Bad, Smooth Criminal and Man in the mirror are the stand out tracks that I remember. It doesn't really do it for me

Bluesy. Would listen to this one again.

The two most well known tracks "Shout" and "Everybody Wants to Rule the World" are well known for a reason. They could find a place in my collection. There are maybe a couple of others that deserve more plays.

The worst one so far. I can't think of anything today I really remember from listening to it. Completely uninspiring. Can I give it no stars?

I can't decide if this is something I like or not. There are elements that I recognise as inspiration for other artists. I might revisit, but most likely it will remain out of rotation. 4

Not what I was expecting. Shades of RHCP and Faith No More. It probably won't see repeated play from me, but I didn't mind hearing it.

Sailed the seas to listen to this without supporting Kanye or tainting my algorithm. I understand the hype now, still not for me but I get it.

Like a heavier Radiohead. It might have appealed to me as a teenager, not so much now.

Distinctly R.E.M. I understand it's significance, but I prefer their later more polished sound.

I quite liked this. A few tracks stood out. Interesting arrangements.

An exhibition of a master of his craft. There may be little variation in the foundations of the songs but the tightness of the band and the atmosphere lift it all.

I thought I would like this one more then I actually did. There is just too much going off on a sonic trek. I also think that the mix doesn't help it. The vocals for me were lost on some tracks.

I wasn't expecting to enjoy this but I did.

This just sounded like a stock concert from a TV show or movie. The front man asks you to like him, I didn't.

The first half didn't do much for me. The second half is what elevated this album in my mind.

What is up with Mother? The rest is good to great. You can see why Stuart Copeland is so highly regarded.

This is a generous 3*. It didn't capture me but the variety made it not tedious to listen to. Nothing really stood out, overall forgettable.

A lot of youthful energy.

The video for Karma Chameleon is one of my earliest musical memories. The rest of the album is just meh.

This passed me by when it first came out. I'm glad to have listened to it now. Modern northern poetry.

Unmistakably Jack White but also didn't leave a lasting impression. It's all okay but ultimately unmemorable.

Today I discovered an entire genre I didn't know I should avoid. The best thing about this album is the cover.

It's a beautifully produced album. It all works well together, but apart from Hallelujah I don't think I will remember any of the tracks tomorrow.

I didn't give Courtney Love or Hole a chance at the time, if I had I might have liked it. Having said that my preferences have changed. The sound is distinctly of its time.

Individually each track is probably bearable, decent even, but as a collection, one after the other it becomes tedious and overstays it's welcome, much like this sentence.

It invoked the atmosphere of a hotel lobby bar that I couldn't afford a drink in. Then moved between kids cartoon backing track and 70's cop show.

I didn't love it but I also didn't hate it. Maybe shocking at the time but they seem to be more tongue in cheek than serious.

I've heard covers some of these songs before which I think are better. Just kind of boring

Tiny Dancer lifts this up from a 1 for me.

I enjoyed the instrumentation well enough, but the lyrics and vocals didn't do much for me. One comment likened the falsetto to Miss Piggy and now I can't un-hear it. Best tracks: Up with People, and The Petrified Florist

Didn't really hit as an album for me. Great Tina Weymouth baselines.

A solid album. Another commenter associated reggae with summer barbecues and couldn't get into it. I think they missed the point of this one. It has clear themes of protest and faith.

This is like a Happy Meal. A corporate idea of what the kids want. Artificially sweet with a random trinket thrown in that ultimately leaves you undernourished.

"Oh look, there's some paint drying that needs watching" - my excuse to leave if this gets played near me again.

Enjoyable enough. When I saw a ten minute track I feared it might be self indulgent, but it actually flows nicely.

I gave Bob a chance. We all know his voice isn't the best, his playing isn't the strongest either. The lyrics must be the redeeming feature, surely as a Nobel Laureate in Literature, but for me they just don't hit here.

Iconic songs covered by a legendary performer, what more could you want.

Even though I can't tell what the lyrics are half the time I still love the soundscapes that are created. Not my favourite Radiohead album though

The music is alright but I have never liked the Morrissey delivery.

