Could have gone my whole life without listening to this one and I’d be just fine. Jennifer Lawrence vibes for some reason. I just imagine here in scenes with these songs as the soundtrack. Didn’t connect with any of the lyrics and only one song made my head nod. Not quite a roll
Really enjoyed it. Most of the songs had great rhythm. Above average 7.6
Great album. Legs was a banger. Couldn’t understand most of the lyrics. Could have used subtitles. The best songs were at the start of the album. Things really died off after they had that ad in there about TV Dinners. 7.1
Was not expecting this one. I’m a big rhythm guy so not being able to understand the lyrics didn’t bother me. The album had some really great new sounds I’ve never heard together that really harmonized well. The monkey drum got me good. Added Xica da Silva and Taj Mahal to my personal playlist. Had me singing and listening on repeat 8.5
First impressions, not great. Sounds like a band in my neighbors garage. The second song screaming into a $19.99 lavalier microphone... It sounds awful. Ear rape is an expression I really want to use. Normally I’d be worried about being canceled but there is a song called “Rape Me” in this album which feels appropriate. The main signer sounds like he just had his wisdom teeth pulled and the novacaine hasn’t warn off. “Radio Friendly Unit Shifter” has some of the worst noises I’ve ever heard in a song. Crazy awful feedback that people somehow found enjoyable. This is music you listen too when you want to spite your parents while doing meth in an abandoned house. As I keep listening to this album it keeps getting worse. 1.3
Started out great. Song 2 slaps so hard. I noticed it had the same riff of the Nirvana song Smells Like Team Spirit which is one of the slim few songs from them I like. Other than that, none of the other songs really spoke to me. Most of the songs were just pretty okay. “Chinese Bombs” felt really out of place. Distortions don’t work for me if it’s the entire song. Good thing it was a short. Overall it was fine. I’m not really big into 90s indie rock. 6/10
It says rock but I feel like this is an improv bebop jazz band that isn’t sure what kind of music they want to play. There are so many instruments playing and the beat continues to change for a lot of the songs. “The Bob” it sounded like a war broke out in the middle of the song. Heavy breathing into the mic. What is happening. This genre is different, but I’m not sure I would call it good. I never found myself singing along to anything or wanting to dance. One thing is for sure, it’s not repetitive, because not a single song had a chorus. Songs would go from moderately enjoyable to boring without warning. This album is like an all you can eat buffet. But it’s CiCi’s Pizza 3/10
Wonderful back story to this Album. If this was America’s Got Talent, it would be given the golden buzzer. However this isn’t that and I’m not Howie Mandel. Whole lotta trumpet 🎺 and Saxophone 🎷 almost too much. This is for Jazz listeners. I actually wanted more singing!! The singing was wonderful. Great voice and I enjoyed the choir. Song length… a wise woman once told me 12 minutes is a long time. Overall I had some fun with this album although it did feel repetitive in some sections where they could have added more variety. I do like working to Jazz and found myself listening to more songs from the artist throughout the day. Nothing over the top, just decently good. 6/10
Please join me in welcoming the newest fan of Led Zeppelin. “Whole Lotta Love” I started out jamming to but suddenly I was in a bad acid trip in the middle of the song (Remastered version). I guess that Pink Floyd style of random noises really was popular during this era. I found myself liking the (Rough Mix with vocal) version more. The opening bassline and harmonica in “Bring It on Home” was extremely pleasant to the ears. 9/10
Elvis Costello’s voice is a little annoying. Kinda sounds like a South Park character who’s playing himself, making fun of himself. “Senior Service” was catchy but not catchy enough to save this album. “Sunday’s Best” felt like it could have been the track at a carnival. Whatever genre of music this is… it is not doing it for me. I really do feel you could search up Royalty Free Music and you would find songs from this album. 2/10
Because I don’t know anything about 60s music I would have just assumed this was the Beatles. Feel good music. Who doesn’t like feeling good? “I want her, she wants me” they only sang into my left ear. Not a fan of that. “Butcher’s Tale” has a melody that is definitely in one of the Jack Box games. “Time of the Season” is a great way to close out the album. Overall I liked the album but didn’t fall in love. 6/10
I like the overall vibe of this music. It feels good to listen to. Makes your mornings nice and relaxing. Makes me want to grow corn. I could be going 20 in 45 to this music because I’m towing a trailer. Sometimes it felt Bob was singing off key or not with the melody of the song. “Idiot Wind” he doesn’t hold back… “you’re an idiot babe”. The harmonica/guitar has a special place in my heart. No one song was notable, but not a bad choice of music to play just to switch things up. Imagine if Jimmy Buffet grew up on a farm and not in Key West. That’s Bob Dylan. I really want to crack a beer and watch my corn grow now. 6/10
