The man.

I feel like I’ve only ever listened to the first 30 seconds of “You Make Me Feel So Young” from various movies, so that was something. Sinatra can sing, and I can appreciate the horns as a former jazz band kid, but simply put it’s not my thing. A lot of songs blend together. I’m glad the crooner age has been left behind for Fallout games.

cant go wrong. i know he got pearl clutchers for makin whoopee

I'm such a f*g for this jazzy crooning. A lovely way to spend 45 mins. These songs aren't always the absolute best versions of the tracks, but they're always darn good.

Yeah that sure was a Frank Sinatra album. You start like “hey that’s great isn’t this this song from Elf?” And then halfway through you go “yeah I get it”.

Frank is hard to beat, he’s got such good wordplay sometimes (too marvelous) and his band complements his voice so well, all not new takes

Sounds good, doesn't hurt anyone. Perfect elevator music.

I liked this. I like Frank Sinatra although I prefer when he sings Christmas songs to regular songs, but that's just because I love Christmas music. I knew a few songs on this album: You Make Me Feel So Young, Pennies From Heaven, I've Got You Under My Skin, and Makin' Whoopee, although I didn't necessarily know his version of them. It was very easy to listen to and pretty short.

I think this might be my first Sinatra album and it took way too long

He has a great voice, but it does get a little bit samey. I think I'm just not into this genre enough for it to really move me. Interesting as a time capsule, not so much as something I'd want to listen to today

Definitely well made, and I expected to say "I liked it more than I thought I would!" but every time I had to pause for work and came back to it I was like ugh, how much more of this do I have to listen to. Sorry nana and papa, you can have him.

I think Robbie Williams ruined this genre for me with Swing when you are winning. I don't mind the odd track but an album was too much for me. You heard one you kind of heard them all. I give a two as the odd song is okay and Frank Sinatra is obviously a legend and I can see why he is included but its very dated and samey

While not by favorite Sinatra record, it's hard not to like

it's nice

Sinatra's performance is as promised: swingy and jazzy. I agree with another reviewer's opinion that while many of the songs sound the same it's a nice overall sound.

there's no denying that Frank Sinatra would be an artist featured on a list of 1001 albums that you have to hear before you die. I think that you gotta really consider which album of his should be represented on this list as a 5/5, perfect album. The big band songs and his incredible voice really are undeniable. This album was really upbeat, really invigorating and a true peek back through history. New York through and through, it's a well put together album. I mean it’s the brass it’s the voice it’s the charisma it’s the swag it’s just…it is what it is. Big Band.

Bra låtar i ett högre tempo än In The Wee Small Hours.

It’s that classic Sinatra sound where you really can’t go wrong with it, but it’s also not something that wows me. Overall decent album

Great background music

4 stars for Frank, 3 for the songs. Preferred his album "In the wee small hours of the morning".

Is this about polyamory? I'd like to think so.

Have never listened to a Frank album in full! Thrilled to!

A great voice and sound. It somehow makes me feel nostalgic for a time I never lived.

I literally cannot get into jazz for the life of me. I don't mean to be a hater-- I'm sure that this is really good or whatever, but I can't help the feeling that the more I listen, the less depth there is to any of it. a snooze fest throughout sadly

Sinatra has an incredible voice, but this just feels like one 45 minute long song. Just not my thing.

Mysigt men lite långtråkigt

Svag fyra

Soft men också bjäring

You saucy little bugger Frank

Big Fronk can really sweng

I mean… it’s Frank.

Day 51 Frank's that guy. What more can I say? Fav track: We'll Be Together Again

Ol' Blue Eyes at his best

que bonito pe

As long as you remind yourself the era that it was made in, its a great album. Awesome instruments support a famously incredible voice, and that's about it.

Lol, kakšne dva tedna glede žanrov. No, tole vsaj vem, da bo prijetno za ušesa. Se mi zdi, da nobenega komada ne poznam od prej, razen enega, ampak v izvedbi Louis Prima ("Pennies from Heaven"), ki mi je ful ljuba, tko da me prou zanima Frankova verzija. (Slabša je. Čist drug vajb.) Ahh, nevermind, zgrešila sem "I've Got You Under My Skin".

A few years ago, I went to a charity dinner that was to benefit the local animal shelter. The entertainment for the event was a Frank Sinatra impersonator. Early on in the evening, he told the crowd, "If you have any requests, please let me know; I love singing these tunes by old Blue Eyes!" I suggested "You Make Me Feel So Young." A few others in attendance shouted out some suggestions, too. He literally only sang "Fly Me To The Moon" over and over and over again. I hate that song now. This album is great, though. The weather has finally turned and the smell of fall is in the air. Soon the leaves will turn and the sweaters will come out of the back of the classic. Perfect weather for listening to Frank. 5 stars.

Woeful! If you’re from Queens you might love this. Painful otherwise.

Frank Sinatra and Nelson Riddle! That's a winning combo.

Monotonous

Not for me

Frank Sinatra was the worst thing to happen to music.

His era may have passed, but it doesn’t make Sinatra any less magnificent. Ol’ Blue Eyes always earns 5*.

