Album Summary
Justified is the debut solo studio album by American singer Justin Timberlake. It was released on November 5, 2002, by Jive Records. The album was written and recorded in a six-week period as Timberlake's band NSYNC was on hiatus. For his solo album, Timberlake began to adopt a more mature image as an R&B artist opposed to the previous pop music recorded by the group. The majority of the album was produced by the Neptunes (credited as "Williams and Hugo") and Timbaland, and features guest appearances by Janet Jackson, Clipse, and Bubba Sparxxx. Primarily an R&B album, Justified also contains influences of dance-pop, funk, and soul music. Justified received generally positive reviews from critics, who complimented the mature progression of Timberlake's material, although some criticized its lyrical content. The album earned Timberlake four Grammy Award nominations, including Album of the Year, and won the award for Best Pop Vocal Album. Justified debuted at number two on the US Billboard 200 and sold 439,000 copies in its first week. It was certified three-times platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), having sold over 3.9 million copies in the US. As of 2012, the album has sold over 10 million copies worldwide.

So over an hour turns out to be more JT than I would prefer, even though I knew, and liked, a fair few of these songs. Unfortunately front loading the singles was an issue for me. I think Cry Me A River is a genuinely great pop song, while also thinking it's a bit creepy. And not just because of the music video, although that doesn't help. Despite the fact the singer is clearly the one who's been wronged (given his partner cheated on him), there's just something so gleeful in the satisfaction he's taking in the fallout that is icky to me. Still, great song. The production makes it sound very much of it's time, even though I mostly like it good enough. Justin clearly wants to be Micheal Jackson (especially on something like Nothin' Else), and that's never going to happen, but he does have a nice voice. Ultimately, it's mostly fine, occasionally great, sometimes just really forgettable. Really more of a 2.5 for me, but: 3/5 P.S. Justin Timberlake and ska band Reel Big Fish being on the same record label (Jive Records) in 2002 just shows you how odd the early 2000s were.
JUST FUCKING NO. I think we've entered some strange multiverse where he's not a fame hungry smug faced little prick with a wandering penis, and is instead to be taken seriously as a genuine artist FUCK OFF, he's no more an artist than I am an architect. This squeaky voiced unjustifiably narcissistic manchild would so dearly love to be Michael Jackson its comical. Did nobody tell him that aspiring to be a paedophile is not a good thing? I dont care how expensive the producers were or how many hits they've had, this is cynical bullshit for the simple minded (which reminds me, Street Fighting Years had also better not be on this stupid list) Update; Piers has privately informed me that under our "friendship agreement" drafted by his mum in 1985 (if i wanted a friend i had to refarin from barking at mopeds and defecating in public amongst many, many other things) I am comtracturally obliged to do everything he says, and he says I have to.listen to this record... So here goes Justi fucking fied by Justin fucking Timberlake, and at this point we must pause to take in the monumental shitness of the title. Let the "music" begin! Track 1. Pharrel, take your silly hat and fuck off.....I hate Justin's voice, he's got less soul than a dancing Chinese robot. Track 2. I quite like the snare sound , this is quite possibly the only positive thing I will say for the next 55 minutes...oooh a Moog. (Or Moog emulator) Track 3. Christ his voice is annoying, i need to turn this down. Oh Oh Oh Oh I think you're shit Oh Oh Oh Oh I think you"re shit Track 4. Nope, next Track 5.. This single that i remember...Nina plays this in the car. horrible falsetto, no more to be said about this except..... #FREE BRITNEY Track 6. Ooh another single, there's Pharrel again, he really is musical herpes , i despised this at the time and my thoughts haven't changed, OFF Track 7. Like Stevie Wonder covering Paint It Black, only shit. (For the record I qould quite like to hear Stevie Wonder. Over Paint It Black) Track 8. More of the same, the snare sound getting g annoying now. How many times.does the word "Girl" appear on this record? Track 9. Back to the 3rd rate Stevie Wonder nonsense. Awful. Track 10.. Frank Zappa recorded a song i n 1977 mocking the soft rock love ballads of the time, it was called "I Have Been In You" nothing has changed. I have to stop listening whilst I change trains, I've never been more grateful to be in Newport. Track 11. Wrong for me. Track 12. If he makes that "Ahh" sound just one more time....The Neptune's by numbers Track 13. The most aptly named song for the final.track.... Oh how i dislike slushy piano ballads Finally it's over!!!! If you've read this far you might have guessed that I do not like this record one.little bit, and you would be correct. The spoken word vocalisations are particularly awful. The best thing about Justin Timberlake is that you'd never get tired of punching his face . Slickly produced early noughties pop for trainee rapists..
