This LP released when I was about 1.5 years old. I'm reflexively resistant to this album, not because I don't think it's good. I get the genius and innovation of it. And I don't think it sucks at all, obviously it's great. I grew up in the shadow of Boomer music so I kinda roll my eyes at Boomer classics, even though I enjoy a lot of them. 1st rendition I ever heard of Lucy In the Sky w/Diamonds was Elton John's, and that's the one I like. Also, I prefer Wings over the Beatles. Having said that, the tracks I like are Sgt. Pepper, w/A Little Help from My Friends, Getting Better, Fixing A Hole, Good Morning Good Morning, & A Day In the Life. My favorites are Good Morning & Fixing A Hole. I appreciate the innovation of the album.

Aladdin Sane by David Bowie
Jul 04 2026

The songs feel a little long but I know that was the norm at the time so no points off for that. The production is muddy, pretty sure that’s intentional. He’s heading in a southern blues rock direction on some of the tracks. Favorites: 2. YES. Aladdin Sane, kinda jazzy, a lazy tempo, fantastic instrumentation, piano solo, etc.; 4. Panic In Detroit YES! Structured kinda punk; 7. Prettiest Star I like this one, is it Music Hall? Not sure what it is but I like it. Almost Vaudevillian; . 9. Jean Genie. Yes. More blues rock influences. I love the instrumentation. Percussion in particular; sparse but noticeable. Awesome vocals.

Catch A Fire by Bob Marley & The Wailers

There are no songs on this album that I skip. It's definitely a vibe that you need to slow down for and surrender to, which is hard for me to do in this day and age. The songs take me somewhere and I appreciate that; I'm not thinking about the songs, I'm thinking about where they take me. Amazing.

Urban Hymns by The Verve
Jul 07 2026

Songs that hit me: BSS (of course), *Sonnet, The Drugs Don't Work, *Catching the Butterfly, *Weeping Willow, *Lucky Man, *One Day, *Come On. The best album of the 5 I've heard so far. Awesome songs across the entire album. A few I'll skip but they're not bad, they just kinda hinder the overall vibe i'm getting from the album.

Red Headed Stranger by Willie Nelson
Jul 08 2026

Musical sketches, stripped down. *Medley: Blue Rock Montana / Red Headed Stranger, *Blue Eyes Crying In the Rain, *Just As I Am, *Denver, *O'er the Waves, *Can I Sleep in Your Arms, *Remember Me (When the Candle Lights Are Gleaming), *Hands on the Wheel, Bandera.

Enjoyable if i'm in the right mood. I like their U.S. hits + Good Morning Judge and that's about it. They're good though.

Love this album, although never a huge fan of the Aerosmith collab. But It's Tricky, You Be Illin, & the rest rock. Love the whole thing.
