Popular Reviews

Let It Bleed by The Rolling Stones

It's true, you can't always get what you want. Except when it's a timeless classic rock album, because Let It Bleed is exactly that.

I Should Coco by Supergrass

This is all right - nothing to write home about, honestly.

Definitely Maybe by Oasis
Apr 03 2026

Amazing album; "Live Forever" is one of my favorite Oasis songs

Bridge Over Troubled Water by Simon & Garfunkel
Apr 04 2026

A classic from Simon & Garfunkel; I used to listen to "Cecilia" all the time as a teenager, so Bridge Over Troubled Water brings back a lot of memories

Jagged Little Pill by Alanis Morissette
Apr 05 2026

Jagged Little Pill is one of my favorite albums of all time, and there isn't a single bad song to be found here

Rumours by Fleetwood Mac
Apr 06 2026

Rumours is another one of my all-time favorite albums with zero bad songs to be found

1999 by Prince
Apr 07 2026

Not Purple Rain, but still one of his best

Odessa by Bee Gees
Apr 08 2026

Decent, but I prefer their disco tunes

Play by Moby
Apr 11 2026

Better than expected

Electric by The Cult
Apr 12 2026

It was fine, but a bit too derivative imo

Highway 61 Revisited by Bob Dylan
Apr 13 2026

I’m more partial to The Freewheelin’ Bob Dylan, but Highway 61 Revisited is a great album in its own right

Tusk by Fleetwood Mac
Apr 14 2026

Is it Rumours or Fleetwood Mac's self-titled album? No, but Tusk is still a solid departure from those sounds.

Gorillaz by Gorillaz
Apr 16 2026

Needed more songs like Clint Eastwood, Rock the House, and 19-2000

Roots by Sepultura
Apr 17 2026

I wasn't feeling this album at first, but it started to grow on me after the first couple of songs.

The Stone Roses by The Stone Roses
Apr 18 2026

They're all right - I think I prefer the instrumentals over the vocals though. I can also hear Stone Roses's influence on bands that came after them, like Kaiser Chiefs (and maybe even Oasis).

Cloud Nine by The Temptations
Apr 20 2026

Groovy psychedelic soul

Blunderbuss by Jack White
Apr 21 2026

Sixteen Saltines

Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness by The Smashing Pumpkins
Apr 22 2026

My favorite Smashing Pumpkins album; Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness is the definition of nostalgia for my teenage years

Dance Mania by Tito Puente
Apr 23 2026

This isn't something I would have thought to listen to on my own, but I'm glad I did. I enjoyed it!

Suede by Suede
Apr 24 2026

Like the Cure, but just not as good. Doesn't give me the same hit of sadness and despair.

Garbage by Garbage
Apr 25 2026

This album has aged well. Shirley Manson is at her best here, and you can't deny that "Only Happy When It Rains" is a classic.

KIWANUKA by Michael Kiwanuka
Apr 26 2026

This is another album that I wouldn't have thought to listen to on my own, but I ended up loving it! It was the perfect rainy day album. I'm going to add it to my regular rotation.

Tubular Bells by Mike Oldfield
Apr 27 2026

I mean, it's good, but I'm not so sure it deserves a spot on this list.

Apr 28 2026

Celebrity Skin is way better, in my opinion. I know this is Hole's breakthrough album, but I'm not sure why this is the one they're known for; that being said, Dollparts is a decent song.

Rock Bottom by Robert Wyatt
Apr 29 2026

"Sea Song" was definitely inspired by "While My Guitar Gently Weeps." The entire album sounds like it was written during an acid trip, but in a way that makes it kind of charming. I hope Robert's hedgehog friend is okay after bursting the tyres all day.

Closer by Joy Division
May 01 2026

While I appreciate Joy Division and their musical impact (they've influenced some of my favorite artists, like Nine Inch Nails and Smashing Pumpkins), this album just wasn't hitting for me.

May 03 2026

George Michael is one of those rare cases where the artist's solo music is better than the music they created when they were part of a group (and I say this as someone who enjoys the occasional Wham! song). I'm a fan of this album.

Idlewild by Everything But The Girl
May 04 2026

A chill album, perfect for a Sunday, but not something I'd listen to regularly.

Songs From A Room by Leonard Cohen
May 06 2026

Another chill album, though I'll have to listen to more of his stuff to really understand the hype.

