The heheing can get to much sometimes but the basslines are phat the grooves are undeniable
If the whole album was only, Just What I Needed, it would be a 6/5
Unfortunately it’s not
Moving in Stereo is gas tho
What do you want me to say. It pure, raw, unadulterated, soul. It’s what music should be. And while she’s not as raw as other artists that’s just not her sound and that’s okay. if you were to strip away all the innovation in music over the last 100 years this would still remain because its beyond music as an art form
It’s a 5, it was always going to be a 5,
Aretha fucked me up and down with this one
its perfect for what it is, to listen to while sitting in a club in Cuba having a wonderful conversation with someone you love and then fuck up the dance floor for a little bit. but it lacks some intrigue to be the main event.
A wonderful chill listen but needs some more umph to capture my full attention.
Oh how I wish I was born during the great harmonica boom of the 70s and 80s
Starts as great folk rock but becomes meh rock towards the end and it’s a bit repetitive, Neil young also says some crazy shit unprompted on this album
Right in the face of Marvin Gaye
Oh what I’d pay to attend this concert
I’m usually not a huge fan of electric blues but the language difference brings more intrigue and when it breaks down into acoustic blues the songs a great and the groves are unique even if repetitive
Meh
I’ve never loved maximalist electric guitar
An interesting mix of generic indie rock stuff and some interesting experimentation
Mr Brightside somehow never gets old which should really happen
For how raw and industrial the production and instrumentation is in this album the song still have such a groove
This feels like the best concert anyone has ever seen in the bare basement of a factory
This maybe be a considerable work of genius
I worry about its replay-ability but right now it works
I think I’m starting to get it
They had me for the first couple songs but the instrumentals gotta worse as the album went on
Some amazing songs mixed in with so really bad tracks (dirty girl and Jamaica jerk off)
Holy shit the guitar playing on this is fire, I love it. And Nick drake clearly took so much inspiration from Bert so I love it even more
Background video game music core. Some of them had a good grove but largely too repetitive for my taste
I like parts of this album, like the drum solo is moby dick, but most of the time the songs are too long for their own good and Robert plant is definitely not my favorite vocalist
This is my favorite Beatles album. An amazing mix of their original rock stuff and their more experimental instrumentation and holy shit does it slap
Idk just not into it, felt a little repetitive
An interesting soundscape but I don’t really like Jim Morrisons vocals
Also listen to Jose Felicianos cover of “Light My Fire”
I don’t hate it
Good 90s production with a Sly Stone sample in the first song
But I lowkey don’t like any of the verses
It just makes we want to listen to Bob Dylan
Angel from Montgomery is fire tho
This does like 8 genres and usually worse than an actual artist in the genre
But lowkey this probably should have a higher rating I just hate music this morning
A pretty good listen with a sneaky Talking Heads cover that is the highlight
Bobby Caldwell meets Tears For Fears. Unfortunately not as good at either side as the original but still worth the listen
Too ambient for me right now, kinda background music
GY!BE does it better
I just don’t love country styling more than folk and many of these could be great folk songs which would just be better
Nonetheless the honky tonk honks and tonks
Insanely consistent for a double album and consistently good at that
This album is so fucking weird I love it
My least favorite album of his
It’s funkiest funk to ever funking funk
George Clinton is a genius
A collection of fantastic guitar hooks with pretty good songs attached
Some good pop songs but more repetitive than I wanted them to be
It’s just good rock music
If only we had latched on to this and not arctic monkey
He is cool and there’s no other words to describe it
really good background music
Meh just not my style, weird vibes
I hate to say it I think but kinda boring
There was so much pretty decent rock in the 2000 what happened
I don’t even know how to really describe this is just so good
I just don’t think this caught me at the right time. The songs are too many songs in one and I only want to listen to like one song from each. Probably deserves a relisten when I’m more in the mood
Surprisingly accessible jazz turning slowly into some truer more experimental stuff
Groovin is a great song but the rest a kinda of middling for me
Capital E experimental but it works so well, it also has way higher replay ability than one would expect
Oh I should have bought that fucking Vinyl. Damn I didn’t know what I was missing
A fun album but not a large amount of stand out tracks
Bruce Springsteen if he were less gruff and more self important
I liked this a lot more than I expected but it did get a bit stale by the second half
I wish it was on streaming and in better audio quality
I was tricked by the first two songs
I means it the Beatles, I’ll admit early Beatles can get a little repetitive but repeating the best rock ever can’t be that bad
