Wispy forgettable lo-fi indie nonsense
The Dave Brubeck Quartet

Music to be put on hold to (complimentary)

Not a Radiohead guy personally but I do understand the hype this was very well-constructed
Dexys Midnight Runners
2/5
Come on Eileen song of all time. Otherwise mid.
Sonic Youth
3/5
Uneven noise rock, more good than bad
The Rolling Stones
5/5

Portishead
2/5
It's giving 007 title theme
Weather Report
1/5
HATE the synths, those things shouldn't be anywhere near jazz. Sweet sax but I couldn't enjoy it because of the synths. Great cover art though I'll give them that.
Paul Weller
2/5
Forgot every song as I listened to it.
Solomon Burke
3/5
The songs would be great to listen to individually as Burke's got a GREAT voice, but as an album it got a little too repetitive
Death In Vegas
2/5
Boring electronica I immediately delegated to background noise. HATED Aisha, kinda dug Aladdin's Story though.
Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan
3/5
No frame of reference to say if this is good devotional music or not but I vibed with it.
808 State
1/5
Have come to the realization I hate electronic music
Nirvana

Nico
3/5
It's not bad actually, I think some of you just hate women.
Bob Marley & The Wailers
5/5
Bob Marley I love you
Norah Jones
3/5
Kind of a nothingburger, just run-of-the-mill singer/songwriter to play in corporate cafes. Title track was the only one of note.
Rod Stewart
2/5
This is what I imagine people who own houseboats listen to
CHIC
5/5
GOOD TIMES 🕺 THESE ARE THE GOOD TIMES 🕺 LEAVE YOUR CARES BEHIND 🕺

3/5

Tim Buckley
4/5
This guy would've killed it as a medieval bard

2/5
Cold Irons Bound was good, rest was Not. Bob REALLY can't sing.
Coldplay
2/5
I'm a Yellow apologist but this was boooooooring
ZZ Top
2/5
This is what would be playing in the background if I ever got mugged in an alleyway outside a pool hall
Raekwon
3/5
Great beats, great lyricism, waaaay too long though
Traffic
3/5
Almost impressive how average this one is, it's like stock 60s rock
Pixies
4/5
Really dug this one, especially loved the goth surf rock vibe of Cecilia Ann. Rock Music is the only miss, the singer was a little too growly for me there.
Sonic Youth
2/5
More atonal noise than I generally prefer in a punk record. Like I'll take SOME atonal noise but this is just excessive.
Tina Turner
2/5
Incredible voice, terrible production. Why do 80s instrumentals always sound so bad???
Lorde
3/5
A little too sad indie girl for me to really get into it, though Supercut is excellent
Beatles
3/5
Another day, another mid Beatles album
Van Morrison
4/5
A little one-note, but then it's one really good note
Sly & The Family Stone
3/5
Probably my least favourite Sly Stone album but I can respect it
Pink Floyd
5/5
Gotta listen to Pink Floyd more often, their albums are all so good
The Flaming Lips
1/5
The singer was so bad I had to quit halfway through, I just couldn't take it anymore
Def Leppard
2/5
On my hands and knees begging this list to stop giving me 80s rock albums
Sepultura
3/5
Sadly I'm too much of a weenie to really enjoy heavy metal. The instrumentals were good I think? Vocalist guy please drink some water that growling can't be good for your throat.
Herbie Hancock
4/5
I'm more of a classic jazz guy myself but respect where it's due
Dagmar Krause
2/5
The German edition is WAY better... the songs lose all their oomph when translated, they sound like a bad Dietrich impression instead of legit Weimar cabaret
Alice Cooper
4/5
Really liked this one!! Blue Turk was pure dynamite, and MAD respect for the West Side Story cover.
Paul Simon
3/5
Meh
The Fall
4/5
Can't go wrong with British post punk
k.d. lang
4/5
The best thing to come out of this album is the 1993 Vanity Fair photoshoot with Cindy Crawford. The second best thing is Miss Chatelaine.
Peter Gabriel
2/5
Sometimes it feels like they're only including albums on the basis of one good song, in this case Solsbury Hill
ABBA
5/5
Dancing Queen, Knowing Me Knowing You, Money Money Money, AND Fernando are you KIDDING me
John Lennon
3/5
Working Class Hero is great (though I prefer covers to the original), the rest is mid

