I always want to love this album, but for some reason just can't outside a few songs. Prince is a guitar wizard and love watching his live performances, but it doesn't come out in his songs here. I understand how legendary this album is, but I think it may be a little too pop-y for me.

Officially deciding that I don't need to listen to a whole album if I'm bored and have heard enough to get a full vibe, maybe at least 3 songs. This album has a very specific spooky punk vibe that I don't know if I'm feeling on a Friday afternoon. But very unique and I bet the live show in the 80s would've been electric.

This album has a special place in my heart - one of my all time faves. One of the first songs I ever tried to record a cover of with all instruments and do all the mixing was "Is This It".
What I would give to have seen Jim Morrison live - that dude lived hard
Some of it was really cool. Liked a lot of the bass/drum grooves. But the talk singing got to me after a few songs. I know this band/album inspired a lot of rock and punk though.

Loved this. The distorted guitar paired with the soft but screamy vocals is a cool combo. Don't know why I haven't listened to more smashing pumpkins. Cherub Rock and Hummer were two of my faves - Today is also great.
Non-stop raw energy. Would give anything to go to a sex pistols concert in their prime. Top songs were Pretty Vacant and God Save the Queen.
