It was fine for what it was
Solid 80s soft rock, a la, Phil Collins. Definitely will listen again
Good old timey jazz
Good early 2000's indie rock. Definitely worth another listen.
Very early 2000's. Didn't do anything specific for me.
I am a big Bjork fan so it was fun to listen to her debut album. It definitely sounds very 90's and not her fully formed self. Good reminder to listen to some of her other stuff.
Very cool. Early 90's female soft rock. Worth listening to other Suzanne Vega albums. I liked Knight Moves.
Definitely old timey (40s and 50s) jazz. Not my music at all.
Very Green Day. Not my kind of music.
I really like it. Gives me The Cure vibes. Ended up listening to the whole thing twice. I really liked Providence
I really enjoyed it. Good classic 70s rock. Now I know what Stairway to Heaven sounds like. Would listen again
The sound is quintessential Radiohead. Lots of songs I didn't know. Will definitely be listening again.
Fine. Early 90s female rock. Not for me.
Easy disco/funk. Would probably listen to again.
Good 70s rock. I really liked Toy in the Attic. Solid music.
Very ecclectic and worth another listen. The album has a good mix of different kinds of sounds.
Good 90s British Rock. A la Oasis and Hootie & the Blowfish
Not my jam. Not much to bring me in. It sounds like the start of 80's synth but not in an engaging or compelling format. Meh
Good album. Quintessential Doors
70s Punk Rock. Clearly identifiable sound, but didn't resonate with me personally.
Cool dance and techno music with some other stuff thrown in
It was cool 60s. Sounds were a little varied from song to song. Only got one listen. Nothing specific stood out.
Good music. Probably wouldnt go out of my way to listen to again, but I get the appeal. Favorite song was Try and Love again.
Good sound. 80th sinth and a little futuristic. Definitely worth another listen!
Fun 70's rock. Short album, so a very easy and enjoyable listen. Should definitely listen to again
Not my kind of music but I can see the magic there. Its that 70s/80s Mr. Rogers kind of jazz.
It was Queen sound. Probably wouldn't listen again.
Interesting notes. Very clearly Led Zepellin. Most likely won't listen again, but if it comes up, I could see myself enjoying it.
Very Talking Heads. No song stood out to me.
First song not great. Got better. Lots of funky sounds. Ska music that just didn't quite go there enough. Two songs I liked: International Jet Set and Do Nothing.
Its classic 70's rock a la Motley Crue. Just not my music.
Good album. No specific songs stood out.
Good sound. Very 90's burgeoning mainstream rock. Some good songs.
Early 60's jazz. Good music. Not my jam. I can tell that it's solid jazz.
Interesting portuguese/tribal/cumbia type music.
Fantastic album. Have listen to it 100 times before. Great reverb, soft sounds and a unique sound. Definitely their best album.
Lots of different music sounds. Felt a little like schizojazz. I liked the first half of the album better.
Nothing of note. Not for me. I did realize that You Cant Always Get What You Want is a Rolling Stones song, which I did not know.
I like this album. First half is better than the second. I forgot that I love the song, On Top!
Fine, but not my kind of music. very early 60's rock feel. No songs stood out.
Sounds like Elton John but no songs stood out. I was mostly bored.
Early 70's rock. Undistinguishable from other artist's of the time. Not really for me.
Good band. Some of the songs are more memorable than others. I was expecting to like it more than I did. Overall, the album is on the slow side. No specific songs stood out for me.
Fun 70's hits. No songs particularly called to me. Not sure I need to listen to this album again, but definitely another of their albums could be cool.
Enjoyed it. Listened to the whole thing twice.
Really nice and interesting sound. Just came across Cocteau Twins and I am a fan.
Good album. Signature Fleetwood Mac. Doesn't have any of my hits
90s calfornia surfin like Sublime but a little more rappy and not that interesting to listen to. Nothing there for me.
Interesting kind of ethereal/outer space/time travel music. Maybe there's something there? Maybe a different album?
Fantastic album. Fantastic band. It went on repeat three times and I enjoyed it every time. I'm a big fan of Yeah Yeah Yeahs anyway, but the album truly is unique and worth many more listens.
Nirvana's greatest. The first three songs are banging. A couple of other goods one interspersed. Favorite song is Come As You Are
Lots of great songs. I would definitley listen to the album again. So many recognizable hits along with other songs that could have been hits as well.
Nothing exciting here. Second half of the album was better but still not my jam.
Good Album. Some interesting songs. Some blah songs.
Early 70's rock. Not my jam at all.
Some good jams. Original Daft Punk with their signature sound.
Not anything that stood out for me.
Lots of songs I've heard before. One new good one that stood out for me: Do You Wanna Dance. Spanish Harlem is an old favorite.
