Popular Reviews

Melodrama by Lorde

I like some sounds, but the poppy bits and indie accent pull me out.

Abbey Road by Beatles

Oh my god they’re actually good :(

Either Or by Elliott Smith

Man idk. Sometimes it sounds good and sometimes it really doesn’t. Not bad. Don’t know what to rate.

Dookie by Green Day

Uninteresting. Everything sounds so agreeable. Punk for middle school. Except for Basket Case, this did nothing for me.

Brothers by The Black Keys

Millennial burger spot music. Some songs aren’t bad tho! They know what they’re good at. Takes me back to when this was all over the radio. Didn’t age great, but I don’t hate it.

Feb 05 2026

Is murder so wrong? Yeah. But nonetheless appealing, at least symbolically. Sounds like he’s singing from his deathbed. Cried a few times listening.

Blonde On Blonde by Bob Dylan
Feb 06 2026

A few great songs but as many i do not care for. He has the voice of a work on a string, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing.

C'est Chic by CHIC
Feb 09 2026

Happy Man is awesome. Great guitar. Still not a fan of ballads.

Young Americans by David Bowie
Feb 10 2026

Interesting sounds. Not amazed. But not bad.

All Directions by The Temptations
Feb 11 2026

Mostly good. Very cool. Rolling Stone drags a bit, Do Your Thing and Funky Music are great.

Feb 12 2026

Love Sidewinder but I just couldn’t connect with this one. It’s boring to me. The “pain” feels fake. Maybe I’lll like it more in a couple years.

Colour By Numbers by Culture Club
Feb 13 2026

It’s alright. The extra soulful parts just sound phony. That said, I love Karma Chameleon and Mister Man. It’s a Miracle is also very listenable. Looking forward to George Michael. I have a feeling he does this sound better.

Hot Rats by Frank Zappa
Feb 16 2026

Great album. Son of Mr Green Genes and It Must Be A Camel favorites. Peaches in Regalia kinda sounds like video game music. All songs good. I would like this album more if there were more songs!! Willie The Pimp gets stuck in my head way too easily, but not as often as i’d like.

Be by Common
Feb 17 2026

Amazing. Like someone is handing you memories.

Here Are the Sonics by The Sonics
Feb 18 2026

Pretty cool. That’s it though. Just cool. Strychnine is awesome though.

Feb 19 2026

Clean, detached, kinda boring. 2 songs are sorta interesting but overall i’m not very impressed.

Exile On Main Street by The Rolling Stones
Feb 20 2026

This british band makes me feel american. Very good. I love the horns

The Stone Roses by The Stone Roses
Feb 23 2026

Love Adore Me. Some beautiful sounds on here, but not impressed by too many songs.

Out Of The Blue by Electric Light Orchestra
Feb 24 2026

Pretty good. I like plenty of the songs, but I still prefer Time. Need to listen to this again later.

Superunknown by Soundgarden
Feb 25 2026

Already familiar! I rediscover this album about once every year and it becomes the only thing I can listen to for a few days. Amazing album.

Heroes to Zeros by The Beta Band
Feb 27 2026

Okay. I really like Wonderful. Some interesting stuff but a lot also not so interesting. Almost Ween-like in some songs like Liquid Bird. Not a bad album, just feel like I’ve heard most of it before (even though I haven’t).

Songs In The Key Of Life by Stevie Wonder
Mar 02 2026

Beautiful album. Can really hear how influential it is. Most of these albums could probably be described as “ahead of their time” and this one absolutely is. Another Planet rules.

Come Away With Me by Norah Jones
Mar 03 2026

Unimpressive. Way too vocal-focused for me-can’t appreciate the music at all. I was bored and a little irritated trying to listen to this. She’s not untalented, I just can’t find anything that grabs me in this album.

Music by Madonna
Mar 04 2026

Pretty good. I was surprised with how unique this sounded. Don’t like every song, but most have something interesting about them. Paradise almost sounds like a Damaged Bug song.

Scott 2 by Scott Walker
Mar 05 2026

Didn’t grab me. Black Sheep Boy is good, but his singing takes me out of most songs. Scott 3 is good and the avant garde 80s stuff sounds interesting, but this one doesn’t do it for me.

System Of A Down by System Of A Down
Mar 06 2026

All hits no misses. Nothing like it. These guys knew what they were doing from the start.

On The Beach by Neil Young
Mar 09 2026

Beautiful. Unsure how to rate this. Need a few months with it at least.

Dookie by Green Day
Mar 10 2026

Uninteresting. Everything sounds so agreeable. Punk for middle school. Except for Basket Case, this did nothing for me.