Poor. Inessential. Lightweight.
Nope, nope, nope: Señorita? Nope. Like I Love You? Nope. (Oh No) What You Got? Hell, no! Take It From Here? Absolutely no. Cry Me a River? Mamma mia! No! Rock Your Body? Nice try, but no. Nothin' Else? Nope. Last Night? Didn't we just listen to this? Nope. Still on My Brain? Nope, nope, nope, nope. (And She Said) Take Me Now? Nice try, but still: Nope. Right for Me? Wrong for me! Let's Take a Ride? Nope. Never Again? Exactly, never again. If you want to know why pop music has lost its relevance in the 21st century, you only have to listen to the offshoots of boy bands, girl bands and Disney stars. Perfectly produced, schmaltzy pop, devoid of provocation or innovation, so clinically clean, so antiseptic that it all sounds interchangeable. Justin Timberlake certainly has a certain amount of talent, but this pandering to the audience (who listens to this sort of thing? 12-year-olds? Mothers-in-law? Accountants?) is unbearable. What on earth is this album doing in the 1001 Albums list? And P. S. : Who on earth is responsible for this unbelievably ugly, cheap-looking artwork? Wasn't Justin Timberlake a superstar, and isn't he still? Couldn't he have afforded anything better? It's awful.
He’s a likeable bloke is JT, this shines through on this album and it’s strengthened by the machine tooled perfection of the production. Despite the flawless nature of this his charisma keeps it on the right side of human. The singles are great but there’s no need for this to be over an hour long
The big hits are all-time classics, can't argue with that. Didn't really care for the rest... it's fine, idk. Obligatory: This is going to ruin the tour.
I went into this excited. My parents are older so I grew up on 60s-80s stuff and the late 90s-2008ish are a void in my music appreciation. As a fan of JTs middle era stuff, finally giving his debut a top to bottom listen was exciting! Too bad the album sucks. Man he wants to be MJ/Stevie SOOOOOOOO bad its embarrassing. It doesn't sound like a genuine homage either, just a manufactured clone. These songs also mostly suck. How are you going to have a Neptune beat with Clipse and it sucks???? Impressive work. Best Song: Cry Me a River
Track By Track Señorita - The hype, the vibe, the instrumentation - it all sounds very 2000s. Can hear this maybe in a bar or club in 2002. Production is pretty good, very tight, snappy. Like I Love You - It’s like a mixture of flamenco and this genre of pop. I don’t know if this is just me, but it sounds bordering on sleazy but also I guess just flirting. Not sure.. (Oh No) What You Got - This is actually a little long. It’s alright as a song, not loads to write home about for me. Also the synth sounds a little dated. Take It From Here - This is pretty decent. Can imagine listening to this on a CD player or a Walkman or something. With like wire earbuds. In a lift or on a tube or similar. Quite good groove. Hands making that wave motion. Cry Me a River - It’s hard to listen to this as if for the first time as it’s such a classic. Again, well produced and catchy hooks. Don’t know if it’s my favourite one but enjoyable enough to listen to. A lot of this music sounds like it would be at home played underground, like in a club or somewhere similar. Rock Your Body - Musically, this is a legitimately great song. Good mixing, instrumentation & general dancy, groovy vibe. Sounds actually a little more sleazy in the context of the album. Don’t know why that keeps coming up but hey. Nothin’ Else - This one reminds me a little of George Michael, in its style and delivery. Pretty decent tune. Actually I may have preferred George himself to perform it! Last Night - This does sound a little budget Thriller. Bit mean, but can’t dent it on this one. Also, many of these are about a minute too long! Still On My Brain - This one is ok, just seems a little