Not really my thing but I can respect it
It's not bad actually, I think some of you just hate women.
Can't go wrong with British post punk
Controversial opinion but this would've flopped if Bowie hadn't died like immediately after releasing it
1-Star Albums (64)
All Ratings
I've never been much of a Beatles fan so there's no way it could have lived up to the hype for me, but I did vibe with the first six or so tracks
Wispy forgettable lo-fi indie nonsense
Music to be put on hold to (complimentary)
Woman's got a set of pipes on her!!! A lot of dynamite singles, especially the opening and closing tracks.
Didn't like The Eagles BEFORE I knew they were responsible for Life in the Fast Lane, now I truly hate them.
Controversial opinion but this would've flopped if Bowie hadn't died like immediately after releasing it
Grooved with the instrumentals, but would not listen again.
Melancholy folk, not really my thing.
Easy listening, no standout tracks.
🕺
Meh
Dug the guitar in Don't Die Just Yet, but otherwise didn't care for it
Music that my mom likes
Worst album so far 😬
THELONIOUS MONK THE MAN THAT YOU ARE!!!!!!!!!!
An all-time favourite!!!
Meh
Some decent beats but WHAT are these lyrics
Decent enough punk, really dug Mannequin
Mediocre at best. Actively hate Jump.
Bro why are you screaming 😭
I never did care for 80s synth pop 😑
I liked it, but it was pretty forgettable.
This was so much fun!!! Loved the second track especially :)
Not much of a rap guy but I liked B.O.B., and Ms. Jackson is of course one of the songs of all time
Meh
Some great tracks, but a mid album overall. Going Home did not need to be 11 minutes long.
Boring
Back to Black song of all time
THEEEEEEEEEE psychedelic rock album, not one bad track
Voice of an angel
Really well-constructed, a great listen
Good but no standouts
16 minute long drum solo HELL yeah
When the chorus on the title track hits... hoo boy...
Love it. Supremely.
Kinda dug the beats, mostly wasn't feeling it.
It's not Saturday Night Fever but it's okay. Really liked Walking Back to Waterloo.
Not a Radiohead guy personally but I do understand the hype this was very well-constructed
Come on Eileen song of all time. Otherwise mid.
Uneven noise rock, more good than bad
Love love LOVE this one, easily my favourite Stones album. Wait I just remembered Let It Bleed, in strong competition with Let It Bleed for my favourite Stones album.
It's giving 007 title theme
HATE the synths, those things shouldn't be anywhere near jazz. Sweet sax but I couldn't enjoy it because of the synths. Great cover art though I'll give them that.
Forgot every song as I listened to it.
The songs would be great to listen to individually as Burke's got a GREAT voice, but as an album it got a little too repetitive
Boring electronica I immediately delegated to background noise. HATED Aisha, kinda dug Aladdin's Story though.
No frame of reference to say if this is good devotional music or not but I vibed with it.
Have come to the realization I hate electronic music
Smells Like Teen Spirit riff >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
It's not bad actually, I think some of you just hate women.
Bob Marley I love you
Kind of a nothingburger, just run-of-the-mill singer/songwriter to play in corporate cafes. Title track was the only one of note.
This is what I imagine people who own houseboats listen to
GOOD TIMES 🕺 THESE ARE THE GOOD TIMES 🕺 LEAVE YOUR CARES BEHIND 🕺
Kind of a weak second half but like when Girls Just Want to Have Fun is track 2 that's to be expected
I hate you synths I hate you electronic music I hate you Depeche Mode I hate you Waiting for the Night
They are called Primal Scream because that is what you are compelled to do when you hear Stuka
Easy listen, nothing to write home about
All these Beatles albums sound exactly the same to me
This guy would've killed it as a medieval bard
Cold Irons Bound was good, rest was Not. Bob REALLY can't sing.
