Top tier Metallica album next to Master of Puppets. Easy 5/5. I would put this over Ride the Lightning in terms of the “thrash” level. I dont understand why RTL is ranked higher in that regard.

Arguably their best/most accessible record. Most unique sounding record in their discography. Pattons first with the band. His voice changed after this album and during Angel Dust…so it’s a 5/5 for me. My favorite band and the album that started it all for me.

4/5. The Smiths are quintessential college radio indie ‘rock’. I couldn’t escape their music past sophomore year of high school. Had bought the CD of their debut album and spun it in my car many times back before streaming became the norm. Alot of their stuff carries a similar style and sound throughout their discography; however, the Queen is Dead album is their most experimental outing Id say.