HOLY FIRST SONG MY FUCKING EARS!! After the first song I thought I was doomed but it transitioned into some light synth music you might find in a video game. There were a ton of beautiful melodies like in “Joan of Arc”. While it’s not the greatest album I appreciate that this laid the foundation for Synth Pop/Wave music which is secretly a favorite genre of music for me to work to. Would I play this at a party? No. Will I listen to this album again by myself? Yes. 3 songs added to my liked playlist. 8/10
Have you ever been so bored that you wanted to drive yourself off the road just to spice things up? That’s what this album made me feel. While listening I imagined myself down to my last 25 cents, last cigarette, watching the Detroit Lions get crushed by the Baltimore Ravens 6 to 38 on the tail end of a losing Parlay. Just sad… all the way around. Why is Leonard Cohen smiling in this Album cover? That’s so misleading. Everyone that helped make this music must have been experiencing chronic depression at the time, and not the funny kind. The kind were they really close to ending it all. This shit make Bob Dylan look like a living legend. This is my new least favorite genre of music. Well done. 1/10
There is a nice blend jazz, funk and SOUL!!! that is quite delicious. The Cisco Kid was a friend of mine. One song felt a bit too long. Four Cornered Room was another favorite. At the end of the album I couldn’t wait to start it over again. I could listen to this type of music anywhere. The vocals, the instruments, the rhythm… it all worked for me. 8/10
Very flaccid music. He sings about odd subjects and stories. Cars, trains, the brain, random thoughts he’s having I guess? Are we sure he isn’t a School House Rock singer? “Cars are Cars” could have easily been a hit. Unfortunately, that was the only song I liked. You can’t take this guy seriously, that’s the trick. I was happy when the album was over. 4/10
Just middle of the road music instrumentally. However, it’s bands like these that make me gravitate towards music that doesn’t contain lyrics because wtf are they even saying? Mr Shankly please kindly shank me. Holy voice cracks my ass. The lyrics feel really forced over the tracks like trying to read a speech that doesn’t match the pace of the song. Which is strange because the lyrics are such trash why did they try so hard to make it work? That’s poetry I guess. You can probably swap the lyrics interchangeably between songs and they would still sound about the same. “Some girls mothers are bigger than other girls’ mothers” - The Smiths. That’s the most poetic thing I’ve ever heard. The lyrics didn’t add something to this album, they took something away. This killed the Queen. Case closed. 3/10
Surprisingly my favorite songs from this album aren’t the ones that most people pick. “The Prisoner, 22 Acacia Avenue, Hallowed Be Thy Name” (reminds me of To whom the bell tolls). I like repetitive riffs assuming they are good which this album had plenty of. Hats off to the guitarist and drummer. I never figured myself to be a heavy metal fan because I didn’t grow up with it. I discovered it in my early 20s and slowly became more and more drawn to it. I will be looking out for more Iron Maiden songs for sure. I had to listen to “The Number of the Beast” a handful of times to really appreciate it. Now I see why it became the biggest hit from the album. Lots of great transitions. I found myself wanting to listen to this album a lot today. I liked every song on this album and that is deserving of a perfect score. 10/10
They open the album with what I can only describe as someone stroking the bristles of a plastic comb. They just giving out record deals to everyone in the 80s. He definitely was experimenting with new sounds. Some one said “I’m going to need more cowbell” and for 3 straight songs Peter said “Yes”. “Family Snapshot” became Family Trauma. Still my favorite song on the album though. Not my type of music overall. Won’t play it again on purpose. 5/10
Well I’m not a country fan so my critiques don’t matter. It’s not going to get a high score. This is mostly blue grass. Slow, boring, can’t wait for this album to be over. Why does it have to be so long? 2/10
As much as I like hip-hop I really didn’t like this. The beats were not great. I get they were trying a futuristic theme but the instrumentals just weren’t good. Planet 10 sounded like people using Voice Mask on Xbox when I was a kid. The raping didn’t have a great flow to it. “Watch me as I go pee-pee” was a solid rap lyric. “The moon’s Contractor” had a cool soundtrack for 10 minutes with 1 minute of rap. Really wasn’t feeling this one 3/10
John Wick soundtrack? Just in time for Halloween because a lot of these songs are spooky. This music makes me want to break things. I imagine this is the hype track for mass shooters. Wow. And “The Becoming” is just a mass shooter in action with people screaming. “A warm place” was a nice break. “Eraser” opens with someone pinching a straw while blowing through it. Wait… what.. Johnny Cash took the song “Hurt” from this guy? What a bizarre and dark journey this album was. I generally dislike depressive music like this but I somehow ended up being okay with it just become some of heavy electronic melodies go so hard. He could write soundtracks for action and thriller movies for sure. 6/10