Sure, Sinatra's voice is gloriously silky, and I like a love song sometimes. But man, this got tiring after about 3 songs. I think I would have more patience for this big-band jazz standard stuff if I were still in choir class and had to sing this sort of thing, but I'm just never going to gravitate toward this style in my casual listening time. I got bored really quickly, considering the theme and the sound itself are nearly identical from song to song. Plus, the flashy finale formula just doesn't work for me at all (I think it's a little corny, to be honest). 2.5/5 rounded down Favorite tracks: Pennies From Heaven, I've Got You Under My Skin

Listened previously. Expectations: High - Verdict: Masterpiece - This is one of the best albums ever made. The vocals are just mindblowing from start to finish and the arrangements that go with them are wonderful. Every single track is strong and puts me in such a good mood. I can't pick out any real highlights because the standard is impossibly high throughout but I will say that the band on I've Got You Under My Skin is celebrated for a reason. Perfect album.

fenomenal

It's one of the hall of famer vocal performers, hard to pull away from the massive amount of influence he had on... well all of music maybe? probably too far but still big name. Everything here is the classic sound, tons of romantic songs with jazzy crooning, just laying in the sultry low tones makes for a good time. Its a time and place kind of album but when that time and place occur it's not getting beaten by much else.

another very different album. i enjoyed it tho

im sure separated the songs would be very good but as an album it was like listening to the same song for 45 minutes straight.

It's Sinatra

Not much on the variety scale but very little wrong with it.

Does everyone have an old person in their life with a Sinatra story or is that just an east coast thing?

The one song from elf

Cute i love it

Frank Sinatra is a revolutionary of music. This album feels like driving across the cromwell bridge on christmas eve. It feels like building a snowman at Heathcote park with my sister. It feels like skiing at Mt Hutt and sitting down, taking your ski boots off, and having hot chips and hot chocolate. It feels like dancing in an empty underground dive bar in the 60s on new years eve. God this was a beauty.

The voice is outstanding, the lyrics are fun ("Makin' whoopee' is especially hilarious today) and the relaxed lounge jazz vibe has a homeiness to it. Drum patterns are irritating, but can be ignored.

Look frank is amazing, his sense of timing and melody are incredible. It’s very white bread but a classic

Pure joy in song form! Only reason this isn't getting 5 is because it does get repetitive. But this is great.

nice vibe for background

Nothing particularly wrong with the album; just not my style of music

It feels strange to give this album a five compared to some others -- how do you compare this to Abbey Road, or The Lamb Lies Down? This is not a complicated album, although it is of course very musical and very thought-through. It's simple, big band swing. Very straightforward. But goddamn it, they do it so perfectly. This is a beautiful album that still sounds fresh and wonderful like 70 years later. That's absolutely ridiculous. The band sounds wonderful and Frank sounds lovely. For what it is, it's a perfect album. And what it is happens to be one of my favorite things. So there.

I'm not averse to a bit of swingin', so this was enjoyable enough. Sinatra's voice is full of character and there's a few of the old songbook classics here for him to make his own. Am I likely to return? It's doubtful... I do feel a little detached from this ratpack era. It all sounds good, the songs are well written but I just don't really connect with them... except the one that's in Elf 😉

This is maybe the most lively Sinatra album? From what I've heard at least. The band goes completely off in the background. Vocals are of course great and as always so full of charisma. Might be my fav record I've heard from him, even if it's not something I will be playing that much.

Theatrical, unique, love songs unmistakably Sinatra

love Sinatra, never a bad time for some of his music

Good album. Nice to listen to something I’ve never listened to fully before.

Nice swing to it. More lively than the really slow Sinatra sound but still not my usual thing.

All the songs kind of sound the same, but they also sound really good thanks to Frank Sinatra's outstanding voice and his band who are performing at their peak. Favorite Track: You Make Me Feel So Young

Listened to the full album but didn’t realize I was on track 6 before figuring out I’d heard them all the first time around. Everything sounds the same, but in this era, the songs were all about dancing—course you’d just want them to just keep swinging with your partner from one tune to the next. Sinatra’s voice is like another instrument in the band, not forced, not overtaking, just included. Around and around the floor you go, oh fox-trotting fiends of the post-war baby boom begetting generation!

A fine romance album, which isn't my cup of tea. Lots of smooth, slippery songs that blend into the next without much of interest to grip onto. If this is easy listening, I probably like harder stuff.

Sinatra's jazz is whimsical, grand, romantic, and just plain catchy (among many other things). It makes you want to dance and soar high above the clouds. I liked the other Sinatra album I received recently too ("In The Wee Small Hours"), so this is pretty perfect.

Sinatra obviously an unreal presence, but I can't bring myself to care about any of these songs.

Easy, but a bit boring.

I enjoy Sinatra and this album as pretty decent ….4 stars for old blue eyes

Third Sinatra album for me and another 2/5. I get the guy could sing, I get he was successful and well-liked, but my God every song sounds the fucking same.

Mysig swing

Taattua Sinatraa.

I mean, it's frank Sinatra. You know what you're gonna get, and still enjoy it
