I like the funk genre, but not to listen to all the time. Some of the songs were enjoyable listening music, and songs like Promentalshotbackwashpsychosis Enema Squad is something I am not used to, but was an interesting experience. I liked Maggot brain a lot. The guitar work was real nice.
I enjoyed this album, given that I've never listened to 70s music in English. It has a really good country and nostalgic vibe. The instrumentals are pleasant, I enjoyed their use of the bass. I especially liked Run Through the Jungle and We'll Stop the Rain. Overall, pleasant album to listen to.
It was chill, not really my vibe. It was a quick listen.
Loved this album. My first exposure to the Pogues, and I am upset I have lived this long without knowing about them. I saved If I Should Fall from Gace with God, Bottle of Smoke, Turkish Song of the Damned, The Battle March Medley, and South Australia to listen to often. Loved the use of drums and accordion. Definitely fits the Irish Folk Punk classification, three things I enjoy.
Honestly, I dislike it. It is not meant for listening on it's own, but it's redeeming quality is the fact that I recognize the influence of the experimental shoegaze instrumental nature in movies during sad/emotional/melancholic scenes. It's the type of music I imagine playing through one's mind and soul when getting high (not in a good way, but like in a movie scene when someone is trying to escape super depressing thoughts). Point is, this music has it's place, and it is not for easy listening. Unless I want to feel depressed while watching a movie scene, I don't want to listen to it. I'm giving them stars for influence and quality, but I do not ever want to listen to it again.
Let's Stay Together is a classic song, so there's no debate there. As for the rest of the album, it was a pleasant listen.
Love the vocals and the vibe of this album. I expected some rage or even hippie-type album given the title. I feel like it was leaning more blues/jazz. I really enjoyed the instrumentals. Overall, great musicality. I saved 58 Blues, War is Coming, and The World is a Ghetto (rehearsal take) for later listening. I can't match the title to the music, so I'll have to read up on it.
Mining for Gold is such a great listen. The rest of the album was fine. It was an easy listen, but the classification as rock did not fit as much as I would have expected. It had more of a blues vibe.
Reminds me of the Beach Boys, who I know came after. Overall it was a pleasant listen, I enjoyed the early rock style. I saved a few songs for later listening. I love the crooning, it's definitely a great romantic album, but I guess that fits with the title.
I am not a fan of the singing style nor the music in the first two tracks. Bad start. Not a fan of the electronic sound overall. I liked the rock notes, and her voice is nice. Overall, the album has a 70s vibe. That is the standout. I think she's signing in falsetto for most of it, and I am not a fan of that either, as it does not showcase much, unless the voice is just meant to be instrumental to complement the music. I'm giving this a star because overall, guitar work is good, but I didn't like anything else.
Very short album, but I definitely see the influence on Rock & Roll and Elvis. It's not something I would listen to on repeat, but definitely starts for influence.
Love this album and the classic sound because the vocals remind me of Sinatra. I am a fan of ballads and crooning vocals, so this was a pleasant listen. Great vibe and use of an orchestra. The lyrics are silly, but with love songs, you gotta be unique sometimes lol
I had to look at the lyrics to give this a far review, since I couldn't understand the lyrics half the time. As a fellow rager, I can appreciate the message and heavy metal sound. This is perfect when you feel angry (which I do often). I haven't listened to Slipknot or heavy/death metal in the past because I worried about the messaging and the darkness of it, but this album wasn't too bad. I've read their other stuff is more intense.
I love Sinatra. This is an easy one. Great sound, great vocals, smooth, easy listening.
It has a classic 90s rap sound. Overall, great album, good lyrics. I'm not a fan of some of the miscellaneous sounds that get mixed into some of the 90s rap albums.
I enjoyed the album, it was a pleasant musicality, and beautiful vocals. The scatting in Twisted was uncomfortable and unpleasant.
I am not into electronic music, but this album was ok. Some tracks were good. It's mostly easy listening, but not my cup of tea to listen to at a club or in general.
This was definitely not what I expected. I personally enjoyed the album and the string instrumentals. I think given its decade, it's an overall great album.
Classic rock sound. Definitely saving for later listening.
I liked "Metamorphisis." Overall, that was the only enjoyable song, and sounded skillful. The second half of "Sagar" was nice. The rest of the album, I did not find as pleasant to listen to. Sitar music mostly makes me feel chaotic, while the album seems to be going for a psychedelic and relaxing vibe. Not really a psychedelic-leaning music fan.