Konnichiwa by Skepta
Mar 11 2026

Not a fan. I feel bad for British rappers.

La Revancha Del Tango by Gotan Project
Mar 12 2026

Really not sure how this made the list. Extra star for the cricket call and response song. That was cool.

Grievous Angel by Gram Parsons
Mar 13 2026

Not super familiar with country music but this one was great. Brass Buttons stood out - poignant and so well done on every level. Will revisit. Not sure why but I hesitate to give a 5. This may change.

Fear Of Music by Talking Heads
Mar 16 2026

My least favorite Talking Heads album, although I haven’t heard anything after Speaking In Tongues. Still good, I love Paper, Memories Can’t Wait, Heaven, Drugs, and I wish Dancing for Money got fully produced.

Talking Heads 77 by Talking Heads
Mar 18 2026

Forgot how much I liked this one. I remember disliking it when I first heard it but now I like it more every time I listen to it. Book I Read, Pulled Up, New Feeling all great, and newly discovered I Want to Live on the deluxe version, which I love and somehow reminds me of Dinosaur Jr. 5 stars might be too high but i’m feeling it right now.

The Köln Concert by Keith Jarrett
Mar 19 2026

Did not do it for me. The piano itself sounds off to me in this. The music is nice sometimes, but most of the time feels pretty stock. It’s like royalty free background music.

Violator by Depeche Mode
Mar 20 2026

Pure album. Enjoy the Silence + Policy of Truth so fucking sick. Not so into Blue Dress and Clean, I almost always skip those, so I can’t give it 5/5.

Ellington at Newport by Duke Ellington
Mar 23 2026

Fun. The crowd getting crazy was a plus. Would have loved to be there when this was recorded.

Who's Next by The Who
Mar 24 2026

Liked this a lot. Maybe I am a boomer.

Phrenology by The Roots
Mar 25 2026

Loved this. Lots of different things going on. Will revisit. Something in the Way of Things is awesome.

Pelican West by Haircut 100
Mar 26 2026

I know this doesn’t make sense but this album is hyperpop to me. I enjoyed it. Not too familiar with the scene but I can hear XTC and Orange Juice in there. October is Orange and Marine Boy are favorites.

Mask by Bauhaus
Mar 27 2026

Loved this. Cool grooves and noises and lyrics. Hate the cover art though.

Superfly by Curtis Mayfield
Mar 30 2026

Fun. Not amazed but worth the listen. Freddie’s Dead is great.

Cosmo's Factory by Creedence Clearwater Revival
Mar 31 2026

Hell of an album. Lookin Out My Backdoor is one of the best songs ever. Only 4 bc some sounded just a little too basic, but otherwise very good.

Tracy Chapman by Tracy Chapman
Apr 01 2026

Not sure what I think of this yet. Great writing but I’m not into the music. Even so, it’s well done. Behind the Wall, Mountains of Things, and For my Lover were my favorites.

New York Dolls by New York Dolls
Apr 02 2026

Very impressed by this one. It’s right up my alley and I’m surprised I went so long without ever hearing it. Very good.

British Steel by Judas Priest
Apr 03 2026

It’s alright. Doesn’t make me feel any sort of way. Not bad, just not all that exciting or interesting. Breaking the Law is pretty fun though.

The College Dropout by Kanye West
Apr 06 2026

Pretty good. Family business is my favorite. Never listened to Kanye before and i’m fairly impressed. When the artist puts so much of themself into their art you really can’t separate it from the artist nor should you. It’s sad how he ended up. It tints all of his work knowing that the success he raps about will sour and he’d become a real life villain. Dude has serious fucking problems but I can’t deny he was talented.

Apr 07 2026

Least favorite Smiths album. Just not as original as the others. Still, I really like Stop Me and Unhappy Birthday.

Copper Blue by Sugar
Apr 08 2026

Really loses steam after Helpless. Great opening 3 song run though. Haven’t yet listened to Husker Du, very excited to.

Cloud Nine by The Temptations
Apr 09 2026

This one’s okay. I liked I Need Your Lovin and Runaway Child. All the songs about getting the girl back were kinda samey.

Machine Gun Etiquette by The Damned
Apr 10 2026

Really really good. 5 might be too high but i’m feeling it right now.

Hard Again by Muddy Waters
Apr 13 2026

Bit of a “Seinfeld isn’t funny” situation here where something so influential is seen as less impressive or interesting due to the extent of its influence making it seem paint by numbers. I know that this is great music but I just wasn’t into it. I respect it, but not very interested in another listen at least for now.

