Guitar play is amazing. Didn’t realize one of the Allman brothers played with Clapton on this album. Great songs.

It was okay. Lyrics and songs did not really move me. Singer has a good voice. Certainly not what I consider alternative music.

I know folks either love or hate Johnson’s voice, but you have to love a guitarist named Angus who always wears shorts when performing. One of their best albums with many hits. The electric guitar is crisp and simple with great percussion.

Besides the horrible cover, the music is pretty mediocre. Songs don’t really so much nor have any great instrumentals.

She has a nice voice. Lyrics were a bit much and trashy. Most songs sound the same and very repetitive words in songs.

I forgot how many great songs are on this album. Gabriel’s voice and variety of songs come through strong. One of the great albums of all time.

Love The Beach Boys and their harmonies. The orchestra background was a nice touch. Sloop John B and Wouldn’t it Be Nice couple of my favorite songs of theirs.

PIL was much better in the 80’s/90’s. I think that I could pick up an electric, strum a few chords and sound as good as the guitar on this album. 70’s London post-punk is just not that great.

Voice is okay even with the growling/roaring, but lyrics are horrible and language is a bit much. Guitar is actually not bad.

I’m sure this was innovative punk sound for their time as you can see their influence on the US punk rock scene. They certainly have some strong opinions about the British government and society.

Very solid album with many classic Eagle songs and some new ones that I had not previously heard, but really liked. Frey and Henley do such a great job sharing vocals. Guitar is great throughout the album.

I wasn’t sure what to expect as I had not listened to this when it came out. It was blasted upon release. I don’t find near as offensive as portrayed back in the day. They had some good self reflection points related to the black community and were not afraid to call out some within their community, especially around fatherhood.

I liked the horns, percussion, and keyboard on this album. It was soothing to listen to while I ran.

Sounds are interesting and enjoyable. Major drawback is not being able to understand what he is singing about. It seems highly repetitive.

Yesterday, I wanted to know what the artist was saying in English, today I wish that I did not understand them. I thought it was hard to be on a level of bad like PIL, but they found it. Feel like it is all a show to them and they don’t know what they are really even against. I mean is Bodies a pro-life statement or what were they really trying to say.

Instrumentalist were very good. Very solid album, but still middle of the road.

Really liked this album a lot. The songs varied and Stevie’s voice is so good.

Singer has a good voice. I found the music and mix upbeat while not too repetitive. Good listening, despite not being really my style of music.

Music was nice background, especially where they played actual instruments rather than synthesized keyboard.

Well if you don’t like a song just wait for the length of a commercial and you get something new. They had some okay stuff, but just sounded like a lot of complaining mostly. I appreciate it was over in less than 20 minutes, probably kept their studio costs down.

Nice horns, piano, and voice. The last song story telling could have been just a little shorter.

Typical Talking Heads album, some songs really like and others just seem rather quirky. I have always liked the band overall and Byrne singing.

Decent sound, her voice is nice. Thankfully not as melancholy as some of their work, though couple of songs could have ended about three minutes sooner.

Percussion on this album was great. Echo is good, but this album is not their best.

This is the true start of rap right here. Their lyrics rhyme with ease, words are clever, relatable to all, not much language, and mixes are smooth and right on time.

Loved this disco throw back. The horns, guitar, and vocals were great.

Singer’s voice sounded like a 13 going through puberty and was very shaky at best. When they started singing about spider bites and flying insects, they lost me.

First couple of songs, I was like this is going to be decent, then it went full trash with language and topics. First album that I have had to quit listening.

Having not seen the movie, the music itself was good and Mayfield can sing with a soulful voice. I liked the upbeat songs about getting out of the drug lifestyle and bettering oneself.

Nice simple songs about relationships and religion. I thought Lou’s voice sounded decent on this album compared to his solo work.

I’ve always thought Ulrich was an amazing drummer, guitar is insane, and Hetfield has a solid voice. I really enjoyed this album with symphonic sounds. It slowed the music down some and you could understand the words well. I appreciate that though they thrash there is some substance to the songs about psychotic struggles, fear of death, and things under your bed. If only it would have been about 45 minutes shorter.

Obviously she has a great voice and the piano songs were very good, but can she sing about something else besides just love or not being in love.

Enjoyed this album, their sound varied and reminded me of several different bands. Nice guitar licks and good vocals.

She certainly has a nice voice and can flat out play a piano. However, she clearly has been wounded by religion along with a rough life it seems in general. Just a little more positivity would be welcomed.

The instruments and sound are good. Neil’s voice is okay but get’s on my nerves at times.

Some very classic Elvis songs on this album. Really enjoyed the Ray Charles cover.

I did not know that Roger was so engaging with the crowd. His voice sounded good back then live. I always knew Peter was good on guitar but he really goes off live. Moon is great on percussion and bass is solid as well. Despite 17 minutes of My Generation, this is a very good live album. Magic bus was a great send off.

