The College Dropout
Kanye WestFuck em
Fuck em
Groundbreaking classic. In my top ten albums of all time easily.
If you know you know
I can see why it was popular but only like three songs really grabbed me. Overall not my thing kind of boring.
More like whispering trees. Turned it off by the 5th song. Very disappointed in this one probably would never listen again.
Super fun album. Felt like I was there and could see it being a blast. However he pretty much just a cover artist soo 3/5. I’d listen to it again if it was on.
Loved it.
Incredible. I have only listened to best of and the way this album is put together is so epic. Really glad I’ve now listened to a queen album all the way through. Loved it!
Really great prog rock. If you would of given this to me in my 20s I would of been obsessed. 4/5 sometimes I like the weird but you can get to fucking weird sometimes too and they went there which made it a 4. Definitely checking out all their other stuff though.
When this album ended I immediately put on rage against the machine. Public enemy obviously was a huge influence on some of the bands I love now however I didn’t love this album. At one point I checked to see how many songs were left which is never good. Still lost at birth, I don’t wanna be called, and shut em down we’re great songs. Also bring tha noize is an all time classic and started a trend in hard music whether or not that was a good thing is probably up for debate. Sooooo 3/5 liked a lot of it but would rather listen to other albums that are similar.
It’s like a gigantic electronic pillow I want to nestle in. 5/5
Ehhhhhh really just not for me. But according to Pete they are really good.
I get it I totally get it. A lot of their stuff was great this album though was ehhh
There was some incredible songs on this album. Funny vibe has such an interesting collection of sounds and changes butttttttttttt a lot of the songs were just awful. I skipped quite a bit which was a bummer. They seemed trapped in the moment of making an album that was hair metal and progressive grunge. I was pretty bummed but I will listen to a couple of those songs again.
Highlights: boogie on a reggae women/creepin/you haven’t done nothing/they won’t go when I go. Really great album the slow songs were beautiful and heavy the funky songs were all feel good jams buttttttttt not down for so much religion in my albums.
Dope
Maybe this is good reggae I don’t know. But everything sounded the exact same to me and I turned it off 6th song in. I kept imagining Barney from how I met your mother making fun of reggae and it made me mad at that show and then mad at reggae and then mad at the show again. So if you have any reggae that is interesting pass it along.
It was cool. There was some songs I really liked but overall it was just fine, not something I’ll go back to.
Such a great album. I don’t know if they invented these different genres of punk but to hear metal ballads, hardcore punk, folk punk and a wide variety of styles while still solely still being the replacements is awesome. They were the pioneers of bands who had a style but would change it up and didn’t give a fuck what people think. 5/5 buying this asap.
Chill wasn’t in the mood
In the right mood this is a wonderful album. However it has to be the right mood or this sucks. Grab some wine sit back and enjoy someone in the kitchen cleaning dishes with jazz sounds in the background
Classic but I do enjoy other gorillas albums more.
Just boring music made for supermarkets
Rated r is my favorite but this album rips. Over and over found myself bobbing my head to the next song. Will probably pick this one up next time I see it in a record store
The story didn’t make a lot of sense to me but I really enjoyed quite a few songs and loved the progression throughout the album. Would listen again but probably not going to put it on myself.
Yea it was fine
Really found this Blum layered smoothly like a bob ross painting. It was expediently crafted by someone who knows their craft. Could listen to it again and again
The 70s really did make banger after banger. I have been constantly surprised at how good some of these albums are.
Some great hits but my metal has not aged well
Some great hits but my metal has not aged well
Too normy. Give me starwberry jam!!!
I need to start writing my reviews at night….. I remembered I liked it?
I really like blur but this album did not grab all the way through. I wanted to give it at least a three but overall I think I only really liked like three songs so 2 stars.
Classic
Some rocking out flute that was meh
Yes yes yes
Fucking loved it but not all time
The doors honestly kind of suck and this album it just sounds like they are doing a half ass rendition of blues music and it pretty much is not worth a listen
I dug it. Not sure how often I’d go back to it though.
I really liked some of the songs but I would never probably listen to this again.
Groundbreaking classic. In my top ten albums of all time easily.
Really surprised me. Was all over the place but always brought me back into it.
Wonderful journey
Wasn’t in the mood
Overall enjoyed it for never hearing this band. I wonder though if I always like something a bit more if I have no clue who they are???
Really interesting album and was perfect to grade papers to.
Amazing album.
One of my favorite albums to go to when I need to chill out.