These are not songs. This is slam poetry read with music in the background. She titled the album her name so you didn’t think it was Fiona Apple. The titanic is sinking, we’re not gunna make it. Sorry Suzanne no room for you on the door. I could fall asleep to “Small Blue Thing” Pretty relaxing. Other than that I’m glad it was a short album so I can go back to listening to music. 2/10
The first song was the intro to a 80s sitcom that never stops introducing characters for 7 minutes. Quite repetitive and way too long. However the music throughout this album is enjoyable to listen to. John Barleycorn slaps. Think of this as a tasteful blend of folk and jazz. 7/10
Finally a great rap album. I get hyped listening to 50 cent. All the beats are so clean, simple yet inventive. I’ve heard most of these songs because of how popular he became. I’ve nearly heard the entire album throughout my life without directly listening to it cover to cover. But even the songs I had not heard were 🔥. I had to switch to the explicit version because too much was lost in the censoring. Couple of songs were less than amazing but there were a lot of songs on this album so I’ll let it slide. 9/10
A 70s band that isn’t bad. FX was just Pink Floyd noise stuff. Everyone in the 70s really was tripping balls. Otherwise nothing really stood out about this album. I do tend to favor heavier rock which I felt this was. Closed with a good song “Under the Sun” I probably won’t seek out more songs from this band but also wouldn’t mind hearing more. 7/10
Another solo artist that simply wasn’t good. Long annoying songs. This dude into the mic: “wah wah wah wah” and someone goes “get this man a record deal!”. No idea how people listen to this and call it good music. Strange voice that sounds like his vocal cords are 1/3 the size of a normal person’s. Melodies are bizarre. The album is well titled though because I did feel I hit rock bottom listening to this. That was awful. 1/10
The album started off strong with their most famous song. However I started to get bored with the same repetitive style that existed throughout the album. It was Ight. 6/10
Freddie Mercury and the rest of Queen just sound so good together. Their voices have a great range and sound so unique it’s very pleasing. Will listen again and look out for more albums. 8/10
From the first song I new this album was going to be a jam. Makes me want to go for a pleasant jog and wave at every single stranger I see like I’m in the happiest mood of my life. I don’t even care if my over the top enthusiasm freaks them out. This is my kind of music I listen to if I want to ensure my day is going to be a good one. Some of the other songs were a bit too sappy for me like you are sitting down at a fancy dinner about to propose with a ring at the bottom of a champagne glass. I didn’t have as much enthusiasm towards the end of the Album but it was still good. 7/10
These are all drinking songs. Just look at the album cover. They are all hammered. Had me dancing around the house in ways I didn’t know how. Overall it was fun and I even laughed at a few songs. 7/10
Decent music. A little slow at times but I enjoyed it a bit. 6/10
Super Furry Animals…. Not what I was expecting thank god. This album was one of the better ones I’ve heard so far simply because all the songs sounded different. The wide range of sounds and styles made every song feel unique from the last. Some of the sounds can be a bit strange but didn’t feel repetitive which is refreshing if you are in the mood for a bit of variety when it comes to listening to an album. No one song stuck out as a hit, but the album as an entire experience was great. I’ll be listening to this album again for sure especially on a road trip. 8/10
Truly beautiful music. “You Ain’t the Problem” had me jamming from the start. “Piano Joint” was in Ted Lasso and is a remarkable piece. “Final days” was another that really made me feel something. All of Michael Kiwanuka’s songs are so simple yet so eloquent. It’s just so smooth like marble finished countertops. Some of the songs are mixed so well they roll right into the next track. I was sad when the album was over. 10/10
The vocalist sounds like someone is standing on his windpipe or smashed in his balls with a 9-iron. The music just isn’t interesting. It’s not ear screeching awful, it’s just bland and boring like eating white rice at retirement home. 3/10
Are these supposed to be boy bands before boy bands were a thing? I’m just not a big fan of these types of groups. “Groovin’” wasn’t bad. Which is the name of the album so I assume that’s their best work on here. It was. 4/10
She has a wonderful voice. It’s too bad I don’t like country music because this was a tasteful album. I would have preferred more pop from her versus country. Still it was pleasant to listen to. The instrumentals were clean. It’s rare that I would rate country this high so that’s really saying something. “High Horse” was my favorite song. I wanted more songs that were faster paced pop like that one. Still a great album. 7/10
