Fear Of A Black Planet
Public EnemyCrazy sampling and texture. Seems to have pioneered that style/approach. Some deep themes, too. A classic for a reason.

Not what I expected. Paul Simon is a genius, but this is lower on the list of his works for me.
Not my usual kind of thing, but I liked how funky this was. Listened while walking around New York, which was an excellent call.
I can't believe I liked this as much as I did. Rock and roll!
I think I like Nick Cave in small doses..? Some great lyrics and genuinely moving songs, but I wanted to like this album more than I actually did. Maybe I wasn't in the mood for it.
Just a ton of fun.
Not for me.
I hope his other albums do it for me more than this one. His voice is grating. Two stars for one or two nice songs and a few good lyrics.
Didn't feel like anything special to me. Fine.
Shawn Spencer knows what's up.
The guitar riffs on this rock. Just a very COOL album.
I've never been a big RHCP fan. And I'm still not, but I do appreciate this album. It's too long, for sure, but it is such a vibe.
I don’t know much about jazz, but I think this was good?
This was awesome.
Total dad rock. Solid, but nothing felt unique. Obviously Smoke on the Water slaps.
I don’t know much about jazz, but this seemed good? I wish I could play the piano. Listened a bit while driving through San Francisco and I felt like I was in a movie.
Over-the-top and theatric.
I'll often click to see other users' reviews before I listen to something and it seems I like all the albums other people don't. Not sure what that means. This was a blast.
Love.
What is this?
Really interesting. Probably not going to be in heavy rotation for me, but I respect it. First female artist I've heard on this list I think.
Nice, pleasant.
Very 80s, but not in a bad way. I liked some of the lyrics and the singer's voice.
These Rolling Stones guys are pretty good.
I really liked this album around the time it came out. Doesn't hit me as hard now, but still some great tracks and fun lyrics. A lot of British people on this list.
80s training montage music.
Reminds me of college.
More dad rock.
I mean, it's the Beatles.
Dope.
It's fine.
I like it!
I'm no expert, but the SOUND of this album is amazing - so much going on, instrumentally.
I don't know, I liked it.
I can see why this is considered a masterpiece.
Not something I'd normally listen to. Glad this list made me. But I won't be listening again.
Feels like pretty generic rock music to me - aside from the social commentary, which, while interesting and important, is pretty on-the-nose. The drums sound great, at least in the remastered version. Cult of Personality slaps.
Pretty damn cool, but also a bit grating.
Yeah, the vocals kind of all sound the same. Sort of..? But these guys know who they are and damn are they cool.
Beautiful, soulful (duh) voice. This is someone I would've loved to have seen live.
Half inventive, half bland.
One of my favorite albums of all time. I wasn't aware of the controversy surround it...will need to read up on that.
Well this was awesome.
