Absolute banger
Classic for a reason, great tunes and voice.
Damn it's peak I love Frank's voice sooooo much
Can't beat a bit of Farank
Excellent. Franks subtle and always cool delivery to the fore, it demonstrates why he was so well regarded. The arrangements too are not mired by their density. There’s a. Lot going on but the songs still live.
The Man himself. Ol’ Blue Eyes does his thing better than anyone. It’s just smooth as hell, every track at the same caliber. There is no way to play this and not swagger with cool.
Ой клас обожаю пісні про любов до жінок!!! Класний альбом дуже прям теплі вайби,наче дивлюся фільм 2000х років прям приємно. Хороший інструментал добренько
One of his best
This is my favorite kind of music <3
How can ya not love frank
Just because it’s ‘olblue eyes
Muy weno, simplemente sinatra (no sinaka)
It's Frank. How can you not love Frank? I'm an old metalhead and I love Frank!
You make me feel so young comes on and I immediately tear up. What an absolute masterpiece. Can you imagine sipping on some whisky neat while this guy croons with a big band behind him? 4.7— loved listening to ol’ blue eyes
It’s so hard to understand how important Sinatra was now. It can easily sound dated and cheesy. And so much of it is received as part of the cultural landscape
Just so good
It was great to hear It, I downloaded all the tracks of the album!
Classic voice Classic songs Classic album
Classic stuff. A big influence on my grandfather.
You’re getting to be a rabbit, hippity hop I love you! You’re getting to be a rabbit with me.
Classic
Lovely
Boosh
70 year old album and it still hits.....I want to cook with this on
I was excited to see Frank Sinatra’s Songs for Swingin’ Lovers because I thought I had a vinyl copy of this. Turns out I have the sequel to it - a Swingin’ Affair. So naturally I had to listen to both today. Frank Sinatra’s music was a great pairing for the moodier weather and dinner.
Una joya espectacular
Frank Sinatra - Songs for Swinging Lovers Some might nowadays consider this album easy-listening but that would be doing it a huge disservice as it really deserves the label effortless-listening. Sinatra and Riddle absolutely at the top of their game from start to finish. Highlights - the big hitters of Under My Skin & You Make Me Feel So Young, of course. But also the optimistic melancholia of We'll Be Together Again, the amusing take on 'modernity' of Anything Goes and the killer last verse of Makin' Whoopee. Always had a soft spot though for the mystery of It Happened in Monterey, so that is my pick No weak tracks but I suppose I Thought About You if I have to go for one. Faultless 10/10
No lo conocía y me voló la cabeza
A GREAT collection!
I fucking loved this - I just felt relaxed listening to this
Simplemente el gran Frank Sinatra.
Masterpiece, very Influential for when I’m making jazz and swing songs
Love his voice, talking about the moon everytime 🌙🌙🌙
Classic, sweet, uplifting, nice slow morning kind of listen
Admittedly this entire genre carries a huge amount of nostalgic weight in my household. Rat Pack is our dinner-time prep go to and I'm very much looking forward to the day that my children put on some Frank Sinatra of their own volition. This particular album is filled with timeless classics sung in Frank's signature style. I love the dancing bassline combined with the punching brass section. Sure it lacks some of the emotional depth of Sinatra's later work but if you want cool, sophisticated, suave, then this it. Grab yourself a Martini. 5 stars.
love
Sucker for Sinatra
Frank at his best. Band is sharp and the recording engineer did a superb job.
Who doesn't love Ol' Blue Eyes?!
Can never say no to a run through of a Frank Sinatra album.
Hard to separate this from the Whole Frank Sinatra Thing, but somehow managed. For better or worse, he really is the absolute best of this whole genre - 5 stars for the music.
No notes. Truly a masterpiece, fantastic and beautiful and classic love songs by one of the best to ever grace a record.
Favorite album of all time
❤️
!!!
Makin' Whoopee, fun as hell, I need this in my wedding.Se me esta apagando la pc tons las escuche de corrido a lo ultimo pero todas m encantaron ABSOLUTE MUSIC.
I just like Sinatra. This type of music would probably be generally boring to me but he’s got a charm that completely carries it and makes it good
Classic.
There’s not much I enjoy more than old timey lover boy music. It can get a little same-y but I had a smile on my face the whole time. And I know a number of these are American standards but he sure does make them sound good. Maybe I’m irreparably Elf-pilled and brainwashed. For what it’s worth, this is my lowest 5 yet. Season: True Summer Nights Favorite Song: You Make Me Feel So Young
A classy for Sunday
Awesome, Sinatra is that singer always reminds for her voice, the lyrics in this albums are very romantic and simple to understand and music is just the music of Sinatra
My dad was a professional musician his whole life and he rated both Frank and Nelson Riddle as the best singer and arranger in the business. I take on board some of the other reviewers criticism that many of these songs sound similar. But that's the nature of this record - it's a compilation/showcase of the best songwriters and songs of the era arranged in a swing style. The style is the same. The songs are not. Anyway, I agree with my dad regarding Sinatra. The phrasing and syncopation; and the diction all perfect. The songs are stories and you can understand every word. My dad is 92 now and wants me to take him to the new Frank Sinatra musical in the West End this summer. I'll be happy to.