The sound was recognizable as Prodigy and it was semi-enjoyable to listen to. No songs stood out to me, but the two classic were immediately recognized and appreciated (Smack my Bitch Up and Firestarter) and felt very late 90's. Would probably not listen to again as no other song was remarkable.
Fun, beachy hits (definitely has a Beach Boys aura) with some funky eclectic songs thrown in. Worth another listen.
Very Bob Dylan. Liked it overall. No songs stood out but I would listen to the album again. A lot of people complain about the sound, but it just sounds like Bob Dylan.
Really cool sound. Definitely listenable. I was afraid it might be a little too death metal but that was not the case. Definitely worth another listen.
Jamiroquai has a very unique sound and this album is all him. Good jams for in the background. But all the songs kind of blended into one another.
Really good songs. Really good beats. Definitely feels like the early 90's rap era. Worth another listen. Fav song is I Don't Wanna Be Called Yo Niga
Cool sound. Great voice and worth another listen.
I probably won't listen to this album again. Very Neil Young. Solid music all around. I liked Cripple Creek Ferry
Not my particular favorite. Although a lot of the songs had a softer sound that traditional queen. The album starts off more mellow before going into Queen "funk" and I like that aspect.
Rammstein style German rock....not my jam....
Some real funky stuff. Most likely wont listen again. Favorite song was Extended Souvenir
Irish 90's folksy rock. Nothing made me want to listen again specifically. I did enjoy the sound and vibes overall.
Great album and fantastic voice. I already know about Big Iron (such a favorite) but also found Saddle Tramp (so good) and El Paso. Will definitely be listening to this again.
What a great album. Classics like White Rabbit and Somebody to Love are truly good. Embryonic Journey is so prevalent in media and its a surreal sound that you want to be immersed in. Found a new Jefferson Airplane favorite, Today. Fantastic song that you could play on repeat. Comin' Back to Me is good as well. Will definitely be listening to this album again.
I liked this album. Good early-mid 90's softer type rock. The guitar strum is so recognizable to the era along with the intentional lyrics that speak of times and people gone by. Best song is Western Sky. Honorable Mention: Jenny
Real punk rock. The first song was a little much and I didn't want to listen to the rest of the album. But it got better with every song. It had a very clear punk sound but also included the quirkiness that comes from Australian musicians. Favorite is Memories are Made of This. Will definitely listen to again!
Good jams. Really easy listen and clear music themes.
What a cool band. Album starts off strong with Roundabout (best song) and moves smoothly through. Will definitely listen again.
Such a good album. Easy early 90's hip hop with a through line. Good jams all around. Worth many more listens
Really really like this album. Great early 90' sound and good storytelling. So real is my favorite on the album.
Yes. This is an album. The sounds here are both all over the place and clearly centralized. You can clearly hear a theme that runs through the album. Great bookend songs.
Very interesting album. Lots of varied musical styles and a rhythm all its own. More musicians should experiment with sounds and tempos. Not my personal kind of music, but very laudable in its ambition. First half was more entertaining that the last.
I could get down with this. Definitely worth another listen. Favorite song was Be Thankful for what you've got. Should also listen to other Massive Attack albums.
Very John Lennon. Only song that stood out as memorable was Oh Yoko! But I wouldn't call it a favorite. Too poppy and not enough of an interesting sound. Will probably not listen to again.
Fine soft psychedelic sounds. No songs stood out to me and told me to play it a second time.
I can see why people enjoy it. It would have been better suited for a different period in my life when I would have resonated with it more. Sun King was my favorite.
Solid early 70's rock. Great background music with some interesting sounds. Very par for the course for the time. Would listen to it again but no songs were especially remarkable.
Classic Bowie. Great songs that you definitely want to hear again. Alladin Sane was the best song on the album.
Absolutely fantastic album. There was a clear theme throughout and you could tell that they were operating at 100% in their writing and producer. Definitely a unique and innovative sound that still fit within the rap genre but dared to venture into some new sound territory. So Fresh and So Clean is the best. Gasoline Dreams and We Luv Deez Hoez are also great.
Solid rap and some recognizable tunes. Too much vulgar language for my particular enjoyment. Everyday Struggle is a good jam
Fantastic album. What a voice and what originality in sound. Favorite is Black is the Color of My True Love's Hair
Good Cat Stevens. Exactly what it's supposed to be.
Interesting sounds. I was able to focus on my work. No stand out songs though.
Not bad. Not my sound but I can see some general appeal to the quality of musicality on the album.
Smooth eighties, verging on some smooth jazz, but then low guitar that signals a harder edge on the back end. Worth another listen.
Fantastic album with tons of great hits. The musicality is unique and uses a wide variety of instruments and sounds. There are better Jorge Ben Jor albums but this one is still great!
