Enjoyable listen, very different from music I usually tend to listen to. The compositions and overal sonic landscape of the record were mindblowingly good. I've always liked records that make extensive use of big orchestration and this album fits perfectly into that slot. One of my favorite takeaways of the record is that it actually sounds like an album, in the sense that everything seems to belong together and blends well, which considering its release date is quite unique. Let us also not forget how well Ella Fitzgerald's voice complements the sound of the record and how beautiful her voice is in general. It really allows the songs to come to life. Overall I enjoyed this record a lot, even considering its very long runtime of a good 3 hours, the soundspace and vocals were very endearing and catchy too and the simple and even often humurous lyrics make for an easy listen. The feeling of an album is also really present, which I liked. I'd give this record a solid 8.2/10.
A fun album, which was easy going. The record was very creative and had a fun mix of genres, such as hiphop, rock and jazzy elements even, making the sound patterns quite unique. However the formula for making music on this record is very repetitive and thus overall the record lacks a bit in artistical depth. I did however enjoy listening to this record as it was super easy to jam out to this record. I'd give Moby's Play a 6.7/10.
I appreciate the complexity of the album, it was an easy listen, but not very engaging in my opinion, some parts dragged on a lot, or there were long solos, which made the album much less excentric and expressive. Overall I appreciate the record, but it just isn't for me. I'd give this album a 4,7/10.
A very relaxed and mellow record. I enjoyed the overall sound of the album, but I'm not a big fan of the slow paced and randomness to the lyrical structures, for me the record misses a good flow. The songs do fit together well and the feel of an album is apparant, I like the conscious approach to writing music that Simon has and he manages to discuss important topics. Overall a fine album, which has an important message, but for me lacks in structure. Favorite song: Congratulations. Overall score: 6,1/10
A soft and easygoing album with an extremely strong message throughout. The less is more and acoustic approach is done phenomenal and perfectly fits the concept pf the record. I liked how the emphasis was on the vocals and the lyricism of the album making it all the more powerful. Near the end there was, for me, a slight dip in quality, but nevertheless the complete picture is rather excellent. Favorite song: across the lines. Overall score: 7.4_10
Oke of the best beatles albums, what's not to like. This record is surely the most mature album by the band in which they demonstrate some of the their greatest songwriting and production skills. The album has some of the best and most fun beatles songs, like something and here comes the sun, there is something for casual listeners and die-hard fans. The creative feat of the album remains the meddly, ehich has excellent flow and sound all throughout. Overall this is one of the best albums of all time and a favorite of mine. Favorite song: Something. Overall score: 9.4/10
conscious, fresh, creative,
excellent loops and layering
production is fresh
swears not excessive: doesn't get in the way of the message
powerful message
chorus's creative --> If you only knew
concsious --> one of them --> arrested development
Creative and lyrically punchy. Power in numbers has an excelllent jazzy a groovy feel whilst maintaining a positove message. The conscious lyrics are great and the production is excellent, what I also like is that the swears aren't excessive or in the way of the message the record has. I thoroughly enjoyed the creativeness in the sampling and the groovy textures used making the record very danceable in a sense. The album does feel sloghtly inconsistent as the first half seems to have more punch than the latter half and the closer wasn't in my opinion a very strong ender. Favorite song: if you only knew. Overall score: 7.3/10
Mellow all over. I liked the sonic textures of the record, Martyn does an excellent job at conbining different genres of music into a complete whole, whilst the album still keeps its folk roots. The songwriting was good, but did become monotone sometimes, when the vocals are added. Overall I can appreciate the record but its not something that blew me away, it missed a certain power to it. Favorite song: Over the hill. Overal score: 6.9/10
Very good coherent piece, with hints of acts like the Smiths, which I quite enjoyed. The strange vocals and sadness in the lyrics where punchy en effective. Got nothinh mych more to say, overall a good indie record, but nothing particular that blew me away. Favorite track: Seeing other people. Overall score: 6.0/10
.
