1001 Albums Summary

I liked a lot of the songs, but I really did not enjoy several of the instrumental songs. Brought back a lot of the 70's with this album. I would probably listen to it again, but would not be in my rotation

really did not like this album. As I start this, I think that a key point here is do I want to listen to this again and if so would I want this album in my collection. For both of these points, I would have to answer no. While I'm not averse to atonal type of music, I just really did not like this.

I was surprised that I liked this as much as I did. Certainly not a genre that I listened to very much. The only thing that brought my rating down was the singer. I found his voice grating and made it difficult to listen to. Overall the songs were largely bangers and I enjoyed listening. I would definitely listen again, hence the score of 3. Not sure I would want to have it in my collection hence not a higher rating than 3. My current rubric is want to listen to again is a 3, want it in my collection is a 4, on heavy rotation is a 5. Ratings of 1 and 2 are things that I probably would not listen to again.

A few good songs, a couple that didn't age well. While I enjoyed several of the songs, it also wasn't an album that I really liked all of the songs. So while there were some good bits there were enough meh bits that I definitely wouldn't want to own this nor have it on a regular play

I liked this album. I had never knowingly listened to Arctic Monkeys, I did hear several songs that I had heard before. Overall, I enjoyed the whole album, lots of energetic songs - which I like. Some songs much more than others. It was a good album and I would listen to it again but would not go out of my way to listen to it. So I don't think that I would want to own it, hence the 3 star rating

Again a three star rating. I liked it more than I thought I would. I do have to say that I loved the album cover. 16 year old me would have bought this for the album cover alone. It was an ok listen, a couple of songs that I liked, a few that I didn't like. Overall, it wasn't a bad listen but not anything that would put on the turntable again

I really liked this. It has a great feel for being a live concert. I liked the songs, most of them I had not heard before. I would definitely own this album and would probably play it regularly

I really liked this album. I had heard a few of these songs previously but did not know the artist. Not really the type of music that I normally listen to but I enjoyed the entire album. Maybe 1 or 2 duds (for me) but otherwise this is an album that I would listen to again

I had never heard of the x-ray spex, but after listening I realized that many years ago I had heard a couple of songs. It is very much the punk of the 90's that I do like. I really enjoyed this album, it had that fast paced beat that I enjoy along with some very nicely angry songs. I would definitely relisten and would probably own this record. The only thing that keeps it from being a 5 is the voice of the lead singer. I found it a bit grating about mid-way through the album. Still liked the songs etc but her voice made it difficult to listen to a lot.

I liked 2 of the songs on this album (golden years and tvc15), other than that I really did not like the overall album. admittedly there are only 6 tracks on the album. I went into this expecting to like most of this as I really liked the aforementioned songs. Overall, I would not listen to this album again, nor would I want to buy/own it. Giving it 2 stars as I liked 33% of the album

The first album that I rated a five star. There is not a bad song on this album, some are classics while others are just great songs. I do own this and listen to it regularly

surprising album. I went in to this one thinking that I would really not like it. I ended up liking this a lot. Possibly not an album that I would buy but I will certainly listen to this on a streaming service occasionally. My only negative with this album are the less than 1 minute tracks of noise(?). By and large I liked most of the regular songs though. I do have to comment on the "About the Artist" write up on Spotify. I will have to confess I have never heard of frank Ocean (I guess I live under a rock) but I was kind of surprised with the "Visionary artist...., celebrated and critically acclaimed" bit. I liked it, but perhaps not quite up to these standards

great album! I bought this when it came out many years ago and still regularly listen to it today. Not a bad song on the album and the cover art is pretty cool

wow, not sure what to say about this one. Just a bunch of cover songs (I think) by a lounge singer type of act. Again, a crazy description on Spotify about the artist. I felt that this was just elevator music and I had a hard time getting through the whole album. I would not listen to it again, there weren't even any songs I liked and I certainly would not buy the album

I wanted to like this album. I have heard lots of great things about daft punk but have never heard one of their songs. This album ran the gamut of I really liked the song to I can't wait until this song is done. I listened to this while cooking dinner and definitely found myself dancing while cutting up veggies. Then the next song came up and I could not wait until it was done. I would certainly listen to some songs again, but not the whole album and I certainly would not buy this album. It did make me interested in hearing some other songs by the group.