I'm a Yellow apologist but this was boooooooring
This is what would be playing in the background if I ever got mugged in an alleyway outside a pool hall
Great beats, great lyricism, waaaay too long though
Almost impressive how average this one is, it's like stock 60s rock
Really dug this one, especially loved the goth surf rock vibe of Cecilia Ann. Rock Music is the only miss, the singer was a little too growly for me there.
More atonal noise than I generally prefer in a punk record. Like I'll take SOME atonal noise but this is just excessive.
Incredible voice, terrible production. Why do 80s instrumentals always sound so bad???
A little too sad indie girl for me to really get into it, though Supercut is excellent
Another day, another mid Beatles album
A little one-note, but then it's one really good note
Probably my least favourite Sly Stone album but I can respect it
Gotta listen to Pink Floyd more often, their albums are all so good
The singer was so bad I had to quit halfway through, I just couldn't take it anymore
On my hands and knees begging this list to stop giving me 80s rock albums
Sadly I'm too much of a weenie to really enjoy heavy metal. The instrumentals were good I think? Vocalist guy please drink some water that growling can't be good for your throat.
I'm more of a classic jazz guy myself but respect where it's due
The German edition is WAY better... the songs lose all their oomph when translated, they sound like a bad Dietrich impression instead of legit Weimar cabaret
Really liked this one!! Blue Turk was pure dynamite, and MAD respect for the West Side Story cover.
Meh
Can't go wrong with British post punk
The best thing to come out of this album is the 1993 Vanity Fair photoshoot with Cindy Crawford. The second best thing is Miss Chatelaine.
Sometimes it feels like they're only including albums on the basis of one good song, in this case Solsbury Hill
Dancing Queen, Knowing Me Knowing You, Money Money Money, AND Fernando are you KIDDING me
Working Class Hero is great (though I prefer covers to the original), the rest is mid
Easily my least favourite Velvet Underground
Another one of those albums where the title track is the only really good one
This was so fun I love you golden age of hip hop
Tries too hard to be off-beat, lands on annoying
The sweet sound of distortion and tinnitus
Instrumental rock ily
Dime a dozen soft rock, I was over it by track 5. Long, repetitive, uninspired. Above all booooooooooring.
Shrug. It's fine. Longer than I would've preferred + didn't like the intro/outro, but otherwise inoffensive.
Audio equivalent of sucking on a lemon
Cohen can’t really sing + the instrumental arrangements are a little same-y but the album still has a certain je ne sais quoi, likely due to Cohen’s ever incomparable lyrics
THIS RIPS!!!! I LOVE YOU LATIN MUSIC I LOVE YOU HIPPIE MUSIC I LOVE YOU CARLOS SANTANA!!!!
We already had Moondance why are you tossing in Astral Weeks too 😭 one Van Morrison album is enough, thanks
Wayyyyy too much patter in this live album but you cannot argue with that jazz
Didn't do anything for me
Yes more like No Thank You
Supremely mid
Let's hear it for lesbianism hooray lesbianism
The epic highs (Bohemian Rhapsody) and lows (I'm In Love With My Car) of Queen
Can't listen to Björk without being filled with rage because of that travesty of a musical Dancer in the Dark. Such is the power of Lars von Trier.
EXCELLENT soul album, listened to it twice today
Wasn't feeling the beats on this one
Second half kinda blows but the first half is perfection
These jazz albums never miss
Hm. Didn't care for this one.
Well I can't say I didn't groove
Songs range from vaguely sinister to end credits music. Ngl I dug it though.
They need to release a version of this that's half the Bowie mix and half the Iggy Pop mix, I can't listen to either without thinking about what the other one does better
Not a ska guy I'm afraid, why would you do that to Freddie's Dead. They went off with Ma and Pa + Pouring Rain though I'll give them that.
The torment is unending
Saxophone!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A little on the boring side but I was feeling it??? A good background noise album.