In my opinion one of the most meaningless albums I've heard, aside from one song there is nothing memorable about the record. Gangster rap in no way can revel other forms of hiphop and this is a good example of why. THe only thing I could enjoy was the production which was actually very good. Favorite track: Little Ghetto Boy. Overall score: 3.0/10
Enjoyable album overall, the production was quite unique and more rock oriented than records of the same period, which I liked, with outstanding singles like "everybody wants to rule the world", a classic. There was a certain unbalance between excellent songs, like the aforementioned and other tracks, making the album have a bit of filler material. In terms of 80's albums this one was enjoyable and a good listen overall. Favorite track: "everybody wants to rule the world". Overall score: 7.0/10
There's lots of energy in the album. And the pieces are a times very powerful and complex. These are sometimes followed by slow and parts that drag on however, however the technecality of the instrumentals was top notch and in terms of sound quite like king crimson and other prog acts. Overal the album was a great piece of live music, which in terms of momentum was a little unbalanced at times, but very enjoyable nonetheless. Favorite song: The Eleven. Overall score: 7.0/10
Enjoyable listen with fun songs and interesting covers. The record feels fresh and Willie does a great job at catching the emotions in the songs, like unchained melody, be it in a country style, which was great. The record does lack in originality, as the record is only made of covers. Nonetheless the new style make up for it and overall the album is just fun and relaxing to listen to. Favorite song: September song. Overall score: 7.2/10.
In terms of sound a very enjoyable listen, many different patterns and concepts which don't bore the listener. Nothing much more to say than that is was fun listen, but not something I'd pick up more. Favorite track: Sometimes. Overall score: 6.8/10
It was what it was. Overall score 5.0/10
I like this album better than most modern rock albums for its excellent integration of synths into the sound. The patterns and musical structures played out quite well. I did like the first half better than the second half, which made the record feel a little unbalanced at times. Overall I liked the album as is, but I don't see myself listening to this on a regular basis. Favorite song: Hail Bop. Overall score 7.4/10
I can appreciate the cultural relevance of this record, but for me it was quite a pointless album with a random selection of songs, that had no other real connection besides being loud. However it was a fun album to jam out to. Overall not something I'd listen to again and simply an album everyone just has to have heard once. Favorite Song: I wanna be your boyfriend. Overall score: 5.5/10
In my opinion a very mediocre rock album. The guitar work and most instrumentals, were nothing particularly special, but I did enjoy the synths when they were used, and the lyrics were sometimes a little idiosyncratic. For me the record was overall just nothing really special, as a whole, but I did enjoy certain tracks a lot, I could listen to certain tracks, but the bigger picture was missing for me. Favorite song: Sulk. Overall score 5/10
suprisingly great album, as someone who does not listen metal on a regular basis this was quite enjoyable. Melodically the album made sense and the vocals were really well fit for the songs and themes. The power was excellent and was very fitting for the tackled issues. Overall the album was great to jam out to, but had a level of consciousness that also made it relevant. Favorite track: Dam the river. Overall score: 7.6/10
Altough a step up from the bends, OK computer still leaves quite a bit to be desired. I don't think the theme has been excuted to its best, although the concept of the record is excellent, which gives tracks like paranoid android which is just laughably bad and other tracks, which, ironically, people tend not to listen, that are great. So theres a certain level of unbalance in the record and the flow is thus broken. Overall a step up from the bends and much more listenable as a whole and a great theme. Favorite track: subterranean homesick alien. Overal score: 6.3/10
Groovy, catchy and fun, but nothing to super special about this record, it was just play ol fun. Overall score 6.3/10
An enjoyable punk album, from a very neat act. The replacements, for an 80's group has a for me succesfully captured the counter culture idea. The pure rock idea of the album and the polarizing lyrics make it unique for its time period, which I liked. Overall pretty great piece of music. Favorite track: androgynous. Overall score: 7.2.