Thriller by Michael Jackson
Apr 14 2026

Goddamn

Olympia 64 by Jacques Brel
Apr 15 2026

Not so into it. I liked Amsterdam and I was familiar with Funeral Tango through Scott Walker’s cover, which I like a lot. The rest of the album doesn’t do anything for me.

One of the best ever opening songs to an album. I also really like Thom Yorke’s appearance. Some great songs and some boring ones, but the good ones outshine those.

Manassas by Stephen Stills
Apr 17 2026

Very impressed. Not much to say. This is new to me and i like it.

Fulfillingness' First Finale by Stevie Wonder
Apr 20 2026

This one didn’t hit. Song in the Key of Life was way better. I still like Smile Please, though.

The Band by The Band
Apr 21 2026

Well done, just not really for me. Up on Cripple Creek is great.

Led Zeppelin by Led Zeppelin
Apr 22 2026

Obviously great. But I really don’t like You Shook Me.

Faith by George Michael
Apr 23 2026

Good clean fun. I liked this a lot.

Apr 24 2026

Makes me want to listen to Echo and the Bunnymen. Not terrible. I probably would have thought it was great if I had heard it when it came out. But now it sounds to me like a Vonage commercial. I like With or Without You, one of the first songs I learned on the bass.

Either Or by Elliott Smith
Apr 27 2026

Man idk. Sometimes it sounds good and sometimes it really doesn’t. Not bad. Don’t know what to rate.

Murmur by R.E.M.
Apr 28 2026

Like 2nd half more than 1st. But all are at least interesting. Good album. Not the best REM, but up there.

Chirping Crickets by Buddy Holly & The Crickets
Apr 29 2026

1st listen: cheesy and fun, boy this guy likes love 2nd listen: kinda grating 3rd listen: cheesy and fun, boy this guy likes love

Permission to Land by The Darkness
Apr 30 2026

Skimmed through after the first song. I like that thing he does with his voice sometimes. That’s it.

It's Too Late to Stop Now by Van Morrison
May 06 2026

Skimmed this one. Not something I would listen to. Something hokey about it.

Bridge Over Troubled Water by Simon & Garfunkel
May 07 2026

I can’t rate 5 because Cecilia is giving me stomp-clap-hey flashbacks. Still an amazing album. The Boxer is my favorite and El Condor.

The Atomic Mr Basie by Count Basie & His Orchestra
May 08 2026

Nothing super crazy, but good. Lil Darlin was amazing.

1999 by Prince
May 11 2026

Great. Lots of fun and interesting moments. Something in the Water is so weird I love it.

Garbage by Garbage
May 12 2026

Pretty fun, not great but solid.

Only By The Night by Kings of Leon
May 14 2026

Sex on Fire is so good. Too bad about everything else.

New Boots And Panties by Ian Dury
May 15 2026

Strange but so good. Sort of scratches the Ween itch of great sounding music that doesn’t take itself so seriously. One of my favorite finds so far.

Parklife by Blur
May 18 2026

Really seems like a “you had to be there” album for me. Not bad, just not very interesting.

Juju by Siouxsie And The Banshees
May 19 2026

Used to play this one when I’d bike around my town in fall/winter.

Led Zeppelin III by Led Zeppelin
May 21 2026

An extra star just for Immigrant Song.

Mott by Mott The Hoople
May 22 2026

Skimmed. Not good.

Harvest by Neil Young
May 25 2026

2nd half is better than the 1st. Still great.

Shleep by Robert Wyatt
May 27 2026

Didn’t get it until September the 9th. Still some misses, but interesting.

Bluesbreakers by John Mayall & The Bluesbreakers
May 28 2026

I like Parchman Farm. The rest is forgettable.

The Score by Fugees
May 29 2026

Clean. Not so into the melodies but they work.

All Things Must Pass by George Harrison
Jun 01 2026

The jam at the end is lame. The rest is amazing.

She's So Unusual by Cyndi Lauper
Jun 02 2026

Even on the songs I don’t like so much there’s great sounding synths to enjoy.

The Infotainment Scan by The Fall
Jun 03 2026

This could have been so much better if he wasn’t doing the exact same mumble sing thing on every single track.

Sea Change by Beck
Jun 05 2026

Sadly this was pretty boring. Every song sounds the same, and not particularly good.

Heroes by David Bowie
Jun 08 2026

+1 for Heroes song. I cannot get this album out of my head.

Meat Is Murder by The Smiths
Jun 09 2026

I’ve heard this a million times already. One of the best ever. The actual song “Meat is Murder” I don’t care for so much, but I get it.