forgettable as a ballad-y one if I’m honest. May have been better as a boy band piece (N-Sync??) (And She Said) Take Me Now - Can hear some more Michael Jackson inflections here. He must have been an inspiration for him for sure. Some decent vocal runs. But I didn’t particularly care for this one. Synth was a bit mid & slightly annoying. Right for Me - This sounds like it could be an interlude but it’s too long again. I just lose interest after a couple of minutes. Again, annoying synth and electronic sounds. Bit of jazz flute again? Not bad, but unfortunately even jazz flute cannot save the day here. Let’s Take a Ride - This is a quite decent smooth R’n’B-style groove. Again, very of the time. Not particularly great though. Just passable really. Never Again - Some decent progressions/playing and a good change of pace. A little long and meandering though. Overall Review: Was not aware of this album before, but had heard of Justin before. I don’t think I was massively missing out. Whilst there are a few great hits on this (particularly Rock Your Body) and the production on some is good, many of these tracks sound like filler and are too long or forgettable. It may have had more of an impact at the time but it’s not massively doing it for me as an album. Also, they could probably have edited and curated it a little better. Could easily have been 11 tracks & 45 mins. Doesn’t justify ( :) original hehe) the length. 2.3/5 Favourite Songs: Rock Your Body
THE AMAZING JT. Great album coached by Pharrell the musical genius
Fuck this guy, and his fucking bland pop music too. I’ll never have the money or fame of this guy, but I’ll never have to look at a fucking no talent hoax staring back at me when I look in the mirror every day
It’s hard to believe he was once…cool? Sexy in some way? I don’t know what I’m looking for here. If he hadn’t been such a dork lately would I feel differently? Anyway, this is fine. I like the next one more.
BOOOOOOOOOOORIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIING
Full of singles from the early 00's. If you were around back then this is bound to take you right back as it was all over the radio at that time.
Literally nothing special here, and certainly not enough decent material here to justify (lol) an hour
This is just feel good rnb style pop with production that lifts Timberlake’s vocals to their potential. The Neptunes and Timbaland produced tracks stand out as the stars here especially the singles and (And she said) Take Me Now. Some of the slower tracks (Still on the Brain especially) sound like Michael Jackson’s ‘Stranger in Moscow’ era and ‘Never Again just feels a bit unnecessary, but this is a really good enjoyable listen
This is a prime example of someone having the brains to pick the standout songs as singles, as those 4 tracks are great - especially “Cry Me A River”, which might be one of the best songs of the 00s, and “Rock Your Body”, which is still my favourite Justin Timberlake song. The call and response bit of “Senorita” is pretty much the sound of every night out I had when I was a teenager and, although I think it’s maybe the weakest of the 4 ‘biggies’, “Like I Love You” is still incredibly catchy. But, Lord, the rest of this album is a total slog - none of it is a patch on the hits, and all of it is a dated bunch of 00s pop. “Take It From Here” is a particular low point, as is the lyric ‘you’re out of this world, except you’re not green’ from the otherwise inconsequential “Nothin’ Else”. It’s all just a bit (very, very) poor man’s Michael Jackson, with a brief attempt at doing a Prince impression, and far too long. Also, in general, the spoken-word nonsense of early-00s pop makes me feel a bit queasy now - I’m not even sure I liked it as a teenager, but I just find it cringe. This is very much a 2.5* album for me, but I am not sure I have it in me to stretch to a 3.
