Pills 'n' Thrills And Bellyaches
Happy Mondaysi thought i loved this album until i realised i didnt
i thought i loved this album until i realised i didnt
this is like the musical equivalent of those 52-in-1 game cartridges for the NES. theres country, jazz, psych rock, blues, and even ambient on Cavalry???????????????? and why are half of the songs named one of the 5 W's with "You Love" stuck on the end???????? this may be the weirdest one yet.
I HATE EMINEM! I LOVE HIPHOP AND EVERYHTING ASSOCIATED WITH IT! BUT THIS GUY FUCKING SUCKS! FUCKING EDGELORD WHO CARES!!!!!! FUCK YOU EMINEM!!!!! I HATE BEING WHITE BECAUSE OF YOU!!!!
nuh uh. how can this guy be blind. theres no way. now i have no excuse to be shit at anything. im not even blind, only slightly fat. fav songs: youre the sunshine of my life, maybe your baby, youve got it bad girl, blame it on the sun, i believe.
fuck off
did not expect the big mouth theme song on the first day but thats just the way the cookie crumbles fav songs: supernaut, snowblind
there are two things the french are good at: 1. rioting 2. electronic music fav songs: new star in the sky, you make it easy, kelly watch the stars
holy shit this gets so depressing so fast. fucking alton towers level of an emotional rollercoaster. fav songs: in the cold cold night, i just dont know what to do with myself, youve got her in your pocket, the hardest button to button.
snooze fest. honk shoo honk shoo. at least it isn’t unlistenable, just not anything worthy of interest. would probably find it interesting if i was 45 years old. fav song: the loser in the end
two queen albums in a row. at least this one is slightly more enjoyable. meh highs and profoundly low lows. fav songs: tenement funster, stone cold crazy, misfire, she makes me.
its called transformer but wheres optimus prime or bumblebee?? explain?! fav songs: andys chest, perfect day, hangin round, im so free, goodnight ladies
this is so sleazy motel-core. my smooth baby idiot brain doesnt have the capacity to fully immerse myself in an instrumental song over 8 minutes long. fav songs: peaches en regalia, little umbrellas, it must be a camel.
its perfectly ok. im sure its something profound or influential in the world of brazilian music and samba in general. i think my brazilian friends will enjoy this far more than i did. fav song: suadade eterna
autism be damned my boy absolutely rips on the harmonica. astronomically high high points and just meh low points, they aren't bad in any way, just not particularly interesting compared to the absolute doozies on this. fav songs: visions of johanna, i want you, stuck inside of mobile with the memphis blues again, just like a woman, absolutely sweet marie, fourth time around, sad eyed lady of the lowlands.
early 2000’s radiohead is the best radiohead. definitely their most sonically diverse album ever. perfect blend between all hail the thief (my fav album of theirs) and kid a. fav songs: pakt like sardines in a crushd tin can, pulk/pull revolving doors, i might be wrong, like spinning plates, life in a glasshouse.
ok i know that i've called multiple albums so far "not interesting" but this one takes the cake, the cream of the crop, the pinnacle of "not interesting", to me at least. usually when i do work and listen to music i can at least remember and actually recognise the music's existence in some way, i could not with this album, i had no strong memory of a single song, and truthfully, i still dont. the piano on abattoir blues sounds like its from sibelius (the music notation software), which makes it slightly more memorable than any other song. fav song: abattoir blues
absolutely fucking hilarious. sounds like a very unimaginative parody. southern rock opera is an “appropriate” name. fav songs: i dont know i fell asleep everytime i tried to listen through it in one sitting
love the abundance of interesting sounds. definitely gets stronger towards the end, and far more depressing. fav songs: liability, sober II, writer in the dark, supercut, liability (reprise).
um i have no fucking clue cause i decided to listen to this after walking 10 miles on a dirt footpath in torrential rain. i have no recollection of sleeping for 3 hours or this album at all.
i am severely confused. no album ever needs this much sitar. fav songs: chocolat, candyman.
it has its moments of brilliance. shame those are not that frequent. fav songs: goldfinger, gone the dream, oh yeah, lost in you.
