I don't know how to rate this one. When the opening guitar track hit, I was positive this was going to be a 5 star listen for me. Then the vocals arrived. It's not so much that he's a bad singer, as it is that his voice doesn't really match the band's energy. I haven't listened to MJ in decades. This is one of those "separate the art from the artist" situations that yields a high album rating for a less-than-ideal creator. Getting this in the same week as Phil Spector feels like I'm being tested.
