give it a 9.5 overall but seeing as I can't do that I'll have to round it up. F. Song = Jigsaw Falling Into Place
Meh. All songs blurred into one to be brutally honest. Ice cubs lyrics were funny but this album isn't for me.
Was good. But not really my thing. McCartney really impressed me with his vocal performance on Oh! darling. But this kind of music isn't for me. I see how massively influential they were and how they shaped so many genres of music I listen to. But I think I just prefer the newer forms of the genre.
Wish.com Santana I felt. I only had 9 of the songs from the album as I couldnt find any others due it being unavailable in the UK, assembled from random covers and amv's. Wasn't too impressed with the sound, first song was kinda good though. Weird Arab/Latin america/ska/reggae vibes. Might as well listen to Santana where it's done better.
Amazing. A tonal shift from the misogyny of Ice Cube. Talk about genuine heart. Lauryn Hill is one of those legendary figures in the rap and music industry that had a significant impact on so many artists nowadays. Some amazing singing chops on this album. F. Song: Ex-Factor
A little to art rock for me. Very pretentious as well. Didn't connect to me on any level. Which is a shame as I like "I'm not in love" and "Dreadlock Holiday". Feels like the UK steely Dan. F.Song : The Wall Street Shuffle
Honestly weirdly enjoyed it 😅. F.song : Laughing
Maybe it was completely unfounded but I genuinely had a visceral hatred of this album which is a masterclass in performance if they could invoke that emotion in music. I think I hated it the most so far and I don't know why
I like it. Some good songs on there. Wasn't a huge fan of the opener due to them chanting "Chic" for 5 minutes it got boring. However it's cool listening to the riffs that made it's way into different genres of music. Like the opening riff on the opening song was used in "Fatman Scoop - Be Faithful" F.Song : I Want Your Love
Just nothing but depressing power pop. I liked the upbeat songs but man I found this album hard to get through
I thought the instrumentals were fantastic. But man does Mike Pattons voice leave no impression on me. It's very nasally to me and I genuinely dislike his voice.
Wasn't a fan. An hour of the same song going over and over again with the same riffs and with the same dreadful singing. Maybe I want part of that generation when they were huge but none of their music stood out to me.
Was okay. Heatwave was nice to listen to but man did it drag. Didn't care too much for the vocals. Not my kinda thing.
Definitely good Psychedilic Rock. But I'm not a huge fan of the song themes. I know its a tongue in cheek allegory to the commercialisation of the musical landscape but I still find the songs annoying. There are a few stand out songs on the album. I feel like I always like The Who songs more than The Who albums. F.Song: I Can See for Miles
It's interesting. I super enjoyed the mixing and the soundscapes Miles Davis created in the album. I did find it however too long, too manic. It struggled to get the point it's trying to make across. It's very Jazz Fusion, his answer to the rock music that was blowing up at the time. Miles Runs Voodoo Down was his answer to Jimi Hendrix. Great album and one of the greats of Jazz Fusion but man did it struggle to make a point in succinct. "If I had more time I would've written a shorter letter"
Really enjoyable. Good songs. Good writing. Murder mystery was a little weird but a super good album. Might have to listen to more of their stuff.
Fantastic album. Amazing story and reflections on the life and stories of Kendrick as he grew up. With some good songs as well and good beats.
Brilliant dance album. Super enjoyable. Amazing dance tracks and how it was produced is nothing short of incredible. It does drag on a while after but some funky tracks. F.song: Since I left you
Honestly it's whatever. I have no strong feelings each way towards it. It's just forgettable. I had it on but nothing grabbed me.
Very very good. Never paid much attention to billy Joel but he had some amazing tracks on here. F.song: The Stranger
I bought it on vinyl. That is all
Not for me. I went in with an open mind but I think this music is too different from western music for me to find enjoyment listening to it. Nothing wrong with the music itself it's just not my thing.
Didn't like nearly as much as the other album. I had to stop myself from falling asleep.
Super enjoyable. More than I thought I was gonna like it. It surprised me as I knew super grass from their more britpop psychedelic songs like Grace and Alright so I wasn't expecting a more punk sound but I think I preferred this sound over their future albums. F.song: Richard III
I defo think they put their best song first. Rest of the album was okay but the first song is a classic. Still a great song.
Beige. Just boring. Just nothing. No thoughts. No excitement. Just an overwhelming sense of beige.
Wasn't a fan. I liked revolution but it feels like a child got hold of a delay pedal and decided it's the 60s again and did copious amounts of acid and then hit record.
