Is murder so wrong? Yeah. But nonetheless appealing, at least symbolically. Sounds like he’s singing from his deathbed. Cried a few times listening.
A few great songs but as many i do not care for. He has the voice of a work on a string, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing.
Happy Man is awesome. Great guitar. Still not a fan of ballads.
Interesting sounds. Not amazed. But not bad.
Mostly good. Very cool. Rolling Stone drags a bit, Do Your Thing and Funky Music are great.
Love Sidewinder but I just couldn’t connect with this one. It’s boring to me. The “pain” feels fake. Maybe I’lll like it more in a couple years.
It’s alright. The extra soulful parts just sound phony. That said, I love Karma Chameleon and Mister Man. It’s a Miracle is also very listenable. Looking forward to George Michael. I have a feeling he does this sound better.
Great album. Son of Mr Green Genes and It Must Be A Camel favorites. Peaches in Regalia kinda sounds like video game music. All songs good. I would like this album more if there were more songs!! Willie The Pimp gets stuck in my head way too easily, but not as often as i’d like.
Amazing. Like someone is handing you memories.
Pretty cool. That’s it though. Just cool. Strychnine is awesome though.
Clean, detached, kinda boring. 2 songs are sorta interesting but overall i’m not very impressed.
This british band makes me feel american. Very good. I love the horns
Love Adore Me. Some beautiful sounds on here, but not impressed by too many songs.
Pretty good. I like plenty of the songs, but I still prefer Time. Need to listen to this again later.
Already familiar! I rediscover this album about once every year and it becomes the only thing I can listen to for a few days. Amazing album.
Okay. I really like Wonderful. Some interesting stuff but a lot also not so interesting. Almost Ween-like in some songs like Liquid Bird. Not a bad album, just feel like I’ve heard most of it before (even though I haven’t).
Beautiful album. Can really hear how influential it is. Most of these albums could probably be described as “ahead of their time” and this one absolutely is. Another Planet rules.
Unimpressive. Way too vocal-focused for me-can’t appreciate the music at all. I was bored and a little irritated trying to listen to this. She’s not untalented, I just can’t find anything that grabs me in this album.
Pretty good. I was surprised with how unique this sounded. Don’t like every song, but most have something interesting about them. Paradise almost sounds like a Damaged Bug song.
Didn’t grab me. Black Sheep Boy is good, but his singing takes me out of most songs. Scott 3 is good and the avant garde 80s stuff sounds interesting, but this one doesn’t do it for me.
All hits no misses. Nothing like it. These guys knew what they were doing from the start.
Beautiful. Unsure how to rate this. Need a few months with it at least.
Uninteresting. Everything sounds so agreeable. Punk for middle school. Except for Basket Case, this did nothing for me.
Not a fan. I feel bad for British rappers.
Really not sure how this made the list. Extra star for the cricket call and response song. That was cool.
Not super familiar with country music but this one was great. Brass Buttons stood out - poignant and so well done on every level. Will revisit. Not sure why but I hesitate to give a 5. This may change.
My least favorite Talking Heads album, although I haven’t heard anything after Speaking In Tongues. Still good, I love Paper, Memories Can’t Wait, Heaven, Drugs, and I wish Dancing for Money got fully produced.
Forgot how much I liked this one. I remember disliking it when I first heard it but now I like it more every time I listen to it. Book I Read, Pulled Up, New Feeling all great, and newly discovered I Want to Live on the deluxe version, which I love and somehow reminds me of Dinosaur Jr. 5 stars might be too high but i’m feeling it right now.
Did not do it for me. The piano itself sounds off to me in this. The music is nice sometimes, but most of the time feels pretty stock. It’s like royalty free background music.
Pure album. Enjoy the Silence + Policy of Truth so fucking sick. Not so into Blue Dress and Clean, I almost always skip those, so I can’t give it 5/5.
Fun. The crowd getting crazy was a plus. Would have loved to be there when this was recorded.
Liked this a lot. Maybe I am a boomer.
