Enter The Wu-Tang (36 Chambers)
Wu-Tang ClanI don’t know any other way to say it but this album is simply a masterpiece. WU TANG CLAN AINT NOTHIN TO F WITH

So difficult to get through that I listened over the span of four days. Some of it really wasn’t that bad but I still think that’s a sign that my subconscious refused this music
Absolutely loved this album, such a unique listen, nothing like I’ve heard so far on this list. Yes, the 15 minute tracks can be long and repetitive, but they are well worth the wait for a patient listener
This album was so so so so fun to listen to that it just deserves a 5. Will 100% be listening again. Funk just hits on another wavelength that other genres don’t
Reading these reviews talking all about how he’s a bad guy but if it weren’t for him we wouldn’t have that iconic Top Gun scene so gotta slide this a 3
Had some absolute bangers and some absolute ear violators, but I appreciated the genre blending nonetheless.
More organ tbh, everything was good but nothing great
I liked it, but can't say I loved it. 'Care of Cell 44' was good, then it lulled until 'This Will Be Our Year,' the best song on the album, saved the last four songs.
Expected more out of Paul, Band of the Run is a great song but otherwise underwhelming
Absolutely loved the poetic lyrics and the ambition of the album, but as interesting as it was, the music itself simply fell short
Found this enjoyable but not optimal. Samples were cool but lyrics lacking.
One of the best listens so far. Overall quality music, loved his voice over the lyrics. All songs were enjoyable.
Enjoyable. I’ll probably never listen to this album again, but it was good while it lasted. Classic indie rock vibes
This album was the first in this list where I’ve genuinely enjoyed listening to the whole thing. No track was boring and every song made me engaged. The Killers are a phenomenal band and this is them at their best
Yes, this one gets 5 stars. Maybe it’s not a full 5 star, but it’s damn close, and I’m going to round up anyways. Sound was absolutely killer, this album will forever and always get me hyped up 🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪
No hate to Joan, but 1 hour of Joan is a lot of Joan, even if Joan is an absolutely phenomenal vocalist.
Amazing album, honestly wanted more of them though. Incredible band with some of their best all-time tracks here.
Didn’t have a ton of expectations going in, but this was a pretty solid album. Exited to hear the other Radiohead on the list, hopefully then I can make a more informed opinion on this album.
All I can say is meh. Catchy, groovy, but nonetheless meh.
I honestly loved this album. This is what this list is all about—finding awesome albums that I would’ve never found before if I was just listening. 4/5 because after a while it felt repetitive but there was enough variety where I enjoyed the whole listen. Would definitely listen again 100%
Monday, Monday and California Dreamin' are absolute classics but the rest of this album didn't do it for me unfortuantely. Somebody Groovy was also a great song but the rest just didn't hit. I'll definitely listen again later to rerate but for now its a 3/5
One of the better front-to-back albums we’ve heard so far. The live performances are pretty unbeatable, especially if it’s one from Johnny Cash. That man knows how to put on a show.
Solid, would definitely listen again to rerate, listened at like 9pm while reading a book so my attention wasn’t fully on the album
Another solid album, was a lot more accessible and fun of a listen than I originally thought looking at the Wikipedia
I had some preconceived notions about metal but this was just class musicianship. Those dudes know how to PLAY and I’m all here for it
1 hour of mid ambient noise
Songwriting and composition were fantastic, I simply just didn't jive with the music
It was alright…like I don’t know Imagine is a great song but the rest was….ok???? Maybe my expectations were too high for a former Beatles member
Nick Drake has one of the coolest vocal styles I’ve heard, and along with his guitar and other backing instrumentals, his music is absolutely superb. I will say that my only criticism is I think the violins or woodwinds sometimes overpower the song, which is ok but I’d prefer to hear them in a more subtle setting. High 4 and definitely will be listening again
I simply could not take these guys seriously 😭 At least the last 3 songs redeemed the album
Solid stuff, I vibe with Desert Blues
This album was so so so so fun to listen to that it just deserves a 5. Will 100% be listening again. Funk just hits on another wavelength that other genres don’t
Album went from chamber music to borderline reggae in parts of the last song. I appreciate the ambitious effort but it’s simply too spread out to be cohesive. Long, drawn out songs didn’t help the case either
First 4 songs have some iconic sound samples, then the album fades drastically in the middle, and picks up with the last 3 songs. Solid but I don’t think it’s his best
Iconic songs, iconic voice, iconic album. 10/10
Pretty solid album, just not refined enough yet to be as solid as the later stuff in the punk rock era
Solid album, didn’t think it was anything crazy though. Probably won’t listen again but good while it lasted
Phenomenal childhood nostalgia, their hits were absolutely fantastic and the other stuff was pretty good too.