3/6
This album is gonna ruin the tour. I can't really JUSTIFY its inclusion in the list. The critics behind this book need to give a pretty generous time gap to anything they consider adding, because this is just "duhhh popular music, gotta hear it" Which, I suppose, aligns with a lot of the more British choices on this list, especially from the 80s.
I didn't think I would enjoy this album as much as I did, but it's a solid 4 out of 5. Justified by Justin Timberlake really surprised me!
I think Justin Timberlake is very overrated. There are maybe 2 decent songs on this album
I liked this album more than I was expecting. Justin has a great voice and the production and beats from Neptunes were very nostalgic for the early 2000's.
2.5 - I like the production and the use of a live band with type of music was probably unique in that era of pop music. I don't think JT's lyrics are good.
Первые шаги Джастина на большой сцене уже имеют сильные и все еще актуальные хиты, но половина альбома не на столько же выразительная.
NSync and FutureSexLoveSounds are better JT music
Everyone has their limits on this list - look, i even gave Baby One More Time so credit. This is just BAD - pure and simple. A bunch of pop producers listened to Stevie Wonder and took a 16 yr old Disney star from Memphis and boom - recipe for money and pure poisonous ear mold. Cringe lyrics, cringe drum machine - i am worse for having to go through this. Is that a showtune at the end? WHY!
# Album Name: Justified # Artist: Justin Timberlake # Rating: 2/5 # Comments: Terrible name for a terrible album. This has aged badly. Admittedly, the single released were big at the time which drags this from a 1 to a 2. The rest is dross. # Top Tunes: Singles released # Would I listen to it again? No
I wonder what ever happened to this kid…?
It was a good album but I got fed up after a short period of time so I’m going to give it a 2 out of five stars
I’m convinced that when (probably AI) historians look back at when the 21st century truly begun they will say September 11, 2001 as that set the tone for everything else that was to follow. Perhaps when the AI-engineered musical historians look back at when the dire 21st century fare that’s plagued the charts truly began they will look back at the release of this monstrosity. Over produced to within an inch of its life, this album personifies everything that is wrong with modern music. I can honestly say this felt like the longest one hour and 3 minutes of musical listening I’ve ever had to endure. And I grew up at a time when The Birdie Song was a hit. I wouldn’t be surprised if they play this album to captives at Guantanamo Bay as one of their torture methods. Following the success of Eminem, the music industry were obviously obsessed with finding a white Usher-like R&B artist to rake in the $$$. And so Project Justin began, ending with this utter abomination. In the year of my birth, a long time ago now in what feels like a galaxy far far away, Don McLean had a number one famously lamenting about “The day the music died”. Don was wrong. That day was November 4, 2002 If I could give 0 I would. Unfortunately the machine won’t let me know so 1 it is
Again, an earnest attempt to be objective, strip away all the cult of celebrity and just address the music. And you know what, over the years ive done alot of driving to Irish radio and its vanilla tastes and in the last few years he's done the odd song I haven't hated. So I was all open ears; maybe ive been doing him a disservice all these years. Fuuuuuuck.... Basically it was all (and I mean ALL) the sweaty, winky eyed oohs from Prince's overlong Sign'o'the times, condensed into a purgatorial hour of torture. I literally hated every song. And I get it, SOTT is the 3rd highest rated album of all time on Album of the Year, so I get people like this stuff, and I understand that this album will appeal to the same crowd but im currently undergoing hypnosis to wipe this from my memory so pretty soon I won't have... Erm, a spice bag and saveloy please.
The production is stellar, but the songs overall and just good.
This stinks
Starts well, good singles, but also a lot of filler
Four some reason this is on my shelves, despite never having heard it before. I can only assume it was purchased off the back of being a Neptunes produced album; The Neptunes usually put out some really decent pop music, but this is dreadful. Heard before ❌️ Listened this time ✅️ Revisit ❌️ ★★☆☆☆(3/10) Total reviewed : 445 Already owned : 99 Purchased : 25 To buy : 1 Nope : 320
I feel like this album tries to be a lot of different things and none of them really work. Favorite track: Like I Love You
I believe that after completing the 1001 Albums list, you are able to select your favorite of all the albums. I am halfway through. This has been my least favorite so far.