Tony Hawk music. I keep having to look at the song title to figure out if what I’m hearing is what they are actually singing about. Sure enough, ass… motherfucking… anus… “I got a headache in my pants” this is just one of those bands that can sing about anything and just brush over it. “Do you want to be a dirty boy?” “do you want to suck the cock tonight?” “You claimed the monkey shaved your balls” “sperminator of the asshole” The fuck am I listening to? Teenage boys going through puberty? I’m not a lyrics person but when the lyrics are so blatantly obnoxious it breaks me out of the song I have to dock points. I’m sure if I was 13 years old I would find this album great but those numbers are reversed and my taste has expanded beyond chicken nuggets and cheese pizza. Other than the lyrics being trash, the music felt like generic rock, punk. All I can say is “fuck you. I’d rather have some good head.” 4/10
At some point there should be a cut off for how far back you should be able to listen to music. Music absolutely got better with time. Even if you don’t agree with that, it’s undeniable that the recording equipment is better and makes the music crisper and sharper today. With that being said, the music was way better than I expected it to be. And I wanted it to be bad to prove a point. It’s just funny to be listening to what my grandparents were probably listening to at my age. I’m not the best at rating Jazz because I don’t listen to it enough to know what’s good and bad. I’ll just say it was pleasant and leave it at that 6/10
Techno before techno I’m all for it. Paved the way for a lot of new age dance music. A lot of songs go really hard. I could play it at the gym, a run, playing games, sports, free running… just makes you want to do things. Lots of well known songs that I didn’t know who made them. Kinda rap songs as well. Fun journey. 7/10
“I say some words…. “
Beep bump bump beep bump
“I say more words…. “
Beep bump bump beep bump
All these songs sound the same. It gets old hearing Gary Synth Numan. Not the worst I’ve heard, not the best. These songs by themselves mixed in with other artists would probably sound good. However, cover to cover it’s just too much of the same. Not enough variety for me. 5/10
A lot of great songs on this album. Can’t believe how many of them were used by other artists and made even more popular. A foundational artist for sure. The lyrics are great, the music is great and every song feels original rather than a variation of another song. The album was short so I played it 3 times and will probably listen to it again cover to cover. I really enjoyed this album a lot. I listen a 4th time. 9/10
Lots of interesting electronic notes in these songs but none of them really are that good. I didn’t feel strong about the rhythm in each one. It felt very simplistic with average lyrics. Despite a variety of sounds I just couldn’t jam to many of these songs. It was like better than average hold music. However “Vanishing Point" was really good. That added a point. 6/10
Pleasant music. It’s quite calming. “Hazey Jane II” had me laughing. Idk why the way he sings that song is so funny but it is. “Bryter Layter” sounds like a final fantasy theme song when you enter a remote island village and talk to the shop keeper. “Sunday” is the song it changes to at night in the same village. “Northern Sky” was my favorite. I like the way this album made me feel. I’m going to listen to it again in the future. 8/10
If someone asked me what a bunch of middle class white kids from the suburbs would sound like if they started a rap group after their parents told them to follow their dreams, this is it. This man just said “the girlies I like are underage”. This is not good. This group is really awful sounding. However I see the age group they were targeting with this music. I’m not into high school and college parties anymore. That’s where I would imagine this being played. But… I would be embarrassed to share this music with another culture even though it screams American music. In addition to the lyrics being trash, the beats could be used as a method of torture played for hours to get prisoners to confess war crimes. The melody from “Girls” makes me feel like I’m going insane. I really felt I was at a talent show for 12 year olds with how lame this music was. You have to be intoxicated to find this enjoyable. I cannot recommend it to anyone. It’s albums like these that make me regret agreeing to do this challenge. I know how popular this album is amongst most everyone else, I just don’t know how. 1/10
Amy winehouse. A fitting name for someone who wines on most songs. It would be a nightmare dating her as you get trashed in all her lyrics. Nice voice, great beats, but her personality makes me flaccid. Obviously Frank Sinatra inspired. She over sings a little bit in the same way she over drinks. In “Fuck me Pumps” at least she takes a break shitting on men to take a stab at Miami club bimbos. So far that’s the best one. “I heard love is blind” okay she’s insane. “Amy Amy Amy” was pretty good. You can tell she’s drunk at a bar for that one. Damn she shits on her brother. At least she finished with “Mr Magic” a non-complaining song. Overall decent music but I don’t want any of that poisonous personality so I won’t listen to this album again. I would like to hear a better album from her. She’s got (had) potential. 4/10
I’ve never heard a duet album before. It’s pretty good. It feels like they are singing about each other. It works. The beats are all really good. It didn’t give me chills or anything but it was enjoyable. The first song of the album is still my favorite.
