1001 Albums Summary

Absolutely class album. Hesitating to give 5 stars for the irrational reason of rating the first of 1001 albums. But love the Doors

Not bad, not good either. It’s just not so interesting and doesn’t captivate or tell a story.

Everything on this album just clicks. Hard to give a rating lower than 5 for any album with such guitar play of Knopfler. Absolute no skip and also an album that you can listen to everyday, while doing anything. Cooking, drinking, sports, reading, that’s rare.

No questions asked. Hands down best and most creative punk album ever made. Might feature in best albums ever, at least it is mine. For how inkovative and alternative this album is, absolute no concessions were made on quality.

FTL: This album is like being spawned in a tropical rainforest, not knowing where the fuck you are. Surrounded by exotic bird sounds and trees breathing lively, a talking bonobo shows you the way. Really hearing influences of Miles Davis throughout the record but combined with the synths, flute and sly influences, this really is an amazing record.

FTL: Very interesting album. Quite like nothing I’ve heard specifically. Intensifying melodies followed by very soft an distant ones. Some eerie sounds in there. Has some features of the Doors. Also heard some Pixies elements in there but guess that would be the other way around, timeline wise. Was even more intrigued after googling the band afterwards and noticing the glam and goth style with Bowie influences. Album doesn’t get more than 3 stars tho, but that’s because we have to keep in mind all other great albums still coming.

One of my all time favourite artists. Minor issue with the album is consistency of energy. Some of the songs are just ever present in my playlist and are pure fuel. But the album just doesn’t make a perfect no skip, so four stars.

FTL: I might just not understand this record. Would I die listening to this again… no. But wouldn’t do it voluntarily either.