Some Justin songs are okay, except for the dumbass white guy who's always singing on them.
Jeg havde troet, der var mere i den her, men igen et af de der popalbums, der ikke har noget at byde på, når man er igennem det, der blev til hits.
6/10
The inclusion of this album on the list is certainly not Justified. I really dislike this one.
Beste sang: Rock your body
I can see why it's such a popular record.
617/1089 - A lot of this style of music makes me want to listen to the original style it was likely based off of. In this case MJ and Jamiroquai.
I get the length complaints, I do. But i find it nigh impossible to get bored of prime timbaland and neptunes. His next album should be on this list too, what the hell are we doing
Pretty impressive some Michael Jackson some Prince some hip hop some Bee Gees better than expected
🫤
JT, but not his best
Over produced to an inch of its pitiful life. First track sounds like an attempt at producing everything Stevie Wonder ever did in the 70’s. Very much a poor imitation of Jay Kay. Terrible
Nah
no thanks
*The singles are good, but don't necessarily all hold up like they did in 2002. *Definitely a victim of excess tracks on CDs of the time *Many tracks were too slow R&B for my taste
so 2000s lolll
Not as bad as I thought it would be.
An enjoyable listen. Dude brought sexy back for sure.
This genre is not really my jam....especially 60+ minutes of it.....but the singles are still bangers, especially 'Like I Love You' and 'Cry Me a River'.
genuinely such a fun album not at all what I expected from Justin Timberlake, but honestly loved it.
Very good album! Never gave it a shot when I was younger but as I've evolved my music tastes this is a pretty good album!
Not a lot of juice past the hits on this
Blah
Me cagan los blancos que se sienten negros, por mejor producidos que estén
Merda
Somehow both very early 2000s and timeless at the same time. Production is scientifically formulated to be as catchy as possible. A little cheesy at times (the cover and title for example) but it's a good cheese that has mostly aged well. Strong start but drops a bit in the second half. 7/10
Phenomenal R&B/Pop Album
His voice and the way he sings makes me want to be violent.
Crap
I'm not gay, but JT is on the 1001 Men I Must Have Sex With Before I Die list
This whiteboy is so overrated. Faux suave.
The first half got me to ponder on the value of obviously mass-market oriented pop albums, and the trade-off between having a rather amazing set of producers and songwriters, yet having the album's face be some pretty boy/girl who happens to be the current fad. It also made me wish it had in fact been Michael Jackson who sang on multiple of these very well-made pop tracks. The second half made me wish those insipid, overly smooth R&B songs would finally come to an end.
though this album is a classic and top hit of the early 2000's for reason. personally, i just dont enjoy Justin Timberlakes work and especially this album with no hate to the artist though i also dont know anything about him or his life.
I liked this album and knew quite a few songs, and knew it was due to my daughter playing his songs, ah bless 👌
3 in reality but a 4 for nostalgia
Superb!
not my thing
He's very pleased with himself, with his frat-boy pastiches of Stevie Wonder and Michael Jackson. Nobody would leave their drink unattended around him - creepy vibe. The beats are very representative of the time, but this is an oppressive, unsatisfying listen, which is already disappearing from my memory as I type this.