I have no clue what they are singing about in these lyrics. But the musical journey has been enjoyable in “Dancing With The Moonlit Knight” I still don’t know what they are singing about but the music can stand on its own telling a story. “The cinema show” is another goodie. Great music for a road trip, which I just so happen to be on. 8/10
You are now listening to WBALLS. I wouldn’t be able to record this album without laughing my ass off. Just can’t take the background stuff seriously. “Gin and Juice” is such a hit. I really didn’t want to like this album for the stunt Snoop pulled by saying he was going to quit smoking for his health. However, the beats in so many of these songs are dope. The beats do start getting a little old after while. “For all my N*ggaz & Bitches” was straight trash. Snoop isn’t one of my favorite rappers. He does have some good songs and sometimes he makes me laugh. The shallowness of this music hurts my soul though. You wouldn’t catch me listening to this music anymore. Especially in public. 5/10
Elton John is a god. I have so much love for the piano that I’m biased into liking this album no matter what. So many huge hits on this album. It’s a longer album but I wanted it that way. Besides the obvious hits my favorite song that I’ve never heard before until today was “All The Girls Love Alice”. The beat to that song just gets me moving. There wasn’t a single song that I disliked on this album and for that it’s a 10/10
Not my kind of music. Just too slow and boring. My favorite was “If you want to be my woman”. Luckily for me it was a short album. There’s plenty of other genres I’d rather listen to. 4/10
The intro song started out exciting but kinda just turned into noise that didn’t feel well written. I was waiting for it to go somewhere and suddenly it went into “Black Magic Women” which was fantastic. Much of the Latin Rock I’m hearing isn’t really my cup of tea. On one end it’s trying to be relaxing but also thrilling so I’m not sure how I feel about it. Besides “Black Magic Woman”, the rest of the album was just okay. 6/10
This is pretty good 👍 the lyrics are wholesome. I like the art of story telling by this group even if the stories aren’t meaningful or exciting. It just paints a picture in your mind while listening to some pretty dope beats. Favorite song was “Rhythm” I’d listen to this album again. 7/10
I didn’t like this guy’s voice on the last album. That hasn’t changed. It was only slightly better than the last one I listened to. 3/10
Baby making Marvin Gaye. In the middle of the first song I hoped and prayed they all wouldn’t sound like this. That I would actually get some variety. How foolish of me. I do enjoy candy but I couldn’t have an entire meal of it. Likewise I could listen to a song or two, but this entire album was just too sweet and slow for me to want to listen to it again cover to cover. 6/10
Lots of great sounds that take you different places. Especially on the first two songs. “Yoshimi battles the pink robots” was kinda awful. Love Hate Album. Some songs I loved and some I hated. 6/10
There were some cool sounding songs on this album but I didn’t vive with the lyrics. They seemed pretty down. 6/10
Oh boy. That’s a voice I’m not able to get behind. I prefer silence to this album. The instruments were fun but that vocalist is horrible. Will our entire group give this a 1 star? Bet. 2/10
Not for me. Slow. Boring. Vocals didn’t sound good. I feel like this is for people who enjoy being sad. “Transylvania Blues” was only good because there wasn’t any singing. Would have liked the entire album more if it were instrumental. This man really goes Tennessee “you’re the only 10 I see” and put it in a song. And people go wow, so poetic. 2/10
Great album. I didn’t love any particular song but I will listen to this album again. 7/10
That was actually pretty good. A lot of really cool sounding hiphop songs. 7/10
Slow but good. He sounds like he’s reading slam poetry. The music is enjoyable. Could care less for the singing. It didn’t add but it didn’t take away either. The last song had no right to be that long. Otherwise I wouldn’t mind hearing it again. 7/10
I like R.E.M. their music sounds unique to me. The album didn’t have any “hits” but each song sounded different in a good way. 7/10
This was fun to listen to. I generally like movie soundtracks. No clue what they are saying. Production quality is trash today but I’m sure at the time this was considered legendary. I would listen to this music again as a meme but that’s about it. Joe is a racist. 4/10
All these 70s bands sound the same. It was okay without any memorable songs. 6/10
Pretty good album for the 70s. 7/10
Got bored of this album after the first song. Very forgettable music. I had something I was going to say but I forgot. 4/10
A lot of people like Prince and I wasn’t sure why. I now know why. Amazing electric musical artistry. “Darling Nikki” was a bit much. “Purple Rain” is a church song. Other than that, the rest of the album I loved. 9/10
I can’t believe I’ve never heard of this group. One of the better early rap groups I’ve heard so far other than a Tribe Called Quest. Great beats over great sounds. 7/10