Loved the horns throughout this one, but nothing caught my ears especially throughout. Solid and enjoyable though
Really loved this, great sound from them. Only thing stopping me from giving it a 5 is how similar-sounding some of the tracks are, would’ve liked to see some different stuff in there
Sub optimal listen, had hopes up seeing “Latin funk” on wiki page but simply too commercialized
So many good 80s hits on here. Enjoyed and solid overall, just not music I’d really listen to enjoyably for myself
I can appreciate how new this sound was but there seemed like no variation besides a few songs, just couldn’t get going with it
No hate to M.I.A. but this was simply buns, had to split up listening to save my sanity
Pretty solid but nothing special, had some good listens on there but just sounded like the average 60s folk album to me
Can’t believe people called this pretentious, a great transition between 80s bands and 2000s bands
Absolutely loved this album, such a unique listen, nothing like I’ve heard so far on this list. Yes, the 15 minute tracks can be long and repetitive, but they are well worth the wait for a patient listener
Enjoyed all the classics but didn’t resonate with me enough to get the full 5
Much groovier, jazzier, bluesier than I expected, but some tracks fell flat
A strong 4, first half was super strong but faltered towards the end
Reading these reviews talking all about how he’s a bad guy but if it weren’t for him we wouldn’t have that iconic Top Gun scene so gotta slide this a 3
Although I can’t lie that a lot of these songs sound similar, they’re all insanely good and the musical talent in not just Frank but also the band is incredible and for that I give the album 5/5
The hits were hitting and the rest was…well, missing
Never got into this tbh
About halfway thru rn and it’s a vibe but don’t think I could listen consistently
Only Stevie Wonder could make an album this diverse and make it sound coherent. Very good listen
An album full of sounds generated by a first grader arranged in a pretty decent way
It felt like hearing the evolution of Cheap Trick in the album, very cool to hear I Want You to Want Me and Surrender back to back here
One or two solid tracks but the rest blended together, just not enough substance from this album to make me say “woah”
I don’t know any other way to say it but this album is simply a masterpiece. WU TANG CLAN AINT NOTHIN TO F WITH
Heard a song and thought “Oh wow, this is pretty good!” and looked over and realized it was an ad break in the album 😐
Never heard of Jeru The Damaja before this album but now he’s a name I won’t forget. Incredible front to back listen, had me vibing the whole way through. I did see some reviews that said some of the topics were dated and I agree but the lyrical genius is incredible and the beats are unmatched. Great listen
I can’t lie I absolutely loved this one. White Winter Hymnal a throwback cause I sang that in 7th grade choir and it was absolutely gas but everything else on this album was gas too
Good listen, enjoyable and found the theme throughout quite interesting. Love the steam train mention gotta shout out public transit fr
Felt too over the top and some of the metaphors I just did not agree with
Loved the rap-rock anthems but otherwise I thought it was just alright, which is kind of sad bc I know how important this album was for mainstream rap but the beats were too basic and stripped down for my liking
High 3 tbh, not something I would listen to a ton but some really good tracks on here. Reminds me a bit of what I’ve heard of Leonard Cohen (if he could actually sing and make good music)
EWTRTW is absolutely top tier, Shout Shout and Head over Heels are great, and the rest is just meh. Mixed bag here for only 8 songs
Very unique sound here that was super cool to hear, but a lot of the tracks seemed similar and I could probably decipher only 10% of the lyrics
Impressive musicianship, seems like they traversed a ton of different styles and genres with ease, well done
Pretty standard soul stuff but there are some bangers on here
Honestly a miserable listen and put me right to sleep
Synth electronica is an acquired taste but once you get it it’s golden, Depeche Mode always a fun listen
Took me half the album to put a finger on that it’s the same guy who sings Uprising. I like that song, and this album is pretty good. Solid 3
They combine a lot of the genres I like into one. Excellent band and enjoyable music. Just couldn't get anything to jump out at me. Solid 4/5
Loved every second of this. Embodies exactly what hip hop is about. Storytelling woven into excellent musicianship. Can’t get much better than this
I really do enjoy the live albums but I can’t say anything really popped out at me about this one
Really nothing special about this, but I don’t think it was as bad as most of your reviews were making it out to be. I’m by no means a dead head but still not terrible, just long and drawn out and repetitive
Odelay: Just 5 songs too many for listening to Beck. Loved a few of these but the rest was mediocre. Love the samples though 3/5
Double review (for Odelay by Beck bc I missed it yesterday): Odelay: Just 5 songs too many for listening to Beck. Loved a few of these but the rest was mediocre. Love the samples though 3/5 EKTIN: Pretty beautiful album, would need to listen again though to give a definite judgement bc this was after listening to two other albums. 3/5
A nice album (to have in the background while I was reading my book)
