Live!
Fela KutiFunky, jazzy, great live recording. Sounds like my kinda party.

Nostalgia. This was one of the first CD's I ever owned and it kick started my love of rock and roll. It's also a stone cold classic. One of those albums where you can just press play and not have to worry about any skip-worthy songs coming on.
Just a good, whimsical slab of 70's rock. Jump into the Fire is great.
Trailblazing album. Is it Black Sabbath's best work? Not by a long shot. Does it still kick ass? Oh yes.
Solid, a very R.E.M. record. Stand and Orange Crush are awesome.
Amazing guitar harmonics, bluesy psych rock, what's not to love?
I thought it had moments. The song Alien was pretty great. That said, I'll probably never listen to this one again.
I get strong beach vibes from the Police. Maybe it's the vocals? Standout track: King of Pain
Equal parts haunting and beautiful. A big departure from the kind of music Bruce had been making up to this point in his career, it's a bold move that paid off in a big way. Favorite song: Atlantic City
Despite the name, this is more NWOBHM/Thrash, and a solid slice of it at that. Hugely influential album. Favorite track: Don't Burn the Witch
Classic album. I didn't know Elton rocked this hard! Favorite track: Saturday Night's Alright for Fighting
Has it's moments but mostly unremarkable. The ear splitting vocal recording was mostly not for me.
This one frustrates me. I can definitely see why it's so highly touted. The beats are unique, the lyrics are amazing, but for some reason I just can't get into it as much as I feel like I should, and I can't even put my finger on why. Favorite track: Alright
Lovely album, very relaxing. I have to dock it a bit for the jaw harp sound that seems to be on almost every track on the record. Still solid though. Favorite song: A Bunch of Lonesome Heros
Best AC/DC album in my opinion. Solid pretty much all the way through and filled with awesome riffs. Favorite track: Highway to Hell (Shot Down in Flames a close second)
It's simple, it's stripped down, and it rocks! The first half is amazing, the second kind of cools off a bit but solid overall. Favorite track: Hotel Yorba
Adele has an amazing and soulful voice. That said, the music is not really my cup of tea. Favorite track: Rollin in the Deep
While I have immense respect for Paul Simon as an artist, the songs on this album (for the most part) don't really move the needle for me. Favorite track: Call Me Al
I found this album to be completely unremarkable in every way. Like I just listened to it and I couldn't really tell you much about it. Plus the vocals were grating. Like a severe annoying version of Wayne Coyne.
I really enjoyed this. I had a misconception that this was a punk band. Glad I was wrong! Instead I got this post industrial rock beauty. Favorite track: The Wait
Almost like a small intimate performance of early Pink Floyd B-sides and outtakes, which is a good thing! Favorite track: Here I Go
Threadbare, intimate, powerful. Those are the words that come to mind when I think back to this beautiful album. Favorite track: Things Behind the Sun
After listening to this I can safely say that Bollywood music is not for me.