I liked the piano play with the rock. Songs were okay, not sure I would choose to listen to this full album again though.

Typical 80’s pop. Obviously Take On Me is a great song. Rest of album was similar sounding.

Clearly he had a rough life and feels the need to hate so many people and things. He would say some positive things and then next sentence go back to hate and cussing.

After a few songs this all kind of sounds the same. I guess it would be good rave dance music but that seems about it. It was decent to run to as I didn’t have to think about the few words and little meaning. Crab picture was cool.

Interesting that their most famous and best song was last on the album. I am not a big fan of bands that only play synthesizers and no real instruments.

Not really my favorite as the songs just didn’t speak to me or feel that relatable. I would have given 2 1/2 if could.

Love some Johnny Marr guitar and Morrisey’s voice. Probably one of my favorite albums of theirs. There is something about the British story telling that the Smiths produce that is very melodic.

I have always like their sound instrument wise, but they sure are lyrically depressing. I guess the album is aptly named.

Could have done without the add on interview and song versions, however the main album section was very solid and relaxing music. Enjoyed the JT cover very much and had not heard it before. Definitely a very talented musical family.

Felt like NSYNC version 2.0. I didn’t like that boy band and same holds true for this album.

Had not really listened to much Beck except the songs played on the radio. His mixture of style, voice, and music is top shelf.

I enjoyed the bluesy songs and the three classics on this album. The Doors have their own sound that is for sure. Would have given this a 3.5 if I could.

No better than the last Cohen album, still makes no sense and he should learn to play more than three cords.

Why is this in the top 1001 songs. How do you call a replay of movie clips or tv clip a song. This was not enjoyable.

It is sad that they have a good anti-drug message in some songs, but then have such other trashy songs and language.

This was ho hum for me. I did not really enjoy the mixture of English and random other languages that happen to sound good in the song, but did not have an applicable meaning in English.

Outside of the overly sexualized songs I liked the throwback sound on the album. She has a great voice.

I liked the sound of this band. They had a almost late Beatles sound with an alternative edge.

Sade has a great and very distinctive voice. The sound and songs all seam very similar though. Clearly she has not had any even good relationships based on the sadness of the majority of her tunes.

It is decent background music, but it is no Miles Davis.

Despite not finding the full album anywhere, what I could find was pretty good. It sounded like the 60’s.

Costello has always had his own type of sound that is a nice mix of music styles. He has a way of telling stories in his songs as well.

I am going to be kind and round up to 3 from 2.5, since they had a couple of songs that I liked. Some of their songs just seemed to make no sense though.

This is a great rock album. John has great vocals with solid guitar and drums. Best album that we have had in a while.

I still don’t understand the need for the cussing and sexual overtones. They had some solid songs that did not include either, so they are very capable of it. I liked the jazz sound.

Well, the album was not available on Apple Music in the US, so could not listen to but one song that was found online. If an album is not available then how great can it really be. The one song that I heard was nice, so going with middle of the road rating.

You have to get past the sexism, as the guitar and drums are amazing. This is a solid album overall.

I appreciate that Cash took the time to go play for the prisoners at Folsom. Also he clearly picked the songs for his audience and even has a Shel Silverstein thrown in the mix. Cash could certainly play the audience even if it was in a prison.

Once again why? Why is this band and this album on this list? So many more better bands and albums than this dribble. I can’t understand half of their words and when I did wished that I had not.

I have always liked Farrell’s voice and Navarro can flat out play. They were ahead of their time so giving them a bump in ratings to a 4.

This sounds like music from an amusement park ride for a space adventure. I don’t see why this should be on the list. I think that I could have played this on the keyboard.

A couple of songs were good and made some sense. A lot of these songs just seem to be rambling about nothing. At least you could understand most of Bob’s words on this album.

This album is way too long for gangsta rap. Maybe 2Pac would not be dead and stuck in the lifestyle if he had laid off the weed that was in every other song. I have always thought Emmylou had a great voice. This is classic country and was a positive change from yesterday.

This was worse than their first one we listened to. The last song should have never been made. I see why the engineer on the song left to get coffee during the recording.

One of Cash’s best albums as it included his own songs and covers other greats. His aging voice comes through with amazing clarity and strength on this album. This album showcases how Cash reinvented his musical ability over time and evolved as he aged.

Started off strong and enjoyable, then her voice turned on me and I dropped to more of a it’s ok.

Quintessential 80’s hair band rock. If you can get past the strong sexual overtones then there are a couple of their big hits on this album. I’ve not been a huge DL fan, so it’s middle of the road for me.

I liked the flute and guitar, though some songs sounded very similar. There is nothing that blew me away on this album but it is nice background music.

