I remember some of these songs from when I was a kid, and I enjoyed those. Otherwise this was pretty forgettable. Pleasant but never grabbed me.
This started out very hokey and boring but grew and grew on me as it went on. Absolutely a banger by the end. Way, way too long, but the peaks are undeniable. The Whale is a standout.
I love Patti Smith so much. Totally biased over here. But really, this is so, so good. There's nothing here as monumental for me as Pissing in a River, but the whole album is just a delight.
It's a bit all over the place, but man when this hits it hits hard. Papa Was a Rolling Stone is an all-time fav of mine, but the entire second half is full of gems. Really enjoyed this.
Exodus, the song, is so good. And Jamming is one I know well too. But other than that this was kind of forgettable. Super pleasant, no complaints, but yeah just kind of background music.
It's live B.B. King... what's not to love? This is great!
This is pleasant. Good music for working. Probably not a surprise as it's meant to be a soundtrack to a film that was never made. Enjoyable, if not demanding much attention.
This was honestly a lot more background music-y than I expected. Still, I enjoyed it!
I am a huge fan of the Phil Collins led era of Genesis, but have never really dug into the Peter Gabriel stuff. Excited for this one!
Unfortunately... I don't love it. It's not bad, but I honestly didn't make it all the way through. This is a miss.
Fun. Uncomplicated. Not really my thing, but very pleasant. I have a feeling I will be drowning in 3s at the end of this project, which I suppose makes sense.
This isn't really my style of music overall, but this is great. So full of life and passion and it's impossible not to get into it.
I am fairly certain I've only ever heard the one single from this. Gonna be interesting! Hah, immediately proved wrong. I know at least two songs! This is incredibly inoffensive unsubstantial nothingness.
Pleasant, if not all the revolutionary for me. Maybe just because I'm not that crazy for things like Pulp, or other sort of British music hall / pub rock.
This is such an interesting album. Parts of it are like early Autechre, parts are almost funky, and other parts are grating. I like it. I don't love it, mostly because of the most abrasive parts, but man I like it.
I mean it's Wu-Tang... what else needs to be said here? The production is early, but spirit is undeniable. C.R.E.A.M. is the absolute standout, but the whole thing is rad.
Early rock and roll isn't really my thing tbh. It's not bad, it's just... boring. But this has a lot of heart, which was nice.
I remember listening to this on my Pure Moods CD in the 90s. The nostalgia factor is high. Until this project I thought this was electronic music, but he played it all himself!
I was lucky enough to see Merle Haggard in concert before he passed, and it was an absolute banger of a performance. He absolutely still had it. This is a treat!
My dad is a big Bruce fan, so I grew up with this music. I like it, but it’s never become my music.
I have always enjoyed the Iron Maiden I had heard, but I never went back to this original album. Fun!
This is way, way better than I expected. Cheesy, yes, but also epic and pretty damn fun.
Most of these records I’ve at least previously heard of. At the very least the artist is familiar to me. Not this one and holy moly this was great!
Feels very Ani Difranco to me. Which is not a bad thing, necessarily, but I didn’t enjoy this one.
Way better than I thought it would be. I don't love it, but I did like it.
My father has always maintained that had I been alive in the 60s I would have been a Stones fan and not a Beatles fan. He's probably right.
Oh man.. December was a big song for me... twenty plus years ago. So nostalgic!
Absolutely no one sounds like Rod Stewart. What a voice! This is fine... if a bit ignorable.
This is a band I basically only knew from one song, and not a song I particularly liked. I was therefore shocked at how good this was!
Hah. One of my all-time favorite records. I have been obsessed with this record since discovering it in college, in the early 2000s, and I remain obsessed now.
Wow. Back to back favorites, this one from childhood. I am absolutely not going to hear this with new ears. I played Being for the Benefit of Mr. Kite so many times that my tape broke.
Ok, we are now at back-to-back-to-back classics of my childhood / early adulthood. I love James Taylor, I love this record. It's great.
Inoffensively pleasant? A bit boring. Very repetitive. So far not much more to say than that. You can sense the potential in his vibe / voice.
Jangly garage punk of the type that the early 2000s loved. Not really my thing. I was never a Strokes fan, and I don't think I'll be a Hives fan either. Vaguely reminds me of The Murder City Devils, but without the sort of dark sailor vibes that make me love that band.
This is fine. I think I'm just not really a Bruce guy, which makes me a bit sad I suppose.
I loved the album when it came out and played it incessantly. I still listen to a few tracks somewhat regularly. A classic.
It's unbelievably annoying how good Bawitdaba is. The rest of this is extremely annoying and long. Like... just so bad.
This is... art... but not really enjoyable music.
I don't think I've ever listened to this album before. I've heard the later stuff for sure, but never this. I enjoy Kings of Leon generally, should be fun. Fun, but a bit generic and boring. I haven't heard a standout song yet.
I can't believe I'm saying this... but this is a bit... boring? I mean don't get me wrong, it's still prime Stevie, it's still good. But it's nowhere near the heights of Innervisions, for example.
Another example of an artist where I know the hits, but have never listened to the records. This is great!
I have never even heard of this band, but they are right up my alley!
I am a Miles Davis superfan, but historically this is not my favorite of his periods. Fun to revisit! Remains the same as always. This is good, but not for me really.
This sounds nothing like I imagined it would... and is honestly kind of rad?
I remember being a bit mixed on this one, but let's see! Nope, still mixed. I can see why someone would love this, but I don't.
This is just me a thing, but I haven't really been able to listen to Michael Jackson since that HBO documentary. Not judging anyone, but it really killed it for me.
I know nothing about this except the name of the band. Nice! Wait, this is where Spiritualized came from?!? Oh wow. This is really good. Not Spiritualized at its best good, but really good.
This feels very British indie rock from 2002. Which is also very much not a bad thing. I was a big fan of a lot of this era, but never heard this band.
Oooh another favorite of mine. Such a great album!