Le Tigre by Le Tigre
May 07 2026

They're angry about something, but I like it.

Led Zeppelin II by Led Zeppelin
May 08 2026

There are some great tunes on Led Zeppelin's sophomore album.

May 09 2026

I don't usually enjoy live albums, but this one possessed a kind of energy that's extremely difficult to capture. It was like I was at the Harlem Square Club hearing Sam Cooke sing in person, instead of listening to a recording of a live performance from 63 years ago.

Music for the Masses by Depeche Mode
May 10 2026

Dark, adventurous, and experimental, Music for the Masses is a defining electronic pop album, and I can see why it brought Depeche Mode so much success.

Let It Bleed by The Rolling Stones
May 11 2026

It's true, you can't always get what you want. Except when it's a timeless classic rock album, because Let It Bleed is exactly that.

Odelay by Beck
May 12 2026

Eh, it's okay.

Music From Big Pink by The Band
May 13 2026

"The Weight" is decent, but The Band doesn't really speak to me.

Like A Prayer by Madonna
May 14 2026

Really solid album, a bunch of bangers on this one

Hejira by Joni Mitchell
May 15 2026

Joni Mitchell is like Bob Dylan, except she can sing. That isn't an original take in the slightest, but it's true. And I say that as a Bob Dylan fan.

Either Or by Elliott Smith
May 16 2026

His music is fine, but it leans too much on the boring side for me.

Dire Straits by Dire Straits
May 17 2026

I like the guitar, and "Sultans of Swing" is a classic, but otherwise I wasn't a huge fan.

Casanova by The Divine Comedy
May 18 2026

I don't know what this is, but it isn't very good.

The Clash by The Clash
May 19 2026

I’m personally more of a London Calling fan, but this album is pretty good too.

Abbey Road by Beatles
May 20 2026

Perfect album, no notes.

Autobahn by Kraftwerk
May 21 2026

Wir fahr'n, fahr'n, fahr'n auf der Autobahn This song takes up more than half of the album's runtime, but that's okay, because it's the only track the album needed in the first place.

In It For The Money by Supergrass
May 22 2026

The album kicks off with grungier Hole vibes, but once it gets to "G-Song," it shifts to a sound that I can only describe as a mix of The Rolling Stones and a bunch of English rock bands from the early 2000's (though I suppose the latter were likely inspired by Supergrass).

Lost In The Dream by The War On Drugs
May 23 2026

Maybe it's just me, but all of the songs kinda sound the same.

California by American Music Club
May 24 2026

This album must be pretty obscure, because I had to find it on YouTube to be able to listen to it. I'm not sure what to make of it. It's okay, not really my cup of tea to be honest.

Vauxhall And I by Morrissey
May 25 2026

I initially expected this album to bore me, but surprisingly, it didn't. It was actually sort of pleasant to listen to as background music while I completed random tasks.

May 26 2026

I'm really not a Coldplay fan, but this is fine. The two most popular tracks ("The Scientist" and "Clocks") are the best songs on the album, but "In My Place" is up there too.

NEU! 75 by Neu!
May 27 2026

NEU 75! starts off so chill, and then all of a sudden, as soon as it gets to "Hero," it turns into a weird version of "White Wedding" by Bill Idol (yes, I'm aware that "White Wedding" was released after this album, but my point still stands).

Elephant by The White Stripes
May 30 2026

Probably The White Stripes's best album

May 31 2026

One of the most boring movie soundtracks I've ever heard

Electric Ladyland by Jimi Hendrix
Jun 02 2026

A much-needed breath of fresh air after Dwight Yoakam

The Modern Dance by Pere Ubu
Jun 04 2026

Starting your album off with screeching audio cutting out doesn't exactly make the best first impression.

At Folsom Prison by Johnny Cash
Jun 06 2026

I'm not big on country music, but Johnny Cash is all right.

Dust by Screaming Trees
Jun 07 2026

Sounds like a generic '90s alternative rock album

Tres Hombres by ZZ Top
Jun 08 2026

They all look the same and all of their songs sound the same too.

Court And Spark by Joni Mitchell
Jun 09 2026

I didn't expect another Joni Mitchell album so soon, but this one is pretty chill.

At Newport 1960 by Muddy Waters
Jun 10 2026

I’m getting a bit tired of the live albums to be honest, but this one was pretty good.

Headquarters by The Monkees
Jun 11 2026

Very '60s, but I liked it more than I thought I would!

