It’s a classic pop album for a reason. This is my first time listening to an album other than Folklore in full and it lived up to the hype.
A track I really enjoyed was Wildest Dreams. It was a banger and the guitar tone in Style is very catchy. I enjoyed the 2 ending tracks in particular as I know places and Clean have lovely lyricism and production behind it.
Looking forward to the next album to review!- GEMV (10.12.2025)
First album i’ve ever listened to by Dirty Projectors and it was quite good. Loved the prog-rock and psychedelic inspirations for the album as a whole. The album artwork is really interesting as it prompted me to listen to the music as soon as possible.
My favourite tracks were the opener Cannibal Resource, Temecula Sunrise, Stillness is the Move and Useful Chamber. The whimsical and odd lyrics of useful chamber also have a reprise where the albums title is repeated and that alongside the folky instrumentation made me love it even more. GEMV (11.12.2025)

A funky and classic folk rock album, this is the second Bob Dylan album i’ve listened to. You’re a Big Girl now, Idiot Wind and If you see her say hello, were my favourites.
I’m definitely in my folk era now. Looking forward to tomorrow’s album. -GEMV (13.12.2025)

I’ve always admired Shankar’s works from the BBC retrospectives and Proms renditions. It’s a very lovely album that has allowed me to have a small deep dive into Indian Classical music.
They’re all great pieces of music i particularly enjoyed Dádrá and Marú-Bihág- GEMV (15.15.2025)

A nice album, very poignant I enjoyed April 14th, Ruination Day and Everything is Free. As the lyrics for those tracks are very poignant backed by a rock-like folk bg.
I really enjoyed this album all in all. Still thinking about what else I could write about it. I love Gillian Jacobs for real.- GEMV (16.12.2025)

This was such a fun album to listen to, I felt like I was in an 80’s movie!
First we take Manhattan is a very groovy opening track.
I really liked the album but the highlight track was Jazz City, it was such a cinematic experience and the jazz city adlibs??
Rating: 4/5
Was an okay album! Good prog rock but maybe another album by them will pique my interest.
Was a good album. I was busy on the day I listened to it. GEMV
An okay album. Not a lot of it stood out to me but i’ve now listened to William Orbit.

It was. an interesting funk and soul album.
No track stood out to me aside from the opening track, but it was an interesting listen nonetheless.
A good album my first introduction to Costello and The Attractions, this also doubles as my introduction to alternative music in the 70’s and classic punk.
I surprisingly enjoyed the album as I haven’t delved into any music aside from Bowie and more permanente fixtures like the Smiths , Blondie, Talking Heads and the Cure.
The first two tracks, No Action and This Years Girl are my favorite tracks in the album as they set the groovy and partly abrasive tone the following tracks use. However my gripe is that a lot of them sounded quite similar with Costolloes vocals and synths being in a similar key.
That being said Radio, Radio is a good ending track!! (05.01.2026) GEMV
This album was a fun listen it felt like I was listening a psychedelic tinged ‘indie sleaze’ band.
The tracks I took a liking too where ‘When I’m Sleepy’ and ‘Fundpower Plot’.
I don’t really have a proper opinion on the latter half of the album because I need to re-listen. - (6.01.26) GEMV
JUNGLE!! Drum and Bass!!
I like the album cover it’s so cool to see the Gen-X Soft Club / late 90’s graphic style.
Brown Paper Bag’ is a tune
‘Jazz’ and ‘Ballet Dance’ are very groovy tracks and are good to work/study to.
‘Electrickz’ is quite reminiscent of the Sonic the Hedgehog/ SS Tricky/ Jet Set Radio era for games that game later with the drum pattern and shouts throughout.
It’s a great album all in all, I really enjoyed it and will try to check out Roni Size and Reprazent’s work. :Dc - GEMV (07.01.2026)
Good Leonard Cohen album as always.
When I was listening to the tracks in order I felt like I was listening to poetry. Poetry which was neatly nestled into the winter season with a film. - GEMV (08.01.2026)
Very good album I really enjoyed it. The 3rd Mitchell album I have listened to, I really enjoyed the folk rock elements in this album which were present throughout and made a pleasant impression on me.
Track wise I really enjoyed the lyricism in ‘River’ the title track ‘Blue’, ‘Little Green’.
In ‘Little Green’, “the little green have a happy ending” line reminded me of the cyclical nature of winter or the assumed rocky relationship. As it highlighted the changes in one’s life from thorny icicles and birthdays as the main character aims to better themselves.
All in all, this album was very good. 5/5 -GEMV (12.01.2026)
Gothic new wave?!! It’s a very good album I thoroughly enjoyed it. The dark and moody atmosphere built up the by the synths made it feel like I was stranded in an abandoned castle with flickers of light as my salvation.
The dark sound amplified my favourites for this album listen as ‘Disorder’, ‘Day of the Lords’, and ‘Wilderness’ were the tracks I was drawn to the most.
I’ll definitely explore the rest of their catalogue in due course, but at least understand why this album and its cover are so prevalent in pop culture. - GEMV (13.01.2026)
Extremely haunting record which links to a The Virgin Suicides.
I enjoyed this record though, it was quite interesting to listen to the gloomy electronica. It brought out a sinister sense of malaise, coupled with the clipped vocals and droning instruments. I enjoyed ‘Playground Love’ and ‘Bathroom Girl’ the other tracks tapped into the mood of the film. Which to me read as dread and the discovery of something sinister.
To conclude it was a nice listen 3.5/5 - GEMV (15.01.2026)