Just a sensational listen truthfully. Not perfect, but then again, is any album truly perfect? 5/5
This was an insane rush of nostalgia but simply not enough cohesion to carry it to a 5
Excellent storytelling and lyricism but the quality of the backing tracks brings the album a little lower on my rankings
This album was a lot but truthfully such a fun listen. I enjoyed the more upbeat bluesy stuff compared to the ballads but it was mostly enjoyable
Weird new gen hippie crap. Not impressed
This is one I absolutely need to revisit at some point in my life. It took me a while to fully integrate myself into the album but as I listened to the reprise of the main theme at the end of In a Silent Way, it somehow all came together. An absolute journey through sound, with Miles at the front and an absolute unit of a group behind him (including both Hancock and Corea, who led their very own successful fusion groups). I’m thrown between a 4 and 5 because I listened to it broken up and I think I need to listen to it straight though, but Miles is an innovator and this is certainly an innovation of the direction of his music. Gonna settle on a 4 because this is truly unlike what I’m used to with Miles, which is more Birth of the Cool and Kind of Blue
Instrumentals were honestly solid but as a vocalist I just wanted more out of D’Angelo. Not enough power vocally, stayed very subdued and within a single register rather than changing tambre
Every time I listen to Amy, it gives me chills. A tremendous talent gone too soon
A solid listen, but not quite as tremendous as the reviews were making it out to be. Found it quite dragging and dull at some moments. Enjoyable but wouldn’t listen many times again
Loved the first song and the whole early alt vibe of the album, but the songs really got repetitive halfway through and I felt it lost its touch
Took heed to listen to the first 8 tracks and I’m glad I did. The full double album would’ve been too much for me. Suprisingly found the middle of the album to be the most enjoyable. Another one where it was okay but wouldn’t listen again. High 2/low 3
Quite an enjoyable listen from the Stones. Enjoyed the bluesy theme throughout
Superb listen. The storytelling was clear and the lyrics were beautiful and aligned well with the theme. Reading into the making of the album a bit, the minimalist vibe with instrumentals plays really well into the album. Super well done, now a fan of Willie Nelson
2nd Cocteau Twins album on the list so far and I still can’t understand a single lyric they’ve sang
Absolutely nothing to say about this album except for it’s awesome. 5/5
Good, fun synth album, a good listen but wouldn’t be listening over and over again
A good listen, some of the songs were very enjoyable. Mostly a solid but semi-slow alternative jam band album
Absolutely unlistenable
Subpar new wave woke boogie music (but the boogie was solid and the bass line was groovy until it got repetitive)
For a casual music listener (not a producer or historical junkie) this was pretty enjoyable but not quite as excellent as the Beatles popular legacy holds. Creating a band for an album then focusing on production-heavy tracks instead of actually working off of the lore of the band is wasted potential in my eyes
Groovy, funky, and…horny?
Enjoyable! The Police are awesome
Very good but not quite up to the 5 level I expected from this album. Some of the tracks just felt like they fell flat. Also a lot of songs that seemed between a skit and a song and I just couldn’t understand it fully
It’s so good but the album just put me in this flow state where I couldn’t even differentiate the tracks. As soon as I heard Stir It Up I snapped out of it but otherwise I was basically entranced. Would prefer some variation but in this case it’s just pure vibes. High 4/5
So difficult to get through that I listened over the span of four days. Some of it really wasn’t that bad but I still think that’s a sign that my subconscious refused this music
Try not to head bop challenge level impossible
Had some incredible tracks on here. Nothing bad in here, just don't think the Artic Monkeys hit the sweet spot until a few albums in. Vibes are splendid though
3rd Leonard Cohen album in 100 albums (I hope his stuff is being frontloaded because I don’t know how many more I can take)
Yes, like most of the reviews, I was a bit skeptic seeing a global album but then listened and thoroughly enjoyed
By far the most unique listen I’ve heard on this list. The music isn’t exactly what I’m into, and nothing stood out incredibly far from the rest of the album, but it’s all just so…beautiful. It’s strangely comforting and even nostalgic in some ways. Music that strikes a chord with the soul. A tremendous work by Bill Callahan here
After a few days stretch I finally made it though this one. Very promising first few songs and progressively lost its charm
Very fast but extremely fun listen
An absolute journey into sound. Fantastic listen
Eminem is a tremendous storyteller, but the gore in this album really rubbed me the wrong way. Good but intense
Mid album but they wrote Valerie so they get at least a 2
Angry French man plays instruments loudly
Not familiar with the orchestral-backed Billie Holliday vocals but she still rocked it. Not quite as much brass as I would’ve liked though
It’s incredibly hard to make an album with at most two hits. With this album, the Beastie Boys had at LEAST five tracks that are iconic and some of their greatest to this day
