Bridge Over Troubled Water
Simon & GarfunkelLove it from beginning to end. This is like returning to the womb.
Love it from beginning to end. This is like returning to the womb.
A breezy lil charmer.
This dude. So slick.
Never heard of this band before. I got a milquetoast Coldplay vibe. Like, not awful but not memorable at all.
I canβt help but like this a little because itβs so unabashedly crappy. Itβs like a parody of 1990 electronica.
This album is one banger hit after another. I had this tape as a kid but forgot how loaded with hits it is. Such a solid band and a fun nostalgia listen.
What an absolute balm this album is. Young is a master beyond his years. I wish Iβd been alive in 1969 to experience this in its time. Also, talk about track 1 bangersβCinnamon Girl is so rad!
What was this nonsense?! I am not generally a fan of punk so maybe this is good and Iβm not metal enough to get it? I had a hard time distinguishing among the songs as they all appeared to begin with the same painful wall of noise.
This album is just a vehicle for their magnum opus, In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida, with a few basic trippy songs filling in the other 18 minutes of this album. And that magnum opus was supposed to be called βIn the Garden of Edenβ but the singer was so hammered he slurred the lyrics and here we are today. Can we please bring back the 36 minute album? Thatβs the best thing about it.
When I first saw this band described as βpost punkβ I thought, oh lord kill me now, but I ended up enjoying it. Very REM but less poppy.
Unimpeachable.
Classic. We play this every year at our fam holiday get-togethers.
A couple of really creative and unique songs. I love how piano-forward this album is. But as a whole, Iβd call this album fine, not great.
Base trash.
In 2024 this one no longer sounds very original, but I still enjoyed the listen. He was obviously influenced by Steve Earle.
Not my jam.
I thought this was boring when my parents used to play it but now I like it a lot. Much more artsy and nerdy than Iβd given these guys credit for.
.
Always a favorite. Never get tired of a good olβ listen to this one.
What a delightful surprise! Really dig this. Very chill and I appreciate bands who include instrumental tracks.
Loved this a lot.
I understand why these guys are so influential but scream-singing has never been my bag.
This was painful to listen to. Couldnβt make it through more than a few minutes of a few songs. But I can see how this was way ahead of itβs time in 1980.
.
Surprised by how much I liked this one. He is his own kind.
Love these guys so much. Their big symphonic style is unique and had to be super influential.
Fun dreamy pop. A pleasant listen on a cold walk.
Love it from beginning to end. This is like returning to the womb.
This dude. Swoon. Nobody touches him.
This one is a mixed bag. No doubting Bowieβs massive influence on other musicians
The 90s were a fun time.
Loved it then, love it now.
These guys give me a rash. Not my bag.
Well, they know how to be loud.
This guy is one of a kind but not really my kind.
As an Irish myself, I appreciate the passion here. Loud and hyper isnβt my fav.
More 90s fun!
These guys are not my bag
I missed out on this in 04 but really enjoy it now.
Oh boy. I loved this in 9th grade and was afraid it would not hold up. My fears were well-founded. This was rough.
A breezy lil charmer.
Always love these guys.
This album is special to me. That piano is a cosmic force of its own. And 1971 was a great year for the mandolin.
Sheβs the coolest.
One of the greats.
Wow. What a swell re-listen. Sheβs a poet.
Not their best, though I do love these guys.
Love these guys
Truly awful
Solid gold
Always dig these guys
I had high hopes for the first few minutes but things went downhill quickly
Total banger!
Good lord.
These guys are obviously influential, but punk is not my bag.
I have a lot of nostalgia love for this one.
This album is too thin and childlike to be very good. Itβs a slice of β07 for sure.
This was soothing. I love a good instrumental album. A nice change from screaming guitars and screaming humans.
I liked this a lot more than I thought I would. These slick Brits.
I like her a lot but this one isnβt my fav
One of my fav bands of all time. I recall being blown away by this albumβtotally original. I can see how itβs so influential.
This was a blast
This was on constant rotation when I was 14. Some of the songs didnβt quite hold up. Dude was an absolute virtuoso though.
Smooth, chill, sensual. This one is a constant fav.
Her voice is clear and sweet and raw.
I think Kala is the better album but this one was good too. A couple of head boppers.
The only thing this turd influenced was my gag reflex
Hard to find fault with this one.
Listening to this was a warm hug.
Iβd never heard of this but ended up enjoying the chill ambient sound.
This is not enjoyable to me.
Not ABBAβs best but still awesome. Great music for running or dancing around in private.
This was a fun nostalgia trip but a lot of the lyrics and sentiments are super cringe now. I didnβt pick up on his extreme βI wanna beat and kill womenβ vibe so much when I was 16.
Still slays
This dude. So slick.
This was fascinating. Not something Iβll listen to regularly but swell to expand my horizons. This is powerful activist art.
I have my momβs old vinyl and listen to this one when I want to feel a little happy and a little sad at the same time.
Canβt believe I missed this somehow in β07. Damon Albarn is a genius and I love everything he touches. Gorillaz are one of my favorite bands and while this is not as good of a venture, I greatly enjoyed.
Love these old country albums. Lots of lovin and drinkin and leavin and cryin.
I dug it
Total classic. One of the first CDs I bought from Columbia House when I was a teen.
I love Dionβs classic hits like The Wanderer and Runaround Sue, but this was just mid. Bland and repetitive.
Not my fav among their albums but still, I canβt go wrong with these guys. They rap a lot about their grandmas and cooking and Iβm into that.
Hard to get more influential than this master. Little Wing gets me every time.
Realizing that Randy Newman is not my bag.
The only Cash album Iβm familiar with and still a fav.
Oh boy. Real trip down high school memory lane, and not all in a good way.
Iβve always loved this album because my dad loved it. His voice is raw and sad and I like old sad bastard music.
One of my all time favs. Love these guys and everything Bryan Ferry touches.
Dig this a lot!
One of my fav bands and one of their brightest albums. This album generator thing really loves Radiohead. Iβm not complaining, but sheesh, there have to be some other influential bands from the last 10,000 years.
Started out very promising. Iβve always loved Cherry-coloured Funk but things went downhill from there.
So many comfort bangers.
This was right up my alley in 2010. I still love βTake Careβ in particular but itβs lost some of that dream pop shine over the past 15 years.
This was huge for me in college. It has held up, while Kanye himself hasβ¦notβ¦
Come on, man. I had a rough night and I hate the f@#king Eagles, man!
This was a real smooth experience.
Sabbath were never my jam but I can see how influential theyβve been. This is stepdad music for sure.
This was the jam in high school.
Not as good as Iβd hoped.
This was a pleasant surprise. I couldnβt make it through the entire first track but really liked the following tracks. Smooth and ambient but also like Willy Wonka at times. Something completely different.