Good stuff. Very recognizable easy listening of a certain era. Vietnam War vibes all around. Worth another listen. Who'll stop the rain is my favorite.
Gives me great 80's vibes. I was not familiar with them at all and would like to hear more. Kelly's Blues was my favorite song but there would be other good ones.
Too much for me. Not the worst but not my style. Would be one star but I like the inclusion of the interview on the backend. Kind of cool.
I can see the appeal and the music quality if high. Just not my genre. But really a great voice!
I can get down with this groovy album. Definitely worth another listen.
Interesting sound. I had never actually heard Portishead's music and was surprised by the soft sounds and musical lilt. Not bad.
I had never heard of Scott Walker but I really like this album. So very good! Favorite song is The Seventh Seal.
It was fine. Not much to write home about and not screamo music
Great songs, great sound. All around such a fanstastic album. Also, its my childhood so you can't beat the nostalgia.
Blues is just not my jam. But I can see the talent.
Easy listening. No notable songs.
Good music and definitely a real early 80's rock vibe. Most likely wont listen to this again just because that's not my preference.
Thrash is just not my thing. Probably wont ever listen to this again. But I can at least now say that I know what Anthrax sounds like.
Good background music. No songs stood out though. Would listen to it again but probably won't seek it out.
Great album. Will definitely listen to it again. No specific song stood out for me.
Such a great album with an ethereal sound but really great instrumentals. Great coming back to this.
Cool late 80's R&B/pop sound. Listened to it twice. Liked Manchild and Buffalo Stance.
Great background music. I am a Neil Young fan. But no specific bangers or standout songs. I was really hoping to find a new Neil Young favorite.
Heavy metal is not my kind of music. But I did listen to the whole thing and I could see the musical talent on the guitar. Most likely will never listen to it again but it could have been worse.
Good easy listening. Feels very Eagles with that early 70's easy rock sound. Will most likely listen to again.
Great album. I was not familiar with Dusty Springfield at all and that seems like a crime. What a great voice and what a great interpretation of that 60's sound with a wide range of songs and killer vocals! Will definitely listen to again.
Sounds just like Alexi Murdoch. Very easy listening with just strong vocals and background guitar. Will definitely be listening to more Nick Drake.
Just a little all over the place. Its not bad, I just couldn't really get into it. It has some Sublime and Shack and The Specials vibes and I can see some merit to the movability of the music. But I don't think I ever need to listen to another Coral album again.
I really like this. Super easy listening. Definitely need to listen to this again. Also there is an acoustic version and it is sooooo good.
Not my kind of music. I can see how it was the sound of the mid 80s though. Very big hair, big guitar, big music. Probably wont listen again.
A little more punky and rock and rolly than I was expecting. Not sure that I would ever be pulled to listen to it again. Maybe a different album. I liked The Happening the best.
This album is absolutely fantastic. So many great songs I can't pick a favorite. The songs fit seamlessly together and you can hear the ingenuity in the sound. She is so creative and has a real strong musical perspective. Perfect album!
Really great jazz. Really great sound. I can see how this hits the spot for jazz aficionados. Not anything I need to come back to but if its on I will definitely enjoy it!
Good music. I can feel the beat and can get down with it. Favorite song is You be Illin
Great album. Very unique sound to Fiona Apple and to the mid 90s. Has deep singer songwriter vibes. Will definitely listen to it again. First half of the album is better than the second.
Good funky Beatles. A Day in the Life was a memorable song.
Fun, funky early 80's sound. Worth another listen and probably some other albums as well. It has sounds from late 60s and 70s rock but also a very 80s sounds plus bits and pieces that have influenced 2010s indie rock sounds. Very versatile.
This wasn't bad. I can see the musicality and talent for the genre. Not my particular jam though. Higher than a 2 but not quite a 3 star.
What an album! Definitely a new and interesting sound and I didn't even realize what was going on. I would definitely call this art and would say there is something special here. These are people trying to create something new in the world.
Its Nirvana. Heart Shaped Box is the quintessential Nirvana sound and Rape Me was enjoyable although the actual lyrics are a bit too much for a Tuesday afternoon trying to get work done. It's good but I don't know that I need to come back to this.
This is disco. The songs are so well written with incredibly danceable beats and great rhythm. This is an album that I will be blaring on my speakers while I clean the house. He's the Greatest Dancer is my favorite, special mention to Lost in Music and Thinking of You.
Great album and great sound. Only song that really stood out for me was Spellbound. Other greats but no notables. I think there may be some better Souxsie albums to listen to.
Music's okay. Gives me The Doors vibes. I like The Passenger but no other songs really stood out. Would probably not listen to it again. Plus, all the songs sound like they need some fine tuning/refining of the sound.
Not much there other than its good background music. Late 70's easy rock but nothing to grab me in. No notable songs that stood out.