Too many songs that aren't Superstition
Album to blast at full volume while speeding down the highway
Top tier soul album, the transition from God is Love to Mercy Mercy Me is transcendent
Albums I would hear playing at Zara (derogatory). Didn't have it in me to listen all the way through.
*shakes fist at sky* THE FRENCH
Sadly I am an Oasis apologist, Liam Gallagher they could never make me hate you
Not something I would ever listen to again but I can respect it
Brown and his band were on FIRE here
Insane getting a Beach Boys album the day after Brian Wilson died, did the algorithm do that on purpose or is it a crazy coincidence??? Anyways it's not Pet Sounds. It's okay but it's not Pet Sounds.
Platonic ideal of a 90s soft rock album
Car commercial music
Enjoyed it as I was listening to it but came back an hour later to make a note and couldn't remember a single track
Everything that sucks about 70s music distilled into one album
Great beats and lyricism but the sex skits ruined it for me, I simply do not want to listen to that
Incredibly mid car commercial music. Though I'll admit I am not immune to Use Somebody.
Man I always forget how good the b side is too, it's so overshadowed by the Overture especially but like damn these are some really good tracks
Two Canadian classics in a row hell yeah!!! I love this one in theory more than I do in practice though... 35 minutes straight of Neil Young is a bit much for me, like the album is cohesive and the songs are all great but his voice wears on you after a while, y'know? You have to be in a very specific mood to listen to it.
Yes Stop Making Sense is one of my favourite documentaries. No I don't really like Talking Heads. I contain multitudes.
I continue to hate 80s music
Easy on the ears, a very good listen. Not as memorable or well-executed as Exodus, and only one Really Good Track (kinda… that one live version of No Woman No Cry is MUCH better than the album version) but I did still enjoy myself.
We as a society never should've let disco die
I truly cannot stand this guy
I think I could've died without having listened to this one actually
No misses yet from the Pixies, this album's just one banger after another
The Latin sections were fun but the rap fusion bits didn't fuse all that well imo, the sound wasn't very cohesive
Sometimes all you can do is laugh
Solid jazz/pop record, wouldn't listen to it again but I can respect it
I vibed with the instrumentals but I found Newman's voice soooooo annoying that I just couldn't get into it. Also, very disconcerting to hear You Can Leave Your Hat On in this context, what do you MEAN the Tom Jones version is a cover??
Seven Nation Army is an all timer but tbh I was underwhelmed by the rest of it, instrumentals were mid and White's voice wasn't doing it for me... weird because I like quite a few Raconteurs songs.
Platonic ideal of a country album
NOT THE CARS 😭 genuinely who is selecting these things 😭
Can't give any album with Jailbait on it more than two stars
Some interesting things going on instrumentally but it was altogether it was just Too Much for me to enjoy. Walked away from it really wanting to listen to Sketches of Spain???
You've gotta get into a cruise ship state of mind before tossing this one on
Excellent opener and closer but Bowie’s putting the mid in middle
Was over it about halfway through disc one, and disc two did nothing to reel me back in
As someone who hates electronica I have particular beef with this one for helping to kick off the genre
AMAZING voice
Soooooooooooooo booooooooooooooooring, gave up by track 7
Heavy metal is not for me. Jesus Built My Hotrod is kind of a bop though.
Well I'm not a 13 year old boy so this one did nothing for me
Too lo-fi for my tastes but I can respect it
Have never actually listened to a Madonna album before, just greatest hits compilations. Sad to say it kind of blows :(
Enough with the lousy electronica please for the love of god
Surprisingly boring??? Only track I actually liked was All Apologies
Goth rock hooray yippee!!! More of a Bauhaus guy myself but respect where it's due
SO much fun, those strings are incredible
Oh THAT's why people love Neil Young
Took me a minute to get into it but I was won over by the time the title track rolled around, + Whiskey Woman is an all-timer
Throwback to when my uncle saw my Black Sabbath tshirt and told me to name 10 tracks to prove I actually liked Black Sabbath??? Literally who does that??? Anyways RIP Ozzy Osbourne thank you for inventing metal 😔🤘
I get why they'd include AM but this one is just kind of average to me
Okay yeah this was sexy, almost cartoonishly so at some points
GREAT guitar, great energy, not something I'm gonna add to my collection but I did enjoy this quick jaunt down to metal-land
Background noise
Fun, easy listen. I especially liked Blueberry Hill :)
This would've been craaaazy to hear in concert, could not get into it because I can very rarely get into live albums + it's too long, but kudos to whoever came up with this collab. Kudos ESPECIALLY to whoever decided to do the Ecstasy of Gold cover that was bonkers.