superhero songwriter
classy
During the mid and late ‘50s Frank Sinatra was banging out a couple of albums a year, most of them brilliant. Songs For Swingin’ Lovers! is one of the best. Sinatra’s fabulous voice and phrasing, and the richness of the material is a wonderful combination, but it’s hardly a solo effort. Nelson Riddle came up with some exceptional arrangements and older songs like “I've Got You Under My Skin” and “Pennies From Heaven” sound as fresh as daisies, and its credit to both him and Sinatra that these recordings sound like definitive versions. A couple of interesting things. This is the original cover, with Sinatra looking gormlessly away from the swingin’ lovers. It was replaced a year later with the more familiar sleeve, and Songs For Swingin’ Lovers! was the first UK’s no. 1 LP. 10/10
So many classics! Loved it!
Me gusta pero siento que podría ser el soundtrack de un asesino en serie de los años 60s
Classic voice, Classic Album. 9.25/10 Top song You Make Me Feel So Young
Banger album. Do a lot of the songs sound the same? Yes, but that’s okay because I like the sound. You can’t go wrong with Frank Sinatra. His voice is so soothing. This album is for lovers, for sure.
I love it! It is my first time listening to an album by Frank Sinatra. My favorite song in the album is "I Thought About You".
Great album! Very cozy, very classy, very wholesome romance that doesn't feel heteronormative or cheesy, I have no complaints! This is an album I'd have playing on a record for a quiet evening in. 5/5
Top notch cool
had a baller of a time with this. felt like i was in my 70s dancing in the kitchen then sipping tea on the porch. delightful
There’s just something about when someone is clearly the greatest of all time at something.
"I think I'm a jazz girl" -me to the hubs while listening to this album
Can’t help loving some Frank Sinatra
I'm sure the reviews for this album will be filled with people complaining that these aren't the original performances, or that there are better renditions of most of these songs. I agree on both points, but the fact remains that these are the performances that many people know best, even to this day.
The greatest interpreter of the Great American Songbook, swinging his graceful way through a splendid collection of Nelson Riddle arrangements, eyes twinkling as he spreads the joy
The perfect soundtrack to get fired to.
parece la banda sonora de blancanieves, menuda sensación calentita te deja aunque los lyrics son un tanto extraños (no sabía que frank sinatra cantaba sobre cocaína)
Classic Sinatra.
Smooth and Swingin. Can't beat Frank Sinatra for this stuff. Interesting contrast to his album of nightime songs, even with the warm album cover versus the cool blue. Highlights: Anything Goes, I've Got You Under My Skin From Musicboard (OG 1/13/26 [#17] Imported 2/26/26)
One of my grandparents favourite musician and one of the greatest ever. Amazing!
Sinatra put all of his hits and covers of hits on one album, and it's great.
me encanto, te transporta a una película sin dudas
hehehe that's my jam Someone knows me well :) Listening to this album makes me feel like I'm 70, slow dancing with my lover in the warm kitchen of our home, waiting for the roast to cook, and both still so in love after 40 years of marriage. And here I am, face to face with my very 21st-century computer, completing reports for clients I'll have forgotten about in 3 months.
Not exactly my cup of tea, but Frank’s voice is undeniably beautiful and a pleasure to listen to. The instrumentation is spot on as well. Even though mellow sounds aren’t usually my favorite, I have to admit the songs transported me to a place filled with love and hope. A strong and emotionally resonant record.
Maravilloso!
Really enjoyed this album. Effortless singing from Sinatra and talented musicians produced this top-notch album.
Great album. Favorite songs: You Brought A New Kind Of Love To Me, Old Devil Moon, Pennies From Heaven
Honestly, I was born in the wrong generation. Swing is so much my kinda music and nobody does jazz vocals better than Old Blue Eyes himself. Earnest lyrics with some of the biggest hits in the genre. It's undeniable this record belongs in this project.
It's a swingin' good time! I'll always be a huge Sinatra fan, and this has so many classic tunes one after another. Hard to imagine a world where I don't give this a 5, so I'll go ahead and do it.
Classic Sinatra
There's nothing I can say that hasn't already been said. Ole blue eyes knew what he was doing.
Sinatra + Nelson Riddle = magic.

Buen rollito... no suelo escuchar este tipo de música, relax, calma, agradable...
What's not to like? Incredible songs, magnificent arrangements, great production, and The Voice. Five stars, without any doubt.
I think Sinatra has one of the smoothest voices of all time. His ability to delay the rhythm of the melody without losing time or tempo is really impressive and is what makes every song feel so laid back. At this point in time, you don't go listening to Frank Sinatra because you want to be wowed by something you've never heard before. You know exactly what you're getting with you listen to or spin a Sinatra album, and you'll almost certainly enjoy it. He's one of the best to ever do it, and all of his albums are so incredibly consistent. This one might be one of his best, though. Favorite Song(s): You Make Me Feel So Young, I've Got You Under My Skin, We'll Be Together Again
18/20 Que dire L'album est excellent Il s'écoute en boucle avec grand plaisir tellement l'accompagnement musical est riche Une très belle découverte
Absolute perfection. Not a bad song on this LP. Wonderful wonderful wonderful. I could listen to this every single day of my life and never tire of the feelings this album invokes. Bravo !
