On my hands and knees begging this list to stop giving me 80s rock albums
Can't go wrong with British post punk
I liked it, but it was pretty forgettable.
Controversial opinion but this would've flopped if Bowie hadn't died like immediately after releasing it
It's not bad actually, I think some of you just hate women.
I've never been much of a Beatles fan so there's no way it could have lived up to the hype for me, but I did vibe with the first six or so tracks
Wispy forgettable lo-fi indie nonsense
Music to be put on hold to (complimentary)
Woman's got a set of pipes on her!!! A lot of dynamite singles, especially the opening and closing tracks.
Didn't like The Eagles BEFORE I knew they were responsible for Life in the Fast Lane, now I truly hate them.
Controversial opinion but this would've flopped if Bowie hadn't died like immediately after releasing it
Grooved with the instrumentals, but would not listen again.
Melancholy folk, not really my thing.
Easy listening, no standout tracks.
🕺
Meh
Dug the guitar in Don't Die Just Yet, but otherwise didn't care for it
Music that my mom likes
Worst album so far 😬
THELONIOUS MONK THE MAN THAT YOU ARE!!!!!!!!!!
An all-time favourite!!!
Meh
Some decent beats but WHAT are these lyrics
Decent enough punk, really dug Mannequin
Mediocre at best. Actively hate Jump.
Bro why are you screaming 😭
I never did care for 80s synth pop 😑
I liked it, but it was pretty forgettable.
This was so much fun!!! Loved the second track especially :)
Not much of a rap guy but I liked B.O.B., and Ms. Jackson is of course one of the songs of all time
Meh
Some great tracks, but a mid album overall. Going Home did not need to be 11 minutes long.
Boring
Back to Black song of all time
THEEEEEEEEEE psychedelic rock album, not one bad track
Voice of an angel
Really well-constructed, a great listen
Good but no standouts
16 minute long drum solo HELL yeah
When the chorus on the title track hits... hoo boy...
Love it. Supremely.
Kinda dug the beats, mostly wasn't feeling it.
It's not Saturday Night Fever but it's okay. Really liked Walking Back to Waterloo.
Not a Radiohead guy personally but I do understand the hype this was very well-constructed
Come on Eileen song of all time. Otherwise mid.
Uneven noise rock, more good than bad
Love love LOVE this one, easily my favourite Stones album. Wait I just remembered Let It Bleed, in strong competition with Let It Bleed for my favourite Stones album.
It's giving 007 title theme
HATE the synths, those things shouldn't be anywhere near jazz. Sweet sax but I couldn't enjoy it because of the synths. Great cover art though I'll give them that.
Forgot every song as I listened to it.
The songs would be great to listen to individually as Burke's got a GREAT voice, but as an album it got a little too repetitive
Boring electronica I immediately delegated to background noise. HATED Aisha, kinda dug Aladdin's Story though.
No frame of reference to say if this is good devotional music or not but I vibed with it.
Have come to the realization I hate electronic music
Smells Like Teen Spirit riff >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
It's not bad actually, I think some of you just hate women.
Bob Marley I love you
Kind of a nothingburger, just run-of-the-mill singer/songwriter to play in corporate cafes. Title track was the only one of note.
This is what I imagine people who own houseboats listen to
GOOD TIMES 🕺 THESE ARE THE GOOD TIMES 🕺 LEAVE YOUR CARES BEHIND 🕺
Kind of a weak second half but like when Girls Just Want to Have Fun is track 2 that's to be expected
I hate you synths I hate you electronic music I hate you Depeche Mode I hate you Waiting for the Night
They are called Primal Scream because that is what you are compelled to do when you hear Stuka
Easy listen, nothing to write home about
All these Beatles albums sound exactly the same to me
This guy would've killed it as a medieval bard
Cold Irons Bound was good, rest was Not. Bob REALLY can't sing.
I'm a Yellow apologist but this was boooooooring
This is what would be playing in the background if I ever got mugged in an alleyway outside a pool hall
Great beats, great lyricism, waaaay too long though
Almost impressive how average this one is, it's like stock 60s rock
Really dug this one, especially loved the goth surf rock vibe of Cecilia Ann. Rock Music is the only miss, the singer was a little too growly for me there.
More atonal noise than I generally prefer in a punk record. Like I'll take SOME atonal noise but this is just excessive.
Incredible voice, terrible production. Why do 80s instrumentals always sound so bad???
A little too sad indie girl for me to really get into it, though Supercut is excellent
Another day, another mid Beatles album
A little one-note, but then it's one really good note
Probably my least favourite Sly Stone album but I can respect it
Gotta listen to Pink Floyd more often, their albums are all so good
The singer was so bad I had to quit halfway through, I just couldn't take it anymore
On my hands and knees begging this list to stop giving me 80s rock albums
Sadly I'm too much of a weenie to really enjoy heavy metal. The instrumentals were good I think? Vocalist guy please drink some water that growling can't be good for your throat.
I'm more of a classic jazz guy myself but respect where it's due
The German edition is WAY better... the songs lose all their oomph when translated, they sound like a bad Dietrich impression instead of legit Weimar cabaret
Really liked this one!! Blue Turk was pure dynamite, and MAD respect for the West Side Story cover.
Meh
Can't go wrong with British post punk
The best thing to come out of this album is the 1993 Vanity Fair photoshoot with Cindy Crawford. The second best thing is Miss Chatelaine.