great album, I really like Ray Charles voice and the mellow songs. I had never heard this album or really any of Ray Charles songs/albums. A very nice change of pace from what I usually listen to. I would definitely listen to this again and would buy it

Neil Young is one of my favorite artists. I really did not like this album however. the songs sounded interesting but musically they just did not do anything for me. Wouldn't listen to it again and certainly would not buy it

in general I did not like this album. I would not willingly listen to it again but I would not rip it off of the turntable if someone else put it on. It is not a sound (voices/music) that I hate, I just did not find it interesting

I kind of liked this album. It has a lot of energy, it's angry but overall I really didn't care for it. Wouldn't listen to it again and certainly would not want it in my collection

I'm not a jazz listener and generally will not listen to any type of jazz. I was very surprised by this album. I genuinely enjoyed this album (with a few minutes here or there that I didn't like) and would listen to it again and probably even buy the album

I have never listened to this group before. This was great!. I really enjoyed this and found myself listening to this repeatedly after the first listen. I will certainly listen to this again, and would look for other music from this group

wow, this is really cool. I had never heard of this group before - sort of classical/ambient/chamber music. Very pleasant to listen to. I will listen again and probably buy this. Not a bad track on the album, my first 5 star rating

an interesting album. Not sure what sort of genre, kind of mellow folk rock. really have not listened to much like this. I think it is deserving of another listen to see if I really like it or it's just ok. Definitely unique. Like a couple of other albums on the list a rather grandiose "about the artist" writeup on Spotify - "Arguably one of the most acclaimed and loved bands of the time". Right now not something I would buy but worth another listen

wow, I realize that this group has a huge following but this type of music has never appealed to me. I kind of liked the Black Sabbath album (gave it 3?) but this is a very different vibe. I feel like there are a lot of groups like this and I just have no interest in listening

not sure I listened to the entire album as it was not available on Spotify. I listened on YouTube. It is just a spoken word/poem reading. Definitely impactful but not anything that I am going to listen to

I'm liking this more than I expected. As I expected it is that sort of goth but not entirely. Still not quite my cup of tea but I would certainly listen again, but maybe not look for it on Spotify and probably wouldn't purchase the album. Overall I like a lot of the songs but need to be in the right mood to listen to it

I really enjoyed this album a lot of really good song (first 2) as well as several others. Indian Sunset really has not aged well - not sure if it was ever good. I do own this already so it does rate highly, the couple of downers bring the score down to a 4

an ok album. it was a big hit and she is extremely popular. That said, I don't find it interesting and would not voluntarily listen to it again

I enjoyed this album. I had listened to it many years ago, I might even own it (need to check). At one point in time, I really liked van Morrison. Now, not as much but it still resonates with me. I probably won't listen to this a lot but this was a great getting reacquainted

This was a nice album. I have never listened to Willie Nelson before. This was an album of just covers (I think). Overall a very chill album, very mellow. I could see putting this on later in the day to relax while having a glass of wine. Not sure I would buy this album but I would listen to it again

This is described as trip-hop. Never heard of this group but I really enjoyed the album. Probably not enough to buy it, but enough to listen to it again

I had not heard this album since I bought it back in college. It has some great songs (candle in the wind, goodbye yellow brick road, benny and the jets), but being a double album there are some lesser songs. I can't say that there are all great songs on here. A number seem like filler to me. While they aren't bad they don't match the really good songs. I already own this, but I am not sure that I would buy it again. I am only giving it a 3 star rating. Perhaps a shorter album of the best songs might have earned a 4 star rating (or even a 5 star)

pretty weird stuff. Lounge singery stuff from a French guy. Some instrumental songs and some vocals. Common theme (from my wife) is that some of these might be ok if significantly shorter. Overall, hard to listen to and get through, just a 1 star rating

this is an album of the movie Elvis. Fun songs, makes me think this is the soundtrack to one of his movies of this era. Would not put it on again, but it might be fun to listen to. I would not buy this