Cozy, smooth play, it takes my spirit to new york on a winter day, inside some local bar, full with warm ppl, good drinks and cigarettes, lovely album.
I love the way this whole album makes me feel.
A fantastic album. I've got several Sinatra albums in my collection, but not this one. I'm familiar with almost all of the tracks, and several of them appear on other Sinatra albums I do own. It's an album you could listen to on repeat and not realise you're on the 4th our 5th rotation.
Again maybe due to exposure to these songs in class, but really enjoyed this album. Except maybe "making whoopee"
YUP
love sinatra
Old Blue Eyes sure could sing! And the jazzy arrangements by Nelson Riddle complement him perfectly. I added “I’ve Got You Under My Skin” to the playlist.
classic. OG. swooner. always great.
These days it sounds like an old movie sound track but I imagine in 56 these was top notch stuff with swing, jazz and a great band Watch out Frank, Elvis is coming and its all about to change
Sinatra at his best, timeless.
This is the music that defined an era, and it still sounds great today. Although some of the references are no longer relevant and some of the language seems strange to the modern listener, it's still excellently crafted music that speaks to universal emotions. Truly Frank Sinatra has stood the test of time thus far, and generations of listeners to come will enjoy his music. Favorite track: "You Make Me Feel So Young" starts the album off on the right foot, "I've Got You Under My Skin" is pretty good as well.
Just absolute PERFECTION
This album is pretty perfect. Also I don’t know Frank Sinatra was so old
Clasico, fantástico!
good so far. not all the way done listening. frank sinatra reminds me of christmas. so does etta james…?
I wasn't expecting to like this but I really enjoyed it.
It's SInatra, 'nough said.
love it very much
It’s clear why Frank is so revered- his voice is soothing and cinematic. I can imagine my grandparents dancing to his music.
Classic Frank, beautiful voice, swaying songs, everything you need for a moonlit supper with your sweetheart
Love Frank. 5 stars
This is an absolute classic. Highlight for me is Anything Goes. Fun fact, this was one if the two first albums I bought on vinyl (the second being 52nd Street). This is just a lovely, lovable album.
Queria tomar um martini com azeitona.
I wouldn't have thought it to be my cup of tea, but even for a 70-year-old album, it's still pretty fantastic.
If you don't already know these songs by heart, then this is an absolute must-listen. Sinatra is in top voice as he delivers the definitive versions of the most widely-known American Pop songs. Nelson Riddle's arrangements mesh perfectly with that voice and make the tunes unforgettable.
As good as recorded music has ever been. Amazing collection of songs, arranged brilliantly. All-stars at every instrument. Frank's mind-blowing technique and the perfection of that style that took over the world. And the recordings are so gorgeous - all of that WWII tube technology brought home and put to good use. Absolutely incredible to think they did it all in three tracks. (It's impossible to explain how mind blowing this is; there is virtually no mixing involved. The dynamics are almost entirely the product of each musician knowing precisely how loudly to play every passage. The trombone player who blew that famous solo on Under My Skin not only had to stand up, but he had to jump on a box and blow his lip out (literally) to play loudly enough to get over the brass' shout chorus.) Everything is recorded live and in single takes. Sure, things got a lot more interesting from and after about 1968. But I don't know that they ever got better.
Loved listening to this all the way through. No skips. From you make me feel so young to Pennie’s from heaven
Classic, dreamy, New York romance vibes from Sinatra. Knew a few off this album.
Really good Christmas, cozy, or I'm in love and everything is perfect vibes. I really liked it!
Swing your pants !
What an amazing album, such style, great songs, a perfect album.
Perfect Christmas album
This entire album is gold but I saved "You Make Me Feel So Young," "It Happened In Monterey," and "Love Is Here To Stay."
Perfection
Topp
Frank has done it again. Classy Baddie. It’s very relaxing. Would listen to again:)
Classic
Classical Frank, love it
Loved how horny this was xoxo
Nice. Reminds me of xmas and my grandma
It's Frank Sinatra man
This album reminded me why I don't listen to 50s music. It's because nothing compares to Sinatra. Everything is on point. The album is somewhat repetitive and I don't think that's an issue.
Classic voice singing classic songs.
