New-to-me band. Not bad, a chill, vibey sound that pairs well with reading in bed. Crystalised added to Liked Songs.

I get the importance of this album. It forms the sonic bridge between 70s Velvet Underground and 90s grunge. But as a listening experience, it wasn't my favorite.

What the precise hell am I listening to? Bailed after track 3 or 4. Not for me.

This album begs for the crack, hiss, and pop of vinyl. It's very much of its time while also feeling comfortably familiar and timeless. You Make Me Feel So Young, Old Devil Moon, and I've Got You Under My Skin all added to Liked Songs.

Supermassive Black Hole and Knights of Cydonia were already on the Liked Songs prior. Added Starlight but the rest of the album was a bit of a miss for me.

I don't know how to rate this one. When the opening guitar track hit, I was positive this was going to be a 5 star listen for me. Then the vocals arrived. It's not so much that he's a bad singer, as it is that his voice doesn't really match the band's energy. Overall, I added Kung Fu and Darkside Lightside to Liked Songs, but probably only because they had more band and less singer.

Not bad per se, but kind of forgettable. Further Away added to Liked Songs.

Well that's the first time I've ever heard "Reaganomics" in a song lyric. I haven't heard a Simply Red song since the last time I sat through one on the radio with my finger poised over the record button in hopes that the song after it wouldn't suck. I had a good run, I guess.

Honestly, hell yeah. Good Times Roll, My Best Friend's Girl, Just What I Needed, You're All I've Got Tonight, Moving in Stereo all either already on the Liked Songs or added to it. It's easy to forget how goddamned GOOD The Cars were.

My GOD, I hate Kate Bush. Running Up That Hill singlehandedly wrecked that whole season of Stranger Things for me, tbh.

Hell. Yes. I live for The Ramones. Every song is a winner on this album. The tightest 29 minutes in punk rock history.

I always forget about Skynyrd. I'm not huge into Southern Rock, but there are some good tracks on this one. I Ain't The One, Gimme Three Steps, and Free Bird all added to Liked Songs.

Back in the Saddle was already on my Liked Songs. Added Last Child, Rats in the Cellar, and Lick and a Promise. Solid 70s boogie-rock.

Lebowski jokes aside, this is a classic for a reason. The title track was already on my Liked Songs, and I added Life in the Fast Lane.

I think the Spotify link might be broken. I got one, under three minute song by this band, and then some seemingly unrelated tracks that sound like the background music for a corporate recruitment video. I didn't hate the one track but I guess this gets 2 stars from me.

What a pleasant surprise. I knew some Peter Gabriel songs before this but had never listened to a full album of his before. I added most of these songs to my Liked Songs.

What a once-in-a-lifetime talent Adele is. A high 4 stars from me, only because I think 21 was better.

You know what? Hell yeah. This slaps. I knew Paper Planes going in, but the rest of this album is amazing too. (With the exception of Timbaland's bit in Come Around, but even with that, the rest of the song is great.)

Honestly I was already sure what I was rating this when it popped up. I find Dire Straits to be kind of meh.

A 2 hour live double album isn't the best introduction to any band, much less one as, erm, unique, as Hawkwind. Every time I found myself thinking "yeah, ok, this isn't bad," I would then realize that there was So. Much. More. of this album to go yet.

Hard to rate this one. I loved this album in the 90s and for the most part it holds up. People who weren't there can't know how revolutionary this album was. It was metal that got RADIO PLAY. And yeah, some of these lyrics make me cringe right out of my skin now, but that may be more of how I've grown as a person than anything else. I can't bring myself to give it anything less than 5 stars, even though if I were being honest, it's probably only a 4 to me now.

Not my normal cup of tea, but actually a really great listen. I could play this in the background while drinking in the summer sunshine.

I'm not a prog rock girly. I tried so hard. Didn't hate the cover of S&G's America but the rest was a bit of a struggle. In the end, I fall much more on the Punk Rock side of the late 70s musical divide, and I'm okay with that.

Before this, I'd only ever heard The Meat Puppets' one 90s radio hit, plus the cover versions that Nirvana did on Unplugged. Where has this album been all my life?? This was precisely my jam.

I haven't listened to MJ in decades. This is one of those "separate the art from the artist" situations that yields a high album rating for a less-than-ideal creator. Getting this in the same week as Phil Spector feels like I'm being tested. All feelings about him aside, you can't deny how good this album is.

I love 90s hip hop that tells stories. This is a prime example of how good that can be.

None of these songs stand up on their own, but the album as a whole is great. I don't tend to like live albums, but I'd make the exception for this one. To me, live albums seem to be crappier versions of songs you like with added background noise. This one felt like a conversation.

