1001 Albums Summary

Really fun to listen to! I don’t really know much about music so I’m sure there was a lot more going on than I could follow. Good for listening to good for background music.

enjoyed the first 3 songs on the album but couldn't understand anything in the lyrics. the voice got grating after a while.

I liked the song turn Why does it always rain on me? Had a nice melody The end of slideshow when it gets really rocky is good too. Overall, the album felt like it was from a time. Can’t quite place it but late 90s maybe. Generally pretty good probably give it a three didn’t stand out as great.

The biggest surprise was how much I enjoyed the skits. Usually, I don’t really like skits on albums, but these were fun and musical. All the songs were fun and good, but didn’t stand out too much other than passing me by. I’ve also heard your mama before.

Running up that hill is a banger. The rest of the songs are fine, but they just don't hit like the first song.

Fun music, not the most unique but an interesting blend of classic music and broody 2000s. Hollywood Kids and te country vibe was good too.

first few songs are pretty good, but the album gets pretty repetitive after a few songs.

loved this album when i was younger, still a banger

pretty good, a good mix of punk and metal sounds with enough pop and catching stuff to keep it easy to listen to.

Really not my kind of music. A few of the songs were nice, but most were borderline annoying

interesting album in time, you can hear the influence of earlier music and you can hear how this influenced later music.

very punk inspired, but a lot more melodic. Album is really long.

Would like to give this another deep listen. I liked the album, but I felt I was missing a lot without the ability to listen carefully.

2 really good songs on this album that i knew previously, "pick up your feelings" and "on it". I like the ay the album tells it's sotry through short skits tat make specific points and then songs related to the feelings around those points and events.

Great sounds, sounded a little like early black keys but with a more rhythmic sound and it gets more varied as the album goes on

Long but good somngs

Very cool, gets pretty weird at the end. Can see how the sons has had a lot of influence on newer music like the white stripes, and similar alt musoc

Totally fine. Disappeared into the background completely while working.

Did not spark joy. Fine to work to, sounded too much like the velvet underground but not good enough and that made me dislike it.

Weird and interesting. Good for working to, but a little too weird to just listen.

Cheese, pure cheese.

I like this because it is very nostalgic from working in cars in college in the engineering shop. This and music like it is what we listened to

Album is undeniably cool, genre defining I’m sure. Generally liked it but not my typical style. Glad to get to know Issac Hayes music a little bit

Disappeared into the background, this is beige music

Exceptional, this is the kind of country music I can enjoy

Really enjoyed the lyrics, the flow, music.

At times it was really good, liked meat is murder the song. The early part of the album was kinda bland to me though

Generally not good. Stopped listening at forest fire

Excellent

Fine

This rocks way harder than I thought it would. Cherub rock, today, hummer, soma, mayonnaise, space boy. All great.

Classic album from childhood. Love it.

Very good! I can hear the punk and reminds me a bit of Arctic Monkeys.

Liked a lot. First 5 or so song and only 1 I didn’t like. Really soulful and full song writing. Deep message. Great album

Weird AF. Listened to it as a kid. Explains a lot.

The sound is a little dated to me, sounds of a time, but it still holds up and I like the vibe and message.

Has a nice gritty feel to it. It toes the line between white noise americana and something deeper. The end result is something that is mostly easy listening and the occasional bop.

The vibrato is a lot. But the music is beautiful and cinematic and theatrical. Surprisingly good.

Not the best for listening during work, but pretty good. One of the few rap rock combos that works

Almost gave us a three because it’s not that bad but it’s hard to appreciate this when you know there’s better Lana songs that sounds very similar. The sound and messages are similar to other albums by her, that are better

Started strong, got weird. Still ok

Some good songs, a nice sound. Does not stand out as great.

This album is great, very cool and love the frenetic energy and British Invasion alternative sound.

Started strong, but got repetitive. Liked the first 3 songs

*Deep sigh* has to be one of the best rap albums of all time. Really only one song I don’t like. Incredible sound.

Pleasant

Like the folk and blue mix.

Alternative rock Bowie is great.

Like the sound but it’s pretty repetitive. Good for working but not something I would just listen to. Groove is in the heart is the best song.

Could good tracks in the middle, but not consistently great.

Every song is good. Really love higher ground, living for the city, too high, golden lady, visions, don’t you worry bout a thing.

Artist profile describes him as a cosmic shaman. Nope, waste of time.

It’s fine but it’s not for me. Kinda listen in the background.

Solid early hip hop. Good political tilt

The hits are really good, the rest is fine. Hard to separate the art from the artist here. Listening to some of the lyrics are a little creepy.

Such a great, powerful and bluesy voice. Really nice to listen to.

Liked the hip hop and old school sound on the first few songs. The lyrics are kinda corny and not well written. But the sound is pretty good. The vocals showcase her talent, but it’s often a lot.

Really good if you don’t read the lyrics. The best and flow is solid, lyrics are a little corny.