This album is a masterpiece. Right up my alley. It’s like a genre that I’ve never heard, but always knew I wanted to hear. ABBA stands for Always Been a Banger Artist. The first song “The Visitors” was a good choice for the title of the album because it is the best. However, every subsequent song was unique and unexpectedly good. I’m going to listening to this album again and again. 9/10
The vocalist recorded this album while sitting atop a running washing machine. Whatever singing style this is bothers me. The piano was fantastic along with the ambient music. But that vocal vibration noise is atrocious. Almost like they are being electrocuted. Based on my listening history I tend to like melancholic music. But not this. That singing killed it. “What Can I Do?” Was fine because I think the Johnsons took over for that one. Aaaand spooky ghost 👻 voice is back…. 2/10
I always like albums that have smooth transitions between tracks. It shows they worked hard to blend the songs even if all the songs sound different. Great lyrics, great voices, great beats. The female vocals were🔥some big hits on here. One of the best hip-hop albums I’ve heard on here. 9/10
So far, nothing stands out. This style of music just doesn’t do anything for me. It’s just white noise. I feel like I’m in a desert. So much vast emptiness. I really didn’t find it enjoyable. 4/10
Such a recognizable sound this group is. I’ve heard a lot of these songs so many times and I’ve never really been a fan. Doesn’t mean I don’t like it, it just isn’t my type of music. I did like the album a lot. I just feel these songs are overplayed. 8/10
What a joyful Christmas Album. Thanks Phil Spector! ❤️
8/10
I always thought Louis Prima was black. Not that it matters. Or does it? Idk. He just has a very distinct deep black voice. Right? Not that all black people have deep rich voices or anything. I’m not racist. I have black friends. I mean they aren’t my friends but I know them. And I know they like jazz music. I blame Louis Armstrong. I’m not racist. Please cancel me now. 8/10
Frank’s music is just a little too slow for something I’d enjoy listening to for long periods of time. He’s got some good hits but I didn’t get anything good from this album. He’s ight. 6/10
Not for me sober 4/10. Maybe if I were high
Music excellent. Singing excellent. I’ll be returning to this album. 9/10
What a fun album. Very unique and interesting group. 8/10
Ravi did a good job of explaining in the intro not to expect harmony in the music. I now know for sure I like harmony in my music. This felt like randomness. As soon as I started to like a cord progression it was gone. Never to be heard again. It just sounds like someone plucking at strings with sometimes aggressive speed. The sitar isn't a pleasing instrument for my unfamiliar ears. It doesn’t work for me. I’m really trying hard to give it a chance but It’s actually aggravating the longer I listen. I want it to be over so bad. That was torture. That was the worst music I’ve heard so far on this list. 1/10
Loved this album. This is a genre I throughly enjoy. Some songs seemed a little bland and uninteresting. Others were fantastic. Spoon Man! 8/10
Recommended with headphones. I always thought Pink Floyd was for pot smokers and acid droppers. While that is still true, listening to them cover to cover, I can see why people are big fans. The songs are so long but it works well if you are having to listen to a whole album anyways. The transitions between melodies and beats make a long song feel like a journey. The ominous sounds always seem a little strange but the transitions make it all worthwhile. The ambience created is unlike anything you get from other albums. Uniqueness is a 10/10. The music is just fun to listen to. The guy who makes a weird cough noise at 40 secs in “Wish You Were Here” scared this shit out of me. The strange thing is, there’s no one song that I want to replay over and over like I generally do when I hear a song I like. With that being a said I still want to rate this album high because of how different and great sounding it is. This will be on the top of my list for a road trip. 8/10
I’m not a fan of Kurt Cobain’s voice. The music was good. His voice grew on me a little in “Come As You Are”. Mainly because I like the song. I still don’t like his voice in most songs. He still sounds like he just had his wisdom teeth pulled and he doesn’t have control of his mouth. This album was much better than the last album I heard from them. Much better songs. Glad I got to see the music video. I now know if Kurt was still alive and tried to talk to me on the street I would say “sorry I don’t have any money” and walk away quickly. 7/10
Girl and guitar. Nothing else in this album. Great voice, great playing but quickly bored. Quickly forgotten. 4/10
The gorillas are weird. Thankfully so am I. They have such a wide range of musical talents I’m not even sure what genre I’m in. “Clint Eastwood” claps cheeks. Even the mostly instrumental songs like “Sound Check” and “Double Bass” were amongst my favorites of this album. Ran 10 miles to this album. Mmmmmm That’s a 10. Or maybe a 9. It wasn’t perfect. I demand perfection for the music gods. 9/10
A classy album. Every song sounded different from the last which is alway a plus for me. Some songs like “Pueblo Nuevo” felt like an intermission song in between a play. The use of the piano 🎹 ❤️. Not exactly an album that I would seek out or feel I need to play again, but it did leave a smile on my face while listening. 6/10
