Exit Planet Dust
The Chemical BrothersGenuinely thought this was a made up band from Peep Show so I was just picturing Jez at the keyboard the whole time.

Pretty good. Not my thing, clear influence on Irish bands like Dropkick Murphy or Flogging Molly which I just associate with being a teen. Better with headphones, second listen surprised me by how much I enjoyed. Well done niche music.
A clear classic, already listened a hundred times. Big themes and grand celestial theme/framing but somehow sticks the landing in like 42 minutes.
A lot of fun, the slow 70s disco ballads are less my thing but still a great time.
Hifi beats to play Halo to

Very charming and lovely

Diminishing returns, particularly after Exit Planet Dust, but still enjoyed it.
Not sure it's my thing and probably too long but honestly don't mind it. A little burnt out on 90s UK electronica after two Chemical Brothers albums in quick succession so maybe a little harsh.
Hard not to compare to At San Quentin as I just listened to that recently, definitely enjoy this much more. Hits the right balance of songs/banter with the audience. A prison-themed album recorded live in front of prisoners is already a great concept, the quality of the songs puts it over the top.
Extremely vivid flashback to being a sophomore in college. I thought I liked this album but halfway through I remembered I only really like Stillness Is The Move and how the guy says “bitte orca orca bitte.”
Seems like something you’d love in high school and be embarrassed about as an adult. It’s alright.
