Popular Reviews

Rio by Duran Duran

Ok, so I loved this album when it came out. I could barely stand to listen to it now. Some of the music is pretty interesting but the singing and lyrics are so awful. I wondered if I liked them because everyone else did or because they were cute it I was a stupid teenager.

Miriam Makeba by Miriam Makeba

Loved this, can't believe I've never heard of her before. Not a fan of the weird duet.

I know it is a good album. I've never been a big R.E.M. fan but have been surrounded by many.

Mar 10 2026

Love this album. Fun to listen to while cooking....bopped around the kitchen like I did when I first listened to them as a teen.

The New Tango by Astor Piazzolla
Mar 12 2026

Didn't listen to all of it.

Pearl by Janis Joplin
Mar 13 2026
Music by Madonna
Mar 18 2026

Blech. Never much of a Madonna fan and I found this album pretty horrific

Arise by Sepultura
Mar 19 2026

Just, no. Zero

Other than their first album, I have found them over-hyped and irritating. Record of the year? Not for me.

Led Zeppelin by Led Zeppelin
Mar 23 2026

I liked it more than I thought I would. Listened with hubby and it was very nostalgic for him. My mom saw them at a tiny hall at Harvard on this tour and she met the band. It was fun talking to her about that experience.... She remembers what she wore and where she sat. It brought a big giggly smile to her face.

Tres Hombres by ZZ Top
Mar 24 2026

So repetitive. Lyrics felt like an afterthought attached to a bunch of guitar jamming.

Bookends by Simon & Garfunkel
Mar 26 2026

Blah.

Rio by Duran Duran
Mar 30 2026

Ok, so I loved this album when it came out. I could barely stand to listen to it now. Some of the music is pretty interesting but the singing and lyrics are so awful. I wondered if I liked them because everyone else did or because they were cute it I was a stupid teenager.

Mar 31 2026

This was an album that was very important to me in high school. My brother loved the Smiths and had already seen them on tour. I remember a lot of sitting in my room listening to their songs and wallowing in my depression. It was actually great for me to listen to right now again and not feel that way about it. I really loved Unhappy Birthday. I also have vivid memories of seeing them on tour at some point at Great woods. I even remember what I wore. I wish Morrissey hadn't turned out to be such a douche.

Hybrid Theory by Linkin Park
Apr 06 2026

Yuck. One song was bearable - the single - but otherwise really crap.

All Directions by The Temptations
Apr 07 2026

Enjoyed this. Some songs a bit too long for me .. Eleven minutes! 😬

S&M by Metallica
Apr 09 2026

Yuck. No more metal please.

Smash by The Offspring
Apr 10 2026

I was only familiar with one song which I had never liked. Still sticking by that opinion. Not a fan of the rest either. They all sound the same to me. I felt like I needed to get out a skateboard and be angry.

Boston by Boston

Fulfillingness' First Finale by Stevie Wonder
Apr 14 2026

Listened to him a lot as a child and then again in college. Boogie on Reggae Woman was my favorite track back then and remains so.

Led Zeppelin IV by Led Zeppelin
Apr 15 2026

I'm absolutely shocked that I love this album as much as I did. I've never really been into Led Zeppelin but this really resonated with me and fit perfectly with my mood. I love how each song sounds so different but still carries their sound. This had me wishing I had a much better way to listen to music other than a Bluetooth speaker for my phone.

White Light / White Heat by The Velvet Underground
Apr 16 2026

Blah. Find it annoying at best. My husband is a huge fan and did admit this wasn't their finest hour.

Miriam Makeba by Miriam Makeba
Apr 17 2026

Loved this, can't believe I've never heard of her before. Not a fan of the weird duet.

Surf's Up by The Beach Boys
Apr 21 2026

I didn't enjoy this at all.

The Doors by The Doors
Apr 27 2026

Another album I felt like I was supposed to love. His voice is beautiful but I found the lyrics mostly uninteresting and the music repetitive.

Californication by Red Hot Chili Peppers
Apr 28 2026

Find them irritating. Didn't enjoy this album at all.

The Man Machine by Kraftwerk
Apr 29 2026

I like the first couple of songs and enjoyed reading about their immersive art concept. I had only heard one or two of the songs before. Seems like they were very much ahead of their time

1999 by Prince
May 01 2026

No surprise to anyone who knows me... I love this album. It's not my favorite Prince album but it's a great one. My only note would be that the songs are too long but that might be because I have no patience these days. I discovered something new that I didn't notice when I was 11... The cover, designed by Vanity, uses a big dildo for the number one. The things you learn as you age...

All Hope Is Gone by Slipknot
May 07 2026

Yuck. Painful to experience. Couldn't handle more than about 10 seconds of each song.