Life During Wartime is the only thing that made this tolerable
Yeah… It WOULD be nice…
Good vibes, good guitar, not something I'll add to my collection but you can never really go wrong with CCR. Also Keep on Chooglin is such a funny name for a song.
The Weight. Hough.
I HATE YOU MOBY STOP SAMPLING SONGS THAT ARE GOOD AND MAKING THEM BAD!!!!!
Mid
Free Bird is an all-timer I'll give them that
Didn't like Speakerboxxx at all, but The Love Below SLAPS
What do you MEAN this came out in '66, how do you invent post-punk before anybody has even invented punk
The title track and Like a Rolling Stone are the only two that are like actually genuinely great when Dylan does them, the rest are great when sung by literally anyone other than Dylan
Knock-off Bjork. The only way it could be worse is if it was actual Bjork.
Decent enough Britpop ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Lauryn Hill... Waow....
I really like Running Up That Hill so I'm sad to say every other track blows 😔 though I could see Jig of Life growing on me. Two stars because I believe in women's wrongs.
Mid
Bad
One of those concerts I desperately wish I could've been at...
I'm pretty sure this qualifies as torture under the Geneva convention
Voice of an angel!!!!!!!
Weeping and wailing and rending my garments
Oh joy, another indie rock guy with a strained voice and nothing interesting to say
Stop with the live albums jfc
😵😵😵
Atlantic City is the only stand-out
GREAT guitar
Not another live album 😭 bro just give me the studio version this BLOWS
Damn why didn't I like this last time I listened to it what was teen!me's problem
Controversial opinion but I thought Parsons and Harris sounded bad together, I would've enjoyed this more if it was just one or the other singing
Impeccable vibes, loved Angie especially
That one track which was literally just random old people talking was. So bad. And the rest of the album was mid. Bonus star because I really like The Graduate.
Mid
Terminal boredom indeed
How are there TWO Dexys Midnight Runners albums on here, who allowed this
These stars are all for Orion
Just an average Cure album, nothing to write home about
I'm not much for grunge but the guitar work was great
HATE the sound design on this one, sounds terrible
Funeral For a Friend/Love Lies Bleeding is the greatest song ever written and you can quote me on that
Music I would hear at the good Indian restaurant (complimentary)
What do you MEAN this band is from California, the singer sounds like he's Scandinavian 😭 anyways the album was decent enough, I liked the last three tracks
Great beats, great samples, a whole lot of fun :)
A lot of fun!!! Very funky beats throughout, though the lyrics could be a little cornball. LOVED People Everyday, Dawn of the Dreads, and Tennessee.
Wasn't feeling it
Meh
Does this rock or do I just watch too many singing cowboy movies 🤔
It was Fine but it didn't feel particularly noteworthy. Kind of generic really.
Oh I didn't care for that at ALL
I LOVE YOU JAZZ!!!!!!!!!!!
I've never understood the appeal of Brian Eno
Booooooooooring
Excellent sampling, decent rapping. Won't add to my library, but I'm glad I gave it a listen.
MULTIPLE White Stripes albums??? Are you kidding me???
Oh absolutely not
Easy listen, nothing to write home about
Decent enough background noise
Mid
Took me a while to get into it as it's not my scene but I yeah I get it now I Understand
GRACE BY JEFF BUCKLEY!!!!!!! I actually tossed this one on a few days ago after the generator tossed me a total dud, to remind myself that albums can be good. Happy to listen to it again so soon lol.