definitely the most divisive nirvana album. but also definitely my favourite. i also definitely have enough teenage angst to connect with it. fav songs: scentless apprentice, radio friendly unit shifter, dumb
it definitely got my brbrbrbrojo workin. wish i studied more blues instead of classical in school. i prefer the live versions. fav songs: i got my brand on you, baby please dont go, tiger in your tank, ive got my mojo working (and Pt.2), goodbye newport blues.
really fucking corny at the start, but less so as the album progresses. INSANE instrumentals. fav songs: somewhere in hollywood, baron samedi, the sacro-lliac, oh effendi.
more vocally talented faye webster. and i fucking love faye webster. god this is so fucking awesome. fav songs: western stars, lock, stock, and teardrops , black coffee, tears dont care who cries then, im down to my last cigarette.
its a red hot chilli peppers album all right. 1hr 19mins is too much red hot chilli peppers for the human body to endure. every song is about 2 minutes too long. fav songs: breaking girl, i could have lied, give it away, under the bridge, castles made of sand.
extremely bipolar. and not really in a good way. fav songs: solsbury hill, modern love, humdrum, waiting for the big one.
i am such a sucker for weird ass fucking sounds that make my ears bleed. “frankie teardrop” is about 8 minutes longer than it ever needed to be. fav songs: ghost rider, cheree, johnny, che.
boring as shit and he's a nonce and about 5 of his 7 wives died on "accident"
never really been a fan of the beatles, and i think that continues into not being a fan of most of paul mccartneys post-beatles work. but this is fine. just not greatly interesting. fav songs: band on the run, bluebird, country dreamer.
oh fuck. artistry on the next fucking level. generational. fav songs: lights on, two weeks, hours, video girl, number, kicks.
snoozefest. would probably like it if i was a 60 year old real estate agent driving home on a friday night in my diesel audi a6 knowing my wife cooked up a mean carbonara. fav songs: those instrumental ones idk their names
this is not better than to pimp a butterfly. not even close. now thats a reference only the true music enthusiasts will get.
less personality than the solo lou reed stuff, and the lou reed i expected only came out on the 3rd track. love how they let the instrumental shine. fav songs: candy says, some kinda love
fuck off
expertly curated. god i love electronica. fav songs: rockafeller stank, gangster trippin, build it up tear it down, you're note from brighton
cool ass chamber / bedroom pop shit. just a tad less string ensemble wouldve been nice. fav songs: grumpus, up with people, what else could it be.
i should get into psychedelics. fav songs: them belly full, rebel music, talkin blues, revolution, am-a-do.
its not good. but its not offensively bad.
i prefer gorillaz. fav songs: beetlebum, youre so great, death of a party, strange news from another star.
if the beatles and the smiths had a massive orgy this would be the outcome. fav songs: i cant sleep, timeless melody, way out, looking glass.
extremely 2000's for an album from 1989. thats the most impressive thing about it.
bob dylan i would drink ur bath water...#random good ol bob at his most emotionally vulnerable. love to see it. fav songs: simple twist of fate, idiot wind, you're gonna make me lonesome when you go, meet me in the morning, shelter from the storm, buckets of rain.
the perfect album for that one radio station in GTA V or as a needle drop in a Quentin Tarantino film. you decide whether thats good or not. fav song: no feelings
yep yep yep. straight gas. fav songs: where do the children play?, wild world, into white, father and son.
joni mitchell removed her albums from spotify. i cannot be FUCKED to listen to it via youtube. consider this a fuck you to joni mitchell.
the smiths are only cool when i listen to them, whenever someone else enjoys them i instantly think less of them as a human being. not my favourite project of theirs. however some of their best songs are on this. fav songs: a rush and a push and the land is ours, i started something i couldnt finish, girlfriend in a coma, stop me if you think youve heard this one before, last night i dreamt that somebody loved me, i wont share you.
long live the digeridoo. fav songs: too young to die, music of the mind, emergency on planet earth.
i would rather listen to the arctic monkeys. fav songs: the chamber, my mistakes were made for you, time has come again.
