1001 Albums Summary

One of my favorite albums of all time. It is perfect, a true no skip album. Cyndi Lauper is immensely talented.

This is my first time listening to this album and I love it.

Long album, but it has some great songs.

I love Pantera. This album has two of their most known songs, Walk and This Love. If you like metal, this album is the jam

This is not really my type of music, but it has some classics that we all know. Karen Carpenter was extremely talented. This album has some great harmonies.

Amy Winehouse was super talented, but this album just really is not my style. It has some catchy jams, but I don't really see what all the hype is about.

Good vibes, but some really dumb lyrics. I’m giving it a 3, but think I’m being generous.

Around the World is one of my favorite songs of all time and takes me right back to 1998 at the Buzz in DC. The rest of the album is good background listening, but nothing extraordinary.

This is my first one-star review. There is no way that anyone thinks this album is one of the greatest albums ever made.

A Forest is amazing. It is the star of the album. The album is good, but they have better albums.

Classic punk album. I love Black Flag.

With exception of one song, this is a pretty slow album. There’s some pretty harmonies. I’ve never heard the last song on the album, which was pretty powerful.

This is one of my top 10 favorite hip-hop albums of all time and one of my top 20 favorite albums ever. I’ve listened to it for 30 years and it never gets old. Five stars all the way.

Great album overall. It has some classics that everyone knows: Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band and With A Little Help From My Friends. Lucy In the Sky With Diamonds and A Day In The Life are two of my favorite Beatles songs. Within You Without You is the only dud on the album in my opinion.

Clearly, they know how to play their instruments well. They just don’t know how to make music. This album was hard to listen to.

This album is no longer on Spotify, so I had a heard tone finding it.

I’ve never really listened to Iggy Pop. I enjoyed this album. Some Weird Sin and the Passenger were my favorites.

I’m way more of a Nirvana fan than Foo Fighters. It’s hard to believe this album came out 14 months after Kurt died. This album has some well known FF songs. Their music is just too blah for me.

This album has some bangers, but is very long. There are some songs that should have been cut. Overall, it is a good album.

This took me three days to get through. I couldn’t listen to it straight through. There are a few good songs. It should have been an album of ten songs and cut the other 59.

This is a classic album with no skips.

I love this album and it has a bunch of excellent songs. I only rate an album five stars if it is flawless with no skips. This is almost there, but not quite. I wish I could give 4.5.

This is a five star album. It’s a no skip, change your life kind of album. Nirvana was my favorite band when I was in middle school. When this album came out, it was so different than everything that had been popular. While I love hair bands, there is something so cool about being part of something new. There had been no mainstream bands like this before. This album contains many classic radio hits, but also some other amazing songs like Polly, Drain You and Lounge Act. I tried to listen to it without my emotional attachment and it is just a great album from start to finish.

From the first song, I kind of knew this album was going to go downhill. I loved and listened to a lot of techno in the late 90s. I tried to be open minded because this was early 90s. They were on the forefront but this album is just blah. It is definitely not one of the albums I needed to listen to before I die.

I am a huge Doors fan. This album has some classics like Waiting For the Sun and Roadhouse Blues. The album is a smooth listen from start to finish.

I actually liked this album better than I thought I would. Prior to this I was not a big fan of the Arctic Monkeys. However, I enjoyed this album.

I love the Pixies!

I really enjoyed this album. I only know of Sza from being featured on other’s songs. I’m surprised by all the negative reviews.

As with her other album, I recognize her talent, but this is just not my cup of tea.

Tangerine is one of my favorite songs of all time and is my favorite LZ song.

Finally, a Bob Marley album. I’m pleasantly surprised to see this album. I expected Exodus. Rebel Music, Them Belly Full and So Jah S’eh are my favorite songs on this record.

I will listen to this again a few times. I haven’t heard of this band or album. It’s very 90s. I like it.

I’m surprised that I don’t know this band as I am very familiar with punk bands and similar genres. This is why I’m doing this- to discover new bands like this. I liked this album. It has good bass lines. I really liked Boy About Town, Scrape Away That’s Entertainment, and Set the House Ablaze.

This is a great album.

This album contains Limelight and Tom Sawyer, which are songs that everybody knows and loves. The drumming is excellent. Overall, I’m not a huge Rush fan.

I love Morrissey, but this not my favorite album.

This album is good. I really liked a few songs. I appreciate how this band’s Frost sound is so unique and you can always recognize them.

I’m being generous with a 3. There are a few good songs, like Human Cannonball, but several that are total crap.

I’m a huge metal fan and I like Dave Mustaine. I feel terrible for what Metallica did to him. However, I’m not a huge fan of his voice.

I recognize the talent, but I’m not into smooth jazz. There is a lot of hits on this album though.