Aretha is great. Overall good album, but not my favorite one.
Overall, I liked it. I'm not into country, but there's a pleasant nostalgia that comes from Willie's style in this album. I definitely saved a few songs for later.
Jazz is not one of my top favorite genres, but I loved this album. Its smooth for sure.
It has good musicality, it's creative, and has skillful bass, but overall not my favorite. It was mostly chill to listen to. I thought it was creative and I can see why some hipsters might enjoy this. The meows had me loling. I think it's very much true that he doesn't take himself too seriously. There was also the iPhone alarm sound in Friend Zone.
She has such a great voice. Very 50s/60s style. I loved several of the songs in the album. Since it is a lot of covers, it does knock it down. I listened to the original versions as well, and Dusty did a great job. To play devil's advocate, I think we can honor the merit of covers, since sometimes covers can be better than the originals, or take creative twists which can be enjoyable. In this case, Dusty did not change much overall, just covered them well.
I can see why this was used in soundtracks. It has a few good tracks for clubbing to, and I definitely felt like I was in a movie because it's some great tracks for movie scenes when characters are in action scenes, montages, and so on. This album could really just be the entire soundtrack to a silent movie where the music flows with the actions of the characters. Essentially it's good for listening to, has an upbeat vibe. Overall great for 1996.
The entire album was great. The last song definitely had a country and folk vibe.
The strumming is a little repetitive in some of the songs, but overall, I enjoyed the rock sound. Not really fan of the talking instead of singing in Turn Blue. I can definitely listen to album multiple times, and saved most of the album for later listening.
I understand that the background vocals bring a vibe, but it was too much for me. I do agree with the Apple Music summary; his approach to discussing social issues is relaxed, light, and gentle. I enjoyed the piano and sax. I did like the album overall.
I love the title track. The album is full of bops. The only thing I disliked was some of the repetitive nature of a few songs.
I enjoyed it, it was really short and an easy listen.
Very classic chill country vibe.
With ABBA, things are very formulaic, but mellow with great harmonics.
It was enjoyable and an easy listen.
I enjoyed it, it was very smooth and pleasant. Unfortunately I don't speak Portuguese so I hate to dock it down to four stars for that reason. Otherwise it would be five, but Idk what it's saying.
It was overall not bad, but not my favorite jazz like some of the other albums I have heard. Not as smooth as I usually enjoy.
I love The Beach Boys, BUT it was a little tough listening to this entire album because some of the songs sounded too similar to each other. I generally enjoy their musicality, but I like to mix it up. Overall, their album is great for including in a PCH road trip which I hope to do one day. Just shuffled in with other albums.
I loved it. First couple of songs are such bops. Good rhythms, interesting collabs, and chill lyrics. I enjoyed the upbeat songs in particular, with a good use of the accordion. The slower songs were good, too.
A lot of the songs sound the same. Although I like the overall sound, but it is very much like waiting room music.
Caligari's Mirror was unpleasant to listen to... I did not enjoy the sound experimentation in Thriller! either. This was definitely some sort of experimental music, and I am just not a fan.
He showcased his vocals pretty well. Overall, for a live album, I did not love it.
Loved it. Straight up banger start to finish.
Honestly easy listening but was kinda boring.
Enjoyed the album overall. I don't think it was their best work though. But good overall. 4.3/5
I love the use of Mariachi in Across the Border, and Mr. Blue Sky of course, since I recognize it. It was like a crossover of the Beatles and ABBA, but didn't love the whole album.
It was definitely a weird album, but I did not dislike it. It was all right. I liked 2-3 songs, but the rest was all right.
I love her talent, but I feel like the music/producers/beats do not do her songs justice. There's a few bangers in here, but some of the songs she overdoes her voice thing (her signature singing style). It's great, but it's too much on 1-2 songs.
I listened to the first 20 tracks (there were two CDs I think, so I did not listen to the second one). Overall, great jazz album, especially since it was live but I don't like all jazz, and I did not like this one too much.
Pretty chill listen. Overall, good vibe.
It's a much chiller ABBA album, I really liked it. Not as many hits as the last ABBA album, I got, but pretty good.
I enjoyed his cover of Hallelujah, for sure. For the rest of the album, I did not love it. I could listen to it as background music, no problem. His vocals are pretty impressive in Corpus Christi Carol. I like the rock sounds, but overall, I did not like the vocal/sound combo. It wasn't as musical as I prefer, which I know is more my preference.