I love some frank. Smooth. I love his voice. And been listening to more swingy jazz things.
really liked :)
Top notch
Just enjoyable
Very good album - made me swing
For me the Capitol years is peak Sinatra and this particular album is a fine example of why. He's well past the greasy kids stuff that he was in the 40s, and definitely not the Vegas schmaltz that he started becoming in the 60s, he sounds elegant refined and though his voice always sounds big and commanding it's not overbearing. Of the of the two Sinatra albums we've had so far, i think *In The Wee Small Hours* is a more finely curated selections of tunes, where this one relies heavily on standards at the time. But man, does he ever do it so cool and suave. But this is also got some of my favorite Sinatra recordings "Old Devil Moon" is probably in my top 10 Sinatra tracks ever, and "You Make Me Feel So Young" is probably not far behind that. And this also might be my favorite version of "Got You Under My Skin". All around a fantastic sounding project him with Nelson riddle is pretty much gold in this era. I honestly want to do a dive on just his Capitol albums at least and maybe then back up to the Columbia albums... then go as far in the reprise albums as I can stand. I'm actually kind of surprised that Frank Sinatra Sings Only The Lonely it's not on the list considering it's the first album to win the Grammys album of the year, but I think with the two albums selected for this list I think it shows the two sides of Sinatra really well during that period. There is one more Sinatra album on the list. It's a '60s jazz leaning album, which will be an interesting listen for me because I have really only heard his pop schmaltz from the era. 9.8 ★★★★½
Hard to beat a bit of Frank. In The Wee Small Hours is even more superb but this is still a smashing collection full of sterling, sophistomicated highs such as You Make Me Feel So Young, You’re Getting Into A Bad Habit With Me, I Got You Under My Skin plus other jollities such as Makin’ Whoopee. Another swing and a hit from the king of the swingers, the gangsta vip. 4.5 stars.
Hell yeah I fucking love this. So warm, that trumpet tone chefs kiss. Feels like Christmas music too. Vocals, of course, fucking on point. Jazz band on point. Music composition on point. We don’t write music like this anymore… Sooooo many incredible songs on this album. Not even just like, good songs but songs that have become household songs that I feel like everyone in at least North America knows or has heard. Definitely some very traditional gender role lyrics in here. Sucky, but unfortunately that was the time… “You’re only a maid, and I am only a man”, what.
Never really listened to Sinatra before and swing isn't my thing either but I actually enjoyed this album and I could imagine listening to it again
Two albums of love songs in a row. You’d think I’d be done with them after listening to all 69 on the so-titled Magnetic Fields album. But the love songs on this album are all classics, delivered in the best possible way by an excellent vocalist. The arrangements are stellar and timeless, all brass and strings — but tgey’ve aged well. This album can play on repeat at a cocktail party or serve as an enjoyable concentrated listening session on a desert island. A five.
I’m glad to see a Sinatra album on this list. I’ve listened to Sinatra my entire life, but never just sat down with one of his albums or collections. And this one does not disappoint! His smooth vocals and charm are timeless. The music resonates as much today as it ever did and should be in everyone’s list.
Classic
All such classics by the one and only Sinatra. The instrumentation, the arrangements, his delivery all perfection
I’ve loved this album for a very long time and was so happy to see it on this platform! 1000% recommend. It’s Frank and it’s classic!
Great collection of songs from one of the best known crooners.
This was a great Sinatra Album. Fun, jazzy, and swinin!
It's my first time listening to all of Frank Sinatra's album, and I realize now there is a good reason why he has been loved for decades.
Absolutely perfect!
++: You Make Me Feel So Young, It Happened in Monterey, You're Getting to Be a Habit with Me, You Brought a New Kind of Love to Me, Too Marvelous for Words, Old Devil Moon, Pennies from Heaven, Love Is Here to Stay, I've Got You Under My Skin, I Thought About You, Makin' Whoopee, Swingin' Down the Lane, Anything Goes, How About You? +: We'll Be Together Again 9,9/10
Ah, Frank. What can you say about Ol' Blue Eyes? It is Frankie's world and we get to live in it and enjoy his music. This album is a great example of why he earned the nicknames "King of Swing" and "The Sultan of Swing". Put it on your rotation, you won't regret it.
I’m sliding over the dance floor with my gal and this Sinatra classic is playing
Sinatra was the epitome of cool in the 50's and this album could be the soundtrack to that ethos of the time. The arrangements by Nelson Riddle were impeccable and the perfect foundation for Sinatra's great voice and phrasing. A classic!
Je connaissais un peu, première fois que j’écoutais un album entier. J’ai adoré, très comédia del Arte donc j’avais l’impression d’être dans un film tout le long
In 1955, Frank Sinatra poured his heartbreak over Ava Gardner into In the Wee Small Hours — an album so cohesive it’s often cited as the first true “concept album.” It’s a masterpiece, but a monochrome one: an extended sigh in blue, all midnight gloom and lonely cigarettes. A year later, he re-emerged — libido restored, swagger back — with Songs for Swingin’ Lovers!, and it’s like someone threw open the curtains. The joy in this record is infectious. Nelson Riddle’s arrangements shimmer with effortless grace, and Sinatra sounds untouchable, completely at home in this universe of winks, charm, and brass. Sinatra may not have had the prettiest voice in the technical sense — Stuart Staples of Tindersticks, say, has a richer baritone — but no one has ever phrased like Frank. His performance on “Old Devil Moon” is jaw-dropping: the way he bends and dances around the melody is as free and daring as Charlie Parker on sax. He doesn’t so much sing the songs as play them, using language the way a jazz soloist uses notes. Cole Porter’s sly wit is tailor-made for him — “Anything Goes” practically purrs — and even the ancient chestnut “Makin’ Whoopee” becomes deliciously risqué in his hands. (Ava Gardner, after all, once quipped that of Sinatra’s 119 pounds, nineteen were... well, censored.) It’s an album that radiates pleasure — sophisticated, a little naughty, endlessly listenable. Maybe it’s a touch too smooth to be perfect, but honestly, who cares? Songs for Swingin’ Lovers! is pure joy on vinyl — a tonic for melancholy, a reminder that charm, when done right, is its own kind of genius.