I want to start with a personal note before going into the album. In some cases, I can feel insecure about the scores I give, specially the lower ones. I'm afraid that these ratings are more of a product of some external emotions rather than my actual feelings about the records themselves. I often feel incredibly stressed or anxious, and I never can tell why. I think it might be for poor sleeping (although I fixed that and my schedule wasn't that bad to begin with) , burnout about having to write a review a day, probably any other factor such as work or even because I really dislike the album I had to listen to that day, and because it is the first thing I do in the morning, it may be very possible that it affects the rest of the day. The thing is that I never have a clearly reason to why I feel this way. I needed to mention all of this because two reasons: number one is that I wanted to write my thoughts about this matter, which has being in my head for awhile now, and secondly, because it just happened today with this album. The second time I listened to this I was feeling like my chest was about to explode, and the third time, before even starting, I had to do some deep breathing exercises to make sure my mind was in the right place (the only reason I listened to it thrice is just because I needed to take notes). In both cases, I wasn't sure if this very negative state was produced by the album or other factors. Now into the album: I hated this. It is one hour of a guy trying his best to sound like Michael Jackson and only reaching about a decimal part (maybe not even that) of the style, power and charisma of the greater singer. I truly don't feel anything hearing him and I don't find anything to be memorable nor catchy. From start to finish I get the sensation of listening to a sham, to something that has no originality, thus becoming incredibly disingenuous. In addition, he can get incredibly repetitive, singing the same melodies and topics over and over again, making the tracks feel lengthy and weary. But Justin Timberlake is not the only part of the album I don't like. The instrumentation also I believe is dull and boring, but at least is not as bad, as the production is decent and there are some actual funky guitars and basses and occasional beautiful pianos and strings here and there, although there's nothing that make any of the songs even passable or personally enjoyable. The only thing I would say I like are the features, and there is not a lot of them, neither they're that impactful, so in the end I don't think there is any redeemable element. Listening to this album was incredibly tedious. There is no reason why it needed to be one hour of the same style done in such a poor manner.
The really good ones (cry me a river and rock your body) were still really good, but the rest left room for improvement, especially since JT can really sing fr fr. Production was dope between Neptunes and Timbo
I have never listened to Justin Timberlake’s music. I know he was in a boys’ band. I am not expecting much from Justin Timberlake. I expect a lot of insipid pop music. Let’s see if I am right. Oh my God!! This is a terrible album. It is full of insipid love songs. Justin is trying hard to be cool. It doesn’t works. His vocals are okay. Nothing great. The album mostly uses electronic instruments. None of the songs stand out. All awful. This is a terrible album. One star.
Look, I think the kid’s a decent actor, but this shit just sounds like privileged white recycling of Black soul music. A mighty oak reduced to a street flyer for a strip club.
This was a bit nostalgic - I was never a fan but had a soft spot for the hits off this album. I never really got tired of hearing them on the radio, and Cry Me A River reminds me of painting my Warhammer at like 13 years old. Apart from the hits though, it's a bit dull and too long. Great production, but very of the time too.
Too long and too much of the same
Justified feels like Justin Timberlake’s big “take me seriously” album after leaving *NSYNC, ditching a lot of that late-’90s boy-band sound and diving headfirst into the Y2K era. And you can definitely hear why this album was such a big deal at the time. It helped push that slick mix of pop, R&B, and hip-hop even further into the mainstream, complete with those Arabic and Middle Eastern-influenced sounds that seemed to be everywhere in the early 2000s. And, of course, the singles are still ridiculously catchy. Maybe there’s a little nostalgia doing some of the heavy lifting for me, but hey, a guilty pleasure is a guilty pleasure. The problem is that once those familiar songs are out of the way, Justified really starts to drag. The second half in particular was a freaking slog. So many tracks settle into the same lower-energy groove with beatbox-heavy production, relaxed vocals, and not a whole lot happening to separate one song from the next. Some of the songs also just keep going. You’ll think a track is wrapping up, and then suddenly there’s this long outro that sounds like everybody decided to fake an improv session for another minute or two. By that point, I was ready to move on. Thankfully, the final track switches things up and ends the album on a much stronger note. It has more of an old-school R&B sound that almost feels like a throwback to Timberlake’s *NSYNC days, and after everything before it started sounding so similar, that change was very welcome. There’s definitely some nostalgia here, and you can hear the beginnings of a sound that would dominate pop radio for years. But as a complete album, Justified just didn’t give me enough to hold onto. The hits are fun. The rest? I was pretty justified in wanting it to end.