It's always fun getting these wildly influential albums and having everything make so much more sense in hindsight. Also, Fight the Power hell yeah.
Okay I liked this one MUCH more than the last Roxy Music album, fun and funky without overstaying its welcome
Decent indie background noise
Beautiful melancholy splendour. Probably the strongest concept album I've gotten so far.
Another one of those zero impression background noise albums
Boooooooooooring and also sexist
King of Soul indeed
Mid
Cool idea + a couple great tracks, should be right up my alley as I am all about film noir but alas. The 80s.
Expected to hate it but it was fine. I will never listen to it again. But it was Fine.
Expected to hate this one but it was actually very cool, I can respect it
Mid
I am not immune to Foreplay/Long Time
This was so bad wtf, how did Buckley go from Goodbye and Hello to THIS raunchy disaster of a funk record
Let's hear it for women hooray women
Mostly just bland, but WHAT was going on with CTA 102??? My Back Pages is an all-timer though.
Smooth, sexy, easy listen
Yeah okay
The jazz albums never miss
There's a fine line between catchy and irritating and Genius of Love is walking it
Weak second half but still a pretty fun album
Impeccable lyrics, nothing to write home about instrumentally but it gets the job done
Did not think it could get worse than Sail Away. But alas.
It was Fine until it took a sharp turn into haunted house sound effects in track 5, and somehow only got worse from there
Def the best Dylan album so far, some really great tracks + his voice isn't as annoying as usual
Solid rock record 👍
Mid
Really dug this one!! I love a good female rocker.
VERY cool hip hop record, LOVE the jazz instrumentals
My favourite tracks were the ones that Youtube muted for copyright violations
Always crazy hearing the original versions of songs I didn't even know were covers (Everybody's Talkin')
Really impressed by this one, probably the best modern album I've gotten to date
Not really my thing but I can respect it
Lyrics are goofy but you cannot argue with that guitar 🤘
Solid but unexciting 00s rock
Surprised to see this one rated so highly, I thought it was just okay. Stay is a banger though.
The highs are high, the lows are low, but it's mostly just okay
Punk NEEDS more saxophone X-Ray Spex was so real for that
If you think the saxophone solos are unnecessary you need to seek professional help
I kind of got the point after the last two Sonic Youth albums
Easy listen but not memorable
When I say ACAB I'm including these guys too
A couple of Really Good songs and a lot of mid ones
Indistinguishable from every other REM album. Felt like it lasted hours.
A lot of fun!!! A Minha Menina song of all time!!!
Dated but listenable
Too long + the heavily southern tracks sucked but otherwise inoffensive
Really dug the cover of Emotion + the title track but otherwise I'm sorry to say I didn't like this one, Beyonce please forgive me 😔
Not a fan
Kind of same-y but I have a real soft spot for old school crooners so I'm not complaining
Mid
Ik that one Kids in the Hall sketch ("Into The Doors") was making fun of Doors fans but that is unironically how I feel about Morrison Hotel.
Like a spy movie soundtrack if it sucked
More brass than I was expecting, what with the whole bongo gimmick
This blows
Not for me, though the title track rocks
Really dug this one, great pop rock album
Another day, another electronica album that I hate
Drags on a bit, though ironically the longest track (Old Whore's Diet) is my favourite by a mile
Hadn't heard the full album before!!! A couple duds but for the most part Cash OWNS those covers
Off-brand Stevie Wonder, very funky but nothing to write home about
😵😵😵
Mid
I am biased against Led Zeppelin bc they're my mom's favourite band which makes them inherently uncool in my mind but I must admit this rocks.
Not another Eno album 😭 it's better than the last one but that's not saying much
Not as good as Arrival but Abba is Abba
Was gonna complain that it was way too long but then I realized I was listening to the expanded edition lol. Looking at the original track list, yeah that's still a too long but not egregiously so, I won't add it to my collection but I am glad I listened to it.