Jazz? Sure. Tell me you don't know how to categorize a legend without saying you don't know. And Frank is a legend, and this is a really great Sinatra album. No notes. Influence 5. Hits 5. Quality 5. Love it.
Classic! His voice is like butter! His music always reminds me of my grandparents.
Swell stuff
Wow, the hits on this album! I don't think I've ever listened to a Frank Sinatra album in it's entirety, but if there was just one, this is it, no skips here. I think he really does well with the swing/big band genre. I loved the Bossa Nova stuff from the previous album I heard, but swing is definitely his wheelhouse. I didn't realize this album had so many great songs, but it is on my playlists now.
Culturally impactful and unmistakeable vocals by Sinatra
Classic Sinatra. Great album.
Sinatra and his swoon-worthy, sexy voice is superb. So many great classics on this album.
By the mid-1950s, Frank Sinatra was back on top of both his game and the charts, bringing the lie to F, Scott Fitzgerald’s credo that “There are no second acts in American lives.” Regrouping with Nelson Riddle late in 1955, Sinatra mapped out a record with avery different flavor. What emerged from these sessions, held a month after Sinatra’s 40th birthday, was day following night. Next to In The Wee Small Hours’ scotch-soaked, 2 a.m. atmospherics, the euphoric Songs For Swingin’ Lovers! is a sunny summer afternoon walk in the park, positively skipping with joie de vivre. Sinatra never sounded more at ease, breezing giddily around “You Make Me Feel So Young,” delivering “How About You?” as though it is one long marriage proposal, and practically winking his way through “Makin’ Whoopee.” But it would all be wasted without Riddle’s glorious scoring. Legend has it that his unsurpassable arrangement for “I’ve Got You Under My Skin,” hurriedly completed the night before the session, was greeted with spontaneous applause by the musicians who played it on January 12, 1956. The resulting album is the closest any artist has come to defining the Great American Songbook. However, keen-eyed students of pop music may also notice the symmetry in the 15-cut, 45-minute track listing. Truly, the art of the three-minute pop song begins and ends here.
Man what a vibe. These are all bangers.
5 stahs
SO fun and Jazzy with a bunch of new songs I never heard by Frank
It's so nice to listen to a great singer with a great big band playing great arrangements singing about love.
Frank is the GOAT! Enough said!
Fantastic and heartfelt throughout. A wonderful expression of love in so many fun and iconic songs, absolutely something for anyone to enjoy. Some of Sinatra's best work, with great performances from him and his backing band
The work of Ol’ Blue Eyes is about as American as apple pie, baseball, hot dogs, and voting for fascists.
Heartstrings invariably tether with another’s in proximity to this classic crooner’s most classic croons.
It’s Frank, Chairman of the Board at his best
I love standards and I have performed many of these songs before. There are many misogynistic undertones but that maybe adds to its charm. this was certainly a moment in time.
Loved it and the big band sound
Excellent album!! Classic Sinatra. Smooth, clean and fresh. Could listen to this music for hours.
"Five Stars... songs from the great American songbook... done by Francis Albert... in 1956... "I've Got You Under My Skin", "You Make Me Feel So Young, and one of my all time faves, Jimmy Van Hueusen and Johnny Mercer's "I Thought About You"... you get the idea... the thing that amazes me, a singer myself, is the effortless way ol' blue eyes has an underlying vibrato all throughout his singing... high and low... and yet, it's so subtle, that you hardly notice it's going on... making him sound simultaneously like a trained artist, and an every man... amazing... like a bridge between Caruso and Dylan... not to mention his flawless phrasing... and the impact of the Nelson Riddle Orchestra... did i say Five stars already? yep..."
Brilliant songs—and definitive versions of them. Adult and sexy. Swoon.
Commuting to this soundtrack makes life a movie
#115/1001. There is only one Frank Sinatra. Which is great, since if there was more, there would be way too much crooning and swinging. I was wondering what will be the oldest LP on this list (I think it is another Sinatra record) and meanwhile searched for a bit of LP format history. Turns out a Sinatra album was among the first LPs released as a batch in 1948 - although that album had been issued as a set of four 78 rpm discs earlier. This one at the table here is as far as I understood a collection of existing popular songs handpicked for Sinatra, who in turn made the definite standard classic and eternal versions out of so many. Individually they all shine, but something about rhe instrumentation, the delivery and the general swinging mood just repeats itself. Which I guess is a blessing more than a curse.