When they sang the songs were good and enjoyable. The 15 minute jam session to end the album and 8 minute long songs were a bit much and could have been made a little shorter.

Not the Byrds that I had heard before. The country sound was definitely different for them. It was not bad and have certainly heard worse on this list.

Surprisingly better than the others we have heard from Cohen. Can’t decide if I like the soft spoken/singing on this album. It is a somber album from a man closing out his life and retrospective, which was nice to listen into.

Not even sure where to start on this one. First why is it on this list, it cannot be top 1,001. It was not bad, but Grant is all over the place and I can’t tell if it is satire or serious. It is middle of road as there have certainly been worse on this list.

So this album has a lot of nostalgia for me. Cosart and I listened to this on repeat driving from NC to Maine. Yes it is belittling to women though I think some is tongue in cheek. However, their rhymes are on time and clever. It is still a great album and was ahead of its time for hip hop.

There is something about these Australian hard rockers that I just like. I know the songs are pretty similar. Amazed at how much Johnson sounds like Scott did before his passing. I like a guitarist who wears shorts while playing.

I forgot how much I really love this album. I wore it out when I purchased the tape back in the day. I find the positive words and thoughts uplifting, especially compared to other hip hop during the day.

I just don’t like the growling vocals music genre. The one song where the lead singer actually sang was not that bad. This album is certainly dark, though we have had worse.

Listening to some of these songs now, you can almost hear the foretelling of what is to come for Cobain sadly. I still like the majority of the album as the drums and guitar are great.

Loved this album! The jazzy remakes of classics of Hank Williams and Everly Brothers were quite impressive. The instruments and backup vocals were also spot on.

I like the Pixies sound but could never just get full on the Pixie band wagon for some reason. This was a solid album but not great.

I think that I just have to be in a certain mood to listen to Metallica. I am impressed by their ability to play metal and slow when they want and sound good at both. They are beginning to grow on me and if this genre have become the one metal band that I enjoy.

Jay Z seems to hype himself via cussing like crazy and doesn’t seem to really say much of value. Didn’t think I would hear myself saying I long for Public Enemy compared to this.

I don’t like this genre nor the language. He can’t carry a tune when trying to actually sing.

I am not a huge Springsteen fan and this one did not really change my mind. I think he is better rock than suedo country. It was okay, but a lot of the songs sounded very similar with the same story lines.

Neil Young is just ok and preferred him more with CSNY. A couple of good songs on the album though, hence the upgrade to a 3.

I had not listened to a full Rush album before now. I really enjoyed it. The instruments were all spot on. Percussion was amazing.

This has always been one of my favorite Floyd albums despite some songs being long and the album only being five songs. It is solid in each song.

About half of the album is real good. The other half is ok. I like the guitar on this album. There first album is better.

Really enjoyed this album. The album varied in style and topics. One of his best albums.

Sounded about like an album recorded in someone’s apartment. I get she has some anger and depression issues, but a whole album of sounding angry and whining is not good.

Liked the live album and interaction with the crowd was solid. James is an entertainer and this being a live album helped that shine through.

Yes, it is early 90’s garage band music, but I have always enjoyed their sound. This album has a lot of their hits on it.

For a debut album and reading about how it was made, you can certainly tell there was a change half way through the album at Yellow. Second half of album was more enjoyable. Very solid album overall.

I forgot how many great songs existed on this album. 40 has always been one of my favorites from U2 and such a nice take on a psalm. Felt like this was the beginning on Edge coming into his own with the guitar.

I really liked this CCR album as well. It was not quite as good as Cosmo’s, but certainly a solid 4. I enjoy John’s vocals and the instruments are great.

One of my favorite live an unplugged albums of all time. A totally different side of Nirvana that showed off their abilities without the grunge loudness.

Still one of my all time favorite Beatles’ albums. From top to bottom it has variety of music type, instruments, and some classics by Harrison. They certainly went out on a high note.

I am going to round up to a 4. The guitar and keyboard were pretty impressive on this album. I find Jon Anderson’s voice a little much sometimes but it was ok on this album.

One of my favorite Floyd albums. This is one of the first albums that I recall someone using recorded sounds within the music. Floyd does it so well with nice tie ins to the song. This album reminds me of the only live show of theirs I got to see, which opened with Time. The stage was black with just Nick’s glowing drum sticks opening the song flying around in the air with clocks ticking in the background.

She has such a smooth and jazzy voice. Could have used maybe a little variety, but overall a great listen. Would listen to it again for sure.

This should be on no one’s list, much less this one. Horrible.

This album was decent, but kind of sad knowing the story after the album was made.

It started strong and I was like maybe the overall review was right. However the longer the album went it just became more middle of the road. I would give 3.5 if I could.

This is still my favorite U2 album of all time. This put them on the map of beat bands ever.
