Popular Reviews

Lost In The Dream by The War On Drugs

Have heard of them previously but never listened to any of their music, but I get the hype now. Each song sounded great and the guitar play stood out. Will definitely revisit the album and can see it growing on me.

The Libertines by The Libertines

Middle of the road alt rock album. No track really stood out but not a bad album either.

The Holy Bible by Manic Street Preachers

An album I am too old to find edgy.

Tarkus by Emerson, Lake & Palmer
Dec 06 2025

Sounds good. The instrumentals were pleasant. Not really my type of music but I can appreciate it.

1989 by Taylor Swift
Dec 07 2025

Enjoyed some songs more than others. Album flowed well. Would not say I loved it but will revisit a few songs in the future.

OK Computer by Radiohead
Dec 08 2025

I am definitely going to revisit again. I would say the album itself was great as a unit but not sure if any specific song stood out on first listen. Still very enjoyable.

Dec 09 2025

First time listening to Celtic folk rock. The album was great, it was a fun listen. The instrumentation was beautiful and upbeat. Definitely going to come back to this album in the future.

Dec 10 2025

First time listening to anything like this. While some of the more explicitly political songs were less enjoyable the album as a whole was solid. I enjoyed the flow despite the length and the samples chosen gave the songs a unique twist.

The Specials by The Specials
Dec 11 2025

First time ever listening to Ska. Also researched that is considered the best Ska album of the First Wave. Completely unimpressed by the whole project. Feels unserious but not in a fun way. Sounds like a parody of Yacht Rock. Stupid Marriage was the best moment for me. Overall not looking forward to the other Ska albums on this journey.

Autobahn by Kraftwerk
Dec 12 2025

Nothing memorable off the album. A unique sound but nothing stuck out.

Get Behind Me Satan by The White Stripes
Dec 13 2025

An overall solid project with some standout songs.

Born To Run by Bruce Springsteen
Dec 14 2025

Already had listened to a majority of songs on the album in the past but listening all the way through was great. Bruce is an amazing artist and the instruments on his albums always add so much.

Bluesbreakers by John Mayall & The Bluesbreakers
Dec 15 2025

Was not impressed by anything on this record. Felt soulless. The guitar/bass was fine but nothing that has me wanting to revisit it.

Lost In The Dream by The War On Drugs
Dec 16 2025

Have heard of them previously but never listened to any of their music, but I get the hype now. Each song sounded great and the guitar play stood out. Will definitely revisit the album and can see it growing on me.

Third/Sister Lovers by Big Star
Dec 17 2025

Nothing memorable on this album. Nothing stood out and nothing was awful.

My Generation by The Who
Dec 18 2025

A few stand out songs on this album but for the most part nothing that stuck out too much but was an enjoyable listen.

Play by Moby
Dec 19 2025

Not my type of music, but there were some songs that sounded very pleasant.

Rio by Duran Duran
Dec 20 2025

Really solid album. It’s a quintessential 80s rock album, something I grew up on.

G. Love And Special Sauce by G. Love & Special Sauce
Dec 21 2025

Didn’t enjoy this and cannot appreciate the music, as well. Maybe I’m too young and this music hit different in the 90s but first album I really wanted to end before it was over.

Talk Talk Talk by The Psychedelic Furs
Dec 22 2025

Nothing spectacular to me.

Document by R.E.M.
Dec 23 2025

A typically solid late 80s alt rock album.

War by U2
Dec 24 2025

Sunday Bloody Sunday was the obvious high point on this album, but I am not much of a U2 fan and this album was perfectly ok.

Fear Of Music by Talking Heads
Dec 25 2025

A one note album. Felt like 40 minutes of the same song.

Layla And Other Assorted Love Songs by Derek & The Dominos
Dec 27 2025

It sounded good but a bit too long for a concept album. Better than the last project I listened to featuring Clapton.

Colour By Numbers by Culture Club
Dec 28 2025

Karma Chameleon was the high point. The rest is the type of music they’d play for elementary school kids that adults think is ‘cool’.

Dec 29 2025

No song stood out which made a 20 song album feel more like a chore than an enjoying experience.