This was a wonderful album. Filled with jazz favourites sung by one of the greatest jazz artists. I listened to it twice.
A lovely listen while sorting through holiday photos of the one you love most.
Great songs, era of the songwriter. Fantastic vibes
Five stars have never been this easy.
Frank at his very best. I played this vinyl for my grandad
I really liked it. Amazing arrangement and perfect vocal performance. A very good jazz/pop album. It was released in 1956, and in 2025 I can still appreciate it.
Better than I thought
Sinatra’s soaring smooth voice at its peak finding 1,000 ways to sing loves praises. Some of the best songs in his career are here, including “Under My Skin” and “You Make Me Feel So Young. The lyrics are clever and the accent horns are punchy. The only downside is there are no sad songs. To hear Sinatra sing about loss and loneliness completes the picture of what his voice can showcase
Call it full-on middle age manhood, but I've found I cannot resist these classic 50s crooner records. The songwriting, the arrangements, the voices, it's like butt-ah to quote my dear friend Linda Richman. This one feels particularly perfect. And even though I kind of know Sinatra was like not a good guy, and that stuff often does get in the way of enjoying an artist for me, doesn't seem to matter here.
Cooking in winter
Ol blue eyes knocks it out of the park with this LP. A great set of classic songs to dance to or snuggle with your honey with a drink on a Saturday evening. I really enjoyed listening to this one on a lazy Sunday morning.
Las Big Bandas, el jazz, el swing. Época dorada para que aparezca The Voice. Solo para conocedores de MÚSICA así con mayúscula. Tontos abstenerse.
I wanna cry, I wanna croon
Great experience
really good album.
Frank Sinatra anytime any place anyone would enjoy his voice and songs
I can see how this could be repetitive for some but it’s really just lovely all around. No complaints, Sinatras voice and style is timeless 9.5/10
Frank is great
Classic
I enjoyed this one. Frank Sinatra had a great voice and was a pleasure to listen to. 5/5
Love it! Has some GREAT songs on it, and Frank is always worth the listen. There are a couple of songs on here that show up on his 'Live at the Sands' album - which I believe is one of the best albums ever! So hearing them done again, in a slightly different way was a treat for me.
Excellent. Absolutely wonderful. Worst Song: Makin' Whoopee Best Song: You Make Me Feel So Young Added to Liked Songs: You Make Me Feel So Young, Old Devil Moon, Love Is Here To Stay, I've Got You Under My Skin, I Thought About You, Anything Goes
Classic Frank
Filled to the brim with Sinatra classics this is an absolute classic. Of course the composition and arrangement is simple compared to modern standards, but there is a timeless charm here that makes the album worth revisiting over and over
Classic Sinatra, loved it.
A classic of its time
Swingin at his best. All hands up for this album!
Have heard this before - love Sinatra so much
No one will ever come close to ol’Blue eyes.
Although I can’t lie that a lot of these songs sound similar, they’re all insanely good and the musical talent in not just Frank but also the band is incredible and for that I give the album 5/5
Outstanding in basically all aspects #MILFS (manilovefranksinatra)
Great songs
Always classic.
This is one of those laser-guided missile Sinatra albums, equal parts wide-eyed golly gee, you're just the greatest, and eye-roll droll. It's interesting (to me, anyway) that this CD release cover was changed to have a more flattering portrait of old Blue Eyes in the background from the original album. That's focus, baby. "Old Devil Moon" is one of my favorite Sinatra tunes, and "I've Got You Under my Skin" is perfect. "I Thought About You" is a stealth banger. Also, this album title gets an extra point for inspiring Renaldo and the Loaf's "Songs for Swinging Larvae", a record nerd joke that makes me laugh every time I think about it.
Um dos melhores álbuns do Sinatra. Pop vira jazz. QoA Adonis New.

Ooh I've been waiting for some Frank Sinatra! He has such a smooth voice, I could listen to him all day! His songs feel so carefree and instantly lift my mood I also love this era of music. The band sounds amazing, imagine hearing this live! Gives me goosebumps when the trombone kicks in This was my first time listening to this album in full. I will listen again! They don't make music like this anymore. Brilliant stuff 5 ⭐️
Great album. I've listened to a lot of the older singers thanks to inheriting records from my great aunt, but Sinatra always stands out at the top. Listening to this album this morning really helped, as I've been dealing with a lot of various things this week, and needed something on this level to help calm my brain down.
You know what Ol' Blue Eyes, I get it. Keep on swingin'.
Croon away Frankie boy.
What a good time. That is all.
I mean, what a voice. No one has done it better since and many have tried.
Noen absolutte klassikera, og ellers alt som gjør Sinatra til Sinatra. Akkurat sånn det skal være.
Now this is the good stuff! It would be easy to mistake this album for a best of compilation but it isn't. It's just an amazing album made by one of the masters of the genre at the height of his career. A major tonal shift from his previous album "In the wee small hours of the morning". While that album is probably his best artistically, it had a dark, melancholy introspective feel to it. This album almost seems like a return to the light for Frank. Upbeat, hopeful, even the slower tunes have a certain sense of light, ironic wistfulness. You could loop this in my home all day and I don't think I'd get tired of it.