Not their best. I very much enjoyed Park Life so I was hoping for more of the same but it didn't hit the same to me. F.Song: Advert
Excellent album. I only knew a couple beforehand but the rest were as good as the ones I know. And heart of glass is a pop legend so im glad the album lived up to it. F.Song ofc is Heart of Glass
Great album. I knew a lot of the songs beforehand and didn't know they came from the same album. Super enjoyable. F.song : Papa was a rolling stone
Couldn't get past song 2. I hate country.
Not a huge RnB fan but it was enjoyable. Well done songs. Wouldn't listen again.
Honestly I can see why people didn't like it. The songs did feel indistinct but ngl I had a lot of fun with the album regardless. It didn't take itself seriously and I really enjoyed that aspect of it.
Wasn't too bad. Not a huge want to listen again. Still not my kind of music but I didn't actively dislike it. F.song: Riders on the storm
Could've dropped this album in the 70s and it would be right at home. Quite boring, nothing new introduced. Not quite sure why it was on this list tbh with you there are much better british indie albums around this time that deserved a spot more.
I think I've come to the conclusion I just don't like britpop.
Album feels simple. There was nothing that stood out to me. Just kinda dragged along.
Genuinely enjoyed it. Good rhythms. Great background music. Don't have a favourite song I just loved the album as a whole
Nah super disliked it. Lyrics were so vapid and just did nothing. Lot's of N-__a and P---y in place of actual lyrics and meaning. Overproduced and underwritten.
It's nothing but explosive Grindcore jazz in your face. I definitely felt the emotion they wanted to portray but my god this was a hard listen. I couldn't finish it. I don't even have a favourite song as it all felt nonsensical.
In a huge disagreement with my father but I bloody love this album and deep purple. Gillan was always my favourite singer in this band and the only reason I'm giving it a 4 is because I prefer In Rock more.
Just generic 80s pop. Didnt do anything new or exciting that warranted to be on this list.
Just kinda middle of the pack 60s music. I kidan enjoyed it more than other sbut not enough to give more than 3 tbh
I was shocked i knew a lot of the album. Weirdly enjoyed it but still not what i'll listen to normally
Singing was awful. Lyrics weren't that great. Couldn't carry a tune. I couldn't wait till it was over. Don't think there was a single song I considered "mediocre"
Kinda liked it. Nothing I'd put on again but I didn't find it as offensive as some of my other contemporaries did
Yes we get it author. You were so cool and unique growing up you weren't like other boys
Just felt like generic 90s alt rock. Wasn't offensive. Still nothing Im really appreciating as I have to listen to.
It was okay. Wasn't a terrible album. Anarchy in the UK definitely saved it. Didnt hate it as much as i did when i first heard it
I thought I was going to dislike this a lot but found it super enjoyable. It lost me a little near the middle but overall Id say it's good
I concur with my fathers points. It didn't hit me on any emotional level or connection. I Just super disliked it. Only reason I'm giving it a 2 is that the bass work was really good
It seemed like they had a good time making it. Was very bouncy and definitely not standard nu metal. But I never really liked this album. Always preferred their later stuff but even then I'm not a SOAD fan
I think my music taste is broken because I actually really enjoyed this. Listened to this a few times. Reminds me of old school playstation 1 racing music which was weirdly nostalgic for me.
Enjoyed it. Not as much as the other one but still found it nice to listen to. Some good tunes.
Very much enjoyable. I had a good time with this album especially surprising that I knew a couple of songs off of it. Nice smooth soul/funk that I would put on again.
It got a bit samey after a while. Not a huge fan but didn't outright dislike it. Don't think I'd listen to again.
Honestly super disappointed. I know it's supposed to be minimalist pop and it's the exact style they went for. But it just felt empty. Lacked a heart to it. The vocals were also bored of their own music. Intro prepared me for an interesting album but the rest of the tracks didn't follow the same intro.
Wasn't too bad actually I kinda liked it. Felt like a better SZA. Very experimental instrumentals and I liked that I couldn't guess how the song was gonna go. Also liked her voice. I don't think this will go into my regular rotation but I didn't hate my time with it.
Solid album. Not much that blew me away. But classic 90s sound.
Couldn't get past his voice. What a waste of a les claypool feature
I think my music taste is broken.