I enjoyed the album, since I heard its hits back in the early 2000s. I loved Assassin a lot as well as Knights of Cydonia. Loves the strumming overall.
I thought this was easy listening for the most part. Indie/alternative vibes. Did not dislike it, but didn't love it. I hated the vibrato/vocals at the end of "you could be love" (which may have been a bonus track).
I was surprised it was from 1990 because the sound quality was great. Overall, pretty chill for an alternative album.
It very much sounds like a soundtrack for a drama. Either tv episode or movie. Overall did not dig the sound aside from it being an enjoyable sountrack.
Overall, I liked it. It was pretty chill.
It's great music for listening to at a coffee shop while working. Outside of that, there were some good songs I might want to listen to again like "I'm so Proud/Ooh Baby Baby/etc."
I loved some of the bops on the album. Overall, I didn't know she had so many instrumental songs.
Banger, start to finish. I see why this album is such a big deal.
It was a nice listen while I drove and walked in the morning.
The cymbals were a little too much on the first track. Otherwise, I liked the album overall. I loved the vocals from In Love With You. It was a pretty good track.
So difficult to go wrong with Queen because vocals are amazing, melodies are great, and instrumentals are great.
it was a very classic rock vibe, which I like. The sounds were kinda repetitive within most songs, but that made them pretty chill. I would definitely listen to this album on a road trip.
I only liked "The Sound of Someone You Love..." until halfway through it went into its weird sound. Not really a fan of things that aren't smooth.
I love this album, Adele's voice, and the melodies.
Some of the classics by U2. Love the overall rock sound.
Overall, lovely beats and great voice. I think he was singing in his native language? I had to google what languages he sings in, and I found two, neither of which I speak or understand lol I like the changes in tempos and beats within a song because otherwise they would be too simple and repetitive.
Overall, I liked it. It is a great album for listening to at a coffee shop.
I can appreciate a good rap album, with good lyrics and good beats such as this one. Not a fan of the torture dialogue they had. Otherwise pretty good rap album.
These music videos were something lol I like her lyrics and beats. 3.5/5
I enjoyed this album. I usually do not like experimental stuff, but this was good.
Not really a fan of the beats in the first song. Too much funk for my enjoyment, but the vocals are great. As for the rest of the album, it was beautifully soulful, lyrical, and melodious. Loved it. 4.5/5
These are some really good bops. Real good album.
It was a jazz vibe. It was all right. Didn't love it but did not dislike it.
This is my kind of rock sound. I liked it a lot, but I didn't think it was 5-stars. Maybe like 4.3.
I love the beats in the entire album. Even though I don't understand the words, the music is great. Loved it.
Not really digging the lyrics. The beats and rhythms were good. Pharrell did better as a solo artist with his pop music, at least in the singing.
Overall, pretty good Elton John album.
Pretty good album for 60s rock. Lyrics were entertaining and some of the songs were pretty creative in their instrumentals.
Not a fan of the singing style in London's Burning. Otherwise, overall catchy album, good tunes.
I really enjoyed some of the songs on the album. The vocals are impressive. I liked What's her face. She had some T-Swift vibes towards the end of the album.
Album was not too bad. Definitely hear the 80s/90s rock vibe. I can imagine this playing today in a roller rink or at the mall. Some solemn sounds, but overall chill vibe. Not something I would listen to very often. 3.3/5.
Duran Duran has some bops, like its big hits, but overall, the electronic sound are a little too repetitive. I did not enjoy it as much on songs like Last Chance on the Stairway. Aside from that, overall a fun album to listen to. 3.5
Love the guitar work and the singing/rapping is great too. The overall vibe is great, and exactly what I like.
I like the overall vibe of this album. Very chill, and great sound for it's time (early 90s). Great album but not quite amazing. 4.5/5 so I rounded up.
Overall an OK album. I liked some songs, but I did not like the funk in International Jet Set.
Overall, it was good for a live album, but not great.
I enjoyed the album, very much my type of music, but the singing in Drunken Butterfly was unpleasant lol
Loved it! Definitely my type of sound. It is a very 80s sound with Hard Rock. 4.5 so I rounded up.
I see why people were mad at Eminem, calling him a misogynist despite the disclaimer, which I thought was funny initially. Definitely knocked down a star for the lyrics alone. He definitely has better music than this album.