Leftism by Leftfield
Jun 12 2026

Not something I'd typically listen to, but enjoyable nonetheless.

Amnesiac by Radiohead
Jun 13 2026

Incredibly boring

Jazz Samba by Stan Getz
Jun 14 2026

An excellent jazz album

This Year's Model by Elvis Costello & The Attractions
Jun 15 2026

Somehow, I've never heard Elvis Costello & The Attractions before today. I'm surprised by how much I enjoyed This Year's Model. "Pump It Up" has to be my favorite track.

Physical Graffiti by Led Zeppelin
Jun 16 2026

One of Led Zeppelin's best. I especially love the funk-inspired "Trampled Under Foot" and, of course, you can't go wrong with "Kashmir."

OK by Talvin Singh
Jun 18 2026

This isn't a genre I typically listen to, but I have to admit that this album was far better than "OK" to me.

I Should Coco by Supergrass
Jun 19 2026

This is all right - nothing to write home about, honestly.

Blue by Joni Mitchell
Jun 20 2026

My initial reaction was, "Joni Mitchell, *again*?" I'm glad I listened though, because now I understand Blue's hype. It's an incredible album. I can see myself listening to it again when I need to relax and unwind on a rainy day.

Loveless by My Bloody Valentine
Jun 21 2026

I had never heard of the shoegaze genre before listening to My Bloody Valentine. My immediate thought upon playing Loveless (once I managed to find it on YouTube) was, "Billy Corgan was definitely influenced by these guys." Smashing Pumpkins does it better, in my opinion, but Loveless is still a solid album in its own right.

Debut by Björk
Jun 22 2026

Certainly avant-garde and a bit weird, but not bad

Sea Change by Beck
Jun 23 2026

This isn't the most exciting album. It isn't bad, but I'm still not sure I understand the hype surrounding Beck.

Opus Dei by Laibach
Jun 24 2026

I wasn't prepared for another avant-garde artist almost immediately after Björk, but Laibach is very unique. They're almost certainly what I'd consider to be an acquired taste, but Opus Dei sounds like something I'd return to in the future and give another listen.

Fever To Tell by Yeah Yeah Yeahs
Jun 25 2026

For some reason, I never got into the Yeah Yeah Yeahs when they were at the height of their fame. I think I missed out though, because they're pretty good.

Kings Of The Wild Frontier by Adam & The Ants
Jun 26 2026

I don't have many notes for this one. It's fine, but it isn't particularly enjoyable or something I'd listen to again.

In Utero by Nirvana
Jun 27 2026

I've always loved Nirvana. While Nevermind has a slight edge over In Utero and Bleach (in my opinion), I still find myself returning to In Utero time and time again. "All Apologies" gets stuck in my head more often than I'd like to admit.

Jun 28 2026

You can never go wrong with Queen. Plus, A Night at the Opera has one of the best songs ever written on it (Bohemian Rhapsody), so that makes it even better in my book.

The Wall by Pink Floyd
Jul 01 2026

A true masterpiece and the perfect rock opera

Sheet Music by 10cc
Jul 02 2026

A lot better than I thought it would be - I was pleasantly surprised

3 + 3 by The Isley Brothers
Jul 03 2026

A solid soul album

Live! by Fela Kuti
Jul 05 2026

This is my first time listening to Fela Kuti and the Afrobeat genre, and I must say that I am thoroughly impressed.

A Girl Called Dusty by Dusty Springfield
Jul 06 2026

Not my kind of music, personally, but I can appreciate Dusty Springfield's lasting impact on music

Deja Vu by Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young
Jul 08 2026

Déjà Vu doesn't have my favorite Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young song (Ohio), but it's still a great album in its own right.

Skylarking by XTC
Jul 09 2026

This is fine, but it's ultimately not for me.

69 Love Songs by The Magnetic Fields
Jul 10 2026

Sadly, I'm not a fan. I stuck it out and listened to the entire two hours and fifty-two minutes, but it didn't change my mind. It isn't the worst thing I've ever listened to, but I can't say that I enjoyed it.

Surfer Rosa by Pixies
Jul 11 2026

Outside of "Where Is My Mind," the rest of Surfer Rosa gave me a headache. Very disappointing, because I thought I'd like it. Maybe I'll return to it later and see if it hits differently the second time.