FAR too many songs. makes it a slog most of time. thank god there are some absolute gems hidden in the slog. fav songs: rococo, city with no children, half light I, we used to wait.
an hour and a half of the beatles. ugh. never been a fan of the beatles and this just confirmed it. some stand out moments that get hidden beneath all the fucking rubbish on this shit. overrated as fuck. cant believe old people listen to this and then say "rap? more like crap!" and then proceed to give To Pimp A Butterfly a 1/5. fav songs: happiness is a warm gun, blackbird, long long long.
look, this album is absolutely incredible and an achievement and pivotal moment in the genre. but im not enthralled in it to warrant a 5/5, its probably my gen z attention span but im not as invested in it as i wish i was. i also dont like how the interludes/skits are integrated into the songs, but at least they are some of the best interludes ever. its also a tad long. not annoyingly long. not like a certain album with a white cover. fuck you the beatles for making to me listen to an hour and a half of your music. im still angry about that. fav songs: ex factor, to zion, doo wop, i used to love him, the miseducation of lauryn hill, tell him.
blah blah blah bleh boring boring boring. not offensively bad so it gets a 2.
possibly the most iconic and era defining album of all time? incredible. apart from being too long and some weird ass interludes. you know the one. fav songs: gimme the loot, ready to die, one more chance, unbelievable, suicidal thoughts.
extremely bipolar. still boring. fav songs: shes not dead, pantomime horse, sleeping pills, breakdown, the next life.
this is so great. but lacks the emotional connection i look for in a 5/5. if i wasnt so stingy with my 5/5’s this would be one. fav songs: tuesdays gone, gimme three steps, simple man.
a tribe called quest is just special. i dont know whether its the beats, the flows, the lyrics, or just the overall vibe, but it just works. perfect. fav songs: lack of lucien, i left my wallet in el segundo, pubic enemy, bonita applebum, rhythm, description of a fool.
ahh some good ol schizophrenia inducing music which makes your mom think you joined a satanic cult. fav songs: sweet loaf, human cannonball, USSA, kuntz, 23 going on 23
calling this electronica is a stretch. like james bond music if it was longer and more boring.
it hasnt aged great, but thats because hiphop has evolved to such a great level in the years since this released. but it is refreshing to listen to something so simple and somewhat effective. but if you use this album as a basis to write off all hiphop, i will personally go to your house and punch you in the face.
this isnt on spotify. so consider this also a fuck you to neil young. im not putting up with this bullshit. joni mitchell and neil young can both go fuck themselves.
i prefer metallica. fav songs: children of the damned, hallowed be thy name.
i grew out of this style of music a long time ago, im sorry.
nuh uh. how can this guy be blind. theres no way. now i have no excuse to be shit at anything. im not even blind, only slightly fat. fav songs: youre the sunshine of my life, maybe your baby, youve got it bad girl, blame it on the sun, i believe.
i MUCH prefer post ok-computer radiohead. but this one is probably my favourite album from this era of the band. also the first radiohead album i ever listened to :) fav songs: the bends, fake plastic trees, just, my iron lung, bullet proof...i wish i was, street spirit.
sure i guess
i think i like this more than i do because its only 29 minutes long. either way i dont mind it. fav songs: are you happy?, magic hollow, the wolf of velvet fortune, old kentucky home.
yeah ok whatever
oh fuck yeah. fav songs: sleep to dream, criminal, slow like honey, the first taste, carrion.
ooooooohhhh yeeeaahhhhh going straight into the background music playlist. ooooooo yeeaahahahahha babaeyyyyyyy ooooo zoooo weeeeee yehahah.
would be a 5 if it wasnt for the fact that 3 songs are mushed into one. just let each song be their own song. it just makes the music annoying to add to any playlists. fav songs: the last 4 ones on spotify (excluding bonus)
i have this weird inclination to marry my cousin......... fav songs: you aint going nowhere, pretty boy floyd
yeah sure okay!!
very pretty. he looks exactly like young al pacino holy fucking shittttt. fav songs: suzanne, sisters of mercy, hey thats no way to say goodbye.
im sorry garfunkel is such a funny name
possibly my favourite album cover of all time. just some guys being dudes.
ok!
its fine. some are the songs are bangers tho. but its just ok.
liked it way more than i expected.
consider this an apology for rating her debut only a 4.
i think im too young to fully connect with this. but Paradise City..... i also depise everyone who loves this band. you know who you are.