Sometimes it feels like they're only including albums on the basis of one good song, in this case Solsbury Hill
Dancing Queen, Knowing Me Knowing You, Money Money Money, AND Fernando are you KIDDING me
Working Class Hero is great (though I prefer covers to the original), the rest is mid
Easily my least favourite Velvet Underground
Another one of those albums where the title track is the only really good one
This was so fun I love you golden age of hip hop
Tries too hard to be off-beat, lands on annoying
The sweet sound of distortion and tinnitus
Instrumental rock ily
Dime a dozen soft rock, I was over it by track 5. Long, repetitive, uninspired. Above all booooooooooring.
Shrug. It's fine. Longer than I would've preferred + didn't like the intro/outro, but otherwise inoffensive.
Audio equivalent of sucking on a lemon
Cohen can’t really sing + the instrumental arrangements are a little same-y but the album still has a certain je ne sais quoi, likely due to Cohen’s ever incomparable lyrics
THIS RIPS!!!! I LOVE YOU LATIN MUSIC I LOVE YOU HIPPIE MUSIC I LOVE YOU CARLOS SANTANA!!!!
We already had Moondance why are you tossing in Astral Weeks too 😭 one Van Morrison album is enough, thanks
Wayyyyy too much patter in this live album but you cannot argue with that jazz
Didn't do anything for me
Yes more like No Thank You
Supremely mid
Let's hear it for lesbianism hooray lesbianism
The epic highs (Bohemian Rhapsody) and lows (I'm In Love With My Car) of Queen
Can't listen to Björk without being filled with rage because of that travesty of a musical Dancer in the Dark. Such is the power of Lars von Trier.
EXCELLENT soul album, listened to it twice today
Wasn't feeling the beats on this one
Second half kinda blows but the first half is perfection
These jazz albums never miss
Hm. Didn't care for this one.
Well I can't say I didn't groove
Songs range from vaguely sinister to end credits music. Ngl I dug it though.
They need to release a version of this that's half the Bowie mix and half the Iggy Pop mix, I can't listen to either without thinking about what the other one does better
Not a ska guy I'm afraid, why would you do that to Freddie's Dead. They went off with Ma and Pa + Pouring Rain though I'll give them that.
The torment is unending
Saxophone!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A little on the boring side but I was feeling it??? A good background noise album.
Too many songs that aren't Superstition
Album to blast at full volume while speeding down the highway
Top tier soul album, the transition from God is Love to Mercy Mercy Me is transcendent
Albums I would hear playing at Zara (derogatory). Didn't have it in me to listen all the way through.
*shakes fist at sky* THE FRENCH
Sadly I am an Oasis apologist, Liam Gallagher they could never make me hate you
Not something I would ever listen to again but I can respect it
Brown and his band were on FIRE here
Insane getting a Beach Boys album the day after Brian Wilson died, did the algorithm do that on purpose or is it a crazy coincidence??? Anyways it's not Pet Sounds. It's okay but it's not Pet Sounds.
Platonic ideal of a 90s soft rock album
Car commercial music
Enjoyed it as I was listening to it but came back an hour later to make a note and couldn't remember a single track
Everything that sucks about 70s music distilled into one album
Great beats and lyricism but the sex skits ruined it for me, I simply do not want to listen to that
Incredibly mid car commercial music. Though I'll admit I am not immune to Use Somebody.
Man I always forget how good the b side is too, it's so overshadowed by the Overture especially but like damn these are some really good tracks
Two Canadian classics in a row hell yeah!!! I love this one in theory more than I do in practice though... 35 minutes straight of Neil Young is a bit much for me, like the album is cohesive and the songs are all great but his voice wears on you after a while, y'know? You have to be in a very specific mood to listen to it.
Yes Stop Making Sense is one of my favourite documentaries. No I don't really like Talking Heads. I contain multitudes.
I continue to hate 80s music
Easy on the ears, a very good listen. Not as memorable or well-executed as Exodus, and only one Really Good Track (kinda… that one live version of No Woman No Cry is MUCH better than the album version) but I did still enjoy myself.
We as a society never should've let disco die
I truly cannot stand this guy
I think I could've died without having listened to this one actually
No misses yet from the Pixies, this album's just one banger after another
The Latin sections were fun but the rap fusion bits didn't fuse all that well imo, the sound wasn't very cohesive
Sometimes all you can do is laugh
Solid jazz/pop record, wouldn't listen to it again but I can respect it
I vibed with the instrumentals but I found Newman's voice soooooo annoying that I just couldn't get into it. Also, very disconcerting to hear You Can Leave Your Hat On in this context, what do you MEAN the Tom Jones version is a cover??
Seven Nation Army is an all timer but tbh I was underwhelmed by the rest of it, instrumentals were mid and White's voice wasn't doing it for me... weird because I like quite a few Raconteurs songs.
Platonic ideal of a country album
NOT THE CARS 😭 genuinely who is selecting these things 😭
Can't give any album with Jailbait on it more than two stars
Some interesting things going on instrumentally but it was altogether it was just Too Much for me to enjoy. Walked away from it really wanting to listen to Sketches of Spain???
You've gotta get into a cruise ship state of mind before tossing this one on
Excellent opener and closer but Bowie’s putting the mid in middle
Was over it about halfway through disc one, and disc two did nothing to reel me back in
As someone who hates electronica I have particular beef with this one for helping to kick off the genre
AMAZING voice
Soooooooooooooo booooooooooooooooring, gave up by track 7
Heavy metal is not for me. Jesus Built My Hotrod is kind of a bop though.
Well I'm not a 13 year old boy so this one did nothing for me
Too lo-fi for my tastes but I can respect it
Have never actually listened to a Madonna album before, just greatest hits compilations. Sad to say it kind of blows :(
Surprisingly boring??? Only track I actually liked was All Apologies
Goth rock hooray yippee!!! More of a Bauhaus guy myself but respect where it's due
SO much fun, those strings are incredible
Oh THAT's why people love Neil Young