Klassisk Sinatra da. Herlig. Helt nydelig kvalitet på alt. Tenk for en produksjon
A true classic. I kept thinking of the Elf movie with Will Ferrell because some of the soundtrack from it uses songs from this album. Good stuff.
4.5/5 Martini-Slick Melancholy Because nobody loses gracefully like Frank. He’ll sing about love like he’s holding a rose, but you know he’s already bleeding from the thorns.
Let me be Frank
IF you have to choose a 'best' Sinatra album, this one would serve you well. He's in perfect voice and Nelson Riddle is arranging. It gets no better than this, in any genre.
here's a secret: i'm a sucker for sinatra
Love
I love Frank Sinatra. Biggest entertainer of the last century by far. He did so much. This was one of his two best albums. The other being In the Wee Small Hours. Just perfection.
Fantastisch
I have loved this stunning album for years. The songs, mainly whimsical love songs, are classics. Sinatra's voice, languid yet agile, has never been better, some of his phrasing is mind-blowing. But, at least, equal billing should go to Nelson Riddle - the arrangements complement and augment Frank's singing. Vote and music are in perfect balance, the whole soundscape incredibly rewarding. There are so many great moments and no lows - the way Sinatra will take a repeated verse in a completely different way the second go-round; the way a muted trumpet solo will grow out of the horn section. Songs for Swingin' Lovers makes me smile every time I listen to it.
I loved this. If at any moment someone says, "Hey, let me put on an album," and this is what they play - I'd enjoy it. It's pleasant, it's easy listening, it feels casual, but also makes me want a cigarette and martini.
classy. great. can't believe I hadn't listened before.
Sinatra is in great form here with a spectacular selection of standards. Some of his best work.
i tried my best to go into this with an open mind, and not let my bias affect my rating, but i was unable to. i love this guy, i don't care anymore, this is so fire
I have already listened to a lot of Frank Sinatra, including this album. However, that doesn't stop Sinatra from being the jazz goat.
Classic.
Swingin' Sinatra is the best Sinatra.
Kids these days don't realize The Chairman released like 12 albums that were four to five stars in the span of 6 years. This was the 5th one.
I love frank
The man with perfect pitch - they didn't call him Chairman of the Board for nothing..a solid 5 for me, I'd give him a 6 if I could.
All-time great voice, classic sound, tight band, savvy songwriting... and weird cover art. Five stars in my book.
Pure class
This is an absolute belter, a master class in crooning!! This is the album that finally made me understand why people love Sinatra. No duff ones just a perfect selection of classic songs all sang to perfection. Don’t think he ever bettered this one.
When younger Franks very controlled style would have made me say yeah it’s ok, how wrong I was, this is timeless, this is a classic. actually just put this on randomly the other week and was blown away of how good this is. Nearly 70 yrs old, someone will always be listening to it, which has got to be a criteria for this list. 5 Star
I’ve listened to this a few times and loved it every time, but when I saw it was my album today I couldn’t help but scoff in some disappointment. How could an almost 70 year old album compare to some of the great rock albums I’ve had lately? Well, I forgot how good it is. What a tremendous record. Frank sounds incredible, several of the songs are timeless, and the backing music is so varied and textured and well performed. A triumph.
I could listen to Frank for days. The crooning and easy way that Frank glides over these delightful accompaniments is calming. It's a 5 for me for nostalgia and the feeling it evokes, but I wouldn't argue that it's diverse or pushing the envelope so I expect others will have it lower. Not everything needs to be groundbreaking though, and having a vocal giant like Sinatra sing a bevy of love songs is a match made in heaven. It's timeless and effortless. The greats are the greats for a reason.
This is the 63rd album I’m rating. I’ve always liked swing and electro swing. Frank Sinatra has some great songs too. Adding to my Playlist - You Make Me Feel So Young, It Happened in Monterey, You’re Going to be a Habit With Me, You Brought a New Kind of Love to Me, Too Marvelous for Words, Old Devil Moon, Love is Here to Stay, I’ve Got You Under My Skin, I Thought About You, We’ll Be Together Again, Makin’ Whoopee, Swingin’ Down the Lane, Anything Goes, and How About You?. Not Adding to my Playlist - Pennies from Heaven Pennies from Heaven - This is good but I like the Louis Prima version more. All in all I liked 14/15 songs. This was just a really nice chill romantic album. It wasn’t the most interesting but it was very pleasant.
this is frank zappas grandfather
frankly a very lovely album.
I have to be in a particular place to appreciate Sinatra, and since I don't drink anymore, I'm never in that place. But I actually enjoyed this. Even more than the Rundgren. 5
Sinatra's voice is simply unrivalled. This album gives you exactly what it promises - it's elegant, it's beautiful, it's heartwarming and it makes you swing.
Classic Sinatra
Great songs throughout. Great voice. Very relaxing. Stand out song - You make me feel so young
Great album! I think the Nelson Riddle arranged albums are his best.
