Bad by Michael Jackson

Motherfucking Michael Jackson.

Exodus by Bob Marley & The Wailers
Jan 18 2024

Quintessential reggae.

Head Hunters by Herbie Hancock
Jan 19 2024

Listened to this one a LOT when growing up. It was influential. Even covered Chameleon in a ska band I was in. Revolutionary in the use of synth.

Channel Orange by Frank Ocean
Jan 22 2024

Not an album I have heard before. Interesting start with the video game sounds. Think it's great that it is a full album, not just singles. And there are some "filler" tracks.

Lady Soul by Aretha Franklin
Jan 23 2024

Iconic. I enjoyed the album more after watching the documentary about her as well as the biopic.

Superfly by Curtis Mayfield
Jan 24 2024

You can hear the panning. The strings are pretty hard panned to the left and hi hat is hard right. The organ is also on the left side. Horns are left center.

White Light by Gene Clark
Jan 26 2024

I haven't heard of this one before. Interested to listen to it. Sounds like a bit of a cross of country with some island sound in the first song. I like the albums where you can hear slight imperfections. Hear some Bob Dylan in there.

Parachutes by Coldplay
Jan 29 2024

A few of the songs I've heard a lot. The whole album is kind of in the same tone. It is "Coldplay". If you like their stuff then you like their stuff. I think it is OK.

Surrealistic Pillow by Jefferson Airplane
Jan 30 2024

Pretty extreme use of panning. A lot of room sound or reverb.

xx by The xx
Jan 31 2024

Never heard of this band before to my recollection. It will be interesting to see if I actually recognize any of these songs. Nothing really grabbed me as my favorite style of music.

Timeless by Goldie
Feb 01 2024

Lots of iconic drum loops. Seems to be the forefront of sampling. Not necessarily my style. Gets tiring after a while of the same repetitiveness. But I hear a lot of the electronic iconic stuff within this album. Makes me think of the Freestylers. This makes me want to be in my car with the sub.

In Utero by Nirvana
Feb 02 2024

I still like Nevermind better than In Utero.

Bad by Michael Jackson
Feb 14 2024

Motherfucking Michael Jackson.

You Want It Darker by Leonard Cohen
Feb 15 2024

I'd never really heard Leonard Cohen before. I'd heard his name, but not his music or his style. It is unique for sure. A deep dark smoky voice. Makes me think about Tom Waits. Interesting atonal singing at times. Gravely is the word that comes to mind, but smooth gravel. Pea gravel. A dark bar. You Want It Darker is a very fitting name for this album.

Bayou Country by Creedence Clearwater Revival
Feb 19 2024

Feels very southern. In both tone and lazy laid back feel. Chill and groove.

Heroes to Zeros by The Beta Band
Feb 21 2024

Folktechno is kind of correct. Interesting band. This album didn't completely resonate with me, but it was enjoyable. I'm not blown away by it and would like recommend that people absolutely need to listen to it necessarily, but it was enjoyable.

Led Zeppelin II by Led Zeppelin
Feb 26 2024

Led Fucking Zeppelin. Great album. Great band.

3 Feet High and Rising by De La Soul
Feb 27 2024

Great example of sampling. So many samples from iconic songs.

Alien Lanes by Guided By Voices
Feb 29 2024

The poor singing and lack of intonation made me not enjoy listening to this album. Not my style of music.

GI by Germs
Mar 06 2024

Don't really love punk.

The Infotainment Scan by The Fall
Mar 07 2024

I don't really like his vocal style. It's too out of tune for my taste. And lacks energy. I don't like a lot of atonal singing.

OK by Talvin Singh
Mar 08 2024

Loved this combination of old and new.

Tommy by The Who
Mar 13 2024
Pearl by Janis Joplin
Mar 18 2024

Absolutely great. Amazing voice.

Made In Japan by Deep Purple
Mar 19 2024

In the same vein as Led Zepplin and Pink Floyd. Great melodic rock.

Pink Moon by Nick Drake
Mar 22 2024

Beautiful and unique guitar work. So musical.

Unknown Pleasures by Joy Division
Mar 25 2024

Get a bit of that atonal singing that I don't love. Sounds like the first step towards the British punk a bit. Cleaned up brit punk.
