The same age as me, the album is remarkably diverse, so there is no chance not to like at least one track. Anyway, as a whole it's not working for me, at least for now.
Interesting work, even for the one who is not into grunge.
Since all I've listened to before was Cosmic Dancer, I can call The Slider my first T.Rex experience. Well, the album is extremely easy to dive into. The songs are catchy, but not primitive. Actually, it feels like something I've been listening to for years. Great album!
LE-GEN-DA-RY! You may not know who they are, but you definitely heard the songs
I did not know this side of Pixies. Dark and desperate. The album is solid and tough.
So soft and relaxing you could completely dissolve into this album. Love it. Not so complicate but still satysfying.
There is definitely something catchy in it. Anyway, it's more like background music.
Sometimes it sounds scary but in a good way with all these random squeaks and gasps and howls.
Ol' Man River is everything! Epic album, I think I'll return to it.
I totally love the album, though I'm not into punk music. This one is so energetic and harmonic and high-quality, so I would keep it for my collection.
It sounds totally out of time, in a good sense! The opening song is like 00s and then you see 1974. Stunning!
Living proof that album cover is deceiving. Adorable music!
You understand that you're getting old when soul music doesn't sound embarrassing anymore. Sweet! I'm in, deeply.
Sounds interesting, hip-hop intertwined with jazz-funk, I've never heard anything like that
I was impressed by Slider, but this one is more dull. Anyway, Cosmic Dancer is a legend.
I've listened to it three times within weeks and still don't get it.
I don't know, it feels like this music sounds a bit outdated. Like it meant to be cool, but it's not anymore.
Warm and nostalgic sound, just like honey!
I'm still processing "best album ever" information. I like some songs - There is a light..., some girls..., so on. Actually, I Like the Smiths, but in small doses.
Wow, I guess this album opened Jimi's music to me. Sounds great!
I'm not into hip-hop, but this one sounds creative and even cute
I'm not a fan of The Rolling Stones, it's always been hard for me to understand why they are so liked. Anyway, this time I'm closer than ever, the album sounds fresh and catchy.
That's so relieving to review something familiar after all these chaotic albums. I've been listening to High Violet for seven years. I love Berninger's desperate lyrics and voice. I can't say High Violet is my favourite National's album, I'm into Trouble Will Find Me, I'm Easy To Find - late ones. Anyway, I'm glad to see High Violet in this project!
To my surprise, I really enjoyed the album. Rock music is supposed to be driving, but in fact most of the time it misses the mark. Bat Out of Hell burns bright.
My grandpa is a total fan of such music. The album is one of the best in this genre. Anyway, it was fun just for like 2-3 songs. So, 5 from my grandpa and 3 from me.
I don't know, it feels like they are too nice, too righteous.
The album sweeps you off your feet with its energy! The life itself! I'm still struggling with funk and other "fun" genres, but I really liked this one!
Amazing, I love these guys! The more I listen to Cosmo's Factory, the more satisfying it seems. Actually, it works with almost every album in 1001, so this one was lucky not to be reviewed too soon
Sweet surrender is great. I like that sexy vibe of 70s. Obvious and naive.
The album sounds exactly in the colours of its cover art - not too pinkish (we know, it happens in shoegaze) but rather in dark ruby-pink colours. I like rediscovering it again and again, it definitely has huge power.
Hah, Rolling Stones kidnapped Bob Dylan - that's how it sounds for me. I like it though.
Oh, love it! I've never heard of them before, but the album is so adorable!
I like both the complexity and simplicity of the album. Sacrifice is extremely catchy!
The kind of hip-hop I like. So many bangers!
First, the music surprised me since the cover doesn't match with the sound IMHO. As for the sound, it's pretty odd - sometimes it sounds like Andrew Bird, sometimes like crazy 60s cult. Anyway, that was interesting experience!
Oh, that cover :D I'm not into salsa, but that was quite pleasant.
After the brilliant George Harrison's album "All things must pass" I just can't rate it higher. Or I just don't like Paul.
I can't stop listening! I've never really new George as an artist apart from beatles, it's incredible! So delicate and smart, love it!
Eclectic one. So much styles under one cover. Still confused
I have to confess that Neil Young was all about "Harvest Moon" for me. It was interesting to listen to the complete album, but it's more straightforward, more stylized part of his music. I still like the tender and dreamy sound of Harvest Moon more than this album
The guys sound like Beatles sometimes, but it's 1986. Tomorrow's (Just another day) is the coolest.
Oh, the absolute masterpeice! The first album we've tested on our B&W stereosystem. So many sounds in perfectly organized harmony! Fiona scares me with her talent
I've tried this one three or four times and was about to give up and stop trying. Actually, the album is wery uneven. Where Is My Mind stands out like a tree in a field.
It took me an hour to go from "meh, too noisy and messy" to "god, I love this". Doll parts, the song I've known as Tricky's, sounds so fresh and powerful, I can't help listening to it on repeat. Oh, and the cover is a legend!