Fats has a beautiful and powerful voice. Not really my kinda music but I enjoyed parts of it. Favorite track: The Rooster Song
Lauryn has a beautiful and soulful singing voice, but she also has a pretty good flow when she raps. Favorite track: Lost Ones
I love a good live album and this certainly fits that bill. Great energy and atmosphere. Favorite track: Night Train
Very avant garde, maybe a little too much so for my liking. Favorite track: I'd Like That
80's synth pop, HEAVY on the 80's. This was a fun listen, but one that I don't think I'll be going back to much. Favorite track: Song With No Name
I generally don't like Arcade Fire's music but I found a few songs that I genuinely enjoyed. Mostly big standard indie rock with a few above average moments sprinkled in. Favorite track: Suburban War
And here I thought I knew every 70's garage rock band that was worth knowing. Like, was Slade on the Dazed and Confused soundtrack and I just missed it. Good stuff! Favorite track: Mama Weer All Crazee Now
Solid British trip hop, which is a welcoming thing for a Massive Attack fan like me. Favorite track: Dirge
A very melancholy live album from The King. It really accentuates what an amazing voice he had. Favorite track: After Loving You
I thoroughly enjoyed this. Beautiful reverberating melodies, amazing vocal harmonies, I thought I'd heard this album before but I obviously had not cos it was way better than I was expecting. Favorite track: This Is The One
Amongst all of the other terrible aspects of COVID-19, it took John Prine from us. This wonderful, thoughtful, beautiful folk debut album is a must listen for singer/songwriter and country fans. Favorite track: Sam Stone
Probably my least favorite of the '69 Creedence albums, and it's still awesome. I defy any other dudes from California (or anywhere really) to make a better Cajun bluesy rock record. Favorite track: Born on the Bayou
I could never really get into Fatboy Slim, which is surprising cos I really enjoy a lot of similar stuff (The Crystal Method, Aphex Twin). I can't put my finger on why it doesn't resonate with me, but it mostly doesn't. Favorite track: Gangster Trippin
I'd heard of this band and thought I knew what kind of music to expect, which was not this noise rock awesomeness. Sounds like it should've been produced by Steve Albini. Favorite track: Here Come The Rome Plows
Man this really ran out of steam in the latter half, but the beats on the first few tracks are outstanding. Too bad Kanye had to go crazy cos he could make some good tunes. Favorite track: Black Skinhead
Very meh for me. I like the energy but the music mostly didn't do anything for me. Favorite track: Dull Life
First artist to be encountered twice on this list. Very grandiose and more orchestral sounding than I figured it would be, and Elton sounds amazing. Favorite track: Tiny Dancer
Fun, bouncy Celtic Rock. It sounds like it could be an influence for quite a few bands that can't after it. Favorite track: Has Anybody Here Seen Hank?
Furious frenetic grind excellence. Home of the shortest song ever, and a bunch of others that aren't much longer. Favorite track: You Suffer (kidding!). Real favorite track: Born on Your Knees
Quite a slog at 3 hours but Ella has a beautiful voice so that definitely helps. Favorite track: The Man I Love
Mostly faded into the background for me, but there were definitely a few moments of beautiful serene dream pop that made me take notice. Favorite track: Little Bird
Art pop with a heavy 80's vibe, which I found to be a lot of fun. Favorite track: Give it Up
I could relax and listen to these beautiful vocal harmonies all day and not tire of them. Wonderful folk rock debut. Favorite track: Helplessly Hoping
This album bored me to tears. I really can't stand the vocals. I'd say it has no redeeming qualities but I kind of liked England and I actually enjoyed the last song. Favorite track: Vanderlyle Crybaby Geeks
Remember when hip hop was just fun? This record is just a good time. I wish there were less skits but that's not a huge deal. Favorite track: The Magic Number
Excellent live album that captures the speed and ferocity of Motörhead perfectly. The versions on here sound better than their studio counterparts in most cases. Favorite track: Ace of Spades
Perfect distillation of psychedelic bluesy rock. Jimi was a wizard. Favorite track: Red House
Nope, not my thing
I remembered not liking this album when it came out, and it's actually worse than I remember. Fred Durst might be the cringiest frontman in history. How did I used to be a fan of this group?!
I have no idea why Damon Albarn worked on this project but I'm glad he did. An amazing amalgam of rock, hip hop, pop, and more. Favorite track: 5/4
Bubblegum punk? I suppose that's what I would call this wonderfully 90's affair. Favorite track: Connection
I like '80s pop. I like '80s hip Hop. Today. I learned that I don't particularly like them when they're mixed together. Favorite track Outre Risque Locomotive
Parts of the latter half underwhelm, but the first half is outstanding stuff. Quite easily their best album. Favorite track: The Scientist
Excellent album, which is seemingly all Radiohead know how to do. Favorite track: Go to Sleep