Music From Big Pink by The Band
Dec 30 2025

A rootsy album that pleased instrumentally throughout.

Bitte Orca by Dirty Projectors
Dec 31 2025

Would have gotten 1 star if not for Two Doves. I don’t know how this album got on this list. Maybe I am too young to appreciate its relevance at the time but I have never heard of this group before today.

Yeezus by Kanye West
Jan 01 2026

The album was good. Too bad he went off the deep end.

The Köln Concert by Keith Jarrett
Jan 02 2026

I enjoyed listening to it despite never really having listened to a full piano recital before. Feels like really upscale lounge music. Makes great background music to me which is a great alternative to what is typically considered background music.

Queen II by Queen
Jan 03 2026

A great album. First listen just made me appreciate more how Queen crafted the sound they did.

Rattus Norvegicus by The Stranglers
Jan 04 2026

Album was not overly memorable in one way or another. Was honestly expecting a different sound for a punk album.

...Baby One More Time by Britney Spears
Jan 05 2026

Not for me but also not bad. Was not expecting so much guitar on this album but it worked.

Born In The U.S.A. by Bruce Springsteen
Jan 06 2026

Arguably one of my favorite rock albums ever. Such a strong 1-2 punch to start the album. The final 7 songs would be an elite album on its own, as well. The sound is killer, the sense of place in each of these songs makes you feel like you’re there. Hits notes of nostalgia without it being overpowering. Easily my first 5 star album.

Murmur by R.E.M.
Jan 09 2026

The album was not as good as the other R.E.M. album I’ve listened to but the project as a whole was solid.

Hotel California by Eagles
Jan 10 2026

One of my favorite bands ever and their arguably greatest work. The songs are beautiful yet go down easy. Will listen to this album forever.

Let It Be by The Replacements
Jan 11 2026

Just wasn’t really interested in this one. The album didn’t stand out anywhere sonically.

Wonderful Rainbow by Lightning Bolt
Jan 12 2026

Felt like 40 minutes of the same guitar riff.

Surfer Rosa by Pixies
Jan 13 2026

Where Is My Mind? was a stand out. The rest just was not working for me.

Bad Company by Bad Company
Jan 14 2026

A couple really good songs that carried the album.

Blood, Sweat & Tears by Blood, Sweat & Tears
Jan 15 2026

Nothing too memorable. Sounded fine but not impressed.

Garbage by Garbage
Jan 16 2026

Despite the name it sounded alright.

Odessey And Oracle by The Zombies
Jan 17 2026

Brief Candles is an earworm. Album sounds cohesive and has great instrumentals.

Strange Cargo III by William Orbit
Jan 30 2026

Was an ok album at first but the back half was not good at all. It’s a cross between background music for a tech review on YouTube and 90s tech movie background sounds.

Jan 31 2026

Another Queen masterpiece. The albums are so cohesive and every song has so much life. What an amazing band.

I Should Coco by Supergrass
Feb 01 2026

A down the middle 90s rock album.

Meat Puppets II by Meat Puppets
Feb 02 2026

Overall sounds fine. The lyrics brought it down a bit but was not a bad listen.

Paul's Boutique by Beastie Boys
Feb 03 2026

Beastie Boys are always a fun listen even if every song isn’t a banger.

461 Ocean Boulevard by Eric Clapton
Feb 04 2026

Nothing impressive and nothing awful on this project

Emperor Tomato Ketchup by Stereolab
Feb 05 2026

The electronic music didn’t do much for me. As a whole was not a bad listen but ko track was all too memorable.

Feb 06 2026

Was not expecting some of the more country forward songs on this album and they were very pleasant sounding.

3 + 3 by The Isley Brothers
Feb 08 2026

Soulful and fun. Heard of a couple songs before but the album as a whole was just as strong as their most popular singles.

Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots by The Flaming Lips
Feb 10 2026

I don’t consider myself much of an experimental rock fan but this album was a great listen.

Butterfly by Mariah Carey
Feb 11 2026

Meh album, nothing piqued my interest here.

Moss Side Story by Barry Adamson
Feb 13 2026

Nice to listen to once, not a project I’ll revisit.