Bowie only makes classics. Where are we know is one of my all time favorite Bowie songs. The dude just got better with age. I think I’ll go 4 just because I zone out at some times but give me dark star next because that a 5!
Soooooo boring
The underwater song was fantastic. If there was 17 songs like that I would of given it a 3 maybe a 4 but a lot of the other songs I really did not like. So I’ll give it a 2
I realize it’s not ground breaking now. But imagine being on a ton of acid at some club and this band comes on and just blows your top off. That’s be fun…..
Brings a smile to my face. Can’t ask more from an album
Not for me
Was a little long but some real classics on here. Also loved the opener.
🤙
Not for me
Yea it was tight
Melted my little maggot brain.
Fuck em
Well this is 5/5. There’s nothing like getting in your 87 Camaro top down with sweet child o man blazing and you roll up to the nudie joint with your buds. Ahhhhhhh those were the days
I love it. I used to think it was one of their worst albums but it has really grown on me
I was very surprised by this album. A lot of different sounds than I expected and it was a great lesson.
It was good but nothing mind blowing for me. Tool is a lot bettee
Couldn’t finish it. Was realllllllly boring
I mean it’s the Beatles. Also revolver has my all time favorite Beatles song Eleanor rigby. So that’s a 5 from me
I like yo shim I and that’s about it.
It just wasn’t really my deal. Couldn’t connect with it
I mean some great songs but also I just got really bored of love songs after awhile.
Boring
Some great songs on here
Awful
Some great songs on the album but lagged a bit at some points.
I enjoyed it but it didn’t seem to flow very well
I get it
Really loved it. Was worried it was going to be kind of one note but thought there was a lot of exploration on the album.
I like a lot on it except for that damn keyboard.
The best 46 track album I’ve ever listened to
Amazing besides around the world but won’t take away the five
I loved this all the way through. Was perfect for a rainy San Diego day.
I do not get them and the quality of the sound really takes me out of it.
Wonderful album throughout.
One of those first albums I really needed when I was a kid. Filled out my nirvana and sublime obsession. It’s a damn good album and I’ll stick by that.
I like heist as music but not groundbreaking by any means
Her voice is incredible. I don’t usually listen to this everyday but anytime Billie holiday gets out on I will listen to it all the way through. One of Americas all time greats.
If you know you know
Fucking classic.
Have really only heard the radio hits but the whole album was really great. Enjoyed the whole thing not sure I would come back to it but dig it
Classic
Bleep boop
Was Olea stay surprised
Ehh turned it off
I dont love it as much as Ryan does.
Almost as good as Billie eyelash
Yea classic
Lame
Billies best!
Love me some prince. Every track is a banger.
Was super impressed by this album. Very rarely will I listen to a double album all the way through and this kept me entertained throughout. Will be listening again for aure
I can’t believe this is from the 70s. All of the post punk that I love now is directly influenced from talking heads. Dave Byrne can’t miss.
Top 5 album of all time for me
It was chill
Great album especially for the raining weather.
Some great songs but it’s also a snoozer of an album at times
Love some songs on this album but still have trouble getting through the whole thing.
It was chill
Was cool
Tv party
Love everything about this album.
Overall X just isnt for me. I have had a hard time getting into their style of "punk". I understand their influence but that era of new wave punk just isnt my jam.
I liked the idea of it but could not make it through the whole album.
The hits are great but I found the album tedious and boring overall.
Ive never really listened to elvis costello and I enjoyed it. Was nothing mind blowing but I could see myself exploring his discography.
I really enjoyed!
One note got bored really quick. Was never a huge soundgarden fan during the time and re listening to it made me realize I was fine not having it in my grunge library.
Interesting sound. ENjoyed the album throughout.
Wonderful album. Jarvis is one of the best front man. I dont know if it gets five stars but for me its four. Its varied interesting and catchy as hell.
Really enjoying the production on this album. Her voice is perfect for the weird beats, clicks and sounds that create an unsettling beautiful atmosphere.
Yea not for me
Great album.
The opening track is so iconic. I don’t know if it’s nostalgia or if they are just a great group but this album still hits hard.
The best.
First impressions I liked it more than I thought I would. Arrangements are cool and it’s really interesting seeing where Sufjan ripped his style from. Saying that so long Frank Lloyd wright had me laughing what was that?
The random guitar notes that have no point annoy the shit out of me.
Don’t really see the significance of this album. It’s fine for a 70s glam rock record but didn’t find anything special
Ryan said that this was awesome and I thought it was fine
The king. Some great songs and some snoozers