Hotel California by Eagles
Jul 12 2026

I've always been indifferent about The Eagles, and listening to the entirety of Hotel California hasn't seemed to change that. I am a fan of the title track, but otherwise, this album is just "meh" for me.

Cheap Thrills by Big Brother & The Holding Company
Jul 13 2026

As a Janis Joplin fan, I have to say that Big Brother & The Holding Company is pretty good.

The Doors by The Doors
Jul 14 2026

When an album kicks off with a song like "Break On Through (To The Other Side)," you know you're in for a treat. The Doors's self-titled debut properly sets the stage for this iconic rock band.

Legalize It by Peter Tosh
Jul 15 2026

An ode to weed if I've ever heard one. Not bad though

Liege And Lief by Fairport Convention
Jul 16 2026

I had never heard anything by Fairport Convention before listening to Liege & Lief, but I really liked it. I can see why it's considered to be such an influential folk album.

Groovin' by The Young Rascals
Jul 17 2026

This isn't the worst thing I've ever heard, but it isn't for me.

Aja by Steely Dan
Jul 18 2026

I don't like yacht rock, and unfortunately, Aja wasn't able to change my mind.

Copper Blue by Sugar
Jul 19 2026

Copper Blue is a fairly generic '90s alternative rock album. I didn't hate it, but I can't say there's anything particularly noteworthy that sets Sugar's music apart from similar bands.

Jul 20 2026

Very cool and kinda trippy; I feel like this could have been the soundtrack to a video game or action movie in the '90s.

Rio by Duran Duran
Jul 21 2026

Duran Duran has a way of putting me in a good mood, and Rio is them at their best.

Dig Your Own Hole by The Chemical Brothers
Jul 22 2026

I'm liking their electronic beats.

Jul 23 2026

Not terrible, but kinda boring and makes me think of Coldplay

Nevermind by Nirvana
Jul 24 2026

One of my favorite albums; brings me straight back to being an angsty teen

Grace by Jeff Buckley
Jul 25 2026

Honestly, this was better than I expected

Chelsea Girl by Nico
Jul 26 2026

Chelsea Girl sounds like a less intense Amanda Palmer/Dresden Dolls, which I prefer for a multitude of reasons. I can see myself listening to Nico again in the future.

Crocodiles by Echo And The Bunnymen
Jul 27 2026

Echo & The Bunnymen is fairly generic '80s English rock, but Crocodiles is a fun listen regardless.

Head Hunters by Herbie Hancock
Jul 29 2026

I am thoroughly impressed by Head Hunters. This was one of the few cases where I've listened to a 1,0001 albums list selection for the first time and wished it was longer.

Ys by Joanna Newsom
Jul 30 2026

I don't know about this. I think Ys would take a few listens to grow on me. I don't hate it, but it kind of fades into the background.

Lady In Satin by Billie Holiday
Jul 31 2026

You can't go wrong with Billie Holiday. She's one of the defining voices in American music history, as well as the jazz genre.

Music in Exile by Songhoy Blues
Aug 01 2026

I wasn't familiar with the desert blues genre before listening to Songhoy Blues's Music in Exile, but I really enjoyed it.

Phaedra by Tangerine Dream
Aug 02 2026

While it was experimental and heavy on the synth, I can't deny that I vibed with Phaedra.

Illinois by Sufjan Stevens
Aug 03 2026

I remember listening to Illinois in college and particularly taking a liking to "Chicago." In that sense, it still holds up for me (but it's probably the nostalgia factor).

Electric Warrior by T. Rex
Aug 04 2026

I like "Bang a Gong (Get It On)," but the rest of Electric Warrior doesn't hit for me.

Dookie by Green Day
Aug 05 2026

My personal happy place, Dookie is the ultimate comfort album (for me); it brings back a multitude of emotions associated with the growing pains of my younger years.

Aug 06 2026

Chemtrails Over The Country Club is creative, but I find myself struggling to connect with Lana's music.

Wild Wood by Paul Weller
Aug 07 2026

Wild Wood sounds like it was recorded in the '70s, but not in a good way. For me, it falls flat.

Tidal by Fiona Apple
Aug 08 2026

I love Fiona Apple, and Tidal is a classic.

The Visitors by ABBA
Aug 09 2026

ABBA is just plain fun, and The Visitors doesn't disappoint.

The Only Ones by The Only Ones
Aug 13 2026

The lead singer is tone deaf and listening to The Only Ones was pure pain.