Overall cozy album with interesting sound patterns and fun experiments. I found the album to be thematically a bit all over the place and some of the writing a little nonesensical. However this was I think a fine, be it one time, listen. Favorite track: no intention. Overall score: 6.6/10
Very standard stuff, I didn't like the production at all, it was over the top and more often than not didn't accompany the music and its direction in terms of overall feel. The lyrics were often corny as hell too, take "the louvre"(production wise a mess too). Overall glad the album was done, the only good thing was the powerful intro, which was ultimately followed by a landslide of sloppy work. Favorite track: Green light. Overall score: 1.8/10
Too british. Favorite track: Our House. Overall score: 4.6/10
Amazing, just plain simple amazing. The record is lush with jazzy production and full of actually relevant lyrics, timeless lyrics. The combination of jazz and poetic lyrics has been so refined and the two complement eachother so well. The longer insteumental pieces didn't feel like a drag and were soothing and complementary to the tone and mood of the songs. Overal this record was very balanced, an excellent intro and outro dust free songs that are timeless in terms of message and overal amazing production. The only negative thing I can say is that this record might be harder to listen at times, perhaps its not a daily listen, but definitely something to return to from time to time. Favorite song: peace go with you brother. Overall score: 9.2/10
Some good songs, some very forgetable tunes. My generation is very imbalanced: whilst the first half is good the second half is sometimes dreadful, the feeling of an album is also not very present. However I did like the sharp guitarwork, which was impressive, especially considering the time. And the rythmic feel of the album in general was great. Overall a fine one time listen. Favorite track: My Generation. Overall score: 6.8/10
Suprisingly great, mega sharp guitarwork, with long technical solos, as one would expect from prog. The psychy feel was very present wel, very much so in the vocals, which were excellent in combination with the instrumentals. Although some prog can be a hard listen I found this to be creative and artsy, whilst not losing sight of general melodic sense making it listenable for a much wider audience. Needless to say this one was impressive. Favorite track: Something for nothing. Overall score: 7.9/10
Just beautiful. Joni Mitchell is so good a captuiring certain emotions and turning them into songs that are just lyrically speaking some of the best out there. Aside from that the minimalist soundscape of the record allows the focus to be on the vocals and the lyrics, which I am a big fan of. Blue as a project also just makes sense, thematically and in terms of sound the album has an excellent flow, with an perfect mix of more energetic songs(Carey) and a good dose of sadness, the title is blue afterall, which once again that idea and the pain is captured so well (river is just a tearjerker) on this record and overall the record is quite seemless. Favorite track: River(very HM to My Old Man). Overall score 9.3/10
Less impressive than I though it would be, likely too because I couldn't help but compare this one to other records that in my opinion just took certain aspects to the next level. I liked the incorporation of jazzy elements(but for example, lackluster considering acts like digible planets or common) and other genres and even some guitarwork, which I liked. On the other hand some it felt over the top, which is why I'm not a fan of the first track, which in my opinion should set the tone for the rest of the record and thus is crucial, wesleys theorem left some more to wish for. But overall I can't say too many bad things, it was a good record, just not my style of hiphop I suppose, nonetheless there were some great sounds and lyrics on this album and it has a lasting impact on modern rap, which can't be overlooked. Favorite track: Momma. Overall score: 5/10
Rather solid record. As someone who is not familiar with Jack White's work, this was a pleasant suprise to say the least. The work done on the piano was excellent, to begin with, although the songs that used piano often times felt out of place within the overall feel of said songs. With which I want to highlight that some lyric, vocal and production combinations fell out of place at times. I quite appreciate a little nonsense, however here it was not excecuted wel. But nonetheless, for a 21st century record, I quite enjoyed this as a one time listen. Favorite song: Freedom at 21. Overall score 7.4/10
Just excellent. As a big Beach Boys fan I completely forgot how good this record was. I love the piano work which is super energic and progressions are near perfect. The mix of genres is also just done very well, we get to enjoy some jazzy elements alongside the rock apeal of the record. There's also a clear identity and flow throughout the album which is great, the intro is powerful and the closer is more down tempo, which in my opinion is the best way to go about. I really just overall enjoyed the production and insturmentals on the record along-side Dennis' raspy and raw vocals, just great. Overall score: 9.0/10
I didn't dig this one much. I found it an odd mix of dance and pop, with sappy lyrics that would fit in any modern day sad song. Not so suprisingly, this was nothing for me, but I could see the appeal, this record had nothing that was rather memorable. Favorite song: On hold. Overall score: 4.4/10
Absolutely love this classis. Sam cooke is such an entertainer and just an excellent vocalist. He manages to bring in so soft and sentimental songs with a mix of energetic material, which has been blended so tremendously well. I love him involving with the audience and their respective reactions. Just overall a near perfect live record, this is just an experience to me. The only reason I won't give this a super high score is because I love Sam's "live at the copa" even more, which has a lot to say about Sam as a performer. Favorite track: Twistin the Night Away(HM to For sentimental reasons and cupid, I love the live version of the latter so much). Overall score 8.8/10
Alrightish record. Nothing in particular that amazed me, especially the blues tracks were a bit of a drag at times. The rest of the rock tracks were fine as they were, but nothing that caught my eye. Favorite track: Love Her Madly. Overall score: 5.0