I like the sound of the album.
The album was pretty good. I liked the strumming. Nothing too special otherwise.
Not particularly unique. I like The Scientist, but overall, the album was kind of boring.
First song was too long and repetitive in its sections. It could have been better had it been much shorter. Some of the songs have Beatles vibes, and overall 60s vibes, which tracks. This album was way too long and I only enjoyed small bits of it.
I really enjoyed this chill vibe. It was soothing, calm in its tonality, and pleasurable.
Overally pretty great album. I love the start of it.
It was a pretty easy listen during my commute. Not memorable, I didn’t realize when it had stopped playing to be honest.
The singing was not the best part of the album. The music was all right, but the talking/singing was not something I am a fan of, but I know it's appealing to some. It is great music for just chilling with a 70s vibe.
Very chill, smooth. I did not dislike it, but it's not for me either.
Love Missy Elliot overall. It has some bops, but she has great musicality overall.
The beginning of the album reminder me of SNL's transition music lol. Overall an enjoyable jazz album, but not among my favorites.
Loved the soul and depth of her voice. Good musicality.
This album was funky, as in all over the place in style lol
I enjoyed this album overall. Very chill.
Quite an easy listen. Points for nostalgia and how much it sounds like it would be used in a 90s film.
This album was very chill, but not something I would listen to often. Too much falsetto turns me off as well.
He sounds so old for being so young when this album was produced, but I know he was a smoker for a bit. Such a classic sound, he really did have a big influence in music.
I really liked the album instrumentals. Enjoyable and such a vibe. Definitely good perspective on what 80s/90s rock sounded like.
It was very chill, so much that it kinda made me sleepy, taking the murmur aspect to a whole level lol I was driving, too. Not helpful, but great for listening if trying to relax.
Typical pro-weed Reggae album. Definitely enjoyable listen.
Enjoyed overall, very cinematic vibes for some of the songs.
Love the rock sound, to be honest. I liked the Bonus tracks a little more (I know they're not part of the album).
I liked this one better than A Rush of Blood to the Head which I did not like. This one was less boring, but still very typical of Coldplay. Very chill, which I like. I know why the songs are popular, they are a pleasant listen, but overall the album was fine.
Rating this a 3 because although the lyrics are great, I couldn’t understand them or hear them while I listened to it in the car. Some songs are good and nice to listen and engage with, but had it not been for a second listen I would rated a 2.
Such a great album with classics, just sad it was so short. There's potential for more, for sure. I want to give 5 stars for it's landmark nature, but it didn't quite have the fire that I look for in 5 stars.
If you are looking for a classic 70s sound that is stereotypical of the vibe of the decade and psychedelic sound, this album fits. Not my cup of tea.
I like this better than the last Beatles album I got. Felt more enjoyable, despite not having many of the hits.
I enjoy the sound. Great for just chilling or a road trip. Overall pretty great for an album in the 60s. Worth saving to my 60s playlist.
Witches Hat was an unpleasant listen. The cover picture for this album looks like a straight up cult living in a commune. Such a hippy look lol Overall decent album for the nostalgia. There were some good songs.
Loved it. Plain and simple. Timeless.
Imagine itself is a great song, but the rest of the album was all right. A pleasant listen overall. I didn't pay attention to much of the lyrics.
Honestly, I listed to the first two discs and I can try to finish it later. Overall, it's enjoyable, but as expected by the Gershwins. Boring at times. Ella's voice is fantastic, but the composition is very much what you would expect. Very broadway-style musical writing.
This album is such a bop throughout. Mercedez Benz made me laugh tbh. I feel like not enough albums do that.
Chill and slow. Didn't dislike but it put me to sleep.
I really liked some of the songs, while others were a little more bland. I got Mumford & Sons vibes from Supernaturally on Disc 2.
I did not enjoy it all that much. It felt kind of boring. I see the appeal for listening to in a playlist, but not so much on its own. I liked Fountain and Fairfax more than the rest of the album. The album definitely comes off as angsty and post-heartbreak. The instrumentals themselves are pretty good.
Smooth for sure, although not my preferred genre.
I didn't dislike it. Great for clubbing.
While hip hop/rap are not my cup of tea, I can still appreciate it as an art form. The Beastie Boys are famous for this, but they do a great job or creating an amalgamation of hip hop, jazz, punk, alternative, etc. It was definitely a journey. It was enjoyable, and I see it's value.