Tries too hard to be off-beat, lands on annoying
The Jesus And Mary Chain
1/5
The sweet sound of distortion and tinnitus
Booker T. & The MG's
4/5
Instrumental rock ily
Ryan Adams
2/5
Dime a dozen soft rock, I was over it by track 5. Long, repetitive, uninspired. Above all booooooooooring.
Missy Elliott
3/5
Shrug. It's fine. Longer than I would've preferred + didn't like the intro/outro, but otherwise inoffensive.
Radiohead
1/5
Audio equivalent of sucking on a lemon
Leonard Cohen
3/5
Cohen can’t really sing + the instrumental arrangements are a little same-y but the album still has a certain je ne sais quoi, likely due to Cohen’s ever incomparable lyrics
Santana
5/5
THIS RIPS!!!! I LOVE YOU LATIN MUSIC I LOVE YOU HIPPIE MUSIC I LOVE YOU CARLOS SANTANA!!!!
Van Morrison
2/5
We already had Moondance why are you tossing in Astral Weeks too 😭 one Van Morrison album is enough, thanks

Queen
3/5
The epic highs (Bohemian Rhapsody) and lows (I'm In Love With My Car) of Queen
Björk
1/5
Can't listen to Björk without being filled with rage because of that travesty of a musical Dancer in the Dark. Such is the power of Lars von Trier.
Al Green
5/5
EXCELLENT soul album, listened to it twice today
Ice Cube
2/5
Wasn't feeling the beats on this one
The Killers

SZA
2/5

The Young Rascals
3/5
Well I can't say I didn't groove
Elbow
3/5
Songs range from vaguely sinister to end credits music. Ngl I dug it though.
The Stooges
4/5
They need to release a version of this that's half the Bowie mix and half the Iggy Pop mix, I can't listen to either without thinking about what the other one does better
Fishbone
2/5
Not a ska guy I'm afraid, why would you do that to Freddie's Dead. They went off with Ma and Pa + Pouring Rain though I'll give them that.
Drive-By Truckers
1/5
The torment is unending
Stan Getz
4/5
Saxophone!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!!
George Jones
3/5
A little on the boring side but I was feeling it??? A good background noise album.
Stevie Wonder
3/5
Too many songs that aren't Superstition
Bruce Springsteen
4/5
Album to blast at full volume while speeding down the highway
Marvin Gaye
5/5
Top tier soul album, the transition from God is Love to Mercy Mercy Me is transcendent
Kelela
1/5
Albums I would hear playing at Zara (derogatory). Didn't have it in me to listen all the way through.

AC/DC
3/5
Not something I would ever listen to again but I can respect it
James Brown
4/5
Brown and his band were on FIRE here
The Beach Boys
3/5
Insane getting a Beach Boys album the day after Brian Wilson died, did the algorithm do that on purpose or is it a crazy coincidence??? Anyways it's not Pet Sounds. It's okay but it's not Pet Sounds.
R.E.M.
3/5
Platonic ideal of a 90s soft rock album
The Black Keys
2/5
Car commercial music
The Jam
3/5
Enjoyed it as I was listening to it but came back an hour later to make a note and couldn't remember a single track
Supertramp
2/5
Everything that sucks about 70s music distilled into one album
The Notorious B.I.G.
3/5
Great beats and lyricism but the sex skits ruined it for me, I simply do not want to listen to that
Kings of Leon
2/5
Incredibly mid car commercial music. Though I'll admit I am not immune to Use Somebody.
Rush
5/5
Man I always forget how good the b side is too, it's so overshadowed by the Overture especially but like damn these are some really good tracks
Neil Young
4/5
Two Canadian classics in a row hell yeah!!! I love this one in theory more than I do in practice though... 35 minutes straight of Neil Young is a bit much for me, like the album is cohesive and the songs are all great but his voice wears on you after a while, y'know? You have to be in a very specific mood to listen to it.
Talking Heads
2/5
Yes Stop Making Sense is one of my favourite documentaries. No I don't really like Talking Heads. I contain multitudes.
Echo And The Bunnymen
2/5
I continue to hate 80s music
Bob Marley & The Wailers
3/5
Easy on the ears, a very good listen. Not as memorable or well-executed as Exodus, and only one Really Good Track (kinda… that one live version of No Woman No Cry is MUCH better than the album version) but I did still enjoy myself.
Sister Sledge
4/5
We as a society never should've let disco die
Beck
1/5
I truly cannot stand this guy
Finley Quaye
1/5
I think I could've died without having listened to this one actually
Pixies
4/5
No misses yet from the Pixies, this album's just one banger after another
Ozomatli
3/5
The Latin sections were fun but the rap fusion bits didn't fuse all that well imo, the sound wasn't very cohesive
Emerson, Lake & Palmer
1/5
Sometimes all you can do is laugh
Sade
3/5
Solid jazz/pop record, wouldn't listen to it again but I can respect it
Randy Newman
2/5
I vibed with the instrumentals but I found Newman's voice soooooo annoying that I just couldn't get into it. Also, very disconcerting to hear You Can Leave Your Hat On in this context, what do you MEAN the Tom Jones version is a cover??
The White Stripes
2/5
Seven Nation Army is an all timer but tbh I was underwhelmed by the rest of it, instrumentals were mid and White's voice wasn't doing it for me... weird because I like quite a few Raconteurs songs.
Willie Nelson
3/5
Platonic ideal of a country album
The Cars
2/5
NOT THE CARS 😭 genuinely who is selecting these things 😭
Motörhead
2/5
Can't give any album with Jailbait on it more than two stars
Spiritualized
3/5
Some interesting things going on instrumentally but it was altogether it was just Too Much for me to enjoy. Walked away from it really wanting to listen to Sketches of Spain???
Steely Dan
3/5
You've gotta get into a cruise ship state of mind before tossing this one on
David Bowie
3/5
Excellent opener and closer but Bowie’s putting the mid in middle
Wilco
2/5
Was over it about halfway through disc one, and disc two did nothing to reel me back in