NEED to listen to more bossa nova this rules
Best Bowie so far, I LOVE Life on Mars
A FOURTH Sonic Youth album are you kidding me??? It's like the list curators only know five bands
Not really my thing :/
Sucks
Add It Up alone is worth five stars
Wanted to like it more than I did... a little too same-y for me to get into, and doesn't have the same punch as Blue.
This BLOWS, I hate electronica
Kinda bland. I dug Cowboy Movie though.
Visions of Johanna carries this album
Mid
Lovefool + the Iron Man cover rule, and the other tracks are pleasant enough
Mid
Disappointingly mid
Gold standard for ska
😐
I love off-the-wall prog rock lyrics but unfortunately the instrumentals on this one did very little for me
Three songs that are Really Great and a lot that are mid
I dug a lot of the lyrics but the beats are SO BAD :(
Crazy lyrics but I was feeling it until that last track
Ngl the more Radiohead albums I hear the less impressed I am, not really seeing the hype here
Was not expecting to enjoy this as much as I did, excellent hip hop
Mid. Would've been a 3 if not for Mother.
I like the wall-of-sound thing but ugh, Christmas music
Always happy to listen to Iggy Pop
Generic 90s alt-rock
Mid
Mid
Why would you make me listen to that
Baker's got a set of pipes on her but the album isn't really anything special
Hm. I dug this one the first time I heard it but thought it was forgettable this time around, actually it kinda sucked.
Gotta toss this one on in the bg next time I watch Metropolis
Some good stuff in there but it's just too long :/
A lot of fun!! Kinda hated the last track though, unfortunate that it had to end on a sour note
Decent enough. Looooved the guitar work in I'm Shakin'.
Background noise at an Adult Dinner Party(TM)
Couldn't make it past side 2, I'm a prog rock apologist but this was practically unlistenable
YESSSSSSSSSSSS I LOVE ROCKET FROM THE CRYPT!!!! SO many bangers on this one, such a great listen.
Two good songs and a lot of annoying ones
The title track is good enough to carry this to 2 stars, even though the rest blows
Doesn't hold a candle to their later work. I will say I'm charmed by The Gnome though.
THIS RULES!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I need another 50 swing albums STAT
Everybody say thank you Little Richard for inventing rock and roll
Fun fun fun!!!
It's like if Oasis and Primal Scream had a really boring baby
This was so cartoonishly violent wtf, why do you hate women. Still giving it two stars bc of Stan + Slim Shady though.
Nooooooooo not Pet Shop Boys 😭😭😭 disco if it SUCKED 😭😭😭
WHY IS THIS LIST OBSESSED WITH LOUSY BRITISH POP
Music you'd hear at the best dinner party of your life
Dropping Bombs on the Whitehouse kinda rules but the rest ranges from mediocre to insultingly bad
A little on the boring side, but pleasant enough
More of a Clash guy myself but respect where it's due
Mid
Mid
Major let down after hearing Dusty in Memphis, Ms. Springfield you're better than this
Booooooooooooriiiiiiiiiiiing
Two PSB albums in one month is cruel and unusual... genuinely what HAVE I done to deserve this??
This blooooooows, music I would hear playing at that cafe I hate
Instrumentals were okay (though not really my jam), but the vocalist was SO annoying
Okay yes it is essentially the same song 14 times in a row and yes it's best executed in the first track but! It's a really good song!
I almost liked some of it, but it was a little too out there for me...
Crazy how big Madonna got without ever actually putting out a good album
I always forget how great Venus in Furs is, song of all time tbh
Meh
Shrugs. It's fine.
Hm. Not great.