I’m not really sure how to put this… but I didn’t find any of the songs catchy. They were kinda just bland. Woah oh. 5/10
Oh hell yeah! Some hard rock that makes me rock hard. Getting added to my gym playlist. Unfortunately some songs could be done without so maybe just a couple songs from this album are worthwhile. Still enjoyed most of it. 7/10
Great album. Great to wake up to and set yourself up with a good mood. 8/10
The first song is just a long soundtrack for men’s cologne. Wait wait wait wait wait… this album is about a middle aged man romantically interested in a 15 year old girl? Wow times have changed. My goodness so much tongue clicking in “L’hotel particulier” the music was great. But the singing and the pedophilia need to go. I now feel strange having listened to this even though I couldn’t understand the lyrics. It gets a 5 purely for the music. Nothing else. 5/10
Very similar vibes to Bjork but without the accent. The melodies have a strange ambience to them but are done in a way I enjoy. I can’t say exactly why I like this album as much as I do. But I do. Didn’t like it as much the second time I listened to it. 6/10
These songs are a jam to listen to. Although there weren’t any stand out tracks that really sent me over the top. A solid 7/10
Another bizarre album with a melancholic undertone. I don’t remember Radiohead sounding this way from the first album I listened too. Either way, I enjoyed this one. 7/10
The more I listen to this album the more I like it. The beats are simple but really catchy. I’m not the biggest fan of Tom Petty’s voice but it’s not off putting enough to hurt the score. I swear the opening singing to “Breakdown” Tom sounds like he is singing with a mouth full of mashed potatoes. Still my favorite song on the album. 8/10
Didn’t really get much from this one. 5/10
Michael Jackson and Journey had a child. 7/10
Harmony. This is the music they play when you find out you made it to heaven and so did your friends and family. In addition to just sounding good, this group has an emphasis on sending a good message through their lyrics which is a huge plus in my book. “Reasons” and “All about Love” are favorites. 9/10
A lot of these songs just weren’t jamming. There was one song I liked “Sweet and Loving Man” otherwise the beats didn’t make me enthusiastic. Bob Marley is just better. Still good though. Just would not my top choice for reggae. 7/10
Kanye is a great producer. The beats of these songs are so unique and catchy. Kayne features a lot of legends in this album with a ton of top hits. He really is one of the greats. Listening to Kanye’s lyrics though you can tell just how out there he is. Crazy and genius are so closely related. In the realm of art, they are one and the same. The best songs are in the first half. Would have been a 10 if the album ended half way through. 8/10
How have I never heard of this guy? These songs bang. Mariah Carey sang the lyrics “If You Think You’re Lonely Now” in a song of hers which was a fun call back. This dude is 10x better than Marvin Gaye. I’d have sex with him 8/10
Supersonic was the only standout song. Otherwise most of the songs were good but nothing over the top impressive. 7/10
I’ve never heard Jimi Hendrix before. Just his name spoken through whispers. This is not what I expected him to sound like. I’m not even sure what I was expecting. Kinda reminds me of when I first heard Pink Floyd. Very talented. But this just isn’t the type of music I like to jam to. 7/10
Fun album to listen to. The riff in the first song made me expect hard rock but it got a lot softer. They have a unique sound that is different from most English bands although I can’t say what it is. 7/10
So much better than the last Marvin Gaye album I heard. Leagues ahead. Beyond just “Let’s Get It On” the rest of the songs were just beautiful. 8/10
I liked all of these songs. They were great to listen to. Because it was so short, I listened to it a handful of times and it didn’t lose any of its flavor. 8/10
Queen has a style to their music that almost resembles classical music. Most western music tends to focus on repetitive riffs with repeating chords and a chorus. Queen does not. Each song is a journey with ups and downs in tempo. It’s done masterfully. 8/10
This is not the Led Zeppelin I heard in Led Zeppelin 2. I don’t know who these people are. Not nearly as good. Kashmir was a hit though. I’ll give them that. The rest was very mid. 6/10
This album has an extra chromosome. But that doesn’t mean it was bad. Didn’t like it at first. But the second time I listened to them I enjoyed them more. 7/10
The first half was a lot of light piano with what I would call brass airhorns. I love piano because of its consistency and volume. The second half was more my taste. probably won’t seek this out again because of those horns. 6/10
Some parts were beautiful, some parts were dark, some parts were annoying. That was an interesting ride. 6/10
So much great energy from Jerry Lee Lewis. Loved that. Great music. 8/10
A lot of great song on this album. 8/10
Viva Las Vegas Weeeeeeee! 6/10
It just not for me. Too country. 4/10
Not really huge on Green Day tbh 6/10
I get he’s talented. But I’m not a fan of his style of music. It’s all over the place.