Loved this. Lots of different things going on. Will revisit. Something in the Way of Things is awesome.
I know this doesn’t make sense but this album is hyperpop to me. I enjoyed it. Not too familiar with the scene but I can hear XTC and Orange Juice in there. October is Orange and Marine Boy are favorites.
Loved this. Cool grooves and noises and lyrics. Hate the cover art though.
Fun. Not amazed but worth the listen. Freddie’s Dead is great.
Hell of an album. Lookin Out My Backdoor is one of the best songs ever. Only 4 bc some sounded just a little too basic, but otherwise very good.
Not sure what I think of this yet. Great writing but I’m not into the music. Even so, it’s well done. Behind the Wall, Mountains of Things, and For my Lover were my favorites.
Very impressed by this one. It’s right up my alley and I’m surprised I went so long without ever hearing it. Very good.
It’s alright. Doesn’t make me feel any sort of way. Not bad, just not all that exciting or interesting. Breaking the Law is pretty fun though.
Pretty good. Family business is my favorite. Never listened to Kanye before and i’m fairly impressed. When the artist puts so much of themself into their art you really can’t separate it from the artist nor should you. It’s sad how he ended up. It tints all of his work knowing that the success he raps about will sour and he’d become a real life villain. Dude has serious fucking problems but I can’t deny he was talented.
Least favorite Smiths album. Just not as original as the others. Still, I really like Stop Me and Unhappy Birthday.
Really loses steam after Helpless. Great opening 3 song run though. Haven’t yet listened to Husker Du, very excited to.
This one’s okay. I liked I Need Your Lovin and Runaway Child. All the songs about getting the girl back were kinda samey.
Really really good. 5 might be too high but i’m feeling it right now.
Bit of a “Seinfeld isn’t funny” situation here where something so influential is seen as less impressive or interesting due to the extent of its influence making it seem paint by numbers. I know that this is great music but I just wasn’t into it. I respect it, but not very interested in another listen at least for now.
Not so into it. I liked Amsterdam and I was familiar with Funeral Tango through Scott Walker’s cover, which I like a lot. The rest of the album doesn’t do anything for me.
One of the best ever opening songs to an album. I also really like Thom Yorke’s appearance. Some great songs and some boring ones, but the good ones outshine those.
Very impressed. Not much to say. This is new to me and i like it.
This one didn’t hit. Song in the Key of Life was way better. I still like Smile Please, though.
Well done, just not really for me. Up on Cripple Creek is great.
Obviously great. But I really don’t like You Shook Me.
Good clean fun. I liked this a lot.
Makes me want to listen to Echo and the Bunnymen. Not terrible. I probably would have thought it was great if I had heard it when it came out. But now it sounds to me like a Vonage commercial. I like With or Without You, one of the first songs I learned on the bass.
Man idk. Sometimes it sounds good and sometimes it really doesn’t. Not bad. Don’t know what to rate.
Like 2nd half more than 1st. But all are at least interesting. Good album. Not the best REM, but up there.
1st listen: cheesy and fun, boy this guy likes love
2nd listen: kinda grating
3rd listen: cheesy and fun, boy this guy likes love
Skimmed through after the first song. I like that thing he does with his voice sometimes. That’s it.
I need more time with this one.
Skimmed this one. Not something I would listen to. Something hokey about it.
I can’t rate 5 because Cecilia is giving me stomp-clap-hey flashbacks. Still an amazing album. The Boxer is my favorite and El Condor.
Nothing super crazy, but good. Lil Darlin was amazing.
Great. Lots of fun and interesting moments. Something in the Water is so weird I love it.
Pretty fun, not great but solid.
Sex on Fire is so good. Too bad about everything else.
Strange but so good. Sort of scratches the Ween itch of great sounding music that doesn’t take itself so seriously. One of my favorite finds so far.
Really seems like a “you had to be there” album for me. Not bad, just not very interesting.
Used to play this one when I’d bike around my town in fall/winter.