Great album. Great reflection of a true disco album. All the songs are great. At 8 songs, this album is perfect for a little touch of disco in the day without drowning in endless songs. I Want Your Love, Savoir Faire and Chic Cheer are standouts
Album is good but not revolutionary. Heroes is good as is Blackout. Would probably not seek out this album to listen to it again.
I like this. Great Americana feel with intentional lyrics and a real message. A little bit of Bob Dylan but leaning more into the folk country arena. Very listenable. Listened to the whole thing three times through.
Love this album. The first song pulled me in right away and I wanted to listen to more. Absolutely must listen to again as well as other of her albums. The music feels so familiar. Stolen Car is my favorite
I like this. Good DJ vibes but also just interesting rock vibes. Sunworshipper was good and so were a few others. Listened to it twice. Worth another listen.
meh. its country, its blues, its easy 70s rock and roll. I listened to 1.5x through and didn't feel like I need to listen to again. Probably ever. Nothing to bring me in
Easy listening music. Great to have in the background or for light afternoon parties. Samba is alive and well.
Meh. Late 60's rock. Very much the sound of the time. No songs stood out for me. No need to listen to again.
Smooth jazz for a specific listening session. I was not in that session today. Another meh for me.
Sounds like Aerosmith and other rock bands of the late 80's/early 90's. We get it, you're rebels without a cause. Nothing to write home about. No songs for me. The music isn't bad, it just doesn't have its own point of view.
Great listen. Could play on repeat and enjoy every time. Coldplay hasn't really been in my repertoire too much in the past but I can see the appeal. Loved Sparks, Yellow and Trouble.
Okay, I get it but I don't really like it or need it. 90's sound and right for the era but not for me in 2024
I enjoyed the album. You want it darker was probably the best song in my opinion. But it seemed limited to where you would only want to listen to this in a very particular time and I can't even think of what that time is. I do however want to listen to more Leonard Cohen as I know he's super talented.
I can totally get down with this. What a fun album with great musical talent. I just kept thinking, this is so listenable. What fun and talented artists.
Good album with lots of different sounds. I see there's a strong jazz influence along with soul and r&b. Favorites were Unhappy and Reset. Probably didn't need to be a 2 disc album but good nonetheless.
I liked this and I listened to it twice through. It was a 3 after the first listen and I thought it might be a 4 if I listened to it again. But still a 3. Easy funky rock/dance vibes. Very LCD Soundsystem, so it tracks. Sound of Silver was the one that stuck out the most to me as good background music.
Maybe I'm just not in the right mood for this today. It was a little too much "down in the bayou" for me. When the album went back to the start, I immediately was like No, one run through was enough. I like Cosmo's Factory better.
This is bad. Not the worst thing ever, but actually kind of obnoxious. I had never heard of Syd Barrett and maybe that's for a reason. Trying to give me Iggy Pop, David Bowie, Beatles vibes, but just missing the mark.
This is fun. Good r&b sound and she's got a good voice. Frontline and Onanon were my faves. Will definitely listen to again.
I liked this. The post-hardcore, low down reggae vibes were enjoyable all around. Twice listened and much enjoyed.
Fantastic album. Listened to the whole thing straight through twice. Perfect length for a double album. The songs kept moving creating a cohesive through line. Loved all the iterations of Another Brick in the Wall. This is the Pink Floyd album. Worth so many more listens.
What a lovely album. I was already a big fan of Neil Young's Harvest moon and this album gave me more of that American, smooth folky rock. Running Dry was my favorite but the whole album really was a pleasure listening to.
Same great Neil Young voice and overall sound. This has a little more rock influence in it that comes through but it still feels like Neil. My my, hey hey was my favorite.
Good, enjoyable, of the time. Nothing new to tell but fine for in the background. I guess I did like the monologue snippets
Something fun and light. I enjoyed it. Two discs may have been a little overkill. It has a very specific sound and the female vocals sound similar to another artist that I cant quite pinpoint. Worth another listen.
Yes! Great music, great beats and catchy tunes. I knew about the Go Gos but this album shows that their best songs are not the radio plays "We got the Beat" and "Our Lips are Sealed". Best song by far is Automatic and Lust to Love was great as well. Yes to the Go Go's.
What a great album. I loved it from beginning to end. Such great musicality across the board and a really easy flow from one song to the next. Nothing felt disjointed and all of the songs felt necessary to the album. The opener at 11min is daunting when you look at it, but it really sets up the album for success by giving you strong instrumentals and new arrangements.
Solid 1.5 stars but I'm rounding up to 2 because 1 is too harsh. It all melded together and I didn't want to listen to anymore. Very forgettable. The biggest thing going for it was the fantastic amount of camp on the cover art. It was very misleading as to what the music was.