Joan Armatrading
4/5
AMAZING voice
David Gray
2/5
Soooooooooooooo booooooooooooooooring, gave up by track 7
Ministry
2/5
Heavy metal is not for me. Jesus Built My Hotrod is kind of a bop though.
Beastie Boys
1/5
Well I'm not a 13 year old boy so this one did nothing for me
Liz Phair
3/5
Too lo-fi for my tastes but I can respect it
Madonna
2/5
Have never actually listened to a Madonna album before, just greatest hits compilations. Sad to say it kind of blows :(
The KLF
1/5
Enough with the lousy electronica please for the love of god
Nirvana
2/5
Surprisingly boring??? Only track I actually liked was All Apologies

Black Sabbath
4/5
Throwback to when my uncle saw my Black Sabbath tshirt and told me to name 10 tracks to prove I actually liked Black Sabbath??? Literally who does that??? Anyways RIP Ozzy Osbourne thank you for inventing metal 😔🤘
Arctic Monkeys
3/5
I get why they'd include AM but this one is just kind of average to me
Marvin Gaye
4/5
Okay yeah this was sexy, almost cartoonishly so at some points
Iron Maiden
3/5
GREAT guitar, great energy, not something I'm gonna add to my collection but I did enjoy this quick jaunt down to metal-land
The Verve
2/5
Background noise
Fats Domino
4/5
Fun, easy listen. I especially liked Blueberry Hill :)
Metallica
3/5
This would've been craaaazy to hear in concert, could not get into it because I can very rarely get into live albums + it's too long, but kudos to whoever came up with this collab. Kudos ESPECIALLY to whoever decided to do the Ecstasy of Gold cover that was bonkers.
Talking Heads
2/5
Life During Wartime is the only thing that made this tolerable
The Beach Boys
5/5
Yeah… It WOULD be nice…
Creedence Clearwater Revival
3/5
Good vibes, good guitar, not something I'll add to my collection but you can never really go wrong with CCR. Also Keep on Chooglin is such a funny name for a song.
The Band
4/5
The Weight. Hough.
Moby
1/5

4/5
What do you MEAN this came out in '66, how do you invent post-punk before anybody has even invented punk
Bob Dylan
3/5
The title track and Like a Rolling Stone are the only two that are like actually genuinely great when Dylan does them, the rest are great when sung by literally anyone other than Dylan
Fever Ray
1/5
Knock-off Bjork. The only way it could be worse is if it was actual Bjork.
Suede
3/5
Decent enough Britpop ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Fugees
4/5
Lauryn Hill... Waow....
Kate Bush
2/5
I really like Running Up That Hill so I'm sad to say every other track blows 😔 though I could see Jig of Life growing on me. Two stars because I believe in women's wrongs.

That one track which was literally just random old people talking was. So bad. And the rest of the album was mid. Bonus star because I really like The Graduate.