Moondance by Van Morrison
Feb 14 2026

Enjoyed his music already was a solid rock album all throughout.

Time Out by The Dave Brubeck Quartet
Feb 15 2026

Sounded awesome, not a big fan of jazz but 40 minutes of this was very pleasant.

Peggy Suicide by Julian Cope
Feb 16 2026

The instrumentals were ok but could not save the lyrics in my opinion.

Five Leaves Left by Nick Drake
Feb 17 2026

A nice and simple album but nothing really stood out.

Since I Left You by The Avalanches
Feb 18 2026

Electronic/House just isn’t for me most of the time. This is one of this cases.

Urban Hymns by The Verve
Feb 19 2026

Will give a 3 star because I enjoyed the first few songs but the back half of the album didn’t do much for me.

E.V.O.L. by Sonic Youth
Feb 22 2026

Not extra my brand of rock music I enjoy. Felt all over the place.

The Libertines by The Libertines
Feb 23 2026

Middle of the road alt rock album. No track really stood out but not a bad album either.

Dirt by Alice In Chains
Feb 24 2026

Can’t go wrong with Alice In Chains. Rooster is always great listen.

Tigermilk by Belle & Sebastian
Feb 25 2026

The album was sneaky sonically as each song felt unique in a way that some previous album did not. Definitely some good songs but an album that is greater than the sum of its parts.

Faust IV by Faust
Feb 26 2026

Enjoyed the sound of this album but it didn’t move me.

Master Of Puppets by Metallica
Feb 27 2026

Solid from front to back. The guitar ripping throughout never gets old.

Feb 28 2026

Enjoyed parts of this album but some songs left a little to be desired.

Too Rye Ay by Dexys Midnight Runners
Mar 01 2026

Solid album. Come on Eileen is the obvious standout but the rest of the album was a fun experience, as well.

Hysteria by Def Leppard
Mar 02 2026

The first 6 tracks on this album is as strong an opener as I could remember. Great listen throughout.

Queens of the Stone Age by Queens Of The Stone Age
Mar 03 2026

Some of the instrumentals just were not for me. A couple strong points throughout but nothing that stands out for a rock album on this list.

Mar 04 2026

One of my favorite albums ever. The best of what Southern Rock has to offer. It is a shame this is the only Skynyrd album on this journey.

Buffalo Springfield Again by Buffalo Springfield
Mar 05 2026

Not a big fan. A couple songs had nice instrumentals but most of this did not do anything for me.

Legalize It by Peter Tosh
Mar 06 2026

Eh, few good songs but also so much weed inspired music I can take.

The Suburbs by Arcade Fire
Mar 07 2026

Really enjoyed. Cohesive sound and most songs delivered.

Alien Lanes by Guided By Voices
Mar 08 2026

Would’ve been nice if they finished some of the songs they started.

Mar 09 2026

I don’t have strong feelings one way or the other. Some parts were pretty funny.

You Want It Darker by Leonard Cohen
Mar 10 2026

The lyrics were fine, his voice was just too grating.

Mar 11 2026

Fun album. Some bangers to start off the album really sets it up.

You Are The Quarry by Morrissey
Mar 12 2026

An extremely beautiful voice. Some songs just as beautiful some songs a little preachy.

Maxinquaye by Tricky
Mar 13 2026

Not for me. Monotonous at best.

Surf's Up by The Beach Boys
Mar 14 2026

Not a fan, didn’t do much for me.

Pyromania by Def Leppard
Mar 15 2026

Not as many standouts as Hysteria. Was slightly disappointed by this one

Sweet Baby James by James Taylor
Mar 16 2026

Fire and Rain is a classic. Not a fan of much else here.

On The Beach by Neil Young
Mar 17 2026

A good singer/songwriter type album but no song really stood out to me.

Rock 'N Soul by Solomon Burke
Mar 18 2026

Soulful and smooth, a really easy on the ears listen

Fragile by Yes
Mar 19 2026

While some songs do not stand out, the whole project is a great listen. I am not the biggest prog rock guy but this is the best album I have heard in this genre so far.

Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness by The Smashing Pumpkins
Mar 21 2026

Fine, I guess. 2 hours runtime was a bit unnecessary. The sound was a bit all over the place, sometimes in a good way while other times just felt out of place. As with any 2 hour album there was a bit of filler in here.

Exit Planet Dust by The Chemical Brothers
Mar 22 2026

Another electronic record that did not do much for me. Definitely one of the better-sounding ones so far.

Music in Exile by Songhoy Blues
Mar 27 2026

The music on this album sounded great, do not speak the language but from reading their sentiments are hopeful and worth a listen.

Aftermath by The Rolling Stones
Mar 28 2026

As a Stones fan this album didn’t do much for me.

Your Arsenal by Morrissey
Mar 29 2026

Always impressed by his voice. The music was once again very beautiful.

Mar 30 2026

I enjoyed the beats and a few songs were ear worms. The album is clearly a product of the insane pandemic times but I think some songs hold up.

Brothers In Arms by Dire Straits
Mar 31 2026

Awesome sound. Money for Nothing and Walk of Life are great back to back to start the album.

Electric Ladyland by Jimi Hendrix
Apr 01 2026

Ended strong. Some of the bluesy sounds in the middle of the album are not especially for me, but the guitar work is fabulous throughout.

The Holy Bible by Manic Street Preachers
Apr 02 2026

An album I am too old to find edgy.

16 Lovers Lane by The Go-Betweens
Apr 03 2026

Some great peaks on this album with Quiet Heart and I’m All Right but nothing else too noteworthy.

Punk is not for me and outside of Six Pack and TV Party this was really not for me.

It's Blitz! by Yeah Yeah Yeahs
Apr 06 2026

Honestly was surprised by how much I enjoyed this one. Flowed great throughout and the music was energetic.

Hot Fuss by The Killers
Apr 08 2026

Never gave this album a chance just had listened to Mr. Brightside. I have to say this is way more than I expected for an album with one song becoming mega-viral. Everything you want in a 2000s alt rock album.

Elvis Presley by Elvis Presley
Apr 10 2026

Elvis just put out great sounding rock/bluesy albums and this is one of them.

The Stone Roses by The Stone Roses
Apr 11 2026

Nothing too much to say. I enjoyed it. A down the middle rock album that was not too flashy.

2112 by Rush

Couldn't decide if the music bored me or annoyed me more.

Frank by Amy Winehouse
Apr 16 2026

Such a unique voice, sounded great.

A Little Deeper by Ms. Dynamite
Apr 17 2026

Some good songs, some duds. Could have been a shorter album, and my opinion would have been higher.

Bongo Rock by Incredible Bongo Band
Apr 19 2026

This album is a lot more fun than I anticipated it would be. Apache is an earworm

Pretenders by Pretenders
Apr 20 2026

Brass in Pocket does a lot of heavy lifting for this album.

Court And Spark by Joni Mitchell
Apr 21 2026

A beautiful voice with great songs.

The Fat Of The Land by The Prodigy

Disintegration by The Cure

Some great guitar work. Solid alt rock album all the way through.

Blood And Chocolate by Elvis Costello & The Attractions
Apr 29 2026

The voice was a little too grating at times.

1977 by Ash
May 03 2026

This album was one of the more adventurous ones I have listened to with some highs and lows, but each song felt like its own. I enjoyed the front half more.

The Contino Sessions by Death In Vegas
May 06 2026

Solid, each song felt more unique than most other electronic albums.

Lovely harmonies. Some fun songs and some great ballads.

Fromohio by fIREHOSE

Nothing memorable from this album for me.

Is This It by The Strokes

Someday has been a banger since the first time I heard it.

The White Album by Beatles
May 13 2026

Some great songs but like all 30 song albums there’s some filler.

Heartattack And Vine by Tom Waits
May 14 2026

Sounded like Bruce Springsteen needed to clear his throat

Zombie by Fela Kuti
May 19 2026

A nice little jazzy album.

Synchronicity by The Police
May 20 2026

The back half of the album stood out. King of Pain is an underrated track that I have not heard of before.

Tom Tom Club by Tom Tom Club
May 21 2026

Definitely funky. I would say outside of Genius of Love and Under the Boardwalk I was not too impressed.