Don't know how I missed this one in the 90s, but I'm glad thats been fixed by this project. Fuzzy, grungy, toothy. I liked this a LOT.

A forgotten favorite for sure.

Neil Young had to grow on me. I hated his voice so much for so long. Only deep into adulthood do I realize the power in that vulnerable falsetto. If you don't feel his songs in your bones, you might not be paying attention.

This wasn't bad, not my favorite, but it had a good bluesy swagger.

I'd never heard anything other than Talk Talk's one radio hit before, so this was a surprise. I enjoyed it but it didn't make a huge impact on me.

This was my first exposure to grime, and I fucking loved it.

The Kinks have a lot of Opinions About British Things. I, as a simple American, largely do not, other than the standard "I just think they're neat!" So while I'm not the target audience for the social commentary, that doesn't mean I didn't like this. Because, after all, I think they're neat. Good times with this one.

I think I might need another listen to this to be sure, but I'm pretty certain that I loved this. High 4 stars, almost 5.

I love, love, LOVE glam. I'd never really given Brian Eno a proper chance before. This was excellent! Glammy, weird, fun, smart without being snooty, art without pretention, just an all-around good time. A new favorite for sure.

I've loved this album since I was far too young to understand it. I remember stealing the LP from my dad's collection and listening to it through big 1980s headphones while staring at the cover photo, wondering about the people on the cover and the cityscape behind them, wishing I could be there. This album sounds like home to me, but also like the deep need to leave home behind. One of Dylan's finest.

I was fully expecting to jam out to Humpty Dance (after all, I'm a Xennial) and then get bored quickly by the rest of the album. To my surprise, I had a really good time with the other songs too. Some misogyny and yikes-ey lyrics about underage girls (yes, I know, it was the 90s) keep it from being more than 3 stars, but overall this was mostly fun.

Look, the misogyny is exhausting, but the grooves are legendary. I can't quiiiiite give it 5, but I refuse to go lower than 4.

This is Metallica's finest album, which puts it high in the running for finest metal album of all time. I don't listen to much metal anymore, but I could keep this one on repeat all day.

I didn't really know Nas before this. I know I'd heard the name, and maybe one song. What have I been doing with my life. This. THIS. This is the top of the 90s rap game. Hell, possibly the top of the rap game, full stop. The beats, the flow, the lyrics, all top-tier. I'm blown away.

I don't love a live album, but this was a short, fun, funky good time.

I don't listen to metal like I used to, but I kinda always like hearing Megadeth. It makes me want to put on a jean jacket with a giant back patch and make out with a guy who tastes like Marlboro reds.

I bought this CD in 94, having never heard a single second of Green Day before, based entirely on a magazine review that called it "the return of punk". I got it home, listened to it, and HATED it. I was expecting Sex Pistols or the Misfits and what the hell is this? I didn't listen to it or any other Green Day by choice for years afterwards. Then one day I heard them on the radio or something and...I got it. It clicked into place that this was A) nothing like any punk I'd known before and yet also B) still punk as fuck. I went back and relistened to that dusty copy of Dookie that I never got rid of and fell in love. I've been a fan ever since. Five stars for the ability to learn from one's mistakes.

I have been waiting so patiently for 248 days and I finally got my first Bowie album of the project. David Bowie is my favorite artist. This is my favorite Bowie album, and it contains my favorite song. This is the easiest five stars I've ever had.

This sounds like Fiona Apple and Anna Marie Tendler had a baby in the 1400s and were like "forsooth, make sure she haveth the harpe lessones." I can see why it's not for everyone, but I dug it.

I've always been more of a Document girly, but I can't find a flaw in Murmur. There's something in R.E.M.'s specific flavor of jangly that just scratches an itch deep in my brain.

I'd never heard any other track on this album than Hallelujah. What a beautiful voice we lost. Jeff Buckley's Hallelujah > Leonard Cohen's. It's not even close.

I was in, until I really, really wasn't. Is this a Krautrock thing, where one half of an album is good and the other half is unlistenable noise? I swear, this keeps happening to me with Krautrock.

I've never really liked RHCP. I haven't voluntarily listened to them in decades. The opening notes of Scar Tissue and Otherside sound like me trying to find another radio station in my 96 Honda Civic.

I've never been a big fan of The Boss. Not an outright dislike, just more of a....meh. I recognize his worth but don't enjoy spending time with him. Sort of the way I feel about bees. That being said, this is the first time I've listened to this album with grown-up ears, and I'm pretty impressed. It's lyrically complex and deliberately paced, and overall greater than I'd remembered. Still not gonna hang out with bees, though.
