This banged. Like, it really fucking banged. Far out, what a treat. 5/5.
Admittedly, this is my submission. Is it perfect? No. Is it super in places? Yes. Did it introduce my young self to the wider world of grime that I still love today? Yes.
One of the most important albums in forming my taste. I'm glad I listened to it before I died

It's sunny outside, couldn't go lower than a 4
First Aid Kit
3/5
For country folk, which was statistically one of my least favourite genres in the book, this is decent. Give me a summers day and some greenery and my bike and I'll chill along to this nicely.
Wussy
3/5
An interesting choice that I'm glad I listened to, even if it didn't set my world alight.
The Decemberists
3/5
Train ride at sunset material. Thanks for the suggestion
Death Cab for Cutie
3/5
Like a slightly more aggressive snow patrol. Was hoping it would be more emo, but I appreciated your choice none the less.
The Hold Steady
2/5
Bigger, brasher Arab Strap with any subtlety jettisoned. I love Arab Strap. Not this.
Bob Seger & The Silver Bullet Band
2/5
Each to their own
THE SPORTS
3/5
Wasn't looking forward to this as it would generally not be my thing from the sounds of it. However it knocked along quite nicely.
Amon Düül II
4/5
My player wouldn't let me hear the 3 improvisation tracks. Probably for the best. It was fun and around the right length without them.
Childish Gambino

Josh Ritter
3/5
The kind of music my wife loves
Bon Iver
3/5
I once worked with a Bon Over fan who called my criticism that their music doesn't go anywhere "clichéd". It's right though, innit.
Still, it was a different vibe and I appreciate your selection.
Bloc Party
4/5
Bobbed along nicely. I prefer their more energetic tracks. Nice selection, I enjoyed the time listening to this.

blink-182
3/5
Hits way less now im a non teenager! But a nice bit of nostalgia, thanks for the selection.
Tally Hall
2/5
An amazing amount of 5s for what is a fairly insufferable album. I don't mind a comedy album if it's done well. This is just shite.

Elmer Gantry's Velvet Opera
2/5
Not bad, but too long for something that is not bad
Roger Waters
2/5
Very much of its era. Trying too hard.
Snarky Puppy
2/5
First 4 tracks were like the deep, less fun cuts from the Pro Evo 2010 soundtrack. Last 3 tracks were better, but they ruined that goodness by applauding themselves at the end of each track. Smug gits.
Oingo Boingo
3/5
Ok
Sufjan Stevens
5/5
Brilliant. 4th of July the highlight of a beautiful but not wishy washy album
MF DOOM

Freestylers
4/5
Didn't hate it, some lovely bass lines
Gurrumul
3/5
Bit longer than I would have liked, but interesting
The Mountain Goats
3/5
Decent storytelling, but it was all a bit meh. I think that might have been the point of it.
2/5

It does have a bit of anti flow about it, but is stylish enough. Not background music, that's for sure.
Sunny Day Real Estate
3/5
I prefer screamo

Solidly inoffensive with positively enjoyable flourishes
Touché Amoré
3/5
Not especially memorable
Crash Test Dummies
2/5
Mmm mmm was my Jan when I was 6, but this is proper dull
3/5
Whilst American indie rock is to the listener list as 1967-1970 rock is to the main list, this still felt like a decent addition, and was a much easier hour than I anticipated
Anaïs Mitchell
3/5
Half an hour would have been enough, but it was interesting at least
Shania Twain
3/5
Fun
Pink Floyd
3/5
I wonder if bands get to a point where they realise that their not really adding anything to their cannon. I guess they're still adding to their bank balance.
Didn't need more pink Floyd on the list.

3/5
Enjoyed the cover and nurses whispering verses.

They were more emo than I remember, and I see that as a good thing!
Transvision Vamp
2/5
Too 80s
The Sound
2/5
Dragged on
Avicii
2/5
There is a great conspiracy about how he died in Oman involving a party, a young royal, and a wine bottle.
That is not to make light of his death.
This album had a couple of great pop songs and a lot of generic ones too.
Shudder To Think
2/5
Nah

4/5
Beautifully done
Teenage Fanclub
4/5
Never heard any of this before, but it was nicely done
Charli xcx
4/5
Some real bangers on here and interesting themes tackled too. The remix album is also good.

Godspeed You! Black Emperor
3/5
Beautifully done and washed over me.
The Angelic Process
2/5
Heavy going
Nightwish
2/5
Trying way too hard. Metal should have an edge, this had none
Joe Jackson
3/5
Great album cover, pretty decent for something that is not usually my scene
TOOL
2/5
I find that tool albums just trundle on, like a train that you don't want to be on and that has no destination. I've never got the hype and I still don't.
The Stooges
4/5
Awful recording quality, but it was a fascinating insight into early punk gigs
Titus Andronicus

Yeasayer
4/5
Most enjoyable
Modest Mouse
3/5

Ornette Coleman
4/5
Lovely little number
TOOL
3/5
Oh. More tool. Probably the best one on the list so far
Fontaines D.C.
4/5

Wishbone Ash
4/5
Wasn't looking forward to it as I was a bit 70s rocked out by this point, but it was very nicely done
Great Big Sea
3/5
I've got a soft spot for Newfies, and it was cool to hear their traditional songs. The ballady ones were a bit shit though
Backstreet Boys
1/5
I couldn't manage all the ballads at the end sadly. I really tried, I promise.
2 classic pop tracks, and then so much awfulness.
Martha

Yo La Tengo
3/5
Got a bit droney
Tosca
3/5
Incredibly chill
Beyoncé
4/5
I listened a lot to this whilst building a mountain bike trail up a mountain in the middle east. Loved it at the time so much that I nicknamed my Scouse mistress that I had at the time Beyonce (I then named the trail after her)
Time has slowed my love for it (and the mistress), but it still has highs such as hold up and forward.
I also remembered that I deleted sandcastles off my copy of the album. Never did like ballady Beyonce.
John Coltrane
4/5
Smooth and brief, excellent selection
Lady Gaga
4/5
A few absolute pop classics
Vangelis
3/5
I'll file this under interesting, but not to be listened to again
Frightened Rabbit
4/5
High quality emotional music
Neil Cicierega
1/5
Fuck mash ups, fuck this choice, fuck this album. Also, 2014? Surely not? Must have been like 2008 for it to be of its time?
