1001 Albums Summary

Night by Night and Any Major Dude are two of my SD favs....know the album intimately.

Half dozen tracks were recognizable if not singable.

Any girls out there who want more irish in them was the shout out from stage after second track …another 70’s LIVE concert no thrills

30 yrs after the 1996 debut, the height of my new found curiousity w ph I had nver heard it in it's entirety.....loved it, way ahead of it's time.

never heard of them, two lead singes, male/female preferred the male's EMO songs. added empty nest to playlist - ok, empty nest song starred

liability and first track were catchy....don't know if this album put her on the map or not but would be happy w strong effort

I had to listen to it twice through to find its magnificent, Jonathan Richman sounds like a character. VU>modern Lovers > sex pistols influence …Loved it listened to a few other JR with ML albums

80-82 Set the tone for Brit Pop or that 80’s sound, fun listen!

Two classics - Pfunk - Doobie Funk

Elvis left for RCA and Old Sun records in memphis picked up JLL. Until he married his 13 yr old cousin, he switched genres to country later on but supposedly he lived in the wilderness for a few yrs and then recorded this album. Full of energy and his hits …1965 22 min album or live show, ha

Hadn’t listened to it ever, P diddy on the tracks made me cringe, gangsta lyrics…Juicy was the only banger on effort

Baller Sitar musician plays others covers.

French is so sexy in rap songs, whole album was lyrical and flowed so well!

Indian music heavy on sitar meets EDM …Mercury award winner from Britain for this effort. Enjoyable listen

Mr Soul is classical rock and roll but rest of effort was more Folk rock which i found one note . Short lived band that helped develop the upcoming decades sound

It was so forced although I wasn’t in the gay clubs then so It might of been banging but I couldn’t help but cringe for her shot at staying relevant…

British Classic Rock …had some members of the Stones….considered harder than main stream. Influenced Pete Townsend. Mid to late 60’s …really nothing popped for me

Last track held my attention, hero’s was the only FM hit …1977 wonder if the studios were pressing him to make album after album.

Album before Loaded, loved it, you could tell they were ahead of their time. Each ear had different vocals from Lou and one other male spitting verse …songs were folky compared to the electric hit laden Loaded. It made me go back and listen to their first album and then 72’s effort. Terrific addition for my ears!

The 90’s were so weird.. song about John Gotti. Repeated non sense in each song.

Girl Power Rap - Nice perspective from a female rapper. Laughed out load a few times, great effort!

Wow! What a stacked lineup on each track. Sounded Operatic. Was curious to hear each track and then thought i won’t remember them at all

Had no clue Clapton > Page > Beck as guitarists. Nothing jumped out, rooted in blues!

I researched NC career and he’s a prolific album creator but not for my ears. The operaesque flow isn’t kind to my ears

Early JB …had the teen girls howling every grunt and moan he sang. Early on, first band JB and the Famous Flames had him move to the front of the bands namesake.

All good people is a classic…hadn’t listened to them as Prog Rock kings but now hear all the intricate breaks and movements! Great debut effort

High school era, hits from the bong …could of waited another 30 yrs to revisit this effort

Thundercat played Bass w Mac Miller a ton so familiar w him. Knew of album but never listened to it fully. Great effort for someone who’s known to say it never thought of putting out albums

Dave matthew’s appears My antonia …her voice is golden, the slower tempo and country esque lyrics didn’t move my needle.

After smooth operator opening I found new tracksto my ears. I heard why she had staying power. Will remember to play next time I’m making out :)

I’ve listened to two prior albums that were just hard tunisian to and rated poorly but this album mane was more polished later n their career …

Exceptional musicians create a HUGE sound! Makes me wanna dig more into …

Blistering the sun as well as a few others had this album overplayed in my lifetime. Great to revisit it one more time !

My ears disliked most tracks

6 songs 32 min don’t known what the heading was : one song rock n roll next ballad next …British Band beginning of the 70’s. Read they had a eccentric stage presence w mime face paint, etc

Sounded like a cover band, I read they were on the outskirts of the psychedelic SF sound bc their manager didn’t get along with -Bill Graham. They went to UK and did a British Invasion. Huh!

Straight up Electric Angry Energy Punk to its Core

Folky singer song writer vibes throughout. Desolate feel throughout the album IMO.

Influential in Punk Scene with fellow Detroit area band Stooges …Motor City 5

Not one radio hit, all same note IMO. Rock n roll .
