Done By The Forces Of Nature
Jungle BrothersNot terrible, but there were much better imitations of this album.
Not terrible, but there were much better imitations of this album.
Relative to other Radiohead records, it isn't a 5, but it's still Radiohead and better than 90% of the rest of these albums. Pretty sad.
Great album. Not new to me, but I love it.
Sounds pre-metal with flute. I couldn't get into it, but did find it *interesting*.
This was better than I remember it. I do really like '77, but later Heads typically doesn't do it for me.
It grew on me
Interesting, but it didn't vibe with me.
Didn't age well
It's pleasant, but does not have a spark.
I'd never heard this album from start to finish. It's a banger!
bad.
terrible. This was uninspiring and I did not like listening to it.
I'd give it 4.5 stars if I could. Not perfect, but better than a 4.
I wouldn't go back for a second listen, but i didn't hate it as much as some listeners here.
Not the best CCR album, but decent. 3.5
3.5. This album was well done and lyrics are good. The music on some of the tracks is not very compelling to my ears, however.
4.5. Obviously some of the songs are legendary, but there is also too much filler to get a 5.
Not terrible, but there were much better imitations of this album.
Solid.
Probably my most replayed album so far. I thought it was musically really quite great. I didn't get in to the story...
Country-ish, but not too bad
Fine. One great song... the rest don't really vibe with me.
Fine. One good song, the rest is average.
Pretty good. I probably wouldn't go back, but certainly don't mind listening to it.
Meh.
Meh.
The stereo on this album is really cool. Bass on left side, rhythm guitar on the right. Pretty good.
Very good. Close to a 5, but it gets better.
The best album yet. I LOVE IT! 5 Stars.
3.5. Pretty good. Fun, catchy.
Solid. Couple songs that are 4s, but I didn't get the sense that this is a 5-star album over all, to my tastes.
Just doesn't do it for me. Perfectly fine album, but dark synth pop is not my genre. Kinda boring.
I'd rate it 0. Mostly because of the talking bits. Music was fine, but uninspired.
I didn't get to listen to it as many times as I'd like, but tentatively I'd rate this closer to 4-stars than to 3-stars.
Relative to other Radiohead records, it isn't a 5, but it's still Radiohead and better than 90% of the rest of these albums. Pretty sad.
This list is too full of mediocre British albums. This is another one. Bowie and this album are over hyped IMO.
Is it Metallica's best album? No. Is it dripping with masculinity? Yes. This album isn't for every day or every mood. Does it rock? Very very much yes. 5-stars.
Great. I love Otis.
A bit too bombastic, but it gets the blood flowing.
Not perfect, but really good. I'd rate it 4.5-stars if I could. Jazzy. I love the horns. Grew up playing trumpet, so makes sense.
I like Bruce. I do. But it all sorta sounds the same, musically, to me. So I get bored.
Bjork is really odd. The music is a bit obtuse. But that is what makes it interesting. Not many others like her. I can't say my rating is equivalent to other 4-stars. Most of them, I'd be very happy listening to. I'm rating 4-stars because I'm pretty sure that with enough listens it would be at least a 4-star album, possibly 5-stars.
Pretty depressing, but I love to put it on when I'm feeling down and tired from work. Certainly a 4-star album if I've ever heard one.
I don't think I'll come back to it, but it was pretty good.
Great. I already liked R.E.M. a lot, but this album was before my time. I give it a 4.5 and will probably add it to my playlist.
Of course I'd heard many of these songs, but this album was a bit before my time. It's probably blasphemy to give it only 4-stars, but that's what I think it deserves.
Chill, but absolutely nothing special. Why is this on this list??
Fine. 3-stars.
Look, maybe Led Zeppelin was a pioneer of blue-sy rock, but to me it all sounds the same. Not bad, but just doesn't vibe with me. Kinda boring.
I just can't get into Iron Maiden. I don't get it, and think the singer sucks.
Some very catch songs, but overall I'm not the target demographic of this genre.
I'd never heard this album. Shame. It is from my era too, but, I grew up living a sheltered life. I found a new favorite and will rank this 5 stars. The outro almost lost this a star though.