Tätä Timbalandin musiikkia voi kutsua kaikkea melkein samanlaiseksi. Kyllähän Justin laulaa osaa.
Justin Timberlake and Christina Aguilera in the same week? My childhood is coming back to me…
Better than I thought but would be. No real new stand out tracks other then cry me a river and rock your body
I decided to grit my teeth and listen to this with an open mind. I needn't have bothered, as my preconceptions were bang on the money.
I wanted to say something redeeming about this crap thin white bread slice of a shit sandwich, but I can't.
Boring and incredibly bland 2000s pop that goes on for far too long. The type of thing that I would have heard in the barbers when I had to get ait 45 minutes for a haircut after school. Rock Your Body is the only one I would say I sort of liked because it has a bit of a disco style I was definitely hearing "I'm a Harry Kane" on (And She Said) Take Me Now too Highlights: Rock Your Body
Even as an NSYNC fan in the nineties and early 2000s I always harbored an irrational dislike of Justin Timberlake. That hasn’t gone away with time. He got a brief stay of execution when this and FutureSex/LoveSounds came out but twenty four years after Justified came out I couldn’t tell you why. Is it bad? No, but dated (being produced by The Neptunes and Timbaland in the 2000s will do that to you) and much too long it surely is. His voice is also much more irritating than I remember it being. Coming back to this after two decades I really didn’t miss it. It’s very nearly the same sound that makes me dislike Madonna’s Hard Candy too. Because Justin and Pharrell doesn’t really hold up. And though I don’t like making a case for him but how is this the Justin Timberlake album that (briefly) made the list and not FS/LS?
gay ass inclusion to the list honestly
Lowkey a banger🔥
Oh, man. An hour of Justin Timberlake? Are we serious? Yes, we're serious, and I'm going to listen to this album. Of course, it's throwaway 2000s-era pop that tries to imitate much better R&B music from earlier decades without much success. Well, depending on your definition of success, it could be pretty successful. Anyway, the lyrics are dumb, the songs are boring, and every last one of them is at least 30 seconds too long. I can't say I like the beatboxing on "Cry Me A River", which turns a mediocre boy-band pop tune into something with a genuinely annoying rhythm section. This is just disposable pop from 2002 with very little notable outside of a couple of annoying yet weirdly popular hits. This album is the lowest ranked album of 2002 globally. Other 2002 albums rated by me: Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots(2/16)-5 Sea Change(6/16)-2 Highly Evolved(11/16)-2 A Little Deeper(15/16)-2
This felt like it went on for about 3 hours. My lord. Twas nice when there was a wee bit where I knew the two songs (rock yo body). I think the worst thing is that the entire album feels inauthentic, you know Justin T didn't make this music.
#426 There are 3-4 singles that I’ve heard to death and unfortunately these are the highlights of an album that is very front loaded, bloated and increasingly tedious. The production and style just seem very of that time and I can’t help feel most of the songs sound like wannabe Michael Jackson, but the less interesting ballady type. Heard before? ❌ Would I revisit? ❌ Listen before you die? ❌ Fave track(s): Like I Love You Rating: 4/10 ⭐️⭐️
🧑🏼🦱🕺🏼👟🎤🎵
The Michael Jackson impression isn't working. There's a decent song or two, but most of this is overproduced and soulless.
As much as I dislike him as a himan cause I find him fake as a clown, this album is really good with clear influences of michael hackson very well produced and probably one of the best pop r&b albums of the 2000
As a 52 year old English male there was zero chance of me liking this. Every track sounds the same for a start. Onwards and upwards. Hopefully anyway.
boy-band escapee delivers bland debut
I really thought I was going to hate it, but I didn't. It was very, very ok. The album is pretty smooth, even though it feels a little bit overproduced at times. If I liked R&B I'd probably appreciate it more.
