Exile On Main Street by The Rolling Stones
Sep 03 2025

Comes in hot then takes a bit of a victory lap

Pet Sounds by The Beach Boys
Sep 08 2025

I wish I could give it 6 stars

Sep 09 2025

Wildly diverse: songs range from so bad it's good (I'm In Love With My Car) to so good it's bad (Bohemian Rhapsody). Death On Two Legs is an all-timer as far as album openings go.

Cut by The Slits
Sep 11 2025

Delightful

Moondance by Van Morrison
Sep 15 2025

Tasty jams and solid songwriting. Nice break with Crazy Love, much needed what with all the Van-ness of the rest of it.

Be by Common
Sep 16 2025

Gripping opener with the double bass, something you couldn't get away with today. Nice songs throughout and a powerful message for the time

You Want It Darker by Leonard Cohen
Sep 18 2025

A man who sounded 80 as a 20 year old, as an 80 year old

American Pie by Don McLean
Sep 19 2025

At least one of the songs is good

Arular by M.I.A.
Sep 22 2025
Aladdin Sane by David Bowie
Sep 23 2025

Like any Bowie album, full of wonder and melodic/harmonic intrigue. Just not his best

The Stone Roses by The Stone Roses
Sep 24 2025

Didn’t think I’d like this album so much. No wonder it’s on so many of these lists

Actually by Pet Shop Boys
Oct 18 2025

Some fun stuff in here, just not for me

Drunk by Thundercat
Oct 19 2025

Technically masterful, unashamedly quirky

m b v by My Bloody Valentine
Oct 22 2025

Love the band, but not sure why I needed to hear this before I die

Devil Without A Cause by Kid Rock
Oct 24 2025

Thank you world for providing me with this one star album. Listening to this album was like watching a gruesome horror movie, only without the thrills

Oct 26 2025

An all-timer for me, honestly. I dig the theatricality tempered with intense musicianship

Oct 27 2025

This is a classic for sure. Detroit energy to the max. Just not a fan of the sound quality

At Fillmore East by The Allman Brothers Band
Oct 28 2025

All-timer of a live album, solid playing all around and a decent mix

All Directions by The Temptations
Oct 30 2025

Berry Gordy must have been so mad when he got back from LA and heard this

Sail Away by Randy Newman
Nov 03 2025

Billy Joel lite delivers a montage of vaudeville-esque piano stylings. This album would be 2 stars if the orchestration wasn't so exquisite, and 4 stars if he knew how to properly end a song.

Too Rye Ay by Dexys Midnight Runners
Nov 05 2025

Eh

I Am a Bird Now by Antony and the Johnsons
Nov 06 2025

I like some of AHNONI's stuff, even though I find her voice to be a little annoying. There wasn't so much good here

Chris by Christine and the Queens
Nov 07 2025
Atomizer by Big Black
Dec 08 2025

Some truly legendary noises

L.A. Woman by The Doors
Dec 14 2025

Not their greatest album but a really good one

The Rising by Bruce Springsteen
Dec 15 2025

Bruce dabbles in mid songwriting

Figure 8 by Elliott Smith
Dec 17 2025

Not the greatest Elliott Smith but still pretty dang good

Rip It Up by Orange Juice
Dec 18 2025

Why haven't I heard of this band?

So by Peter Gabriel
Feb 01 2026
Wild Wood by Paul Weller
Feb 06 2026

In a musical era when bands were setting the tone for the next several decades, it's interesting to hear an album that could have been recorded in 1967.

Juju by Siouxsie And The Banshees

War by U2

This is the U2 I like

Love Captain Beefheart

Bryter Layter by Nick Drake
Apr 21 2026

Nick Drake sounds best by himself

Exodus by Bob Marley & The Wailers
May 09 2026
American Gothic by David Ackles
May 13 2026

Funny, this album was introduced to me by the original book. Listening to it all these years later is an interesting experience. I'll always attest to the quality of the music here

Californication by Red Hot Chili Peppers
May 16 2026

Alt rock radio agrees that I needed to hear this before I die... at least the first half or so of the album

La Revancha Del Tango by Gotan Project
Jun 06 2026

Very cool, very interesting style that grew on me as I listened further