Rolling Stones don't do it for me.
Catchy, but a bit poppy for my tastes. I'd never heard of Electric Light Orchestra or even Mr. Blue Sky before this listen...
The most memorable thing about this album is the spoken parts. Music bad.
Boring. 2.5 Closer to 2.
Just great. So relaxing. Love 1001 albums for this kind of discovery.
This was so incredibly bad.
I just can't give bad pop more than a 2-star rating.
Four-stars seems generous, but it is better than 3
Pretty good.
Very good, but not the best Bad Seeds album.
R.E.M. is good. This album is not one of the best, though.
God awful. What is this crap
Pretty darn good.
Don't usually like Bowie, but this was good.
Listened a few times and it grew on me. Fun. Sexy. Relaxing
Not the best Elliott Smith album, but still good.
This was a tough listen... and I like punk and Nick Cave.
I just can't get into Incubus.
Pretty good.. After a few listens I realized how melancholy this album is.
It's bad, but chill enough to get 3 stars.
Enjoyable but not best of the best
Fine. Good for country
Even there are a couple of good - great songs, I just can't get into most of them and don't like the Rolling Stones.
Surprisingly good. I didn't really love it at first, but that's what makes a good album. I'd probably even give it a 4.5
Clear 5-stars. So far the best album on this list, and I'm over 100 in. A classic both musically and thematically.
I did not like this. But also not in the mood, so, 2 stars. Seems childish and obnoxious.
I loved this at some point in my life -- 5 stars because of that. Nowadays, I'd probably give it 4.5, but who is counting?
Probably a 2.5, but that option isn't available..
I liked this a surprising amount. Pretty chill and hopeful.
A couple good songs, but overall I just don't like The White Stripes. 2.5
This album is obnoxious. Not good. Fucking shit Brit pop.
Gosh.. How do you rate an album with one of the greatest songs (Paint it Black), a song that is quite questionable in content (Under my Thumb) and a bunch of crap honkey tonk / filler?
This album can never be 5-stars for me. A couple of 5-star songs, but most are clear 4-stars.
Another album with one of the best songs ever on it... But the album doesn't really feel like an album but a collection of filler and a few hits.
Couple of awesome songs, some things that were a bit too strange (last song). Overall pretty good.
Probably not in the top 20, but still better than a 4.5.
Not my cup of tea, but probably gets rated highly by others.
Really calming.
This was really, really good. Excellent guitar work. Vocals just okay. Angie is phenomenal.
It's been a while since I've listened to this, but being a child of the 90s, of course I listened to it a lot. I thought that I would be bored of it, or that it wouldn't have stood the test of time, but oh boy was I wrong. It sound great remastered on my stereo. I miss Nirvana, I guess.
This is not super accessible, but I think it is artistically better than Nevermind.
This was remarkable. I've of course heard Take 5, and it is the best, but the rest was great too.
One great song, most of the rest is not for me.
This would have been a 5-star album at some point in my life, but I just can't give it that many. It's clearly a 4.5, but that rating isn't available.
I owned this album in my teens and of course liked some of the songs, but was also repulsed by the intensity of some of the music and lyrics. Like, it was too much. Now, much older and more capable of riding the emotional waves, I find this a breath of fresh air in the AI / TikTok - everything sounds the same - era. The remix sounds good, the music is good but not revolutionary, but the lyrics and song writing are top notch.
Not for me. I could only make it a few songs.
I wasn't in the mood for 3rd wave ska when I listened to this, so the best I could muster was 3 stars.
Interesting... Didn't know Bjork had a career before her solo one. I think I like it more, since it is more accessible.
Anywhere from at 2 to a 5 depending on my mood. Can be grating or groovy. Hard to explain.
Interesting. Liked it enough, but it can't quite break into 4-star range. Clear 3.5.
Odd.
Some slow songs, but overall I kinda dig the vibe.
It's a 3.5.
Nothing special.
Something about this grates on me.
Probably a 4.5
Pretty good, but not a 4
The "sheen" of this is oppressive.
Seemed just okay.
