1001 Albums Summary

Impressions: Sounds like The Beatles’ “Rubber Soul” and “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band.” As you go along the tracks, it gets better and better. I think it’s much better than the aforementioned albums. They did great work on the 2018 remaster. For a concept album though, I hated the album cover, wish it were more artful rather than just putting the band’s photo in it. Impressions: By the second track, I knew that it is a perfect album. I loved every single track. Album art is iconic! Favorite tracks: Watch that Man, Aladdin Sane, Drive-In Saturday, Cracked Actor, Time, Jean Genie Rating: 5/5

Impressions: I have only listened to Nirvana and been sleeping on Pearl Jam. This is a genius debut album, nearly perfect, just gets repetitive towards the end. Favorite tracks: Even Flow, Alive, Black, Jeremy, Oceans, Garden Rating: 4/5

Impressions: My mom loves disco and 70s music in general but I always hated them, I guess she’s listening to the wrong artists and albums. I never thought I would enjoy this. The only problem is that it’s too short. Favorite Tracks: Run Charlie Run, Papa Was A Rollin’ Stone, Mother Nature, Do Your Thing Rating: 4/5

Impressions: Was never a fan of Elton John til this. I have only heard Candle in the Wind before and didn’t like it, which is okay because it’s not one of the best tracks in the album anyway. Favorite Tracks: Funeral for a Friend / Love Lies Bleeding, Bennie and the Jets, I’ve Seen that Movie Too, The Ballad of Danny Bailey, All the Girls Love Alice, Saturday Night’s Alright, Rating: 4/5

Impressions: I don’t know how to rate hip-hop albums, especially if it just samples other songs apart from the rapping. I loved most of the beats though but hated the annoying skits in between tracks, especially that last track Manifest/Outro, hurt my ears, a deal-breaker. Favorite Tracks: How Many Mics, The Beast, Fu-Gee-La, The Score Rating: 2/5

Impressions: Liked the punk rock/new wave fusion. Favorite Tracks: Uncontrollable Urge, Space Junk, Mongoloid, Gut Feeling, Shrivel-up Rating: 3/5

Impressions: My type of alternative rock that is heavy on the bass. Underrated album released in 2010, why haven't I heard of this before? Favorite tracks: Everlasting Light, Next Girl, She's Long Gone, Too Afraid to Love You, Chop and Change Rating: 4/5

Impressions: Average Led Zeppelin album. Led Zeppelin 1 to 4 are still king. Favorite tracks: Custard Pie, In My Time of Dying, Trampled Under Foot, Kashmir, In the Light, The Wanton Song Rating: 4/5

Impressions: Funk and hard rock can apparently sound good together. The lead vocalist’s voice is so hot! Favorite tracks: Cult of Personality, Open Letter (To a Landlord), Funny Vibe, What’s Your Favorite Color? Rating: 3/5

Impressions: Was an okay alternative album. Not groundbreaking enough to warrant a spot in the 1001 albums list. Favorite tracks: Under the Pressure, Suffering Rating: 1/5

Impressions: Opening track Sympathy for the Devil was a great opening, I wonder what happened to the other tracks which are just so blues-y. Near perfect album, if it weren’t for those. Impressions: Great punk album with lots of bass! Favorite tracks: Natural's Not In It, Not Great Men, At Home He's a Tourist Rating: 3/5

Impressions: For easy listening yet enjoyable. Genuinely enjoyed this. Favorite tracks: Sunshine Superman, Ferris Wheel, Bert’s Blues, Rating: 3/5

Impressions: It was an okay punk-new wave album at the beginning but as it progressed, I have grown fond of it. Favorite Tracks: Drowning Man, The Refugee, Red Light, Surrender Rating: 4/5

Impressions: Liked the jazz-y vibe but almost every track sounds the same which made it a bit dragging. Favorite Tracks: Tenth Avenue Freeze-Out, Meeting Across the River, Jungleland Rating: 3/5

Impressions: Not for me. But this album reminds of Scott Pilgrim vs. The World (2010) Favorite Tracks: None. This was hard to listen to. Rating: 1/5

Impressions: This is a banger. I liked Red Hot Chili Pepper’s sound but this album is a bit dragging. Favorite tracks: The Power of Equality, If You Have to Ask, Suck My Kiss, Give It Away, My Lovely Man, Sir Psycho Sexy Rating: 4/5
