I listened to this as a teen. I think my aunty Vees had a copy. I always found her accent grinding. But I am appreciative of the strong storytelling. I was surprised to find I knew all the words.

Pet Sounds by The Beach Boys
Mar 02 2026

Totally a classic. Such a 60's sound too.

Foo Fighters by Foo Fighters
Mar 09 2026

Classic Foo-ey's sound. I didn't mind it.

Savane by Ali Farka Touré

Loved it

The Köln Concert by Keith Jarrett
Mar 22 2026

Opening bars sound good. As a jazz-hater, dunno how this is gonna go. Bring on the pain I guess. Update: I have not hated this as much as I thought I would. I'm kinda into the crowd enjoying it too

Toys In The Attic by Aerosmith
Mar 23 2026

I love(d)Aerosmith, probably not my fav album of theirs. I like the slightly bluesy tracks. Unfortunately, I struggle to remove the art from the paedophile

Funeral by Arcade Fire

I bloody love this album. Always have and probably always will.

Loved this whe it came out, but it wasn't as amazing as I remember now that I'm a 36 year old.

Liege And Lief by Fairport Convention
Apr 24 2026

I can see the importance and kinda loved it. Gotta be in the mood but I think i'll listen again one day and share it

Pearl by Janis Joplin

Odelay by Beck
May 10 2026

I feel like I've wanted to like Beck a lot more throughout my life. But I do not like this album. I have attempted it once before and it just does not sit right with me. I'm hanging out for it to end.

On The Beach by Neil Young
May 12 2026

I am glad that I read wiki article first as I could understand the feel of the album. I liked it.

Natty Dread by Bob Marley & The Wailers
May 13 2026

I didn't hate this album. I think I might've heard it historically as my ex used to have it on vinyl. Not to bad, certainly not the whole RAAAAASTAmon thing I was thinking I was going to hear

May 14 2026

I don't think I had heard this album before today (likely might've). I feel like the influence of The Beatles ins massive in this album. I had to freshen up on The Beatles timeline to get a grip on how this sound fit in with their musical journey.

Kimono My House by Sparks
May 15 2026

Unreal. I am absolutely adoring this album and sound. I think I've uncovered a band that is very much my taste that I haven't given any love to before. The falsetto is divine. The lyrics are funny and great. I can't wait to hear more. Funny timing as Sparks are playing in my town next week but I am unable to go. I would've loved the chance to see the live.

May 16 2026

What a time to release a debut. I think the rise of social media at that point, the importance of indie really worked in their favour... In light of that, fucking amazing album. Epic, sure it's a bit samesey, but I still think it captures such a great sounds and moment in musical time.

S.F. Sorrow by The Pretty Things
May 17 2026

I hadn't heard of The Pretty Things before (I don't think!) Enjoying the first track. A very 1968 sounds. Hearing a lot of The Beatles influence in Track Two (Fly to the Moon). I kinda wish I had've discovered this album like 15 years earlier when I was a little more into this style of music. Grateful to have come across it though. Cool to know it was the first rock opera though - I dig that kinda creative story-tewling

Who's Next by The Who
May 20 2026

pretty epic opener with Baba O'Riley. When I was growing up I only thought of The Who as the guy with the nose and My Generation. But this song is pretty damn iconic. BUT - I do now hate the UFC and this track is synonymous with UFC in my brain, ugh annoying. I love the cover art too.

Elephant Mountain by The Youngbloods
May 22 2026

Not sure what is exceptional about this album....

21 by Adele
May 23 2026
To Pimp A Butterfly by Kendrick Lamar
May 26 2026

Not my style of music, but I actually like it. I forgot that I had heard it before.

I Am a Bird Now by Antony and the Johnsons
May 29 2026

Absolutely stunning and haunting.

All Directions by The Temptations
May 30 2026

Really really enjoyed this. I loved "first time I ever saw your face" I'd only heard the James Blake version before. I might rate it 4.5 and be generous

1999 by Prince
Jun 16 2026
Aladdin Sane by David Bowie
Jun 18 2026

Oh man I wanna rat this higher because Lady Grinning Soul is one of the most perfect songs ever but the rest of the album isn't quite on the same level.

Oedipus Schmoedipus by Barry Adamson
Jul 06 2026

Initially my thoughts were.... Not my jam, too experimental although I appreciate the creativity. The second half though, I'm really digging from "Achieved in the Valley in the Dolls onwards.

Urban Hymns by The Verve
Jul 11 2026

Not exceptional, although definitely capturs the sound at the time. Surprisingly large number of singles on that one album.

The Wildest! by Louis Prima
Jul 14 2026

Can't believe how many of these track I know. It's actually a pretty frikkin great album. Lots of fun. Tempted to rate it a 5 so I can remember to try and find a copy on vinyl at some point.

Channel Orange by Frank Ocean
Jul 18 2026

Easy listening, what a debut (was it his debut??!!)