The first song was great, but misleading, because the rest of this album was nonsense. It’s like listening to a radio DJ, who just wants to push all the buttons that make noise to be part of the song please don’t you’re ruining it. 3/10
I think they are singing about black people, but I’m not 100% sure. Felt more like slam poetry or an affirmation rather than music. 4/10
Reminds me of the yeah yeah yeahs but much better. I like most of the songs on here 7/10
Idk about the King of Blues but it was okay. The girls screeching in the background wasn’t choice. 6/10
I wasn’t sure if I liked this album, but then “Don’t” came on and that sealed the deal. I didn’t really like it. 4/10
I could listen to this all day. Piano is my spirit animal. I prefer this to any other instrument especially when played solo and freestyle. It soothes my soul and inspires. If you listen close, sometimes he even moans a little bit. Keith Jarrett, thank you for this. 10/10
Strange group. But I’m with it 8/10
The little toaster comes to mind immediately. Not a lot of variety here. He’s got a sound and that sound is his. 7/10
Omg it’s atmospheric liquid drum and bass! One of my absolute favorite genres of music. I would have never expected this to be on here. Makes fantastic work and study music in my opinion. It gives me energy without feeling the need to stand up and dance. I have been blessed this day. 9/10
I was expecting more English rock but I actually got a lot of Indian inspired music. It was tastefully fun. 7/10
Hats off to the orchestra and music composition. I’m of the firm belief that Björk wouldn’t be as great without them. Her voice is great. But her rhythm is just kind of random, which makes the songs a little odd. 7/10
Some songs were good. Some were not
The voices oh the voices I cannot do. 5/10
Classy, catchy, tasty. This is everything I wish hip hop was today. A positive message that isn’t about money, drugs, and sex. Throughly enjoyed this album. 9/10
I liked the first song because of the halo soundtrack. Otherwise, Leonard’s style isn’t really for me. 6/10
Best album from them I’ve heard so far 9/10
Damn this was the pleasuredome. 9/10
I wouldn’t consider myself a swifty but there are some bangers on here. She’s so multitalented it’s crazy. Oh what I would give to be a teenage girl again. 9/10
7/10 good band. Not my favorite
Not my favorite group, but they’re all right 6/10
Beautiful cinematic type music. I feel like this is what you hear while the credits are rolling at the end of a life changing movie. I liked it 8/10
Normally, this isn’t my type of jam, but the guitar, along with her singing was just too harmonious to ignore and I ended up really liking it. 8/10
Not going to lie. I loved this album! Kate Bush has such a creative and interesting style to her music. Will be listening to this one again. 9/10
Pretty fun various songs. 7/10
Along the same lines as bjork in terms of melodies. Some songs were better than others but overall I enjoyed it. 7/10
8/10 lots of bangers on here
What an absolute masterpiece 10/10
Not my favorite rap album 6/10
Best REM album I’ve heard so far 8/10
The guy singing sounds like the grinch. Even though I didn’t really like this. I’ve got this strange feeling that my friend Tyler is loving this. 4/10
Robot rap. Not for me 3/10
Great beats and great singing. 7/10
Back in the day I thought Nas was fire. But I think I might have outgrown rap. 5/10
Bob is always jammin. 7/10
such a fun album. That transition between Holiday and Boulevard of Broken Dreams was so cool. 10/10
Absolutely majestic. the singing, the piano chef’s kiss 9/10
This group is just way too much for me 3/10
It’s a shame that such a troubled man can produce such a work of art. my favorite album on this whole platform so far 10/10
Couple of hits. The rest was meh 4/10
Not my favorite 70s band or album. Didn’t get much. 4/10
Quite chemically indeed. 7/10
Pretty good. Nothing special. 6/10
This is my favorite Marvin Gaye album. 9/10
Actually quite enjoyed it 8/10
Long songs, but decent songs. I enjoyed them. 7/10
Not sure who likes this music but I’m not included in that group. 3/10