Was expecting me to not like this but I find it enjoyable. I wouldn't turn it off if I get it but it's not something I'd seek out. Nice songs and a good voice. Enough variety where I didnt get bored
Layla is definitely Claptons magnum opus. The rest of the album is half decent as well but man what a great song. Shame that Eric is a massive twat and an awful human
More of a poet than a songwriter. But man is be just so depressing and dreary. Try going out a bit more might find a DnD group or something.
Honestly didn't like it. I do like some Bowie but this wasnt it for me. Didn't hit any high notes. Was mediocre.
The subject matter is still relevant today but man was every song the same. Wasn't much of a difference from track to track.it all became one. Nowhere near as tight and cohesive as Fear of a Black Planet. However the Anthrax and Public Enemy version of Bring tha Noise has bumped it up a star that was great.
Very samey. Quite fun but songs blurred into one
Wasn't excited about it. Feels like B sides
Super strong opening but the album lost me about halfway through. I don't think they reached anywhere close to their first song and I've given it this rating just for that.
Well produced nothing. All felt the same after 2 songs. I was expecting the same and I got the same. Super disappointed.
Enjoyable. Bit long but genius of love is a great song
Not for me. Liked the first 4/5 tracks then I just fell into a deep lull. Also really don't like Bonos voice
Again middle of the road. I didn't find it super special. Wasn't terrible had a good voice and good guitar playing but aside from that it was just. Mid.
Amazing production. Felt modern even though it was from the 60’s. And genuinely great songs. The slow build up was worth it and it rides itself the perfect amount. The spoken word segment was a little too long but aside from that a great album.
Wasn't a huge fan of genesis and this didn't change my opinion on em.
I like the blues but this wasn't it for me. Felt a little soulless to me.
This truly is a rock bottom for me
Surprisingly good. Half the tracks were meh to me but the other half had a little merit. Not enough to put it up there but enough for me to not turn it off if it was on.
Great album. Great from front to back. Definitely worthy of it's position in regards to it's legacy and status
Not their best work. Or even up there rbh
It's always great when you're given an album by people you've never heard of but the songs you've definitely heard of. Great album. 4/5 for That Lady alone
Focused too much on the messages and artistry and ignored the music itself for me. I understand what they were going for but it lacked substance.
Plodded along. Not a fan of this kind of stuff and this wasn't the album to change my mind on it.
Super uninspiring. When people say the 1900s had more unique music than current era I'm gonna show them 90% of the albums from the 60s alone
Amazing. Great songs, great musicianship. Awful vocals but they grow on me to the point where I love em.
Surprisingly good. Starting to get some nice stuff now
Back to mediocrity. Not my thing
Legendary singer. Every song was the exact same but they were all pleasant to listen to.
How in the god damn did this shit make it on this list.
Unremarkable
More indie. Not for me. Nourres would love this though
Yeah. Definitely a genius.
Another truly dire album
Great prog album. Not up there with Court but definitely a great album
I probably would like this more if there were at least one or two upbeat songs. But kinda felt the same and plodded on. But I like Damon Albarn so it gets a higher score than what I would've given it normally.
The story behind the band is more interesting than the music itself
A bit one note. Enjoyable but it dragged on too long
I liked the first song but afterwards it just got too patriotic for me. And none of the commentary
Twat
Actually really good. Great introduction and put together brilliantly. Very well liked.
Very good psychedelic rock. Very weird but very enjoyable
I like some porterhead but this really isn't my cup of tea.
We get it author. You love Morrissey
Absolutely stroke of brilliancy. One of my favourite albums of all time. Subterranean Homesick Alien lives rent free in my head until I die.
Great voice
Was okay. Not a bad album but not something to write home about
Great Jazz. But struggled at the halfway mark.
It's the Ramones. Great punk album.
Very lazy vibes. Good music but definitely feels like something they had to get done in an evening and then smoke their 50th cigar
I like the fusion of western and Indian music. But I think with a little bit more editing and mixing this could've been something more special. A little long for the psychedelic era.
I don't think I've ever sit down and listened to it fully before. Amazing album but I didn't realise how long each song was. 8 songs in under an hour. It felt padded out after a while.
Could never get into Zappa. As much as my father would've liked me to
Honestly love this type of jazz. Always had a spot for Dave Brubeck.
You do not walk alone. Reports of my missingness was merely exaggerated. That being said this was middle of the road for me
Surprisingly liked it. Im a fan of alt rock either way. But this was really good
I like White Stripes but Jacks solo stuff doesn't do much for me. I think he shines when hes more restricted in what he can and cant do.
Honestly super enjoyed this. Felt like Massive Attack met Dream Pop
It's Jimi
Great album. Probably my favourite by rush
