Another live album? 🥴 🥴 🥴 Palpable energy and soul here, but that crowd is so jarring and distracting.

Crazy to me that they only released one album. Chaotic from start to finish; no wonder it's stuck around for so long. Also, this is some really great stuff to workout to.

Have always hated metal and the yelling with a passion… was not excited to listed to this one when it came around. Time and tastes change though, and there are so many sickening guitar licks, it’s kind of impossible not to enjoy just a little bit. 1.5hrs is quite a long album length, though!

Had never heard of this guy before. It was a nice surprise… Very dark and depressing lyrics. Loved it. … However, I did not like having to listen to this via YouTube because it is not on Spotify. The random loud-ass insurance ads between each song really sucked.

Can’t go wrong with any of this. Driving, chilling, working, eating, partying, unwinding. It’s always a good time to put on Miles.

Crazy that I had never even heard of this band before today. Super-into the classic 60s rock'n'roll vibe; miss this kind of music that just doesn't get made anymore. Maybe not a truly "5" album, but it's so refreshing to listen to.

I liked this! Less heavy metal than I expected... which was a good thing. Really appreciated the lack of extreme screaming and yelling.

02/21/22 I was always under the assumption that it was grungy punk-rock, so I never gave them a shot or even an attempt at listening, despite the constant praise. Wow, how wrong I was! Heroin's a great one, but got in trouble at work for the wild guitar strings at the end, lol. :-/

Janis Joplin's vocals are just insane: wild, raw and exploding with power. Don't fuck with her.

Such a good 60s pop album. Impossible not to smile while listening to This Will Be Our Year. Care of Cell 44 is a great one, and of course, the classic Time of the Season!!!

So many ways this could have been awful, and there are already multiple albums on this 1001 list that have tracks that are SO much longer than is really necessary, but this one hit just right. 04/05/2022 I've kind of avoided Elliott Smith for a while just for how many internet opinons there are on his life, music, and passing. Glad I finally did take the time to listen - it's clearly very sad, but there's an overwhelming beauty to the lyrics and Smith's voice. I also appreciate that this isn't an album that was made for exclusively gloomy days.