Pretty meh record for me, it was anything but special and hotel california itselg felt like a drag listening back to it. Overall a pretty lackluster record with no real big depth or instrumentally anything big for me, don't get me wrong its fine to listen to, but it just isn't something that imprssed me, I liked certain tracks and thats it. Favorite track: try and love again. Overall score: 4.8/10
Excellent debut from the Doors. Having known the record before, I was still impressed by the different sounds and Jim Morisson's raw vocals. One of the most impressive aspects is how The Doors bring their own type of pwchychedlic music in a landscape dominated by the subgenre. Their take in psychrock is just as important as for example jimmy hendrix. Their sheer power in songs is also amazing and Morrison has a voice that perfectly complements the instrumentals and the feel of the songs. Although The End is not my favorite track, it is one hellova way to end a record, and break on through is a perfect opener, all songs are linked in terms of sound and thus theres a good balance. Overall just great. Favorite track: Break On Through. Overall score: 8.5/10
Supringly good, which I did not expect. The album was grungy and heavy but still had a good sense of rythm and flow, songs were dark, but it not in any way hard to listen as of this. The album had a good balance with a smart intro and explosive outro, which is perfect. Honestly not much else to say, it was just pretty good. Favorite track: Evenflow. Overall score: 8.2
Fun little album, but nothing too special. It was definitely unique with its combination of instruments and almost surf rock feel, yet often times I missed some lyrics, which would've added to the fun. Overall the record is plain fun its something you listen to if you aren't feeling too serious. Favorite track: Green Onions. Overall score: 6.0/10
I didn't really get along with this one, the lyrics were a little funky a times and some of the production was a little debatable. Just don't think this one was for me, I liked certain tracks, especially the first few, but the greater picture was missing. Favorite track: beautiful day. Overall score: 4.5/10
Solid record, enjoyed this one. Overall a good hard rock album, excellent vocals done with just raw energy, which fit the music and the record well. I however can't say this was the most special piece in terms of lyrics. Overall fun listen nothing to deep, just good. Favorite track: More than a feeling. Overall score: 7.2/10
it was... what it was. The production mainly, was often a weird mix of seemingly random effects(On Top, Killers have to be reminded this isn't the crazy frog album), that took away most of the flow out of the songs, like use of the vocoder at the most random instances. The record also seems very focussed around Mr Brightside, of which I don't understand the appeal at all, the lyrics are pretty goofy and the song isn't anything unique. To reiterate, I wasn't impressed at all, the songs were listenable but some choices were just laughably bad. Favorite track: Change your Mind(because I have to pick). Overall Score: 1.2/10
It was fine, for me it was a bit too much at times. There were fast uptempo songs followed by slow ballad-like songs, which was strange yet oddly comforting and added as a sort of counterweight to the sheer power of the record. Overall I quite enjoyed the record but it was not something I'd listen on a frequent basis, it's missing something special. Favorite track: Jeniffers body. Overall score: 6.8/10
Emotional and powerful. Especially the opener is a cult classic in the Young catalogue and for me a good opener is one of the most important parts of a record. This isn't my favorite Neil Young record but it is definitely an enjoyable record, a heavy hitter, but a powerful one, the songs are quite political and stark, but have meaning. Overall an impressive piece. Favorite track: my, my, hey, hey. Overall score 7.0/10
A crazy all over the place record, yet one of my favorite records, which I did not know of. The politcal issues tackled make the record relevant, whilst not being boring. USA introduces their own take on psychrock, more towards that of the Beach Boys, which is totally up my alley, its crazy its all over the place, its ambitious and it shouldn't work, but it does, very impressed by this one. The balance is great, the lyrics are clever and the production is mindblowing at times. Favorite track: The American way of love(OM to "I wouldn't leave my wooden wife for your sugar"). Overall score: 8/10
Just breathtaking. A sweet, emotional record that just hits all the strings. The leading track is great and opens the record nicely, theres return to more rocksy roots and a hint of groovy coutnry tunes(Are you ready for the country?). Songs are also emotional and the lyrics are well thought of. Overall the record is just so well rounded and masterfully crafted, the lyrics are amazing and the instrumental work is perfectly complementary. Favorite track: Out on the weekend. Overall score: 8.2/10
groovy, funky and the guitar licks are just incredible. Honestly a record that I am going to revist, it does not do it enough justice to listen once, this record was an experience that you have to take in. I liked the Curtis' guitarwork and his feel for r&b, soul and funky guitarwork is just incredible, the music synchronizes so well with the text. Overall very impressed. Favorite track: Jesus. Overall score: 8.5/10
a very average rock experience, the songs were enjoyable but nothing particular that was very special. The guitarwork was great and the songs were fine, some of the covers felt a little out of place(Nobody knows when your down and out), but overall the album was fine in its own right, just nothing very special. Favorite track: Little wing. Overall score: 5.0/10
crazy, rugged and excentric. Wonderful post punk record with a phenomenal soundscape. The textures were suprisingly creative. The vocals however, were at times a little too edgy for the sound, but overal this record was a great listen. Favorite track: My tulpa. Overall score: 7.0
Mellow, experimental and clean. This record was a little all over the place, but does its work as a soundtrack, the music wasn't too invasive, but maybe to the loss of the listener, the music... was just there. That's why I find it hard to choose a favorite song. The record overall is a fine listen but just not impactful, its there and it does its thing. Favorite track: playground love. Overal score: 4.0/10
rough, ragged and raw. Pure energy from the pixies not a record that I thought was very memorable but it was a fine listen overall and I'm a sucker for surf rock songs, so the intro was a pleasant surprise. Favorite track: cecialia ann. Overall score: 6.3/10
I'd rather be smashed in the head with a bottle than listen to this again. No favorite song, nothing good to say. Overall score 0/10.