An album of 20 songs that are virtually indistinguishable from one another and a mix thinner than Ariana Grande. It was just boring.

It does what it says on the label. If only airports were as calm and soothing as this.

Dark and foreboding. I had to give it a second listen to do it justice. Good, but it isn't going to feature on my playlist.

This is a group I didn't know I had heard before. The album could be the soundtrack to some quirky movie. A very easy listen.

I couldn't follow the narrative beyond about the first five tracks. Then it began to feel like a parody of itself. Still listenable though.

The first Stevie Wonder song I can remember hearing was 'I just called to say I live you', and as a preteen in the 80s it was sappy and dull. I had decided I didn't like Stevie Wonder. This relatively "early" album is so much better.

So what if the songs aren't all originals. Flawlessly executed.

It's so long and ends up all sounding the same.

Easy listen, every track is good but nothing stands out as exceptional. Would keep in my collection though.

It was alright. Nothing outstanding, nothing offensive to the ears.

It's interesting. Not something I would choose to put on, but I also wouldn't turn it off it it was on.

I just can't stand metal vocals like this. Redeeming tracks: Ratamahatta, Jasco, Itsári, Canyon Jam More Brazilian tribal, less metal please.

Was familiar with a few tracks. The rest were also good. I liked it.

Good lyrics, but I'm not big on country

This didn't hit with me when it came out and it doesn't particularly hit with me now. It's still okay

I think I prefer The White Stripes I'm doses of single tracks rather than full albums. I like them but after a while Jack's voice begins to grate.

I preferred Songs in the Key of Life. This has Superstitious, other than that the rest is too sappy for my liking.

I understand it's inclusion here it just isn't something I would go back to repeatedly.

Another album that doesn't really do anything for me

It's hard to believe that it took 10 albums for Aretha to find commercial success. This is a vocal masterclass.

Something something, California. Don't say I didn't warn ya. Ding-dang-dong-dang-dong California. Just a good examine of Chili Peppers.

I wasn't really Familie with Nilsson other than Without You and Coconut. I enjoyed this one, the rest was pretty decent and I like it when you can understand what is being sung.

This gets 2 purely for the three classics in the middle. As an album the rest is just meh. This isn't even taking into account Jackson himself. It's just not that great. And Macca what were you thinking?

Tina puts everything into her performance only to be let down by 80s production that hasn't aged well.

A pretty decent blues album. Not significantly better than other boys albums. Probably on the list because of the legend that is Jim Morrison. I enjoyed it

I like this more now than when it came out.

Another Neil Young album that I find just boring

I was expecting to like this more than I did, but I didn't

It may be a pondering record, but it is extremely dated. 2 stars for Sucker M.C.'s and It's Like That.

I never got into Green Day when they first showed up and listening to this now hasn't changed that. It is how I remembered it. Just average

It was all pretty samey. Nothing really stood out until Sprawl II.

I started out not quite looking the vocal style, but after a few tracks it stopped bothering me. Not bad. I even put it on for a second listening.

I fail to understand how this list justifies having 8 of this guys records on it. (Solo, & Crazy Horse, CSN&Y) I've listened to three of them and so far they all suck.

The guy can sing, but the 80s production has not stood the test of time.

When I was at school my best friends sister was mad about Björk. Bronwen you, like Björk, were ahead of the curve.

I feel that this would be great to experience live. As an album it's okay for a single run through, but I don't think I would go out of my way to listen to it.

I don't get the obsession with Free Bird.

I was expecting to like this more than I actually did. I think it's sound is too polished for a blues album and that makes it sound unauthentic, it's lacking soul.

The production is amazing, but the music itself is so dull.

Starts strong, but after a while it begins to sound a bit repetitive.

It didn't do a while load for me, but I'm not dreading the next Elvis Costello album in unlike when I get something from Neil Young.

I should have enjoyed this more than I did, but it just didn't work for me.

Am I a country convert? Great story telling. The guitar carries you along.
