Apr 24 2025

No idea that Respect was an Otis Redding song! Or (I can't get no) satisfaction! So many good oldies.

Appetite For Destruction by Guns N' Roses
Apr 25 2025

Three BANGERS surrounded by a lot of forgettable songs. Overall a little disappointing.

The ArchAndroid by Janelle Monáe
Apr 28 2025

May 02 2025

Good, laid-back 90's rock vibes, but no standout songs, overall a little "meh"

Electric Ladyland by Jimi Hendrix
May 05 2025

Love the production on this album - sometimes I feel like I'm in the room with them, sometimes super trippy use of the stereo space. First 5 star album of this list.

Frank by Amy Winehouse
May 06 2025

Great vocals, but overall not for me

Trafalgar by Bee Gees
May 07 2025

What the heck was that? Love the Bee Gees but this was rough - they should stick to disco. Some songs felt like a joke.

Out Of The Blue by Electric Light Orchestra
May 08 2025

Really good - not quite 5 stars though, some songs just kind of drift into the background.

KIWANUKA by Michael Kiwanuka
May 13 2025

Really cool album - started off a lot better than it finished. Liked the upbeat songs. What the heck genre is this?

The Offspring rips. The last 5 min of silence is a little odd though.

good kid, m.A.A.d city by Kendrick Lamar

Pretty solid - several recognizable songs that I didn't know were them.

Pet Sounds by The Beach Boys
Jun 13 2025

Such a game-changing album. Harmonies are incredible. Just a few slow areas to not make this a 5.

Master Of Puppets by Metallica

Put me into concussion protocol from all that head banging.

Brothers In Arms by Dire Straits
Jun 17 2025

Jun 23 2025

Not horrible but just couldn't make it through - too much just hyping up and not enough song

Astral Weeks by Van Morrison

Jun 27 2025

Eh. Perfectly fine. Just nothing really jumped out at me. Never will feel the need to listen again.

So good.. So close to a 5 but I'm just thinking of other albums I consider 5s and don't know if I can justify this one. Sorry Elton.

Innervisions by Stevie Wonder
Jul 14 2025

Could vibe out to this anytime.

Purple Rain by Prince
Jul 15 2025

I always want to love this album, but for some reason just can't outside a few songs. Prince is a guitar wizard and love watching his live performances, but it doesn't come out in his songs here. I understand how legendary this album is, but I think it may be a little too pop-y for me.

Talk Talk Talk by The Psychedelic Furs
Jul 16 2025

Cool punk album but wore on me after a while because all the songs sound the same.

Dire Straits by Dire Straits
Jul 29 2025

Ladies and gentleman we have another 5 star! How have I not listened to this full album before? One of the best guitar albums I've ever heard.

Strange Cargo III by William Orbit
Jul 30 2025

Some of the songs were cool - made me feel like I was in a bourne movie or something. But holy cow I can't listen to that much instrumental/electronic music. Falling asleep so quitting on the album.

Third/Sister Lovers by Big Star
Jul 31 2025

Some good music, singing was a little too weird for me, overall didn't love

Songs The Lord Taught Us by The Cramps
Aug 01 2025

Officially deciding that I don't need to listen to a whole album if I'm bored and have heard enough to get a full vibe, maybe at least 3 songs. This album has a very specific spooky punk vibe that I don't know if I'm feeling on a Friday afternoon. But very unique and I bet the live show in the 80s would've been electric.

At Newport 1960 by Muddy Waters

Super solid blues album. Love the old timey live blues sound.

Bookends by Simon & Garfunkel
Aug 05 2025

Mrs. Robinson is great.. the rest was a little sleepy for me.

Weird in the right ways but don't necessarily need to listen again

So much chaos, but kind of cool

Aug 13 2025

Just a little too odd for me

Green by R.E.M.
Aug 15 2025

Such a cool band. Need to listen to them more.

Is This It by The Strokes
Aug 18 2025

This album has a special place in my heart - one of my all time faves. One of the first songs I ever tried to record a cover of with all instruments and do all the mixing was "Is This It".

L.A. Woman by The Doors
Aug 19 2025

What I would give to have seen Jim Morrison live - that dude lived hard

Closer by Joy Division
Aug 20 2025

Some of it was really cool. Liked a lot of the bass/drum grooves. But the talk singing got to me after a few songs. I know this band/album inspired a lot of rock and punk though.

The Score by Fugees

Pretty dynamic album - killing me softly is great. Enjoyed it overall even though I'm not usually a hip hop fan.

Enjoyed and has a couple classics but don't know if this is 4 territory for me

Live At The Regal by B.B. King
Sep 08 2025

Awesome blues album - feel like I could throw this on anytime

So by Peter Gabriel
Sep 09 2025

Cool to hear the sax intro on Sledgehammer that Mark Rivera wrote (I KNOW HIM). Otherwise, I don't know if I'm the biggest Peter Gabriel fan.

Horses by Patti Smith
Sep 10 2025

Seems like this was probably a significant album, but don't know that I need to listen again necessarily.

Marcus Garvey by Burning Spear
Sep 12 2025

Cool sound but the first 4 songs sounded very similar so I quit on it

Thriller by Michael Jackson
Sep 15 2025

Thriller to Beat It to Billie Jean is insane. Also the Beat it guitar riff and Billie Jean bass line are absurdly iconic.

Sep 16 2025

Pretty good background music - probably won't listen again though

Gris Gris by Dr. John
Sep 17 2025

Just odd.

Talking Timbuktu by Ali Farka Touré

Sep 29 2025

Not sure I get the Talking Heads - liked it enough though

Hot Buttered Soul by Isaac Hayes
Sep 30 2025

Super cool vibes, especially in the background while working. Some of it felt like a movie soundtrack.

american dream by LCD Soundsystem
Oct 01 2025

Not feeling it - cool sounds but didn't hold my interest

Peggy Suicide by Julian Cope
Oct 02 2025

Perfectly fine - some fun listens, nothing spectacular

Oct 21 2025

Pretty good - just feel like a poser listening to dr Dre lol

Oct 22 2025

4 might be crazy here comparing to other albums on this list, but I really enjoyed this. Also "the mother we share" really throws me back to the early days of Spotify - one of the first songs I found through Discover Weekly.

Oct 24 2025

Really great - just a few slow points that drop it to a 4, but close to a 5

Odelay by Beck
Oct 27 2025

Between a 3 & 4 here. Cool grungy dynamic album, with some dissonance and weird sounds thrown in at times. Don't feel a strong need to relisten so probably going with a 3.

Nov 20 2025

Pretty good - just kind of sunk into the background for me.

Really funky jazz thing going on here - enjoying it, but putting me to sleep a bit at work. Hopefully remember to come back to this one.

Wasn't really for me - liked some parts of songs, some interesting riffs, some cool atmospheric sounds, but really don't need to listen again.

Siamese Dream by The Smashing Pumpkins
Jan 19 2026

Loved this. The distorted guitar paired with the soft but screamy vocals is a cool combo. Don't know why I haven't listened to more smashing pumpkins. Cherub Rock and Hummer were two of my faves - Today is also great.

Jan 21 2026

Fun, vibey album. Don't normally like these mostly instrumental electronic albums, but was headbopping through a lot - great while working. But couldn't quite make it the full hour. Need to listen to before I die? No

Very smooth relaxing album - kind of gave Christmas vibes. Liked it but didn't love it.