FUCK THE SEX PISTOLS. THE CLASH ARE SO MUCH FUCKING BETTER. fav songs: remote control, im so bored with the usa, hate and war, whats my name, career opportunities, police and thieves.
i just dont care
i dont really care about this either
yesyesyesyesyesyesyes. just yes.
yeah man im good
i did not realise how much i liked thom yorke and how intergral he is to my liking of radiohead until listening to the 2 songs hes on this album. whenever i hear something even remotely similar to the guano apes i go feral and start drooling. fav songs: big exit, beautiful feeling, the whores hustle and the hustles whore, this mess we're in, this is love, horses in my dreams, we float, this wicked tongue. ok this entire album is fucking incredible.
yeha! ok! im not 13 anymore so this doesnt hit the same
i dont care. i just dont care about led zeppelin. at all. i simply do not care.
wtf is a souxsie
way better than i expected in every way. wowee!
3 hours lol
i thought i loved this album until i realised i didnt
wowzers consider me surprised this was awesome sauce!
the 1 second song is awesome
idk what i expected portishead to be but consider me impressed
nostalgias a bitch
+1 for the 70s show intro
i mean yeah it’s incredible but some of the songs have far too long instrumental sections. and those sections include sounds which are physically repulsive. yes im talking about ride across the river.
i think this will only get better with more listens.
this would go so hard in a jpegmafia mashup
suprisingly cohesive
this is in the top 3 goofiest albums of all time. this is so goofy and silly.
this is like the musical equivalent of those 52-in-1 game cartridges for the NES. theres country, jazz, psych rock, blues, and even ambient on Cavalry???????????????? and why are half of the songs named one of the 5 W's with "You Love" stuck on the end???????? this may be the weirdest one yet.
this is maybe THE genre / style of music which i just cannot care about no matter how "good" it is. i just have no interest for it.
this is a cautious 4. i am an avid beatles hater but even i appreciate Sgt Pepper’s and now this.
ambient music with a weird scandanavian woman singing over the top? count me in.
yeah im too white for this
pleasantly surprised. strongest at its more african inspired / fusion tracks than the more straightforward piano and guitar tracks.
i just loathe eminem with every fibre of my being.
oh my fucking god the singer sounds like jennifer coolidge. what the fuck.
like if ACDC had no personality
slightly better than their magazine
this is the coolest thing ever.
what the other guy said
just wow. the first two tracks each being 16 minutes long is a bit jarring. but this is a fucking journey.
is it weird that i prefer the music directly inspired by this than this itself
contender for horniest album of all time. but you know what. you’ve got a great voice. you go girl.
alice in wonderland and jade visions may be the best jazz pieces ever created.
sure why not
touche top review.... touche.....
i dont like big band that much.... sorry. makes me feel like im playing a fallout game :)
perfect drum and bass album. whats not to love?
you listen to the first track and you've basically heard all of them. doesnt mean the first track isnt bad though.
you can always have too much of a good thing.
not enough fuzz. severely disappointed. same vibes as weezer. you decided whether thats good or not.
k
i mean come on
love the instrumentals. not so keen on the vocals though.
if only this was on spotify.
maybe my mum does have good music taste after all
it just made me want to listen to the smiths. sorry.
incredible. just far too long.
why is the siesta not a normal thing for other cultures. what a shame.
i dont really care about the rolling stones
nah im good
alright alright alright
rootin tootin
do i care about van halen? as a guitarist myself? yes. do i care about the music he created though? not really.
pioneer.
i hate oldheads. but i think i get it now. a tribe called quest still clears.
yeah ok
funny ass band name. wish they made more interesting music.
whatevs
i mean yeah come on. just the voice alone is worth it.
yeah its psych rock. i get it already. theres about 900 psych rock albums on this fucking list. give me something new.
I HATE EMINEM! I LOVE HIPHOP AND EVERYHTING ASSOCIATED WITH IT! BUT THIS GUY FUCKING SUCKS! FUCKING EDGELORD WHO CARES!!!!!! FUCK YOU EMINEM!!!!! I HATE BEING WHITE BECAUSE OF YOU!!!!
all new wave sounds the same. but the smiths do it better.
i love noise. just walls of sound. just pure sound waves going into my ear snail.
idgaf
the top review can go fuck itself. showing off their “intelligence” instead of just saying they don’t like the music. just say your racist while you’re at it. fucking hell.
not the best metallica but its up there