These are some of his classics, so it's hard to say it's not great.
I really liked Transylvania. Shout-out to these badass guitar players out here. Great album and a great time for metal. Noice.
Enjoyable. Smooth. Made me so sleepy though, but that's because it was smooth lol
This sounds like a stereotypical electronic album for the 90s at first. Mindfield was enjoyable, and I like the notes of rap/hip hop throughout the album. Overall, I did like it although it had a rough start.
Given the time at which this came out, it gets credit. I like the use of sounds relevant to the respective song titles.
Very solemn, pleasant listen. Such a vibe.
Some of these songs were so unique? I'm not sure what word I am looking for here, but I lowkey liked the harp use in Like Someone in Love. Since it was the 90s, I'll give the album credit for setting up generic club music. Otherwise, I would have given fewer stars.
I love Billy Joel. While this is a good album, it's not quite a 5.
I mean... they made a movie out of this album. Great lyrics (not a fan of the objectification of women though, but sadly that's so common) and catchy beats.
The repetitive beats are annoying with any artist, and in this case, while it gives an 80s/90s vibe, it's only use is as background music at a playground or club. I basically disliked this, but I can see how it made moves within electronic pop. Not sure why Apple Music classified it as rock.
this some experimental shit right hurr. The entirety was not bad, but a few songs were, hence the one star. Unplesant.
I like the classic rock sound, but I did not really enjoy it much otherwise, especially Sick for Toys, it was kinda annoying. It also felt very long. I think this would make for great background music played live at an outdoor patio or something.
Love the chill vibe, this is perfect for a rainy day or reading, driving, or crying.
This album is so long! Overall pleasant electronic music. Some of the songs would make good background music for commercials. I like how it takes from different oldie styles like in Run On. A lot of soundtrack vibes for some of these tracks. No idea how his concert might look like tbh.
Such a smooth, relaxing, enjoyable album. This is the pleasant country, as opposed to the annoying country lol
The beats are very 90s style, but overall too long. The beats get annoying after a while, but I get it was kind of new at the time. I listened to it pretty quietly so I did not pay attention to the lyrics. Only song I really knew was Hey-Ya lol I liked the second half much better.
I liked Swordfishtrombones a lot better. Not sure why Bone Machine was on the list. It was also experimental but unpleasant.
While I liked the sound, the lyrics are too much for me.
It was a good 2-disc album. Smooth listening for sure. Classic sound.
There are some true bops in this album.
I get the appeal, especially for it's time. I like the vibe and I see why people like the talking-style of singing. The lyrics were kinda fun to listen to.
Loves me some blues and metal. Great sound, but not quite a banger. Would add this to my rotation for vibin' or driving around town.
Disappointed to find out he's writing a seemingly patriotic album for Americans when he's from the UK. Sound is good, but made me think of Bruce Springsteen who is better. Sad to hear he's a crappy person. He wouldn't make it in today's music scene tbh.
Love the vibe. I see why Apple Music refers to her twanginess lol. Very chill album to listen to. It feels like having great weather, a gentle breeze on a sunny day.
Pretty chill vibe, but not a fan of the extra sounds mixed in. In general I’m not a fan of those sounds like with Fireflies by Owl Coty and Natasha Beddingfield.
Loved it. Man I was born 10 years too late to have heard this sooner. Love the vibe, what it represents, and the sound.
Some of their songs really have a disco vibe without the funk. Overall, I like the disco x rock combo. Not really my type of music, but I can see why they'd be a hit in their time.
I like the vibe. I am not really into this type of music, but I see the appeal.
I dig the sound, very much formative for the era of emerging Rock.
I loved the creativity of the sound, especially for it's time. Definitely making waves. It was surprisingly lengthy. I would definitely classify it as relaxing enough to listen to while studying or just vibin'.
Pretty chill alternative vibe. Not really something I would listen to again, but not bad.
Such a chill album. Really enjoyed the vibe, easy listening, and musicality. Some of the lyrics were out there lol.
I like it, I see the 80s vibe and hear the sound. Some really good songs on here, just could not listen to some of these songs on repeat.
I really liked a lot of the sounds and the sound. I see where Muse might have gotten some of their inspo on singing style, like in "Black Star." (Nice Dream) was unexpected, but I liked it.
I can see why this was big in the 60s/70s while you were tripping or just hanging out. I definitely do not want to listen to it ever again.
