Transformer by Lou Reed
Feb 27 2026

I was familiar with some of the songs but I've never listened to the album start to finish in its entirety. I can see why it's a classic. I can imagine how it'd be more nostalgic if I'd grown up listening to it. I'm not sure it'll be in my solid rotation though. Great to be familiar with it for reference during social connections, trivia, etc.

Thriller by Michael Jackson
Feb 28 2026

This brought back some memories. Who can forget how popular some of these songs were. And with such memorable videos on MTV! I'd forgotten some of the songs on Thriller; it's clear why this is a classic.

Catch A Fire by Bob Marley & The Wailers
Mar 01 2026

I didn't recognize these songs. It felt familiar. I'd thumbs up the album.

Seventeen Seconds by The Cure
Mar 02 2026

Another example of an album that came out a little ahead of when I started discovering my own musical style. I'm familiar with many songs on the album but not the album itself. I was introduced to The Cure a little bit later. I might enjoy listening to this every no and again.

Raw Power by The Stooges
Mar 03 2026

I definitely have not listened to this album. As much as I want to enjoy it (due to his connection with David Bowie), I just don’t have a connection to Iggy Pop or early punk. I’m glad to have listened to it once. I probably won’t reach for it again.

Raising Hell by Run-D.M.C.
Mar 04 2026

Another album that I’m familiar with many songs but had never listened to the entire thing. I didn’t own this album but was made familiar with many of the songs via MTV. Worth a listen but won’t be in my heavy rotation. Interesting to notice how slow it feels compared to modern rap music (similar to comedies from the same era).

I’d never heard of Faces. I had no idea that Rod Stewart was in this band. I recognize a couple songs. Glad I listened to it. Probably will file this into the glad I listened to it files.

World Clique by Deee-Lite
Mar 06 2026

Totally familiar with this album. Though it sounds a little different than how I remember it—more detail. I’d never turn this off if it came up in a random playlist. It brings back great memories and has a positive vibe.

In Rainbows by Radiohead
Mar 07 2026

I’m a fan of Radiohead; however this isn’t my favorite.

Street Life by The Crusaders
Mar 08 2026

Competent jazz. I dig it while cooking. I’d never heard of it.

The ArchAndroid by Janelle Monáe
Mar 09 2026

It’s hard to believe this came out over 10 years ago. Clearly Janelle Monáe is talented and has a vision. There are some gems on this album. I have to wonder if she wasn’t a woman if the album would have received more attention.

Trans Europe Express by Kraftwerk
Mar 11 2026

I understand how influencial Kraftwerk has been for many artists and they paved the way for many; however, I did not enjoy this album. I’m not sure repeat listens will help change my mind.

Mar 12 2026

Understood that this may have influenced a generation of psychedelic rock however it took a lot of muscle to get through this album. It might have been more palatable without all of the electric jug. I worry I’ll have nightmares with that sound in them.

Viva Hate by Morrissey
Mar 13 2026

I’m very familiar with this album. It definitely left an impression on me.

Heaven Or Las Vegas by Cocteau Twins
Mar 14 2026

Here’s another album I’m familiar with. I never think to put it on but if I hear something from it I would hit skip. It was nice to listen to it from start to finish.

Rage Against The Machine by Rage Against The Machine
Mar 24 2026

Clearly some songs are classics. I can understand why some critics have this in their top 100. But, this is not something I can see myself reaching for.

Gris Gris by Dr. John
Apr 01 2026

Better than I anticipated.

Another Green World by Brian Eno
Apr 02 2026

I recognize some of Eno’s style from his collab with Bowie and Roxy Music. I recognized some songs. Okay to listen to in the background