Hounds Of Love by Kate Bush
May 11 2026

Forgot how much I love Kate Bush. I shall put her in my regular rotation from now on. Oddly, this album is from a very sad point in my life but I don't find it brings me back to that, just the opposite.

Eliminator by ZZ Top
May 12 2026

Yuck. I have never understood their appeal.

Roots by Sepultura
May 15 2026

Painful to my ears

Parallel Lines by Blondie
May 19 2026

Felt repetitive. Feel bad saying that because I feel like I should like it more but I don't really.

At Mister Kelly's by Sarah Vaughan
May 20 2026

It had me wishing for more. I went through a Sarah Vaughn phase in college. Now I'm wondering why it was just a phase. Definitely putting her in regular rotation. It was a perfect album to listen to during yesterday's storm.

Maverick A Strike by Finley Quaye
May 21 2026

The phrasing drove me crazy. Not for me.

Rattlesnakes by Lloyd Cole And The Commotions
May 28 2026

Not a fan of his voice or signing style. Felt very repetitive.

California by American Music Club
May 29 2026

Yuck

American Idiot by Green Day
Jun 01 2026

I found it annoying at best.

McCartney by Paul McCartney
Jun 04 2026

Bleh. I have never liked McCartney's voice or lyrics. I always get stuck on his bad grammar - which I know should be excused in song lyrics but I just can't.

Leftism by Leftfield
Jun 05 2026

Not for me. Too much dance music repetitiveness and thumping

The Atomic Mr Basie by Count Basie & His Orchestra
Jun 08 2026

Splanky was my favorite. Very mellow in parts. I enjoyed the album but I don't think I'll add it to my playlist.... Maybe too frantic feeling for me a times.

Meat Is Murder by The Smiths
Jun 09 2026

Good but not my favorite of theirs. And, of course, another artist with a seriously problematic personality. I was very into them in HS. Maybe they are why I became a vegetarian at 15 for 15 years. I had a great time at their show at Great Woods in Mansfield...still remember what I wore....but their music feels tainted by Morrissey's personal stance on other humans.

Celebrity Skin by Hole
Jun 11 2026

I really don't like her voice and I didn't find any of the lyrics interesting or clever.

Tom Tom Club by Tom Tom Club
Jun 17 2026

Very fun - listened while weeding the garden. Good energy.

Tanto Tempo by Bebel Gilberto
Jun 18 2026

Super chill

Coat Of Many Colors by Dolly Parton
Jun 22 2026

Loved this album and all the songs that Spotify thought should follow it to keep the vibe.

Green by R.E.M.
Jun 26 2026
Coles Corner by Richard Hawley
Jul 02 2026

This feels like an album you'd put on in the background when you had family over for a holiday. Pleasant and innocuous. I will likely never listen to Richard Hawley again but I didn't find it offensive in any way.

Thriller by Michael Jackson
Jul 07 2026

Just a few songs that were fun to listen to but overall kinda crappy. The album doesn't seem to have any cohesive element and it started grating on me. I also found the sappy love songs to his "lady" disturbing and poorly written.

Fragile by Yes
Jul 09 2026

Like Andrew, this album brought me back to the LHS rock band years. I think my brother and Aaron Tapp were in a band together -- Black Attic -- that played in our church basement. I am certain they would have covered one of these songs. My brother had a bunch of different band logos painted on his bedroom wall and I'm pretty sure this was one of them. He also shared the music he loved with me - Yes, Rush, etc. - and although it wasn't my jam, I listened.

In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida by Iron Butterfly
Jul 10 2026

Just awful. Yuck. Hated it. Zero stars?

Jul 14 2026

Not enjoyable at all. His voice is irritating and the long, repetitive intros are enraging. I want to like them because I believe they do a lot of work with Global Citizen but I just can't.

Jul 15 2026

Very enjoyable vibe. None of the songs particularly stood out to me but I found it very pleasant. I feel like this is an artist I should have be familiar with but I was not until this listen.

Paranoid by Black Sabbath
Jul 16 2026

I hate this voice and everything he's ever done. I didn't mind the intros as far as music goes but the songs as a whole were terrible. Hated it.

Two Dancers by Wild Beasts
Jul 17 2026

Painful to listen to this album. Made my ears bleed profusely.

Who's Next by The Who
Jul 20 2026

Another band my brother was into back in the day. I enjoyed listening to it but likely won't ever again.

A Hard Day's Night by Beatles
Jul 21 2026

I don't really like The Beatles and I understand that puts me in the minority but this album was pleasant background music.

Heroes by David Bowie
Jul 28 2026

This is one that makes me wish I had my stereo back. Listening to it on my phone doesn't do the layered aspect any justice.

Shadowland by k.d. lang
Jul 30 2026

I thought I would like this a lot more than I did. I found it kind of boring and fine as background music but I wouldn't listen to it again.