Great Blues album 👍
Mid
Meh
Strong debut from Winehouse, but it's no Back to Black
That singer's so pitchy he should've gone into baseball
THIS BLOOOOOOOOOOWS STOP MAKING ME LISTEN TO LOUSY BRITISH ELECTRONICA FFS
Really annoying how the best track has a verse full of homophobic slurs :-/
I'm a Canadian born in the 90s, of COURSE I love Funeral by Arcade Fire
Was lowkey dreading this one based on what I gleaned from Wikipedia but it rules actually
VERY groovy, love the guitar :)
Mid
David Ackles if he sucked
I've never cared for Aerosmith and there's nothing here to change my mind
Wait I thought the list didn't allow soundtrack albums??? Not complaining though, When Doves Cry song of all time
Okay this rules
Strong start but went downhill fast. Especially hated the covers.
Not all Bowie albums were created equal
Looooooooooove this one, my favourite Zappa by a mile
Blue Moon Revisited greatest cover of all time?
Laaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaame
Bad
Boring
LAME. DERIVATIVE.
I can see the appeal, but it's not for me
Some good tracks. Not as strong as The Joshua Tree.
Background noise (derogatory)
Fun fun fun :)
Levi Stubbs' Tears song of all time
Every time the list spits out a punk album with a female vocalist I jump for joy
Hm. Don't like that.
Wow wow wow! OUTSTANDING funk, instant favourite 🕺
The blows. But also it rules. Come Out and Play is an all-timer.
Why are there so many Byrds albums on here?? There hasn't been a single one worth listening to.
I did enjoy this but I hate greatest hits albums as a concept + thinks it's bogus they'd include one here
Surprised but not displeased to see this one over Los Angeles and More Fun in the New World. Love me some X.
FLUTES FLUTES FLUTES!
This was SO fun, I was bopping my head the whole way through. I'm such a sucker for swing music.
The two singles are the only good tracks. Toonerville Trolley is heinous.
Shrugs. It was fine. I would've liked it better if it wasn't a live album, or if I was at the concert itself.
Kept having to pause to make sure I wasn't accidentally playing audio in another tab as well
This rules it's like what if Wagner was somehow more evil. I need to go back in time and have these guys do the score for a Piotr Szulkin movie I think that collab would be transcendent.
Mid
Mid. Sorry.
Decent enough listen. Has the only two Blur songs I really like (Girls & Boys + End of a Century) so points for that.
This list has conditioned me to think that any British album I’ve never heard of from the 80s-00s is gonna be ass bad. Pleasantly surprised to find this one is FUN actually, the type of oddball high energy indie rock that I really enjoy. Skeleton Key blows though.
Hm. Not for me.
Quite enjoyed this, though not enough to add it to my library. Especially dug the Caribbean influences.
Mid
Decent enough psychedelia. Nothing to write home about.

Turns out the key to having me enjoy 60s British folk rock is for there to be a woman singer
Shrugs. It's fine.
Hm. Maybe I don't like Bowie as much as I thought I did.
In a better world Mambo Sun would've been a #1 hit that still gets frequent radio play
Kind of sucks
So it's just an hour and thirteen minutes of noodling huh
Disappointed by this one. Abattoir Blues / The Lyre of Orpheus was one of the best albums I've gotten so far, and this one wasn't anywhere near as good.
There are a couple tracks that I Really Like but overall unfortunately it's a bit too much for me :/
Give Your Best is downright diabolical, why would they do that
Really wish I could do half stars bc this is a 3.5 if I've ever heard one. Dreams, The Chain, and Go Your Own Way are doing a lot of heavy lifting here.
Enter Sandman and Nothing Else Matters rock, the rest is mid
We need to abolish Britpop
I don't think I was in the right mood for this one today, I could see myself getting VERY into it if the planets ever align.
He's a good rapper but those beats are heinous
Crazy seeing how low the average is for this one, you people don't like Elvis? ELVIS?
