The first two tracks of Fisherman's Blues, the title track and "We Will Never Be Lovers," are among the best songs I've heard doing this project. The large 80s production and the desperation of the songs, especially for "...Lovers," makes for something exciting and emotional. Sadly, this desperation quickly dissipates after these opening tracks. The rest of the album is fine, but stops being so compelling. Ultimately, it is still a good record - pretty much any album with two opening tracks as good as these will be a fine record.

First track is alright. Tracks two and three are incredibly annoying. However, once the album gets to Energy Fools the Magician and especially King's Lead Hat, the record gets incredible and never stops being so. A very easy 4.5/5. On the higher end of that, so I'll give it the 5. Maybe I'll come around to those more oblique tracks another day.

Still think I prefer Unknown Pleasures, but this has grown on me since hearing it many years ago. The last 3 tracks in specific are incredible. The way the album sort of simmers until it hits its boiling point with Twenty Four Hours is quite brilliant, not to mention the sort of aftermath of The Eternal. Decades finishes it off wonderfully. Gotta love Hook's mournful bass.

The album begins on a bland but inoffensive note. Track #3, "Pull Together," is one of the worst songs I've ever heard, and nearly every track after isn't much better. The only song on here I would even begin to call good is the quiet and eerie closer "Daniella." The vocals actually fit for once and the shitty production takes a backseat. Way too little way too fuckin late tho, this is an abomination. Actually embarrassing that something like this is in the book. One of the worst records I've ever heard.
