Almost perfect lp. No bad tunes, but the sequencing seems off to me. The tunes don't flow. Playing with a different sequence

Not something I would put on very often, but an enjoyable listen.

An epic debut. Derivative yes, but they created their own sound in the process. it still swings for the fences and delivers.

A solid set, their most cohesive lp up to this point. Still a great listen.

My favorite album of all time. Perfect in almost every way. The only thing I would change would be to put "In my time of dying" later on the album.

In line with what i love about Am-Rep style bands, but this somehow misses the mark for me overall. Not bad, just generic and unmemorable.

Lots to absorb here in this double lp. Marvin isn't my favorite soul artist by a long shot, but there are some cool grooves here. This record feels very personal to him, it may require more listens.

So many hooks, so many melodies, yet this album falls completely flat for me. Even "there she goes" gets tiresome in context of the lp. Pass.

I know my indie cred will take a hit for this, but Dino Jr have never really been my bag. Riffs, vocal lines, solos, and structure all seem to be recycled from record to record, and it just doesn't do much for me. Ill stick with "Green Mind" whenever i'm in the mood.

Jeff Lynne's magnum opus. 4 stellar lps in a row conclude with this gem. I love every song, the rich melodies and textures shine throughout. Plus it starts with Turn to Stone. Amazing.

I dunno, I can see where this could be enjoyed, just not by me.

I love Steely Dan, and this record has 2 of my favorite songs by them, but the whole record is lame.

Some rad tunes interspersed with not so good tunes interspersed with bad tunes.

This all feels so familiar, like Bowie intentionally wrote tunes that mirrored his 70s output, but with less memorable hooks and melodies. Not bad, but easily forgettable. 2.5/5

Between 72-76, Stevie Wonder could do no wrong. Only 2 major hits on this record, but amazing throughout. 4.5/5

Dull and uneventful. Miles obviously got his legend status for a reason, but this album doesn't convince me...

There are more Coldplay records on this "1001 albums you must hear before you die" list than Frank Zappa albums, and that speaks volumes to why a record like this ends up on this list. Boring, uninspired throwaway NY tunes....

They're not "bad" songs, just very tepid. Every song feels formulaic, and while it may resonate with some, it does nothing for me. Now back to something more exciting, like watching my oatmeal cool...

Great album even though it loses a little steam towards the end. Would be a 4.5/5 if it had the UK Surf version of Wave of Mutilation instead.

Never listened to an ES record before, and I was pleasantly surprised. Hints of Nilsson throughout. Better than average! 3.5/5

I'd probably like this if I was 18 when it came out...

There's a heady market for this type of music, I'm just not the target audience,and this listen confirmed that.

Aside from Tiny Dancer and Levon (2 of my fave EJ songs), the rest of this record is pretty mundane.3.5/5.

Stop!, Been Caught Stealing, and Three Days are the highlights of this record. The rest feels haphazardly thrown together to me. 3/5.

This is one of those records that garnered lots of accolades, but it doesn't resonate with me. The band is tight, but the songs are lacking from this era.

After 48 years owning this album, it still delivers some of THE best tunes Aerosmith ever wrote. An easy 5/5.