Tanto Tempo by Bebel Gilberto
Jun 10 2026

Sounds amazing. Great vibe. I think I need to hear more from the genre and era to actually judge it though.

The Age Of The Understatement by The Last Shadow Puppets
Jun 12 2026

Competent. Very samey. I like Standing Next to Me the most. Of it’s time, but not bad.

It's Blitz! by Yeah Yeah Yeahs
Jun 16 2026

Pretty meh. Not sure why it’s on this list.

Steve McQueen by Prefab Sprout
Jun 17 2026

Pretty boring stuff.

Odessa by Bee Gees
Jun 18 2026

Eh. Nothing to say. Too much.

Actually by Pet Shop Boys
Jun 19 2026

Not bad, but I can’t help but think about Depeche Mode doing all of this better years before. Still some great songs in It’s a Sin and I Want to Wake Up.

Brothers by The Black Keys
Jun 22 2026

Millennial burger spot music. Some songs aren’t bad tho! They know what they’re good at. Takes me back to when this was all over the radio. Didn’t age great, but I don’t hate it.

Led Zeppelin IV by Led Zeppelin
Jun 23 2026

1 star for Levee, 1 star for California, 2 stars for Stairway to Heaven, 1 star for everything else.

Surrealistic Pillow by Jefferson Airplane
Jun 24 2026

She should sing all these songs. Loses steam toward the end, but overall pretty good.

Autobahn by Kraftwerk
Jun 25 2026

I think I prefer Man Machine, but this is still amazing. Sounds so free and playful despite the obvious limits of early electronic production.

Hot Buttered Soul by Isaac Hayes
Jun 26 2026

Would be 5 but I really did not enjoy that last song. Amazing opener.

So by Peter Gabriel
Jun 29 2026

He does his thing well, but it isn’t for me. Red Rain was pretty sick though.

Kid A by Radiohead
Jun 30 2026

Just amazing. The song Kid A is one of my favorite pieces of music ever. Nothing sounds like that. It’s nostalgic and exotic at the same time. I usually skip the last three songs whenever I listen to this album. Idioteque is just such a high not for me that the next songs don’t quite fit, but they’re still pretty good for what they are.

The Rising by Bruce Springsteen
Jul 01 2026

Not very intetesting. Not awful.

Want One by Rufus Wainwright
Jul 03 2026

This guy wants to put my best friend Thom Yorke out of a job, but he sucks!

My Aim Is True by Elvis Costello
Jul 06 2026

Sounds like he’s scared of making something new. Same thing you’ve heard before repeated ad naseam.

Aqualung by Jethro Tull
Jul 07 2026

It needs more flute and I’m not kidding.

The Renaissance by Q-Tip
Jul 08 2026

Loved this. I wish the Can-Aspectacle sample in ManWomanBoogie was more prominent. That melody would have been so good to hear throughout the song.

Bossanova by Pixies
Jul 09 2026

No misses. There’s something to Pixies I can’t identify that makes what should be conventionally catchy cheese sound great. I feel weird giving a 5, but it could get there.

good kid, m.A.A.d city by Kendrick Lamar
Jul 13 2026

Sounds so good. Lyrics rarely stick out to me but this one’s full of great lines. Really like this one. Missing that last star bc of Backseat Freestlye, otherwise it’s perfect.

American Idiot by Green Day
Jul 14 2026

I don’t waste my time with Green Day.

Melodrama by Lorde
Jul 15 2026

I like some sounds, but the poppy bits and indie accent pull me out.

Imagine by John Lennon
Jul 20 2026
Boston by Boston
Jul 21 2026

I’ve never heard an album fall off harder. Two good songs then nothing.

Getz/Gilberto by Stan Getz
Jul 23 2026

Nice overall. I especially like the saxophone centered songs. Just nice though. Nothing outstanding, but that’s not really what they were going for.

Doggystyle by Snoop Dogg
Jul 24 2026

This was kinda bad? I thought this was a landmark in hip hop. Sure it’s unique and the singles are good, but as a whole it just wasn’t it.

Jul 28 2026

A little too long. I was expecting to be annoyed but it was actually pretty good.

Yank Crime by Drive Like Jehu
Jul 30 2026

So sick. More of this please.

Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots by The Flaming Lips
Jul 31 2026

There’s nothing I dislike about this album. It just doesn’t have the secret sauce that would bring it to a 5.

Abbey Road by Beatles
Aug 05 2026

Oh my god they’re actually good :(

You Want It Darker by Leonard Cohen
Aug 06 2026

Meh. Pretty samey. That first track is great though.