Catchy, groovy and danceable. The smooth jive of Womack is fun and lush, the guitarwork is exactly what you would expect from the genre and the grooves are just enjoyable. The record lacks a little in comparing it to acts like curtis mayfield. Overal though I simply ejoyed the vibes and had fun with this one. Favorite song: just my imagination. Overal score: 6.5/10
Very interesting psychrock album. The guitarwork is sharp and sounds great, the vocals conplement the records themes and soundpatterns, being rough and hazy. Overall just a clean psychrock record. Favorite track: Strange Brew. Overall score: 7.0/10
This literally gave me a headache near the end. Some of it was alright, but thats just what it was... alright at best. Overal not very impressed, only a headache left from this one. Favorite track: Everybody needs a 303. Overal score: 10 lost braincells out of 31 pele soccer jerseys.
Some of the best post 2000 music. Back to Black is moving, raw and dark. Brining to life the struggles of a musician, whilst staying creatively dense. The soundpatterns of the record are some of the best of its time and the overal jazz feel of the record has been brought to life so well, Amy manages to pair sound with her lyrics and tone so well. Overall a very impressive piece of art. Favorite track: Tears dry on their own. Overall score: 9.0/10
swampy and murky, really weird album. I imagine this is what an encounter with a witchdoctor feels like in a random swamp. Overall... not for me, little too weird. Favorite track: walk on guilded splinters. Overall score: 5.0/10
chilling, hauntingly beatiful. Knowing that Cohens words are the words of a dying man make the record much more powerful and heartfelt. Suprisingly great, beautiful record overal. Favorite track: Treaty. Overal score: 8.2/10
silly, funky, danceable. Quirky but fun, interresting take on hip hop. favorite track: Who you funkin' with? Overall score: 6.0/10.
very weird yet captivating record. honestly pretty good but need to listen again to say for sure. 7.2/10
Classy, warm and clean. I think everyone sort of knows this record, having listened to it or not. I had never listened to BVSC, but of course knew the art and the genre. Anywho, I liked the record, but I didn't "get" it. This album is so popular and revived the "world" music scene and I just don't get how. However I did like the record, it had a way of taking you to the beaches of cuba and just perfectly captured that vibrant sunny feeling, I think I'll have to listen to this record a few more times and maybe I will get it. For now though I appreciate it and overall enjoyed it, its fun, just not excellent. Favorite track: Chan Chan. Overall score: 7.0/10
Favorite track: shaking all over. Overall score: 5.5/10
favorite track: Tryin to throw your arms around the world. Overall score: 5.5/10
favorite song: I know a girl. Overall score: 6.0/10
I expected more from this to be fair. don't get me wrong this was a solid album. Grace has just been one of those 90's classics, but its not something I would listen to on a regular basis. I should state that this is a good record, just nothing, aside from certrain songs or moments, that makes it stand out as genius. Favorite track: Lover You Should Have Come Over. Overall score: 6.5/10
pretty average stuff here. favorite track: hometown blues. Overall score: 5.5/10
Favorite track: Hell is round the corner. Overall score: 4.2/10
yeah no doubt that this is the boss' best work. Darkness on the edge of town is the moon to what is the born to run sun. Darkness just captures the raw and the emotional that Bruce Springsteen excells at, the lyrics are top notch, the music is perfectly complementary and the intro's and outro's are just breathtaking. This is peak performance and it is there for everyone to pick up. Favorite song: racing in the street. Overall score: 9.6/10
honestly a pretty sweet and often humorous record. Good stuff, not too deep and of course imagine is just breathtaking. Favorite song: imagine. Overall score: 7.2
enjoyable and fresg record, like the combinations of acoustic sounds. Overall a fun record. Favorite track: Trem de Diodo. Overall score: 6.8/10
Pretty alright, nothing special. favorite track: Pour some sugar on me. Overall score: 6.0/10
nothing special, especially the lyrics and vocals were pretty bad. However the intrumentals were great. Favorite track: space invader. Overall score: 4.8/10