Man come on
🤘🤘🤘
Really can't stand this guy's voice
Bland
And where is this alleged "fun" 🤨
I tried but I can't listen to this all the way through I just can't do it
Background noise but like really good background noise
Wait what do you MEAN this wasn't named after the Brakhage film, how do you independently get to that title
CCR is always a good time
Great instrumentals and lyrics but I really can't stand Rick Danko's voice, would be an all-time great if they had literally any other vocalist
Impeccable vibes, LOVE the patter between songs.
Decent enough background noise
ANOTHER 80s album with a great female vocalist that gets undermined by mediocre lyrics and an over-reliance on synths? What are the odds? (sarcasm)
Had to pause a couple times bc I thought my phone was ringing. But it was just the synths.
That sure was noise
This rules in the same way that 70s grindhouse flicks rule
Not for me unfortunately :/
I'm sad to say I must be on my way, to listen to the new album the list spat out today (out today). I'd like to think I'll be relistening when I can, to Rum Sodomy & The Lash -- and to Sally MacLennane!
I keep trying to find a way to like this one but I can never quite manage it

I really can't stand Bjork
THIS RULES! I love getting world music, it's always so fun :)
Really wanted to like this one bc I love a good female rocker. But alas... the 90s.
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORIIIIIIIIIIIIING
Yeah okay
Impeccable vibes
The covers were heinous, the synths were also heinous, but Shankar plays the hell out of that sitar, Metamorphosis and Sagar RULED
It's good! It's not This Year's Model. It's not Armed Forces. It's not My Aim is True. But it's good!
They really put this in the Library of Congress for preservation huh
Just when I thought the album was getting good I realized it had autoplayed a different Emmylou Harris album
S. F. Sorrow Fan Is Born
BUENA VISTA SOCIAL CLUB!!!! I discovered this one years ago at my favourite diner (which has since shut down 😢)... They had it in frequent rotation, I guess the owner was a fan lol. Excellent tunes to go with excellent food.
Mid
Don't like that
Loooooooooooove the instrumentals in this
Not okay
Stinks
Tunes were good but I kind of got the point after 40 minutes
Mid
Yeah I'm not doing this
Listened to this the way it was meant to be listened to (as background noise while reading cyberpunk). I didn't enjoy it but it was certainly a vibe.
Surely there are better Merle Haggard albums
On paper this is exactly my jam but sadly the sound just wasn't doing it for me 😔
Shrugs. It's fine.
THIS RULES! I LOVE FUNK!
Mr. Hayes I was familiar with your game but I did not realize it extended beyond the Shaft soundtrack
Mid
The French are always doing something diabolical
JIMI HENDRIX YOU ARE THE GREATEST OF ALL TIME
I was sort of almost feeling it until the A Minha Menina cover, literally shut up you will never be Os Mutantes
The Gymnopedie cover was a crazy move
I've never been a fan of Wu-Tang Clan so I wasn't expecting to like this one but actually it rules, would've liked it more without the guest tracks and skits though lol
Aggressively New Wave
You shouldn't be allowed to have such an awesome album cover if your music isn't also awesome 😤
Generic dad rock
Imagine improvising one of the greatest piano albums of all time, on a piano that sucked no less...........
Big fan of this album cover but unfortunately I haaaaaaate this type of music 😔🦀
Listening to the album: 😀 Reading up on the album: 😨
Some good tracks but they easily could've shaved half an hour off this
AWESOME
I think they should've combined this and Bayou Country (minus the lamer tracks) into one album instead of releasing them both in the same year
Yeah okay
Mid
Genuinely speechless learning this is country music. THAT band name??? THAT album title???? COUNTRY????
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORING
Music for people who unironically enjoy Ed Wood movies (I mean this as a compliment)
I don't think the person who compiled this list knows what they're talking about
Meh
THIS RULES!!!! EXCEPT THE IMAGINE COVER!!! BUT OTHERWISE THIS RULES!!!
Music production in the 80s was genuinely abysmal what were they thinking
I respect that they were doing something different but this was physically painful to sit through