A vibe that could be a 5 but Le Freak unfortunately feels cheesy and there are some weird mixing choice that I don’t love
I was to harsh last time, but I still don’t love the singing
Talking heads had something a white man hasn’t had since, Groove
who knew they could make a boring metal album
It’s good
doowap can get a little repetitive for me
It’s like kinda awesome but it’s not really an album
Would be a cool concert tho
If it was cold and dark and wintery it might hit like it did the first time but
I enjoyed it more than I expected but it’s a little one noted
A little hit and miss but enjoyable
I’ve never loved Pink Floyd it somehow feels too pretentious for me
Maybe I just don’t really like rock music
Completely and utterly pretty okay
sorry tac this is better than what’s going on
The first disc was better than the second
I mean it’s miles, it’s a little crazy, a little wild, revolutionary
some grooves but really repetitive and her voice can get annoying
My favorite Metallica album so far
Could be a genuinely fantastic album if they stopped singing more
I like most of the features but kinda one noted
Your favorite musician’s musician type stuff
Better than that never sleep, more groovy
This music is for someone but that someone is not me
It is the most perfect production and orchestration and vocals and lyrics and timing and vibes of any album
It’s like a movie score
And it gave us “there’s a riot going on” in response
A fun listen with a cool vibe but nothing really struck me
I wasn’t relistening to this so here’s my old review
First, I don’t really like Metallica’s whole thing, second I don’t think the facts it’s a live album help my enjoyment any, third it was probably awesome to see live but over two hours of Metallica just in the ears is too much
I was much too hard on this the first time it’s fire
Actually kinda really fun
Kinda fun but a little repetitive and I still don’t like Steve winwoods guitar playing
I like the smiths. I don’t love the smiths. But this is a great Halloween listen
I mean it’s such perfect shoegaze dream pop stuff but with a little more indie rock in there to make it hit even harder
Nirvana always gives me bad vibes
For this to work Nick Cave needs to have aura and this just insane aura to me
O Children is gas tho
You can definitely tell he was making music around the time of Bob Dylan just with more rock elements
Weird
I think it’s grow on me if I listen to it again
Maybe I don’t like the smashing pumpkins
Literally didn’t even notice it starting or it ending
It’s fun just not my favorite type of jazz
This is a bunch of ideas Paul McCartney had so he put them in an album
Some of them are good
This is bad, okay it is pretty bad, but more than that it’s just lame
#musicansshouldntbeallowedtomakelamemusic
Maybe cause I listened to this night after New Form but what else do you even need out of music other than this
This is their opus
It’s perfect
I’m a sucker for anything with those guitar
Great flows over great beats, Just not my favorite verse of all time
It’s really good rnb like really really good rnb but my mind isn’t a blown as I was kind of expecting
I love world music
Sucks that we are so racist
I didn’t love this as much as I wanted to. I think I just don’t love Sinatra completely
Jobim > Sinatra
Now how is this the only Nina record on this thing. It good but it should be put a spell on you
Unpopular opinion I don’t love this album it sometimes feels like self parody but that’s okay Bob it’s still a jam
I’m not sure what to think about this album it’s doing so much stuff
I really don’t like the singing on this. The whole album feels like a joke that I don’t find funny. As close to a DNF as I’ve ever gotten
A great collections of covers and originals (?)(they may all be covers) that is given all the gravitates and important of a great man looking back on his life
Amazing early psych rock sound but a bit too long of an album for me. I wish it was super quick and hit a little harder
It’s Elvis. It’s fun but nothing revolutionary anymore
This was a nothing album. Only cool thing was the daydream sample
Only great piano can make you moan that much
It’s good but a swear all their songs sound the same
It’s fun but feels too long and I’m probably not revisiting
It’s good, it’s better than their earlier stuff and you can sort of see where they are headed into the peak of their career
I was too harsh on it the first time I listened but still just don’t low this type of rock that much
Like it’s just bad but it’s also just kinda nothing
It’s just such boring rock music
I mean this is just kinda my shit
It’s good, reminiscent of mbv just not as perfectly put together
I wish I liked Leonard cohen more but I just can’t get it
I like raw punk metal stuff like this but they never lend well it an album, sits in the same place as that circle jerks album
Just makes me want to listen to Oasis
Bring back folk Neil young I want folk Neil young
I mean the name kinda says it all, it’s raw vibe power throwing shit in a concrete basement but with some actually nice guitar playing
Too British for my little American brain
Vocals are fire, instrumentation is epic, the rapping is bad
One of if not the most important pop record of the 21th century
Some great rock music but not better than born in the USA