favorite track: The battle of Epping forest. Overall score: 7.2/10
Probably me favorite record from the berlin trilogy. I spun my copy to shreads. Heroes is truly magnificent in every sense. Its experimental and it seeks the boundaries of what music really is, whislt staying available for everyone to enjoy. The division of the two sides is near perfect, raw power with tracks like joe the lion on side one, followed by the experimental and soft touch of moss garden and neukoln. The intros and outros are near perfect as well, the soundscape of, for example, V-2 schneider is perfect, a great mix of synth and drums that ecapsulates the feel of life during the cold war, there are not many other tracks, with no vocals, that can do that. Heroes is just in every sense a near perfect record that stands the testament of time. I have only scratched the surface of what makes the record great and could go on and on like a broken record. Safe to say this is going to be my first 10, this record will always sound amazing to me and will always spark my imaginition, this is one of the greatest musicians to ever live at his best, Heroes is pure art. Favorite track: Heroes. Overall score: 10.0000000000/10
favorite track: you can call me al. Overall score: 6.5/10
Average stuff, some songs were good, but the record had a level of randomness in theme which I didn't like. Favorite track: We're going to be friends. Overall score: 6.0/10
very draggy and much longer than it should be. Overall very unimpressive: tracks are way too long and the sound patterns are not unique and repetetive, its hard to choose a favorite song, afterall they all sound the same. Favorite track: One. Overall score: 4.2/10
Favorite track: you oughtta know. Overall score: 6.8/10
Never listened to fiona apple before and was suprised in a good way. The lyrics were heartfelt and clever whilst the sound patterns were unique and well constructed. Overall impressive stuff, looking forward to seeing more in the future. Favorite track: shadowboxer. Overall score: 7.9/10
Suprisingly fun little record. I wasn't familiar with this at all. The soundpatterns created were unique and felt lush and creative, which I really enjoy from electronic music, I would've liked to see a more cynical approach perhaps, but overal this was a fun piece of music, laudable for its creative yet infectious grooves. Favorite track: Souvenir. Overall score: 7.4/10
Much better than the previous record I listened to: Justice for all. I liked the rougher themes, the guitarwork was sharper and more well rounded. Overall very impressed for a metal record, and the opener... good lord, listening this made me feel cool(I'm not). Favorite track: Enter Sandman. Overall score: 8.2/10.
Pretty alrightish record, its nothing very memorable, there are good parts don't get me wrong but that's it: there is a great lack in consistency, which is a big flaw in my book. Overall fine listen but nothing really more. Favorite track: The suburbs. Overall score 5/10.
Alrightish album, enjoyable but nothing crazy, fun beats and excellent vocals but nothing that will suprise the listener. Favorite track: Freedom 90!. Overall score: 5.5/10
I gave myself a pass after the first 2 songs... its a no for me.
Fun but too short. Favorite track: blueberry hill. Overall score: 6.7/10.
Just an excellent record. In terms of sound and production... so masterfully crafted, theres no other record out there that just sounds nearly as snooth and well rounded as aja. The lyrics are also insanely clever and the vocals match the jazzy aspects of the record. One of my favorite records of all time, still is. Favorite track: Black cow. Overall score: 9.5/10
suprisingly heartfelt and dark record. The stripped down quality and overall rawness of the album gave it a less is more appeal: the emphasis on what matters was great. Overall very suprised by this one, I liked it a lot. Favorite track: Ballad of big nothing. Overall score: 8.1/10
pretty fine record. Nothing that particularly blew my mind, it was less impressive expected, this being a pretty popular and well loved record. Favorite track: wake up. Overall score: 5.0/10
sweet and simple, easy to the ears and overall just a complete and thematic record, has a warmth thanks to a stripped down structure. Overall an impressive feat of a record. Favorite song: its too late. Overall score: 7.9/10.
