The turning point in The Beatles discography, and I believe the introduction of the sitar and fuzzy bass. From the second track to the end you get a feel for the new direction the Beatles would head down until their end, and away from the poppy songs of the past, though some of that still remains. In My Life is an all time masterpiece of a song, 5/5 though more on the 4.5/5 lines.

Dylan’s first foray into electric and an absolute masterpiece. It’s alright, ma (I’m only bleeding) remains one of my favorite songs of all time.

Marvin’s sexual prowess on full display, a full half hour album dedicated to fucking, basically. The funk pops right off the page with this one, and Marvin’s vocal range is incredible. The backing band are on point for the entire album, and it’s a true joy. I wouldn’t say my favorite album of his, but a classic indeed.

Really poppy but super fun. Enjoyed it far more than I expected to, honestly. Not the type of music I have ever gotten into but it’s still worth a listen.

A genre defining masterpiece. A true evolution of wha music was capable of and the biggest pop artist of possibly all time displaying it. Quincy Jones cements his legacy here as well.

I did not expect banger after banger of classic rock god music to all be from the same album. This has to be one of the most impressive albums of the entire 1980s.

I don’t really like Aerosmith so I was annoyed when I saw this album come out. I still don’t like them, I find their sound to not be as original as their fans think, but Rats in the cellar and nobody’s fault are pretty good songs.

Interesting, always wanted to try to get into Tom Waits, but I just don’t love his voice.

One of my favorite albums of all time that came to me at a moment of incredible growth as a young lad. Radiohead will constantly remind me of the best friend I lost in 2006, and it will never change. This album was Radiohead’s reprieve from the “norm” and marked a new path for them going forward. Mine too. I miss you, Gerard.

One helluva debut album that basically epitomizes the sound of the 80s. The two big hits from here you’ve heard countless times, but Lauper’s vocal range takes over on the rest of the album.

The Beatles’ magnum opus, arguably. One of the best and most influential albums of all time. I’ve listened to the Beatles all my life but even I forgot just how damn good they are.

I love Sigur Ros, no idea what they’re talking about or what anyone’s name really is but they’re so good at the unique sound the produce.