Absolutely stellar
He was one of the best voices ever. If I give this less than 5 stars my dad will come back from the grave and whoop me.
L'americano bianco
Perfect!
Good. Makes me smile whenever I think about it, think that’s worth a five
Loved it - in fact I let Spotify play frank sinatra all day. You can’t not enjoy this music. I don’t care who you are.
Too smooth for my taste but a very good example of this lyrical big band swing jazz genre
Great album. Super easy to listen to. Upbeat vibes. His voice just reminds me a lot of Christmas. Very beautiful and timeless.
i already love sinatra, so it's gonna be hard for me to make this anything but a five star. I'll try though.
Love me some Sinatra
So rhymtic, romantic and Frank has an incredible voice. Love this album!!
No notes. Just perfect.
Awesome album
Love Frank
Absolutely fabulous, some nice covers too
A solid collection of swing tunes performed excellently by the legend Frank Sinatra. "You Make Me Feel So Young" and "I've Got You Under My Skin" were in my collection before I heard the rest of the album.
Frankly, my dear, it’s fantastic
Songs for Swingin’ Lovers "You know what the title of that book should be? Yes I Can if Frank Sinatra Says it's OK, because he calls all the shots for those guys" From the moment his voice kicks in on You Make Me Feel So Young to the final note of How About You this just sounds so great and so right; the songs, the arrangements, the production and the vocals all combine perfectly. Many of the same thoughts apply to this as they did to In The Wee Small Hours; the horns and strings, while substantial and weighty don’t pierce or overpower, and Frank’s control of tone, phrasing and enunciation is sublime, that clarity and precision combined with the elegant and sympathetic approach to the songs is just fantastic. Despite the more upbeat nature of the songs, it doesn’t go bombastic or over the top. It doesn’t have the same melancholy tone as In The Wee Small Hours, but it does share the same appreciation of nuance and subtlety, I think due to Nelson Riddle’s arrangements and Frank’s skill as a song interpreter. Also a lot of the playing, particularly the bass is superb, you can really hear the skill the musicians have I don’t know if these are the definitive versions of these songs, but the do feel like it, not only the big songs - You Make Me Feel So Young, Pennies From Heaven, I’ve Got You Under My Skin, Anything Goes - but the ones I know less well, It Happened In Monterey, You’re Getting to Be a Habit With Me, Old Devil Moon, I Thought About You, Swingin’ Down the Lane. It really is a great listen, an easy, swingin’ 5 🎺🎺🎺🎺🎺 Playlist submission: I’ve Got You Under My Skin
One of my favorite Sinatra Albums...good blend of upbeat numbers and ballads. A great album from a great period of music. 5 stars
Truly one of my favourite albums. Got the vinyl version back in the early 80's and know each and every track. I haven't listened to it for years so it was an absolute treat to be reminded of early years with my lover (now husband of 40 years!!)
Wow. What a beauty this album. His voice, the big band, the whole composition. Great.
Almost as good as Buble

This is warm and fuzzy, the album. The arrangements are golden, and Sinatra commands each song with such ease and grace. Listening to him sing is a wonderful experience not only because of how great his voice is, but also because the joy he found in singing comes through on every song. My favorites are Old Devil Moon, Pennies From Heaven, Love Is Here To Stay, his version of Anything Goes, and How About You?
Amazing voice - brillant music - a Milestone - Wow
*****Real music! Big band, easy listening, beautiful voice. Great album
What a voice.
This was wonderful. No notes, five stars.
This is good as crooning gets n he's not exactly reinventing popular music but the execution is damn near perfect
Love Frank
Timeless classic. Objectively good. Doesn't get much better.
I got hyped when this was revealed as my album of the day. I love Sinatra. His voice is classic, the band is always tight, and his ability to convey emotion is incredible, whether happy, sad, or inbetween. Loving it.
While personally I like Wee Small Hours more, this is the next best Sinatra album. Pure classic
gotta love Frank!
In theory, I should hate Sinatra. His music has been shoved in every mediocre trailer to make the audience excited, and his voice is now synonymous with Christmas in many households. Songs struggle to stand out, and they all have similar themes. However, every time I listen to his songs and tone it feels like a velvetised hot chocolate , and I really can't bring myself to hate it.
Genial.
I can only recommend listening to the sage advice of other reviewers here - don't worry too much about Sinatra. The music that accompanies him is what you need to be listening to.
I love this! ❤️ It's just magical. So pleased it came up, I played it all evening :)
i was never a huge sinatra guy, but i've listened to a decent amount of his albums recently and have started enjoying his music. i will say, i tend to like the more upbeat swingy stuff he does rather than the more downbeat ballads he is famous for, which is great for me here. no only is everything here for swingin' Lovers, it's for Swingin' lovers as well. and it does not disappoint. everything here is really great, the orchestration is iconic and his voice is terrific. there are a handful of songs on here i would call classics ('you make me feel so young' 'love is here to stay' 'i've got you under my skin' 'makin' whoopee') but even the album cuts are great and catchy. it's a classic for a reason!