its got good tracks, its got hopeless stuff, EOMS is a crazy mix of everything and nothing that has bluesrock as its only theme, which is not what a great record is supposed to look like. Just listen to some of the songs, theres some good stuff on here, its just not complete. Favorite track: Tumblin dice. Overall score: 4.2/10
Favorite song: summers cauldron. Overall score: 7/10
pretty alrightish record, very average and nothing special, but a fine one time listen. Favorite track: In my room. Overall score: 4.5/10
favorite track: Piece of my Heart. Overall score: 7.0/10
favorite track: That'll be the day. Overal score: 6.2/10
favorite track: It was a good day. Overall score: 7.2/10
The record is messy, but in an acceptable way. This album just doesn't feel coherent, because it isn't. There no group effort from the Beatles, which in my eyes makes the record lose its magic. It's not bad, it just not what the Beatles really mean to me, this is just a collection of songs. Favorite song: While my guitar gently weeps. Overall score: 5.0/10
impressive stuff, but not as memorable as works like replica's. Gary Numans feel for the synthesizer and making electronic music that has a soul is unmatched though, which you can see in the highlights of this record. Favorite track: Cars. Overall score: 7.5/10
Favorite track: gone daddy gone. Overall score: 5.3/10
Just mindblowingly good. This for me is one of the greatest if not just straight up greatest, debuts of all time. Its ragged, its rough, the guitarwork is out of this world and Jimi's vocals finish the picture to the fullest. The record has an overal theme flowing though it and even though the emphasis is on the electric guitar, there's not a single boring track on here. If I dare say this is 60's psychrock's finest record and even going into the future there's nothing that beats this experience. Favorite track: Purple Haze. Overalll score: 9.8/10

This was not what I expected from Radiohead, the only record I had listened before this being The Bends and OK computer(also thru this system). Both of which not leaving me with too much of an impressed feeling, but I think I like this one a bit more, its more experimental and in terms of sound coherent yet all of the place, its quite unique, which I can respect, I'm still not blown away by these guys, but this was a step in the right direction for me. Soft, energetic and smooth. With FFF Stevie developed his sound even more. The grooves are funkier, the lyrics more political and the vocals smooth as ever. FFF is a great step up in the right direction, but for me personally a slight little setback from Stevie's achievements on his previous record: Innervisions(my personal favorite stevie wonder record). Nonetheless FFF is a landmark and a testament of a record that is unmatched and a unique piece in his already mindblowing catalogue, for me FFF, together with Innervisions, is where Stevie perfects his sound, making way for completion on Songs in the Key of Life. All in All this record blows my mind each play and is a record I come back to on the regular, as Stevie's feel for making songs is so unique and just perfect and FFF is a perfect example of his grand design. Sharp, moving and glorious. Even by looking at the cover alone you can tell this record was a switch up for the Beach Boys. Even though the group wasn't led by Brian at this point in time, the music was still great and their move towards the 70's saw some great records being made, with Sunflower, Holland and Love You being some of my favorites. Surf's up is that essential switch in momentum that was needed, its political, its raw and it isn't your average sunny beach boys record, even the contrast with Sunflower is stark. Nonetheless Surf's up for me is one the greatest beach boys records, as its trying to be more artsy and meaningful. The lyrics are punchy and the instrumentation is excellent as always. Whilst songs like Don't go near the water and Lookin' at tomorrow provide some food for thought, the record has some lighter tones with songs like the soft and emotional Disney Girls. There plenty of experimentation with songs like feel flows, which is an emmaculate representation of the groups technical capabilities, even without Brian. But the main focus of this record should be the last three tracks, which is singlehandedly one of the greatest endings ever made. Each song is enough to give you the chills; they're raw, emotional and have emaculate production. I dare say the ending sequence along makes the this record worth listening. Overall this is just one of my favorite record by the beach boys as it shows they're technicality to the fullest, its versatile and heartfelt and its you at the core. One of my favorites that will be spun much much more. Favorite song: Day in the life of a tree (massive massive HM to Till I die... good lord the harmonies, also, of course, surf's up, objectively the best song on the record, I'm just biased as hell, and Disney Girls the softies). Overall score: 9,8/10