Mermaid Avenue by Billy Bragg
May 22 2026

Awesome folk/country sound. Have not heard of Bragg before this but am very interested in diving into his back catalogue after this album.

The Yes Album by Yes
May 23 2026

Solid rock music. Nothing much different from my last experience listening to them on this list.

American Pie by Don McLean
May 24 2026

Having heard only the title track previously, I did not know what to expect for the rest of the album, but it was not what followed. I did like it, some songs really stood out like Everybody Loves Me, Baby. Just a solid rock album in my book.

Africa Brasil by Jorge Ben Jor
May 25 2026

Not much to note for me. The beats were good but nothing else stuck out too much.

At San Quentin by Johnny Cash
May 26 2026

Cash is great as always here. The live aspect of his jail house albums adds charm in my opinion.

May 28 2026

Still not a major punk fan but this has been the best album I’ve listened to so far from the genre. Didn’t feel too in your face but was pretty punchy regardless.

A Love Supreme by John Coltrane
May 29 2026

Sounded great throughout. Nothing more to say.

Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers
May 30 2026

I know people have strong opinions on Petty, but I am a fan, and this album is a great example of why. The sounds are great and I can listen to Breakdown and American Girl all day.

High Violet by The National
May 31 2026

Did not love the album, but it had a good sound and stayed there the whole time. Buzzkill and Lemonworld were a great little back-to-back in the middle of the album.

Hybrid Theory by Linkin Park
Jun 01 2026

Not many misses on here. Fast, upbeat tempo throughout this album reminds me a lot of other great 90s/00s rock songs.

The Low End Theory by A Tribe Called Quest
Jun 04 2026

Very fun album. Scenario is a a classic and a great way to end the project.

Nowhere by Ride
Jun 10 2026

Really enjoyed this one. The guitar throughout this album is great, and the solos really stand out.

Tusk by Fleetwood Mac
Jun 11 2026

Underwhelming to say the least as a fan of their other work. Also underwhelming considering the production budget for this thing.

Jun 12 2026

Very funny to think I was first introduced to this guy on NBC procedurals.

The Man Machine by Kraftwerk

I liked it more than Autobahn but still not style of music.

Jun 17 2026

Miles Davis makes great jazz music, not much else to it.

Middle-of-the-road new age rock album. Nothing really stuck out, but I enjoyed hearing some harmonica in the middle of the album.

KE*A*H** (Psalm 69) by Ministry
Jun 19 2026

Metal like this does nothing for me. It did not sound bad, per se, but not music I would seek out.

Van Halen by Van Halen

So many classics, and the B-sides hold up well, too.

Dirty by Sonic Youth
Jun 26 2026

This is not for me. Felt one note throughout.

Jun 30 2026

Meh, nothing stood out and not a fan of this genre specifically.

Medúlla by Björk
Jul 01 2026

Why is this on here?

I’m a Lonesome Fugitive by Merle Haggard
Jul 02 2026

Ole Hagg never misses. Love the breezy guitar that he features in a lot of his songs. His songwriting is arguably the best of his era, always raw and real. He’s the working man’s poet for a reason.

Sign 'O' The Times by Prince
Jul 03 2026

First time listening to a Prince album, and I was surprised how much I liked it. Such a fun sound.

Led Zeppelin III by Led Zeppelin
Jul 04 2026

Really like Zeppelin's sound, and this album is no different. This is not one of my favorites by them but Immigrant Song is a great start to this album.

Jul 05 2026

I thought it was a good listen, not exactly what I expected, but a good Nu Metal album for someone not familiar with the genre

Shalimar by Rahul Dev Burman
Jul 06 2026

Meh

Natty Dread by Bob Marley & The Wailers
Jul 23 2026

Sounded fine, not my genre to go to typically but I enjoyed most of it.

Something/Anything? by Todd Rundgren
Jul 24 2026

Fine, not much to add. I liked I Saw the Light the most.

Neon Bible by Arcade Fire
Jul 25 2026

Not as good as the other Arcade Fire album on here, but solid.

Metal Box by Public Image Ltd.
Jul 26 2026

Alt rock that does not sound of its era but also does not do much for me.
